Just when i thought i’d seen it all players on the oldest anarchy server in minecraft have begun to wage a war against water i wish i was joking you know how the youtuber mr beast started a campaign called team seas to clean up real-life oceans well a group of players Calling themselves team no seas have united to remove the massive player-made ocean that sits in the very center of 2v2t the spawn ocean is considered a modern marvel being comprised of 250 million water source blocks so removing it hasn’t exactly been easy despite using advanced redstone machinery to Remove much of the water the group has been met with resistance and as of the release of this video the conflict is still going on so what started all this why wage a war against digital liquid today we’ll discuss the origin of team noses cover the methods they are using To remove massive amounts of water and see just how close they are to accomplishing their seemingly impossible goal they are taking the phrase beach cleanup a little bit too seriously so how did this conflict over water actually start well it all began with a group named zenith these players were Some of the same ones that started the team no trees movement on the server about two years ago which intended to destroy every tree in the spawn region so in case you haven’t noticed by now anytime the youtuber mr beast starts a movement to help the environment 2b2t Players will do the exact opposite while this project had some degree of success it didn’t take long for trees to eventually return to the spawn region thanks in part to anonymous travelers using saplings and bone meal but regardless these same members of zenith noticed that the massive spawn ocean Which was built in 2020 was no longer serving its original purpose since the server will not spawn you directly in water it was intended to force players to spawn on the obsidian roof which would make them easy targets for pvpers but since the group that originally built the cube the infinity incursion Has now disbanded no one is actively patrolling the obsidian roof anymore members of zenith noticed that players would spawn on the roof find a hole and drop down into the water and swim to safety this allowed them to bypass some of the more hazardous terrain that tube tutti spawn is traditionally known for The group agreed that if the water cube was removed it would make the server more challenging again but removing it was considered a fool’s errand it contained over 250 million water source blocks it’s hard to picture how massive this actually is unless you actually experience it in person if you start From the bottom assuming you have no gear it’s nearly impossible to reach the top without drowning but the members of zenith knew that by themselves they would not be able to remove the water it would take a coordinated effort from many different players to eliminate it but how could they convince people to Sign on to what was seen as a monumental task if they had more workers it was doable but they needed something that was going to motivate people to join their efforts well on october 29th 2021 that motivation came in the form of mr beast revealing his team seize project to help Eliminate millions of pounds of trash from the oceans in real life the very next day team no sees was officially founded and the group began attempting to remove the massive spawn ocean at first their redstone designs were not exactly efficient but one of the members of Zenith a player named robert had come up with a more advanced design it could eliminate large amounts of water source blocks at once after proving how effective they were the group began a massive advertising campaign to attempt to bring in new workers pretty soon they Had a total of 110 people working on the project but even with a large group of players removing the water was no easy task the ocean its spawn went from bedrock almost up to build limit even under ideal conditions progress was going to be slow parts of the water cube had to be Sectioned off so that machines could work properly this required a large amount of obsidian it was obtained by mining duplicated ender chests an entire shulker full of them which could contain over 13 000 individual pieces of obsidian could be completely used up by the group in less than an hour that’s a Lot of obsidian to burn through even when things were running smoothly the group had to deal with players that were attempting to sabotage them many of these disruptors were random players or splinter groups from larger factions but they informally called themselves team seas to protect the ocean so now the Conflict was set in stone it was team seas versus team noses a war over water not only did their new rivals stop their machines but they would also place blocks of ice and then break them to create new water source blocks replacing the ones that were lost it’s hard to say Who the actual griefers are in this situation due to the complexity but let me put it like this the spawn ocean was built as a way to grief new players yet removing it could also be considered a form of briefing and sabotaging the machines removing the water Also qualifies as griefing so at the end of the day it’s griefers griefing griefers a tale as old as time this back and forth between the two groups was expected but it made team noses original plans more challenging instead of being able to eliminate the water in a clear and systematic pattern The sabotage attempts forced them to remove sections at random which gave the areas a very chaotic appearance they had to remove water starting with the top layers and then work their way to the bottom they could not remove an entire chunk of water in one go which forced Them to remain in specific areas for long periods of time this in turn made them more vulnerable to attacks all these factors combined should give you an idea of why progress was so slow by november 1st after about one month of work the group had managed to remove About 15 percent of the total spawn ocean or so they claimed anyway but after this they would see their progress halted even more as players around the server would begin to build lag machines dropping the server’s tps to the single digits this would prove to be a major disruption for redstone contraptions Draining the water the lag combined with the sabotage attempts and on top of the removal process being slow to begin with brought the project to an absolute snail space but they continued to power through having members online every single day doing their best to whittle away at the giant cube By early december team seas and team noses were still locked in conflict fights were happening all the time and machines had to be built away from the active battles to prevent them from being grieved instantly with the conflict still going on i decided to take a look for myself and see how Successful the team gnosis project had actually been at removing the ocean luckily i had an alt account already located at spawn the immediate area surrounding zero zero was still completely submerged while more structures have appeared in the area recently the water was mostly unharmed i started wondering if team noses had been Pulling my leg and there was no actual water removal but as i started getting further away it became clear that it was no joke they had actually succeeded in removing a decent amount of the spawn ocean giant areas of the cube were missing going all the way down to bedrock with Other areas not far off i even saw new players forced to escape using methods other than just swimming through the cube in other areas only the top layers had been shaved off implying that their machines must have been griefed during the removal process it was very interesting to see they still have a Long way to go before even half of the ocean is drained but they’ve proven that removing it is indeed possible it’s just incredibly resource intensive and time consuming as someone simply documenting the event i do not support one side or the other but what about you let me know Who you
