DSD Does Minecraft – Exploring Train Mechanics and Station Setups in Create Arcane Engineering – Episode 7

Lots to do lots to do no time to do it we’ve got to sort out lava and this look good it’s going to be a train station sort out lava because we need to make obsidian because we’ve got to make sturdy sheets which you get from

Obsidian look you can see this in the quest line down here we need obsidian because we need sturdy sheets because we need sturdy mechanisms because we want to make trains and we can make trains that will go through and get the lava from the nether we can make a train that

Will go over and get our Sky Stone and I’m going to make a train that is going to move our runic slates from down here all the way to our base aha you can see I’ve already moved them from right down there to up here with this contraption

It’s a rope pulley which will push down there a bit of redstone magic going on up there with a clock Redstone ticks this this goes down Inc come the runix slates comes back up and out go the runix slates but first of all we’ve got to get this obsidian sorted so how are

We going to get obsidian we’re going to get obsidian from magma blocks and I went mining for magma blocks cuz we got about a thousand there but there is a way of getting magma blocks automatically we just can’t do it yet in a mechanical drying Bas and with lava

You can make magma blocks so we will eventually do that but we haven’t got RF yet or anything like that so for now we’ve just got this 1,000 odd and then with that we put the magma blocks through a washing process and they become obsidian and then we’ll have to

Crush the obsidian in crushing Wheels to turn it into obsidian dust we can then take that obsidian dust through a process to turn it into sturdy sheets and we already have crushing Wheels but how did we make them well I have a crafting room up in my tower so I’ve

Come upstairs and look at this a beautiful 5×5 crafter and a 3X3 crafter this guy can craft automatically my sturdy machines my brass machines all we have to do is pop in uh a brass casing and let’s say eight of the these eight of them and they go through look the

Brass casings in the middle then you’ll get the eight of them and look it just does it and there’s our brass machine I could do that with ersite machines as well if I get one of them out oh I haven’t got any of the other things on

Me this works through if you clear my inventory if you uh connect these so if you’ve got a wrench in your hand you can see you can connect them and disconnect them um if you connect them all up and then I’ve got a filter going on down

Here so this is an input into that middle one and this is an input into the ones that are all connected so these are all connected around the edge the middle one isn’t and that’s coming through and then in my in between floor if I can get

Down here you can see I’ve got the chest my input chest comes onto this belt and then that’s a filter for the casings and that’s a filter for the mechanisms otherwise it goes back in the chest up here and it works aha we need to go and

Set up our Factory for making sturdy sheets let’s get this sorted out so first step is washing of our magma block so we’re going to go through the usual steps um you may have noticed I’ve been decorating as well so I’ve actually put andesite casings instead of the grass

Nice edging on things and some nice nice things and things um and I’ll show you some other bits later we have to now pipe this out of here wash it and accept it as obsidian so nice and simple double out you’ll notice I have a fancy Cobalt

Pickaxe um I had a bit of a problem and I lost a lot of stuffff died in lava and then something went wrong with the Rave mod and I don’t know what happened and I lost all my stuff so I’ve had new stuff and but anyway um we we know that

Happens right uh we need a fan in put a few fans here can’t we o let’s get some glass really should put glass in one of my boxes so I’m going to I’m going to put glass in my corbits and that means I can actually go there and get some glass

Don’t forget tool boxes don’t have to be just for create stuff um I’ve got one here that’s full of redstone stuff look it’s got Redstone in it and things like that and I’ve got another one now with all of our andite tunnels and funnels and shoots and things anyway back we go

My water chalice thing oh I lost my water chalice that is quite actually upsetting cuz that was a really really handy yes that was really handy um go back up Miss excellent water buckets water done and let’s Pew there then get another one

Do it here can’t I we go now we can put our belt back going to have a draw for the obsidian face you that way we’re going to have a funnel on there and we will Beck that to obsidian so it sticks here um I think I’m going to put that to

