Let’s make an okayish walk cycle in blender 2.9 two approaches create a walk-in place loop that later you animate the root bone or keep the root bone static and move the torso through the scene let’s use the second approach for more organic non-slipping animation enter the animation tab Shift a to add a floor to animate on and by mc prep spawn a player or simple player mob enter pose mode and then turn on auto key for laziness we’ll focus on extreme poses contact followed by midstep enter side view by clicking an axis or otherwise rotate your character’s view Move to frame one and then move the body centers that the legs go straight up and then move the torso back down just a little bit to cause the legs to bend rotate the body forward just a little bit now move one foot forward and another one back This is the contact pose where the legs are spread the most so don’t push it too far adjust the torso height if needed and again make sure the legs are actually touching the floor double check that you have three keyframes and then move to frame 11. select the back foot plus the body Center move it forward until both legs line up like this forcing consistency and the spread deselect the torso now and move the foot forward some more now select the other foot press g and then enter to keyframe in place or select the put’s prior keyframe and Use shift d to copy it forward to this frame repeat for a couple of steps moving 10 frames at a time play it back and double check that nothing is slipping or skipping now for each midstep select the body center and the foot that’s moving forward Bring them both up and forward a little bit do this between each of the contact poses now we can keyframe the arms on just the contact poses noting that arms go opposite the direction of the legs after the first two steps you can copy the keyframes with b And shift d to the other steps to finish off add some contrapposto to your contact poses double tap r to rotate the hip bone in the direction of the feet and the upper torso in the direction of the arms next up a run cycle animation Video Information
