14 NEW Changes & Features in Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales Update!

You guys have been absolutely loving all of the Minecraft 1.20 update videos so without further Ado here are 15 additional features that you can expect to see in the Minecraft 1.20 trails and Tails update alright so starting off the list of new features coming in 1.20 we have some more Redstone capabilities

Redstone will be getting a huge buff in this update this right here is a brand new calibrated skulk sensor block that can be crafted using three Ms discharge a skulk sensor and you’ll get the new block type now if you guys watched my other video you’ll know that jukebox is

Now output a redstone signal and for the new calibrated skulk cinder block depending on the strength of that Redstone signal that is connected to the input side as you can see there’s a purple line connected to the Red Zone this is the input side whatever the strength is it will only sense these

Lists of vibrations on screen so 1 to 15 15 being the max Redstone strength and one being the weakest these are all the different Minecraft in-game vibration sounds that the new calibrated skull sensor blocks can listen to you now as an example if we put in pigstep it has a

Strength of 13 the sensor detects it but anytime I break a block as you can see there is nothing being sensed so anytime I place a block there isn’t a redstone output but anytime I break a block because there are different vibration pipes well this block doesn’t pick it up

And if we switch the order around placing it doesn’t give off any frequencies but breaking does it’s because of the Redstone signal being inputted to it it’s a little complicated and tentacle most likely won’t ever use this feature in Minecraft including myself but the next feature there is a

Good chance you can use and that is being able to extend or relay the distance that a skulk sensor notification can travel so let’s say you have a line of regular skull extensors and you place a block down the signal is only going to travel a few blocks to the

Next signal and it won’t be repeated but if you add a block of amethyst beside each sculk sensor these kind of act as repeaters so anytime a skull sensor picks up a vibrate as you can see it goes from the first to the second to the

Third and to the fourth so you can use this to chain react basically an infinite distance of skulk sensor vibrations so that let’s say you know you threw an ender pearl and a thousand blocks away you wanted that to end up having a reaction well then that’s not

Possible coming in at number three on the list of new things is the brand new suspicious gravel block it is virtually identical to the suspicious Sam in terms of you just brush it out and you search for whatever items are inside of it obviously since I spawned this block in

It won’t have any goodies in it in comparison this is a regular gravel block and a suspicious gravel block and these are the two suspicious sand and gravel types next to each other now where you’ll be able to find these new gravel blocks is in cold ocean ruins and

The loop pull for these is the exact same as suspicious sand whatever blocks and items can be found inside of suspicious sand can also be found inside of the suspicious gravel found in cold ocean ruins and a little bonus is and these you also get a nice chest that can

Have some pretty good goodies inside of it now if you’re a fan of warm ocean ruins well then you’re in luck because suspicious sand has been added to these so you get gravel in the cold ones and suspicious sand and the warm ones and once again use the brush hunt for the

Suspicious sand blocks and see if you can test your lock to get some of the new Pottery shards that I’ll be talking about in just a second before we could talk about the charge we need to talk about additional ways you can find these shards one of them being the brand new

Trail ruin now this is a brand new structure in Minecraft and it goes within the archeology section of the update and you’re thinking wow this looks pretty small on the surface but once you go underground you’ll quickly realize that this thing is chocked full of random block types like mud blocks

Glazed terracottas you got regular gravel sand and dirt and as you go on the plot types just keep on going it’s a pretty big underground snake that leads you on a treasure hunt and just for example if you were to do this for yourself trying to explore one of these

It kind of just dig around and it’s very obvious where this Trail is trying to lead you as you can hear I’m breaking suspicious sand along the way on accent because I’m just kind of flying through things but you almost go through different layers and types of blocks but

I think this feature adds a whole new layer of explanation into the trails and tales update now I mentioned brand new Pottery shards and they are an absolute ton of different decorated pottery shards that can be made these are all 20 of the brand new parts and you can

Recognize saying like skeletons the new sniffer that’s the warden there’s a hearts a broken heart there’s tons of different decorations you can make now with the available different Pottery shards that can be found in the new archeology portion of the update now along with new Pottery shorts there are

A few New Auburn trims that have been added to the game these four have been added inside of the new Trail ruins well these silent armor trim over here can only be found inside of ancient cities but I think this is probably the coolest looking armored trim currently in

