Hey there it’s big tony and today i’ll be showing you how to build a castle ruins this ruins also doubles as a banded space and is complete with a level 30 enchanting table and a living area now before we start building i should warn you that due to the random Nature of this build this is not going to be a block for block tutorial rather it’ll be more of a conceptual tutorial so at the end of the video you’ll be able to build something similar but unique on the screen here are the materials that i used but the materials will vary And now here’s the layout that i’m using but i encourage you to design your own custom layout okay so to begin i’m just going to be using stone bricks and then i’ll texture it later but if you’re on survival you’ll want to build this out of a mixture of stone bricks Crack stone bricks and cobblestone so let’s start here at our archway which would probably be the most stable so it’s not going to be all run down we’ll start with three full blocks on each side then place stairs on top of each one and an upside down stair Then we’ll take some slabs and place one in the middle and three more on top now we’ll repeat this over here except this one is too wide so we’ll start with our three blocks then a stair and upside down stair and then we’ll just place two slabs on top Now for the rest of our walls i’ll start off by using all full blocks just to get the shape and this is where it gets a little bit more unexact so we’ll start from the archway and then kind of slope down until we hit the ground Then we’ll go over a couple of blocks and start going upwards again and i’ll just make it reach a high point somewhere around where it meets the other archway it’ll go down a little bit more and then another peak so all of our walls will be Kind of a series of peaks and valleys to make them look weathered and worn down now for this back side i’m just going to have one big peak so from here we’ll go up a little bit i’ll try to get the entire back side up three blocks high Then from here we’ll slope upwards towards the center and reach a high point somewhere around the middle then from there we’ll just go up a little bit to where the wall would meet the tower now over here on the other side of our main gate we’ll start high again And then slope down towards the corner then from here we’ll slope back up again to where it will meet the tower And finally we just have these couple of walls here so let’s just build these up this one i’m just going to keep it flat and this one maybe make it slow by one block and now for the tower on this back side of the tower i’m thinking this will be our high point Then it will get lower towards the front so let’s build this up somewhere between like 15 and 20 blocks And then that’ll be our high point and it’ll slope down from there so let’s build up these two a little bit shorter It’ll slope down pretty steeply so this one will be a few blocks each one will be a few blocks shorter than the previous in this center part here we’ll leave a space for a door so let’s break those bottom two and build this up like three or four blocks past that And this will be the low point so build these three and we’ll start going back up again then over here these ones again will be a few blocks shorter than that highest point and just kind of play around with the design until you get something that you like So i’m thinking this is looking pretty good for the general shape using just full blocks so the next step is to take our stairs slabs and walls and just kind of smoothen out all these full blocks to make it look more natural One thing to note here is that we need four full blocks of space so we can place a trapdoor right here that’ll be part of our big door leading into the room on this side of the gate i’m going to add some more blocks kind of overhanging in this entryway And then we’ll continue with the smoothening all right looking good so for the next step i’ll take our full blocks and stairs and slabs and a little bit of everything and just kind of scattered around the edge of the build because if we have these weathered walls That are kind of knocked down then the debris would be kind of scattered around the edge of the build and maybe someone used all that knocked down stone to support the walls to stop them from falling even more so let’s go ahead and do that all around the building Okay so one more step for the shape to make it look a little bit more run down is i’m going to replace some of these full blocks with stairs they look like missing bricks this is a pretty simple concept so i’ll go ahead and speed this up Okay so i mentioned before that this would all be a mixture of cobblestone and crackstone bricks as well as the stone bricks so if you’re on survival hopefully you’ve already done this but i’m going to go ahead and do it now on super speed And there we go as you can see the texturing really works wonders to make this look old and run down for the next step i’m going to take mossy cobblestone and mossy stone bricks and i’m going to mix it in with the grass at the base of our walls Next i’m going to take some coarse dirt and i’m going to fill in some of the grass in our little courtyard out here leave some spots that are