Zebra Gamer – Minecraft PS4 – Episode 2 – The Quest for Iron!

– [Zebra] What’s up ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to a new episode of Let’s Play Minecraft for the Playstation 4. And today, we’re gonna find out what’s in that spooky, mysterious well that was over here. We just saw this well and it didn’t have anything else near it.

I don’t know how I missed it. I don’t know if it’s a marker for if I re-spawn? What is this thing? The only way to find out, of course, is to go over here and check it out. It’s weird. What is this thing? I’m scared that a monster’s gonna pop out

And be like “Oooh!” Whoah! I saw some coconuts on some of the jungle trees. That wasn’t there the last time I played this game. Cobblestone. So it is a well. A lone well none other but… What? There were signs of civilization here at one point. But now it is just a well.

What could have happened to the people here? Were they devoured by the monster? Or, did they decide to part ways into the east? I don’t even know if that’s the east. We don’t even have a compass. I don’t know what I’m talkin’ about. Let’s try to conquer a jungle tree.

Climb the highest jungle tree we find and just climb to the top and chop it down. I’m probably gonna run out of my pick-ax power, ax power by the time I get up to the top. There’s only one way to find out and that’s by climbing up there and trying it.

If I can even do that. I don’t I’m gonna be able to. Let’s get my pick-ax here. Here we go. Just live the lumberjack’s life. It’s the life for me. Climbing up trees, knocking them down, making them spiral doorsteps that destroys the laws of physics. That’s my life. Zebra the lumberjack. Everyday.

Let’s go up. We’ll get a few of these. We won’t get all of them. That’s gonna take too long. I’m sort of happy we haven’t run into any enemies yet. We did see quite a few animals, though. I’m hoping to see a woof. There’s cats in this game as well. There’s ocelots.

We’ll have to check out some of it and see if we can’t find any of those. I am starting to get hungry at this point. So I feel like I’m going to wrap up when it comes to getting some wood. We have plenty of wood at this point. Let’s run back. Oop, no.

Okay (laughs). Having controller issues still. Let’s go this way. Wow, I love the size of the world and the render distance is huge. We can see so far in front of us. I love it. It reminds me that we have a world to explore. I love it. That’s the thing.

My favorite thing about video games is adventuring. If a game doesn’t fell like it’s and adventure, it probably doesn’t interest me. So a game like Minecraft can really be my cup of tea, at times. Now the scary part is that I might forget where my house is.

I do believe it’s near this mountain. All I have to do is use the well as a landmark. It should just be on the other side of the mountain to the side of the well. Oh my! Aww man! The wool and the woof. I wonder what happened to this sheep. You darn pooch. So we get to see a woof. We can’t do anything about him, though. We need bones. Bones can be only found through skeleton. Also, cannon ball! (laughs) Oh my god! I’m having so much fun. I can’t even describe it. Let’s go up this mountain,

And then on the other side should be our lovely home. Our lovely made-out-of-stone home. It’s ever so comfortable. Head up the mountain. Almost there. I’m actually getting very, very close to death at this point. I really need to find some food. That’s the wrong button. There’s a chicken again.

I can eat this, right? If need be. It’d be very dangerous for me to do that. I can, though. It might make me sick. Feel like I’m playing with the devil there. Let me take care of you, mister chicken. There we go, get some feathers from him too. Cool stuff. I see mushrooms.

Tiny mushrooms in the distance. There we go, here’s our house. We are back home. Feel nice and comfy now. What I want to do, is I want to make as many of these as I can. There we go. Now I what I want to do is…

The hardest part is finding where these blocks are kept. There we go. I want this. Let’s replace it with the feathers. There we go. I can also use the joystick. Cool stuff. I’ll just place this over here. There we go! So I have some are hungry to work with.

I can put some stuff in here if I want. Maybe this. And this and this. Put these over here. This music is interesting. I can also triangle. Triangle. Triangle. Move this over here. Triangle. Triangle. I’ll keep the map with me. Okay, cool. The music is sort of creepy now. Let’s start diggin’.

The music is sort of creepy. Wow. Weird. I wanted to start digging downwards. Hopefully we find some useful artifacts. Some useful minerals and ores. The stuff you find in Minecraft. Of course, the word mine is in the game. This is a huge part of it.

I really want to see how far I can get with the building in this game. This year, I’m really becoming a creative person. In Little Big Planet, I’m starting to create more. In Minecraft, I’m gonna start building more. I’m gonna become a creative person. I’m not just gonna build a run-of-the-mill house.

I wanna build a fortress. I wanna build the fortress of Zebra-tasticness. We’re gonna do it as a team too. You guys are going to tell me what you want to see in the series. What you want to see me build and I’m going to do it. I’m just gonna beast it up.

I’m excited. I love series where you guys can get a level of interaction. This is definitely one where you can get that. For a second I thought I saw iron, but that was just my eyes messing with me. Am I doing this right? No I’m not (laughs).

I haven’t dug a mine shaft in so long. Just do a little bit of this. The durability on this is very, very wearing out. We’re almost getting there. Almost there. This music is insane. I like it. I really do. We’re almost there. Come on. We gotta find some mores. It’s a quest for iron. A quest for coal. A quest for anything. Just give me some loot, man! Gimme some of it! Oh man, this music.

It’s really good. I like it. Most of this music that’s been playing so far, I’ve never heard before. It’s interesting stuff. Let’s head down. There has to be some stuff soon. I don’t want to dig straight down, ’cause it’s breaking a Minecraft law. But I’m tempted to.

