Step 1: Download Java Runtime Environment
Before you can set up your Minecraft server, you’ll need to download the Java Runtime Environment. You can find the download link here. Make sure to select the appropriate version for your operating system and follow the installation instructions.
Step 2: Download the Minecraft Server Jar
Once you have Java installed, it’s time to download the Minecraft Server Jar. You can find the download link here. Choose the version that you want to use and save the file to your computer.
Step 3: Setting Up the Server
After downloading the Minecraft Server Jar, create a new folder on your computer and name it something like “MinecraftServer.” Then, open the folder and place the Server Jar file inside. Next, create a new text document and name it “console.txt.”
Configuring the Server
Open the console.txt file and paste the following command:
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar nogui
Save the file and rename it from console.txt to console.bat. Then, double-click the console.bat file to start the server.

Customizing the Server
Once the server is running, you can customize it by editing the server.properties file. You can change settings such as the server name, game mode, difficulty, and more. Save the file after making your changes.
Step 4: Connect to Your Server
Now that your server is up and running, you can connect to it from the Minecraft game. Open the game, click on “Multiplayer,” and then “Add Server.” Enter “localhost” as the server address and save the settings. You should now see your server listed in the multiplayer menu.
That’s it! You’ve successfully set up your own Minecraft server using your PC. Now you can invite friends to join you and start building and exploring together. Happy crafting!