still grass but fill in most of it next i’ll sprinkle in a little bit of tall grass So inside of the tower and inside of our main room i’m going to make the floor out of spruce wood so i’m using mostly spruce planks and a little bit of strip spruce logs first i’m going to sprinkle in a little bit of coarse dirt spilling into the room Then i’ll replace all this grass with spruce planks and i’ll place a couple of strip spruce logs as well if you want the floor to look a little bit more messed up you can also add some trapdoors in this room i’ll do the same thing sprinkling a little bit of dirt spilling in And replace all this grass with planks then we’ll mix in our strip spruce logs And now we’re ready to start decorating so i’m going to start with the tower first of all we want a door so i’ll place one door here and i’m going to place it on the outside of this block then i’ll take a couple more and just Fill in this little space here a couple more stone bricks on top of it i’m going to place three campfires and support it with a spruce fence gate this one will probably want a full block instead of a stair now let’s go inside and in here i want a level 30 enchanting table So start by placing down our enchanting table then we’ll place some random bookshelves and i think we need 15 bookshelves to get this to level 30. so place them all around it and check it this one’s only level 16 so we’ll need some more and we might need to break that trap door Let’s place one in the corner here maybe stack this up a little bit higher and there we go level 30. here i want to place a grindstone so i’ll break this bookshelf here to place the grindstone so it’s not so high up then we’ll need one more bookshelf so I’ll just place one in the corner next i’ll take a chest and place it up here and another chest over there let’s go up top here and build a little platform so i’m using spruce slabs just at this level of the lowest blocks of the tower now let’s make a staircase using spruce Stairs and slabs and trap doors we want this to look kind of run down and messed up like a rickety old staircase so i’ll place a trapdoor on top of this bookshelf and then we’ll just go up with mostly slabs we’ll need to break out some of those blocks And maybe one more stair to get up up here i’m going to extend this platform a little bit into the space now i’m going to break some of these blocks that are just kind of sticking out because they look kind of weird you’ll just have to jump up or you can Leave them there if you want then i’m going to use some spruce fence gates and upside down stairs to support the staircase a little bit more up here on the platform i’m going to make a railing out of fences and fence gates and i’ll place a lantern on there here I’m going to place a chest and a lectern and maybe one more fence there down on the first floor we need some white so i’ll place a fence post with a lantern on it and then i think we’re done with the tower actually one more thing you can do if You want is replace some of these slabs with trapdoors all right so now let’s go and work on the main room let’s start here by placing a couple of doors and trap doors above them and just flip those trapdoors now we need to build the roof so i’m Going to take some oak logs as beams place one on each side of the door then we’ll skip two blocks here and place another one now let’s make a staircase going up so i’m just gonna use a random mixture of stairs and full blocks and slabs such as have stairs going up here Down below we’ll support this with some upside down stairs and slabs in a fence post next we’ll fill in our roof using spruce top slabs and replace this with a slab because it looks kind of weird i’m going to add a couple of random wood piles just using slabs and trap doors And stairs actually right here i’m going to place two fence posts then on this side i’ll place an l shape of fence post two blocks high then i’m gonna make a roof out of some campfires and i’ll make those facing random directions don’t forget to extinguish those Then inside of here to decorate i’m going to start with a double chest then i’m just going to make a chair using a stair and two spruce signs and finally you’ll probably want to lantern somewhere around here to light it up so i’ll just place one there Now going down here i’m also going to place a lantern on this beam then under the stairs i’ll place two barrels and a couple of chests right next to those chests along the wall and place two trap doors and two beds to make a bunk bed and two More trap doors on the other side right here against the wall i’m gonna place two random blocks with a double chest on top then place three furnaces i’m using one blast furnace and two normal furnaces place a lantern here then let’s place a crafting table with a fern and a flower pot And then two smokers right here on top of one of these furnaces i’ll place an item frame with a shovel in it then i’m just gonna place a couple of random spruce buttons to make the floor look a little bit more rustic and the final decoration will just be a Fence post that you can tie your horse to i’m not sure how this guy got here but we’ll just go with it anyways that’s it for this build cue the cinematic you Video
