Long running survival economy server gives players four weeks notice to clear resources ahead of a world reset and upgrade to Minecraft 26.2 the first cleanup in five months.

Empire Minecraft has been running continuously for over a decade with an intricate player driven economy player shops and a massive shared world. One of the ways the team keeps performance stable is by periodically resetting the Waste the outer world area beyond the protected spawn where players can freely mine build temporary farms and gather resources.
Four Week Warning
In a post on the official forums chickeneer wrote that it has been almost five months since the last reset. The upcoming one is planned for around the end of July 2026 and will line up with the server moving to version 26.2. The team will first upgrade to 26.1 with no generation changes expected in that step.
Hey all it has been about almost 5 months since the last waste reset so here is a ~4 week warning that I plan to conduct a waste reset around the end of July 2026. So plan accordingly and fetch yer stuff near the end of the month.
A reminder will be posted on the front page and broadcast in game closer to the date. The admin noted the timing with the version update by adding Maximum confusion!!! but clarified in replies that the 26.1 step is purely for scheduling reasons.
Community reaction in the thread has been light and mostly positive with users liking the post and one making a waste pun. No complaints about the reset itself which has become an expected part of long term EMC life.
- Retrieve anything valuable from the Waste before the end of July
- Server will pass through 26.1 then land on 26.2
- Last reset was mid February 2026
- Reminders coming on the homepage and in game
Empire Minecraft remains one of the few true long term multiplayer experiences left in Minecraft. These resets keep the world healthy and the economy fresh. If you play there now is the time to start moving your outer world projects.
