How to Build a Dragon in Minecraft: Simple Tips and Tricks!
Hola, bonjour, guttentag or however you say hello in your language! Welcome to a beginner’s guide to building dragons in Minecraft. This video will be broken up into two different parts: the first one being the foundations of building dragons in Minecraft, and the second one will be me building a dragon and showing you how I did it. So without further ado, let’s go ahead and hop straight into the foundations of building dragons.
Foundations of Dragon Building
The first step with building anything in Minecraft is choosing your color palette. You want to pick things that complement each other and go with the theme of your build. Another important aspect of building dragons is determining where the spine is going to go. In order to do that, make a simple line to mark where the dragon’s spine will be. This will determine where exactly where to build things and where to put certain appendages. Also, make sure to mark out where the shoulders and the hips are going to be because this will help you out a ton later down the road. Make sure that your spine follows the curve you want your dragon to follow.
The next and arguably most important part of a dragon are its wings. For the purposes of this, the parts that resemble a human hand are referred to as fingers. The more outstretched you want the wings, the further the fingers need to be spread apart. If your dragon is diving or swooping, the fingers are going to be pointed more inwards. Look at your own hand to figure out how exactly it moves, and translate it into what you’re building here.

Now that the fundamental basics are out of the way, let’s go ahead and look at what was done to build the dragon and some tips and tricks. Start by defining where the shoulders and the hips are going to be, and then either do the wings first or the body first. Experiment with some dragon head designs before building your own. Use gradients when building your dragon because it makes it seem more realistic and interesting. Replace some of the ending parts of the fingers with slabs to make it thinner and give it more detail. Work on the wing webbing by defining where it’s going to go and make it arch a little bit in between the fingers to resemble a bat wing.
Ta-da! You have a dragon. I hope you enjoyed this video and if you did, be sure to let me know down in the comments below. Also, if you have any questions or anything relating to building dragons, let me know!