Uh it does 16 at a time we know we’ve got 16 at a time obsidian being created so now we just need to power it lots of power uh I do this vertical gear Bo there please be the right way we’ve actually overstressed our system I am amazed we have finally overstressed it

Okay well I think we have another another set of things over here don’t we yes we do get these connected gearing up is what we do we like I’m singing again apologies we are trying to get this all connected and we think we have done it are they blowing or are they

They seem to be blowing excellent now we should be able to but we’re going to remove you for now should be able to put a pusher Pusher in here I haven’t got any of them on me either and of course I shouldn’t need a pusher just need to get

The belt moving because I didn’t do the belt uh that was silly wasn’t it right um where’s where’s the belt belt is there so we probably stuck I’m stuck okay we got go this way uh we want to make sure we come off a this we want to

Make sure we probably come in there don’t we yes can come in or we could do that here about it probably do a belt thingy here I reckon do to there right you are now turn and it’s just a matter of making sure you turn in the right

Direction we can do we could put a gearbot here looks like that’s not be the right way we not the right way but the beauty is all you have to do is take you out and pop another gearbox in now you will be the right way we should be

Washing magma magma there we go and we’ve got dirt on there for some reason we are so if I now take we now pop you there you are now locked we need to lock you uh lock you to obsidian we have obsidian going to very quickly burn

Through the Thousand go like that go like that very quickly going to burn through the Thousand or so of these but that’s all right and it’s doing them Ines of 16 which is perfect all step one Done Right we’ve got this all sorted I think you’re not you’re not a vertical

Gearbox that’s why right so we’ve got things spinning the right way um that was worrying and you are going the wrong way so annoying the vertical gear box I’m going to AutoCraft the gear boxes I think the same way we’ve done the machines so I don’t know whether this

Works or whether I need to put shoots on the front of that or not but I’m going to take a piece of obsidian and I’m going to drop you on there and you do excellent and then how do I let me do I fix this I essentially am going to just

Move this guy one over water there though don’t I which we should be able to do yes water water water uh belt away everything belt Bel uh need put a Shar in in there right you’re good and we need our funnel we go jump cuts are good

Aren’t they suddenly there was no grass yes I put and theight casings down over here because I think it looks nice it’s got this nice little border on it and you may notice and or you may have noticed in the last clip that the oops oh dear but these were spinning very

Fast and that’s because of course I don’t need to do the gearing up thing anymore because we have access to rotational speed controllers they’re they’re just a brass machine in a stone cutter so we can actually do all of our gearing up now with those guys which

Makes so much easier so this is all running at Max Speed this little setup and now we’re just about to work out how we handle the obsidian and the dust um because essentially this has a 75% chance of giving us another piece of obsidian as well as dust so we can

Handle the dust um we just need to then create a bit of a loop for the obsidian a belt pleas that Loop basically we need to run the obsidian back we can probably just run it back onto here um which is going to be fine actually we could do

That with belts and funnels this is another reason to use andesite casings um in your mechanisms a much easier to break right so we need belt to go from here to that’s going to one further there goes one further because we put a gear box here got any left that is got

One gear box left then we want uh belt there there go there and there the gearbox could go in here and everything’s running the right way and now we get our funnels and tunnels we’re going to put a brass funnel there and we’re going to say obsidian goes this

Way and obsidian dust goes that way perfect and then we could put a chest there and a thingy there and that should we put the funnel on the end here we set it to 16 that 16 again and now we are getting dust and obsidians running around in

Circles there you go there’s another piece of obsidian awesome right next we’re just putting putting the finishing touches to the last section so it gets squirted with lava and then it gets pressed down twice and I’m just figuring out how to get my rotations up here and

I might actually use um hgs so that will be one two three and I should be able to put another one not like that was very silly put you on there and another Cog there rarely I use cogs but you can actually make them look quite good if

You put andite casings on them I do that look at that look per big although that looks a bit janky could but could waste a gear box a gearbox there to make it look less rubbish that look there we go okay um whoops let’s put all of that