I didn’t want to do that. Oh boy. Let me use the rest of my wooden pick-ax getting rid of it. There you go. Looks like it’s saving again. Okay. Oh, there it goes. I really enjoy myself. I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. I’d really like to know what you guys

Would like to see, though. If it’s building, certain things that you guys request. Going or doing certain maps that communities made or playing with viewers? Maybe that’s what you want to see the most. Oooh! I see coal. Hopefully it’s connected to something much, much bigger. Because, of course, coal is awesome.

But we’d also like to find some other loot as well. So dig this through. I’m gonna get some coal. Do this. It’s a good chunk of coal. I appreciate it game, thank you! You are awesome! And so is everybody watching. Thank you for watching. I’ve been having an amazing amount of support recently.

I’m always so worried that I’m gonna know down a block and behind it is gonna be a zombie face or a creeper face staring back at me like “We’ve been waiting for you, Zebra. “You are going to lose your stripes today!” And I’ll be like “Nooo!”

Then I wake up and it’s just a nightmare. Man this coal, there’s so much coal. Wow this music! I don’t know. I love music. I’m a big fan of music. I’m a big fan of art in general. Let’s get rid of this one. There we go. Just a few more.

I’ve never seen so much coal in one place, I don’t think. This is a lot of coal. Let’s get these last two pieces. My stone pick-ax is almost gone already. Just make our way down some more. Almost there. We’re making some good progress. At this point we have a ton of coal too.

That’s awesome. I would really like to run into some iron soon. Our first real ore would be really cool. Eventually we’ll start to run into diamonds as well. I do believe the only way you can know your location now is by doing a bit of this and going here.

You can see it here. Something I’m a little bummed about is that the touch pad doesn’t… I wish you could swipe the PS4 touch pad and go through the inventory. But you can’t do that, unfortunately. We can see our coordinates here. I hope if anybody out there is using the Zebra-tastic Seed

So other people can check it out too. With the Minecraft PS4 share features… Iron ore! (gasps) Hype! So much hype. Iron ore. Yay! The trek for iron ore has been successful. We have found some. And now we can cheer. We can bring it back to our family.

Be like “Look ma. Look what I have been able to find. “It’s shiny and nice. We’re going to make it into even more “shiny and nice things.” Oh no! I needed one more. How am I going to get back up? Let me do a little bit of this. Ha-ha!

Now we got to make our way all the way back up. I don’t think I have any wood on me. No I do not. I’m pretty sure I just heard the clink of a skeleton! Let’s get on up. Get on up. Oh man, I’m so happy now. Uh-oh. It’s night time. I’m horrified about going outside. What we’re going to do is not go outside. We are going to get some wood. There we go. Get all this. And this as well. Cool stuff. Alright we have everything we need right here. Let’s start getting some stuff over here.

What I need first is quite a few sticks, actually. Let’s get this. No I didn’t need that. Darn it! I unintentionally made something I didn’t need whatsoever. What else? We need, what’s it called? How do I make a furnace in this? How in the world do I make a furnace? Here we go. No! Get away from me. No, don’t do that! Get away! Get away! Get outta here ya punk! Jeez, what a jerk! Knockin’ down my door! You could’ve just said “Hey, you want to party? “Dude, there’s a party on the street.” But no, it’s like “Hey let me in. I wanna jam!”

I say “No. You gotta ask. There’s politeness. “I don’t care if you’re dead, you’re alive, “you be polite to the Zebro or he’s gonna hit you “in the face with his wooden sword.” (laughs) let’s place this here and stop being so sill all the time. I know how to use a furnace.

I’m not that much of a noob. Let’s put the ingredient in. Here, there you go. One of these, of course. That should do the trick. Place one. There we go. I want to learn the interface and it’d be a lot more quicker once I do. Let’s get some food up here

’cause I obviously desperately need it. I also need to construct a stone sword. Obviously with that zombie experience that we just had, it’s very apparent that we need one. So let’s make one. Now we have one available to us. And, while this is cooking, now we do have these. Thank you.

Put those guys in. Let’s do a little bit of that. Let’s eat this up. Yum-yum-yum. Oh man, this music. This is some old music. I love this song. I thought I saw a pair of eyes back there in the light. We can see the night sky though. It’s so pretty.

I’d love to go outside and admire it but I’d be murdered. Let’s take a sleep. Let’s take a nap. Hopefully we don’t wake up to anything attacking us? Okay. That’s my biggest fear ’cause I know that can happen. Looks like we can see a zombie out there burning to death.

Crazy stuff going on here. Skeleton as well. Take that you darn skeleton. You deserve it! Oh man. My least favorite mob in the entire game is spiders. They are so scary. I don’t care what anyone has to say. There’s one. No, no, no, no! Time to face my fears. Time to be a man! I will fight this spider. I literally have chills right now. I’m so scared.

Got rid of it. Oh my gosh! This game can be too scary. I don’t care if its all pixel-y and blocky, its a scary game! It gives you that creepy feeling. We got to find the skeleton bones though. ‘Cause we’ve seen a number of dogs in the area. I thought we saw two.

Hopefully, we get this bone. Hey mister zombie, you are dead. We can find the skeleton bones and, hopefully, use that to attract the pooch and have a pooch pal. I’m not seein’ it. Oh well. Come here bone. There’s a dog, but no bone. Okay then. I guess we’ll just have to head back now. We did what we set out to do.

We went and we checked out the well. We chopped down parts of a jungle tree, which there’s also another jungle in the distance over there. We also was able to go all the way down and get some iron. And then we killed a zombie. We killed two of our first mobs.

Actually three if you count that one zombie that we hit before he burned to death. Cool stuff. We’re making amazing progress and I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode. Thank you so much for watching! I’ll see you guys later! Bye-bye.