Minecraft especially with the netherite and Diamond but Minecraft are really making it easy and accessible to customize your armor in this latest update not something I am hugely excited about is new mechanics when it comes to signs yes signs are receiving an update by simply right clicking on any sign

You’re able to edit whatever text you would like you can exit out oh wait you made a typo oh you could go back in and change your size now no need to break and replace your signs I’m a huge fan of this and it could also be done on the

New hanging signs you can say sub oh wait you wanted to say hello we’ll just enter it retype your message and a back output weight do you want to have a double-sided sign well then no worries because the back of the sign can now be edited so the front and the back can

Both contain text while also having the ability to be edited at any point in time I think this is going to be perfect for hanging signs because you can have directions like let’s say the town is this way you can say the town you keep running and you reach the town or let’s

Say the bakery is this way so you can have directions for different parts of your village on hanging signs which I’m definitely going to be incorporating into my builds now everyone knows about the brand new sniffer mob coming in this next update but Minecraft have just recently added this sniffer egg which

When you wow that is huge that is my first time seeing it but once you’ve placed on the ground you can now see the way in which these new mobs are going to spawn now there are some interesting mechanics with this Minecraft has said

That if you put a sniffer egg on top of a moss block it’ll take around 10 minutes for this to hatch but if you place it on any other block it’ll take around 20 minutes and this should speed up Minecraft’s in-game timer to show which one actually spawns first a few

Moments later okay it looks like I was wrong and game rule takes an updating the tick speed won’t actually do anything but just trust me it takes 10 minutes to hatch on a moss block and 20 minutes on any other block and if you’re wondering how you can get your hands on

These new sniffer eggs well they have been put inside site of warm ocean ruins Minecraft did not make it clear if it was inside the chests or if you have to go looking for a suspicious sand at these ruins as that is previously how sniffer eggs were on Earth I’m assuming

You’ll be able to find them in the suspicious sand oh well there you go there’s a sniffer egg we just got one inside of these suspicious sand that was a whole lot easier than I thought and so they are probably not located inside of the chest in these warm ocean ruins now

Once you’re able to get your hands onto sniffer eggs and they both hatch well how do you breed these fellas with using two torch seeds they’ll be able to then breed and give you more sniffer eggs without you having to go and actually search for them sometimes it can take a

Little bit long for them to actually breed and give you the egg and well it’s funny while we’re waiting for these guys to breed they just found a new pitcher pod which is the seat for the new pitcher flower okay these guys are being really stubborn okay it looks like it

Might take a few attempts to get them to breed but then this will be the animation and then it’s really funny because the egg doesn’t get put on the ground it just drops as an item like this so that’s what you’re looking for you’re just looking for a sniffer egg to

Plop on the ground you’ll pick it up and then you can put it down wherever you want now to grow the brand new pitcher pod into a pitcher flower you are going to have to have Farmland exactly like torch flower seeds it’ll take your pod you’ll put it down and you’ll see this

Huge hitbox which is pretty interesting but it does have five growth stages this is what a completed one looks like this is the first stage second third fourth and fifth all right there so then once you have this you’ll be able to harvest it using your hand and then you can go

Around and place it like normal so it won’t have this weird base attached to it as you can see it’s kind of like two different blocks on one that almost looks like a big old carrot in the ground but you can go around you can break it you can place it exactly like

The torch flower and I think Minecraft is doing a fantastic job of adding a ton of decorative blocks like the new pots torch flower and the Pitcher flour to give our world some more pop and the last new change coming to Minecraft one at 20 is actually carpet Walking sounds

So now instead of just hearing the carpet whenever you walk what they’ve done is they’ve layered the sound so whatever block the carpet is on top of you’re gonna mainly hear the carpet sound but as a secondary sound with a decreased volume and Pitch you should hear the block underneath the carpet

That you’re walking on so you should be able to hear me walking on grass a little bit and then same thing I can hardly make out the fact that I’m walking on wood but if you place two Carpets on top of each other it’ll be carpet on carpet

Which just sounds like normal carpet and then this right here is Stone so it’s a super small and subtle change but I guess instead of just hearing a bunch of carpet everywhere walk if you like to use this block you’ll now have some subtle audio cues to remind you of