Back let’s get an andite funnel and pop you on there oh I haven’t done a collection mechanism for them uh drawers drawers done and we are getting 30 sheets woohoo I realized I didn’t show you how I’m dealing with the lava now the ultimate goal is to get those tanks

Over there fielded of lava from the nether using our train system that we’re going to set up hopefully at some point uh maybe this episode you never know but for now I’m using the dripstone thing over lava and this is producing a tiny little bit of lava that we are hopefully

Going to backlog enough because we’ve got like 2,000 sheets now I think uh eventually we’ll have those tanks filled up and we can pipe lava about but what’s next on the to-do list we should make the sturdy mechanism which is is sturdy sheet deployed onto Precision mechanism

Oh we’ve got our setup for that haven’t we got a deployer setup over here I think we haven’t I’ll um get one set up probably ah I could do it in here can’t I of course right uh let’s go get some more stuff while I was getting more

Stuff uh We’ve run out of lava so we’ll just have to let that trickle along but we’ve got 30 of them for now um there you go a little bit more lava comes and then it does a few more right so 30 of them and we need precision meod Ms which

I’ve got on me of course I’ve got them right which way round was it it was no idea um sturdy sturdy machines sturdy sturdy sturdy machines are cheat onto Precision mechanism so if we how many we just do one for now I think do one then I pop you in there we should

Get sturdy mechanism and that completes that quest line oh we got another one of those things and this gives us 32 more a train casing and another Engineers thingy myob awesome in fact while we’re here should we just complete this quite quickly we’ve got Source gems haven’t we

Let’s go and get our source gems got the source gems and what do you need to do with what do you need to do with the source gems turn them into integrated mechanisms integrational mechanisms which is a three-step oh dear so three steps and the source crystals is a gem okay um we

Can clear this now but then set up the process later so we need a s then right so to make this integrational machine mechanism this one uh this is what we’re making uh you integrational mechanism we need a source gem fragment which is a source gem through crushing Wheels which we can

Just do let it do it get go here hope here it comes it’s going to stop there cuz it’ll have nowhere to go and would assume is it gone is it only a per chance only a 20% chance okay go on RNG be good to me I don’t think it was good

To me go on RNG ready and come want pink purpley things oh I don’t think it did it again did it no well I’ve got a few more attempts hang on a minute I’ll get that now no come on why is nothing coming through broken oh did it do it it

The ones I can use come on don’t think we’re going to be successful we were it did it it did it we’ve got one on the last one two right um anyway moving on we now get to do the deploy press thingy myob on to what how do we make these uh Precision

Mechanism so the first off we want to put in the gem we’re going to put a gem in there and we’re going to put a Precision mechanism in there so it’s done that and now we’re going to put the um guard thingy in there and pop our incomplete mechanism in there does the

Next stage and then we’re going to pop you under the Press on the Press then and we get Aha and I think that’s that chapter complete and we get this engineer’s radiant tool kit and a green chapter marvelous now before we move on on further in progression wise I want to

Get trains going and the first thing we need to worry about with trains is the train tracks because you need the tracks laid so you can make stations and then the stations is where you make the trains so let’s look at train tracks train tracks are essentially two iron

Nuggets deployed onto a smooth stone slab and then smack down so this is quite simple this is my wonderful cobblestone generator I’ve got it turned off I’ve actually got this funnel turned off it’s got a redstone signal so it doesn’t send stuff out but essentially if we turn that on Cobblestone turns

Into stone stone gets swn into slabs you can see there’s a filter there to say I need to give me flat slabs then we’ve got iron nuggets here that I’ve taken from my system up there and that now deploys an iron nugget deploys an iron nugget stamps down and we’ve got lots

And lots of rails because we are going to need lots and lots of rails because we’ve got to set up a rail track that runs from the nether to our base we got to set up a rail track that runs to Sky Stone stuff and the lava stuff it’s we

Need lots of tracks well hello my pretty right let’s talk about train tracks we’re not going to get building trains yet we’re going to talk about train tracks so train tracks can be placed and they can link up and it’s all very clever this isn’t going to be a very

