Have you come here to find some mods that work really well in VR? Because you’re going to get some! As you can see, I am back in Minecraft and I brought with me 20 more mods that should make Minecraft VR into a really amazing experience. This includes performance mods that should help with fps and we’re finally going to be looking at the much requested immersive portals mod, so make sure to stick around to the end to see the results of that. So with that out of the way, let’s get into it. We’re going to be starting this video off with a little bit of a scary mod, and it’s actually the thing that’s making noise right next to me. Spiders! Last video we added fresh animations, which made the spiders walk much more lifelike, but there was still something missing.. When a spider would walk up a wall. It just kind of looks like they’re floating and that’s not very immersive. Well, Nyfs spiders changes that and make spiders actually crawl up the walls, honestly, spiders already freaked me out. So this paired with fresh animations just takes it to a whole other level. I mean, just like those guys, they’re disgusting. And after playing with this for a while, I really couldn’t believe how well this mod works. That increasingly immersive-ness of spiders when you have a bunch of them crawling at you all at once, it really does feel like a completely different game! After that scary sight, let’s move on to something a bit calmer. Grass! Lambda better grass makes it so grass blocks connect more naturally. This one’s a bit more of a subtle change, but I think it really does make a big impact in the world. Next up, we’ve got the perfect accuracy mod! Aiming the bow is hard enough in VR. On top of this, vanilla Minecraft adds a level of inaccuracy to all your shots, which makes it even harder to aim perfect Accuracy fixes this, so you should have a much easier time landing your shots. Now. That is a nice that’s pretty accurate compared to before, right? That’s better. Now, a lot of you in the comments have been asking me to add dynamic trees. Unfortunately, it’s only on Forge and not Fabric. So I did some research to find a replacement. And what I came up with was HT’s Tree chop. This mod allows you to chop wood a bit more realistically with each hit, making the block thinner and thinner until you break it and the whole tree disintegrates instantly, meaning you won’t have to deal with any bushes floating in VR. When sitting down to research mods for this video, I realized something. There’s an area of Minecraft I haven’t really touched on that much yet. The Nether! The Amplified Nether mod does exactly what it says on the tin. It makes the Nether bigger, much bigger. It also makes the biome generation much more interesting. Exploring the Nether now feels a bit more expensive than in vanilla minecraft. Now let’s move on some mods that I’m really excited to show you guys. And that’s Yungs Better Mods. This legend has improved lots of structures in the game and has made them much more engaging and enjoyable to explore and discover. So let’s go through all of the ones I’ve downloaded. First off, we’ve got dungeons in the vanilla game. We’re pretty much just a square with a spooner and a chest, but with the Better Dungeons Mod, they’ve been given a bit more life and worldbuilding with their almost Being a stock hold of materials with barrels, chests and or deposits. Now let’s move on to one of my favorites. Mineshafts. The vanilla mineshafts were actually pretty cool in my opinion, but did get a bit repetitive. But with better mineshafts installed, we actually see a variety of biome specific mine shafts. This one, for example, appears to be some sort of like tree / wood biome mineshaft. It’s really cool. They also come with different rooms too, such as the treasure room or the barracks. Let’s take a look at ocean monuments, which in vanilla was still pretty aesthetic but Yung’s Better Ocean Monuments takes this to a whole new level. It honestly reminds me of Atlantis, but I’m not going to lie to you if you haven’t been able to tell just by the gameplay. The FPS in the monument is really, really low. I think it’s because of all of the mobs. But don’t worry, We’re going to be addressing the issue later on in this video. Why do you keep following me around? One of the more awesome changes has got to be the desert temples, which has gone from a little hut in the sand with a hole in the middle to a massive pyramid. When I saw this for the first time, I was blown away by it. And when I made my way inside the temple only got better. Now, I didn’t actually explore this too much as I do want to enjoy it naturally in my Let’s Play. But there were clearly some custom made puzzles in the structure, along with some booby traps, which is really awesome. I just want to say that this is probably one of my favourite one of his structures. Just because you can see the whole thing. A lot of his structures Are like underground or in the Nether and just look at it. It’s it’s so grand. It’s so cool. Let’s hop back into the Nether again and make some changes to the Never fortresses. In vanilla, these things were pretty bland, in my opinion. But now that Young has got his hands on it, we’ve got an actual fortress. Oh, okay. I’m digging this. This. This is awesome. Let’s go down there. This thing looks like a real castle now, with massive gates and statues to the Wither inside. I also downloaded Yung’s witch hunts and Yung’s extras as well. What I think Yung’s Better Structures does really well compared to the vanilla game is it makes these structures actually feel functional and lived in. And, you know, all of these structures have really, really impressive names like Stronghold Fortress Temple. But in Vanilla, they don’t really live up to that in my opinion. But this mod makes them live up to that. Take the stronghold for example. It has a barracks, dining areas, weapons, forge rooms, statues to the ender dragon and Nether portal rooms, just to name a few things. With these mods added, there is a ton more visual storytelling which when exploring these locations in VR, makes a massive difference. The next part of this video is an important one. In my first Minecraft VR video, we took Minecraft from a flat screen game to a VR game, and in the second video We made it even more immersive, adding some really cool sounds to the game. So in this video I wanted to put a focus on something a lot of you guys have been saying you’ve been having issues with in the comments performance, so I’ve downloaded about eight mods With the sole purpose of improving performance. I’ve gone to three different locations in-game to do these stress tests. The first one is an easy stress test the forest. The second is the medium stress test being in a village. And if you’ve been paying attention in this video, the final location I’ve decided on for this hard stress test is the updated Yungs Ocean Monument. Because that took a toll. Even on my PC, though, it would be interesting to see if the FPS improves there. Okay, so here we are in this forest. First of all, we’ve got 45 fps average before adding the performance mods and after we’ve got 58 fps, which is an increase of 12 fps. Pretty good. Before in the village, 45, 44 and after we have an increase again of about ten fps really, really good for VR increase there. And the most surprising one, the ocean monuments 26 fps in the ocean monument beforehand. Terrible. But after we got 39 nearly 40 fps which is a really big improvement! Now I can already hear some of you in the comments saying Ryan ten fps is not a massive increase in performance. Well, let me tell you this. It is in VR! Low FPS in VR makes you really motion sick. Therefore, any extra apps we can get is really important and can make the difference between being a playable experience and throwing up! Now let’s move on to the final Mod we’re going to be talking about today, the much requested immersive portals. You guys have been asking me time and time again to try this, so I thought I’d just show you what happens when you mix immersive portals and Vive Craft. Okay, we are back in Minecraft and as you can see, we have immersive portals installed. So I loaded up a new game is a bit laggy in the beginning and I even turned off shaders just to make sure that there would be no access lag. And I’m just going to let my live commentary do the talking. So yeah, let’s see what happens. All right. Without further ado, let’s see what happens. Okay. Yeah. This is what happened last time. Is it sort of like I can see everything through everything. And it doesn’t really it doesn’t really half work. If I, like, go through now, I’m in.. now I’m in darkness ummm Oh, hang on. This is completely broken. The game. Yes, this is completely broken the game. Yeah. So hopefully that clears things up for everyone. I really would love To get it working in VR, but it just doesn’t seem to be compatible. Hopefully in the future it will be. But how do you download all these mods really easily? Well, I’m happy to announce that on Curse Forge I have released my Ryans VR experience number two so check that out in the comments and in the description.
