[Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Sh Sh Looking at Minecraft after it’s amassed literally over a trillion views on YouTube alone you could say it’s a simple game a textbook op sandbox world with the whole point to the game being similar to that of playing with Lego you enter a randomly generated world with no instruction No missions no quests no other characters even just you in Minecraft’s endless grade of possibility you may very well use hundreds of verbs when describing all that is possible in the game as simple as Minecraft’s premise sounds Mojang took it and turned it into a completely unique gameplay experience From the oddly Charming cubes that make up every visual in the game to all the mobs and biomes Minecraft is at the very least distinctive even to the average person who may have never played a video game Minecraft has set its identity apart from everyone one in so many ways Including in such a way that sets apart nearly any major video game title the such way that I’m referring to is at the core of thousands of Minecraft videos and online discussions that such way is the lore the silly block game does indeed have a fair amount of lore even If most of it is admittedly purported by fans rather than the official Minecraft parent company Mojang Minecraft’s premise as described makes for a uniquely creative playing experience and with that it’s only inevitable that player creativity will extend beyond the gameplay alone as basic as Minecraft sounds due to the way that I’ve Described it it will sprinkle in its own original aspects in order to carve out more of an identity many of its naturally generated structures dimensions and mobs are entirely the developers own ideas these aspects are primarily where most other Minecraft lore originates the most enthralling Minecraft lore that exists manifests due To a couple things a cave Ambience and B two particular music discs with those those two factors being listed you probably know what lore I’m referring to especially if you’re familiar with my YouTube channel the Minecraft cave sounds Theory what is the cave sounds Theory what even are cave sounds what Music discs am I referring to in this video we’re going to attempt to better understand and examine the Minecraft cave sounds Theory and what it means for the Game I’ve covered the cave sounds Theory extensively in the form of two videos but in the years since their creation not only Minecraft but my understanding of the theory has changed greatly I’ve tried lumping together cave ambients music discs 11 and 13 underground structures and even hell the warden but I’ve done so in ways that looking back may have been early conclusions I’ve read and replied to literally thousands of comments from viewers under my original cave sounds Theory video since its release I’ve come to the conclusion since that I really need to redo my take On the theory and not only that but dramatically change it let’s start with what I believed 3 years ago the widely accepted and most universal theory is that all the cave Zounds when put in a certain order Rec count a single Minecart disaster among a group of Miners it is presumed to be a Sinister and fatal ordeal due to the Eerie sounds and the ties it has to music disc 11 as well as 13 admittedly I have now come to believe this to only be partially true I will start with saying that I do in fact Believe that cave Ambience makes up a story that of a violent multi- Minecart incident that has already happened before the time we hear the ambient noise furthermore I no longer believe that music discs 11 and 13 are tied into the same story of what I’ll now temporarily refer to as the cave Ambience Minecart travesty what do I now believe the music discs are about then 2 years ago I played through both music discs and compared them separately even though it wasn’t a year earlier that I played them together and pointed out how well they complimented each other I Declared in that L video though that it was a story of a minor who seems like he was in trouble being chased and nearly making it to the mind’s entrance before likely being killed by an Enderman all of that I still believe to this day only I’d like to make a clear Declaration of that theory rather than the looser versions of it that I made previously and as I’ve stated I no longer believe that this music disc story is tied to the cave Ambience Minecart travesty story let’s now separate the bulk of This cave sounds Theory video into two parts a cave Ambience Minecart travesty Theory section and a music discs incident Theory section what is cave Ambience Ambience is described by Google as the character and atmosphere of a place Minecraft’s caves are dark and both structurally and entity imposed dangerous filled with Mobs that would like to hurt you Minecraft caves are ominous the biggest contributor to that one-word description of caves is by far their sounds in fact these sounds are so largely a part of the overall Ambience of caves that they referred to Simply by the game files as Its Ambience there are 19. OG files under the cave Ambience folder in the game files these files are numbered cave 1 through cave 19 and each