Hello guys my name is Kru in two welcome so we pretty cool looking ice farm this thing’s pretty easy to build it functions really well and the cool thing about it is it almost uses no redstone it’s really simple to build I’m gonna be giving you guys a full tutorial on it But first let me go ahead and tell you guys how this thing works so ice worms are nothing new they’ve been in the game for quite some time now but what’s different about this ice farm is it uses almost no redstone which is really interesting furl the piston pushing it uses a Minecart and activator rails now this idea was brought up by etho I went ahead took his design modified it a little bit more made it a little bit more efficient and some I thought this design was really interesting and really a different way to build an ice farm that Doesn’t require too much redstone so as long as you got the iron that’s needed to craft the rails you should be good to go this thing does also require a bunch of pistons but you will get tons of ice from this machine so don’t wait let me Go ahead explain how it works here real quick so we have all of these water source blocks in the back and they have water blocks behind them and to the left and right this way the water blocks go ahead and get refilled every time an ice Is frozen so when the water goes ahead and freezes it turns into ice obviously and we have a minecart that runs around and pushes the ice blocks up then we have it trigger a line of redstone over here all we have is two repeaters two torches and this goes into a line of Redstone that goes ahead pushes the blocks to the left and then we have the minecart go along and this pushes the ice blocks going up and essentially this process of having the ice build up to 12 blocks high and then get pushing over to the next layer keeps happening over and Over again until you end up with a giant tube of ice which you can go ahead easily harvest with a silk touch efficiency five pickaxe and you’ll be good to go with pretty much an unlimited amount of ice okie dokie so getting started with the tutorial the first Thing that you guys are going to want to do is collect a lot of detector rails and a lot of Pistons you’re going to need a lot of those that’s pretty much all that’s used for this farm but anyway getting started with building what you’re going to want to go ahead And do is pick out a nice little area and you’re going to want to place in normal rail and then sixteen detector rails going down just like this now this is the recommended size so you can obviously make it bigger you can make it smaller do whatever you want to do just Make sure you do an even number of rows so this row that I’m doing here it’s going to be sixteen detector rails long then we’re going to curve in and then we’re going to go sixteen detector rails long again now you have to have an even number of rail doesn’t matter how many You have we’re going to go ahead make sure those don’t connect up and then we’re going to go sixteen back this way and we’re going to want to do this a total of six times all right so now I have six rows of detector rails all 16 Long there you go one two three four five six and they are 16 long now at the end here what we’re going to go ahead and do is we’re going to go ahead curve this block around here I’m going to place a redstone block and then connect Them up like this and you’re going to want to make sure these are powered rails this is going to give your minecart the boost that it needs to go around this curve make sure this one’s a powered rail as well now because this track is so long we’re going to actually Break these two rails down here I’m going to go ahead place them with some redstone blocks and we’re going to put some powered rails over here this way the minecart has enough power but what I recommend is testing it with a minecart with a chest and seeing if you need to Add more powered rails or not because depending on how big you make this thing that is going to change the amount of powered rails that you need but for this specific design this is what I recommend and if you go ahead and grab yourself a little minecart with a chest in it all You’re going to want to do is go ahead plop it over here give it a push and make sure it can go around the entire track okay so now that we have our minecart going around the track we’re going to want to start placing our piston so go ahead oopsies click on the Side of the rail just like that and we’re going to want to put a bunch of normal Pistons all facing up and do this all the way down again it will depend on how long it is how many Pistons that you need to place but there we go we have Pistons going all the way down now we’re going to want to place blocks on the back side this is where our water is going to go go up and this is where our first water clock goes and we’re going to sort of go around this area just like so and do the Same thing on the other side so around it and now we’re going to want to sort of start placing our pistons so on top of every detector rail you’re going to want to place a normal piston facing up so it’s going to be a lot of normal Pistons this is the the very tedious part and the part that’s going to take a long time but trust me you will have more than enough ice okay just finish placing every piston facing up on top of every detector rail and some now we’re pretty much done with the farm all we Have to do now is go ahead and place our water bucket so go ahead make sure this block is filled in and also over here on this side that way the water can’t escape and you’re going to want to fill this entire thing up with water this is Where your water is going to freeze and turn into ice I also want to point out that you should build this machine in some sort of biome that does turn water into ice that way your machine actually works if you’re unsure of what biomes do That you can look it up on the Minecraft Wiki they’re easily tons of different biomes out there now that can do this so anyway anyway now that you have your water sources here you should notice that as the Pistons push the water out of the way the water automatically Refills but you’re going to want to keep these guys on the corner here from freezing and you’re also going to want to keep the guys in the back from freezing so to do this go ahead place a block there and here is where you’re going to want to place all of your Normal pistons facing this direction this is going to push all of the ice onto the sort of tray that pushes them up so we’re going to go ahead place pistons whoopsies I’m having troubles here all right place Pistons going all the way down and then on this side we’re Also going to want to place a block right there that way the water doesn’t turn into ice and make sure they’re all water source blocks in the back and you should notice that they keep refilling as the minecart goes past okay so one final step you may have noticed that on The end here I did place one extra detector rail and some right now it’s currently not doing anything but what you’re going to want to do is go ahead and go under it so it’s this block right here and you’re going to want to place two repeaters so one facing this Direction for ticks delay another one vortex of delay have this guy going into a block a redstone torch a block a redstone torch and then we’re going to go ahead and start placing blocks here we’re going to want to go ahead go all the way down to the End and then at the end we’re going to place a block right on the top and then please redstone all along the back just like so and a block right there and there you have it that is the ice farm done it is finished and it did take A lot of iron as you can see from all the rails and the pistons but it was really easy to build didn’t require any redstone didn’t require any clocks all it’s doing is having this minecart go in circles and that’s just triggering one line of redstone up there and also Triggering all those pistons so pretty simple to build it isn’t the most resource friendly but it is by far probably the most least complicated design out there and it works fairly well now obviously you can change it if you want to make this shorter than the Ice tray will fill up faster you can obviously make this longer than 16 blocks wide and then you’ll just need some repeaters up there but I’m sure you guys can figure that out anyway hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial is definitely a lot of fun to make this little farm And hopefully it shows some use in your guy’s a survival world other than that my name is true hope you guys enjoy and I will see you guys next time adios Video Information
