Hello i’m joe cab and welcome to building with joe cab now i’ve been map making in minecraft for a really long time so i thought i’d start a tutorial series today we’re gonna keep it simple and we’re going to build this really unbelievably small house and it kind of small This house right here now first you gotta decide the shape of your house there are various different shapes you can use but i’m gonna stick with the boring rectangle for today make sure to also make your house big enough because if you don’t the inside will be absolutely tiny and claustrophobic So my process for making these kinds of houses goes a little bit like this first build a solid foundation out of stone any kind of stone will do just experiment with it then create support pillars around your stone foundation to give it more thickness then use stairs to give it more geometry Making it look a lot more detailed you can try adding variating patterns to the foundation to give it more detail as long as it stays within the same color palette these little details make the build look a lot more delicious next make your house frame out of your preferred log block I prefer dark ones because it makes me think about the undeniable fact that the universe will one day end that we’re just all peons drifting in the void waiting for an inevitable death bring the four corners up and put additional logs in between those to add more geometry And then close the top of the structure with logs what i really like to do is to extrude the corners of the structure to give it a cabin vibe you know what the cabin that those yeah those yeah after that fill the inside of that structure with your preferred wood block That fits the color palette do not make walls within the log structure itself because you will lose depth after that add stairs for more geometry we’ll leave holes for windows you can also give your walls different materials as long as it fits the color palette Then we can start the roof now there are a lot of roof styles you can make here’s every single one of them But we’re just gonna stick with the simple stair roof which tears the spikes on top so go ahead and make the roof out of stairs of your favorite wood color and if you want you can make it so that the edges of your roof are made of stone In my case i’ll use stone brick stairs to make it look extra solid for the side walls just use some logs in the same wood type you used earlier for the walls put stairs on the underside of your roof to thicken it and hide those horrible horrible tiny joints Now the roof looks good but kind of flat and empty it’s like my life so here’s a question what can we add to a roof to make it a little more interesting is it a a chimney b trusses or c multiple levels comment down below what do you think the answer is Actually it’s d roof windows so go ahead and find the middle of your roof to build your window and start making a smaller roof perpendicularly put walls and a hole and you got a window you can either make only one or two or three or four or five but i’m gonna stick with Two because it fills pretty much the whole roof at last i’m going to add spike looking things on the top to give it additional detail and also because it’s just a look i really like i also most of the time extrude the extremities of the roof with stairs you Can make these as big as you like or just not put any last step is detail and it is very subjective To make your house stand out you can add small details around my three favorites are plant pots lanterns and more extruding pillars i usually add flower pots below windows because it makes sense for someone living there to just open the window and watered flowers for lights i usually put them right in Front of the entrance to light up any visitors that are coming in and for pillars i just put them everywhere you can also add window shutters but don’t go too heavy on the geometry though there can never be too much detail but there can be too much geometry go ahead and experiment with Details that you think make sense and add to the overall aesthetic this method of making houses works with any block if you’re creative enough so go ahead and experiment with different shapes and defining features give your house as much story and personality as possible after that you’re pretty much done at This point all is left to do is realize how bad the house looks give up cry and wonder how you got to the point of making minecraft tutorial videos anyway here is the final result Oh yeah i forgot something interior decoration well it’s quite simple for the interior you simply have to You Video Information