plays a particular audio in essence each. OG file is a cave sound so for example cave C 1. OG is more commonly known as Cav Sound 1 a cave. OGG file triggers in the game only in caves Ravines or otherwise Hollow places underground like a m Shaft or a room they trigger based on Minecraft’s mood algorithm the deeper and darker player gets the quicker the algorithm moves from 0% to 100% when the Algorithm hits the 100% Mark a random cave sound of the 19 options triggers and the marker goes back to 0% thus resetting the cycle and short a random cave sound plays more often the deeper and dark you are these cave sounds that play are meant to be scary meant to Increase that scary Ambience of the Minecraft underground but is that all they are just random spooky noise personally I don’t believe so and neither do many players and thus the cave sounds theory was born there are many different iterations of the cave sounds Theory but the main theory is That all 19 sounds come together to play the start and eventually the end of a massive Minecart Collision that is already occurred I’ve previously played every single sound in order and described them all as such all Minecart noises and impact noises but after years of thought and reconsideration I hear Things differently I no longer believe in a minecart crash Theory but rather a sort of M shaft rail collapse Theory I’ve replayed every sound and put together a timeline of what happened to a considerable number of miners who very well perished in a minecart travesty that happened long ago I believe there Were many Minecarts traveling along M shaft rails when suddenly there is some sort of collapse of said rails over a large underground Gap that sent all of the Minecarts inhabitants to their deaths below as you can see cave sound 14 is where I believe things began to go Wrong for the minecart miners you can also see that I’ve interpreted a lot of those impact noises as more of collapsing noises now I’ve done this half due to the fact that the supposed impact noises just don’t sound violent enough to be Minecarts crashing directly to one another at such high speeds so There must be a different type of impact happening the other half of my reasoning is that there is more of an echo on the sound like a falling or impact noise lasting longer than a sudden crash noise would to give you Insight on this entire timeline I’m going to play each sound Along a description of what they are for you Now While I believe that this is a reasonable explanation of the meaning of the 19 cave sounds in order I’ll remind you that there are very many takes on what they may actually mean whatever the real truth is I like to believe in what I’ve described what I call the minecart rail collapse Theory Now that we’ve discussed the truth of that part of what was the cave sounds Theory now I feel I need to amend the music discs 11 and 13 relation to it again I no longer believe that the music discs have anything to do with the minecart rail collapse I do however Believe that they are their own story and an extremely terrifying one at that what are Minecraft music discs in short There are 16 unique music discs in Minecraft and each one has its own track on it each one is obtainable in some way some rarer than the next 14 of the Tracks are instrumental songs some exciting some viby and some borderline monotone but there are two discs completely different from the rest and most interestingly as similar to each other as they are different from the rest music disc 11 is the most unique it plays very depressing sounding music Setting a dark and creepy tone throughout it you hear a man coughing a flint and steel being lit Pages flipping and ultimately a fast and horrifying chase that ends with the horrible sound playing before the recording goes flat I’ve already deducted that the sound playing at the end was more likely than Not an Enderman attacking the player who seems to have nearly made it out of the M shaft before perishing music dis 11 is a story it’s not music not a tone Setter though music dis 13 is music dis 13 is a regularl looking disc compared to the Rest especially compared to music dis 11 though they say to never judge a book by its cover music dis 13 is horrifying it sends Goosebumps down your spine it’s if creepiness was a person and tried to make music the horror really sets in at the minute 45 Mark though when you hear A hiss then a massive violent explosion with a ton of echo presumably due to it taking place in a cave following the explosion you can hear a water splash and then something exiting the water followed with rapid footsteps that cut off quietly with the track then ending While the minor running for his life in dis 11 sounds like a complete completely different scenario than what is happening at DIS 13 it is actually the same incident occurring here’s audio of both music discs being played together the starts being trimmed down to match their endings I warn you the explosion In water splash and dis 13 triggering the miners Dash for’s life in dis 11 is horrifying to listen To Sh What I don’t even really feel the need to further explain my understanding that both these discs are meant to be played together once hearing those tracks now that we know these discs make up a story what exactly happened in it a miner is lost in the Min shaft he’s trying to Light to flinton Steel presumably to light up his surroundings he’s coughing pretty badly as well indicating that he’s in poor condition if you listen closely you’ll hear little Enderman chirps in the distance but I assume the miner is unaware of them as there’s no audible response to them he begins Flipping or opening papers quickly making me wonder if he has a map or a guide but then it happens the explosion in music dis 13 you very quickly hear him light up a flint and steel again but awful music begins playing suggesting he sees something extremely concerning coming his way the intensity explodes And we hear his heavy breathing and Rapid footsteps hitting the solid ground before long he’s sprinting even faster but this time on dirt this makes me believe that he was ascending to the surface as that much dirt suddenly present in front of him would suggest as Such then just as he feel like he’s going to make it out we hear an Enderman Screech and the disc ends the most crucial area of wonderment in this story is that explosion what caused that we know an Enderman is responsible for the Minor’s demise in the music disc Incident surely that explosion was part of what allowed the Enderman to get to the miner I have two ideas of what caused it a the hissing sounds very similar to a creeper hiss and the timing of it before its explosion stands up to a creeper’s timing could it be that the Creeper detonated itself in an effort to have the Enderman Kill The Miner B the hissing is also very similar to in TNT being ignited Enderman do have unique ability and that they are able to pick up and place blocks it could be that TNT was placed by an Enderman although its Detonation by an Enderman would be extremely difficult to rationalize what’s puzzling is that both of those ideas can’t even explain what hit the water after the explosion happened here’s the problem it can’t be an Enderman hitting the water as we all know Enderman aren’t able to the hit Water I’d hate to say it’s debris hitting the water as you do hear faint footsteps following that Splash this part of the theory could be explained as another entity hitting the water than leaving it lending credit to the idea that a creeper blew up something if a creeper helps the Enderman it’s possible Another hostile mob was in the fold maybe it’s a zombie or skeleton or even a spider whatever the explosion is about we know that the miner heard it happen in the near distance and that the explosion was done in order to get to the minor as he was presumably already On the run from something with all all of that being said I think I’ve given a good explanation into what I dub the music disc incident Theory with both of those theories being explained as separate events it becomes clear why I don’t believe them to be connected there are few main reasons why A the music disc incident is about one minor running from an Enderman dying at the hands of one the minecart rail collapse theory is about many miners dying at the hands of a structural disaster rather than those of a malicious mob B the explosion that Occurs in dis 13 could not be part of the minecart rail collapse Theory the rail collapse we hear happens throughout sounds 14 and on happening in parts that explosion her in music dis 13 ends with only a single object or entity hitting the water if the explosion in dis 13 Were to be what causes the rail collapse we would have heard many miners Minecarts debris Etc hitting the water even in dis 11 it is very unlikely a minor both survived the rail collapse just to be hunted down by an Enderman as well you’d very likely have to try and Say that the Enderman is what caused the rail collapse which again I’ve doubted an Enderman would even have the means to light a TNT block much less collapse an entire Railway alongside many other holes you could poke into a potential link between the two theories the three Reasons I’ve given are strong ones the minecart rail collapse Theory and the music disc incident Theory are not connected they are two separate horror stories that elevate Minecraft lore Minecraft is an incredible game one that enthralls us with this lore seeming ly carefully placed underneath the game primary mission to entertain and immerse Us with its creative possibility there are many audience draws under the Minecraft umbrella streamers playing hardcore redstoners creating technical wonders YouTubers playing fascinating challenges and even People Like Us analyzing the game’s lore the minecart rail collapse and the music disc instant theories are good for Minecraft they Keep us interested in the game get us thinking but most importantly they let us be creative Video Information

In this edition of Minecraft Declassified, we go back 3 years, and take another look at the Cave Sounds Theory. A lot of things have changed within the years since the original Minecraft Declassified was created; not just Minecraft, but the Theory itself. In this video, I’m going to explain the truth of the Minecraft Cave Sounds Theory.