Long tutorial on how to do all of this if you want me to do a tutorial Style video on train tracks and trains then let me know in the comments otherwise you can try and keep up with me now so trade tracks can be placed um they are

Three wide and they can be placed down one at a time or I can click on this guy and I can walk backwards and it will then place all of those tracks you can remove them with the right clicking functionality of your wrench there is another cool aspect to train tracks I’ve

Got my deep slate generator with me um and if we go out here because I don’t want it that close what what I’m eventually going to have is a is a track running along here that uh is going to pick up the sky Stone from this box and

Redstone will be deposited somewhere as well so we want the train to pull up here and we’ll if you imagine we’ll have a storage interface pulple storage interface on there then we need a gap uh and then we need the portable storage interface on the train so our train

Tracks are really going to start we not have my backpack on do have my backpack on why is be not letting me deal with that later train tracks are really going to want to start at this block here because the train will be here that’s where the storage interface Gap will be

Yeah so if I pop uh a train track here for example not like that though you can place them all sorts of I can imagine having to place all of that deep slate for wherever you’re taking this track would be a real problem if I put the

Deep slate in my off hand and I right click this guy and then I go over to where I want the track to go and we can do a nice curve up here and if I hold down control it Smooths the curve out so you see if I let go oh it’s already

Smooth curve anyway control you see that little smoing happening at the top there moves the curve out and if I right click you can see sorry before I right click you can see what I need I need 13 track pieces and 47 deep slate by right click

It actually places the Deep slate for you on the track how cool is that how cool is that and if I want to get rid of this pie of track I can just do that but it leaves the Deep slate there obviously um now I wanted that to be a little bit

Straighter than it was so what I’ll do is I’ll go over here I’ll get my deep slate in my hand uh yeah and I’ll put some track out be slate out here and then I can stand on here and run the track a nice straight line what I want

To be able to do so we go over here we right click H we make sure we’ve got deep flate in our hand right click we place it that going to be in a straight line want to place it here right click H the selection right click go over to

Where I want it and left click right click right click why is it doing it like that that’s really annoying oh because I’m pressing shift probably here we go don’t need to press shift so now we’ve got that straight bit and I’m going to do the same on here I just need

To get rid of you I want to I want to select this bit of track then want to run over here probably need a piece of deep slate there so it’s in the middle yeah and put my track back down and I want to go that way I don’t want to hold

Shift though I should be able to just select that uh deep slate in the off hand and right click now we’ve got our straight bit of track that is going to be the station and now I want to curve this bit of track into our portal so I

Should be able to get more deep slate on me for one you can I think it will take it um from my inventory whoops 400 on me but because that’s in the off hand it’s all right and I’ve got lots of track on

Me now what I want to do is get a nice curve and it’s going to go uphill as well so really we want I’m going to put a piece of track the clever bit with this right if I put it there look what happens it’s gone a bit purple and that

Little bit of purple if I go into the portal and I may have set this up already on the other side you can see there’s a bit of track there if I go around the other side of this portal and get rid of some of these blocks that we don’t want

Anymore I’ll put another piece of track on this side that will go purple and then you should see it on either side of the portal on the outside there you go ha so what we want to be able to do now is I might it might work right it might

Do a nice curve all the way to over there so if we right click then go to where we want to go which is all the way over to this bu track we are probably too far away too far away so we’ve got to kind of put this into two sections uh

So I’m going to use some scaffolding go across from here so we can probably do something while deep slate let’s go out a bit further with scaffolding scaffold that way get some deep slate on the end of this another piece there maybe there hopefully we’re

Going to be able to bend around to there in the end one more piece cannot create spend slope that’s where we want to go look at that look probably remove these blocks we can do something with that if we have to right so we’ve got a slope down

Pretty cool and now let’s see if we can get this round to that corner so we right click then we want to go over there might have to um just Scaffolding in there yeah hopefully if I pop you there yeah that’s going to work look now I can

Either smooth out so if I hold down uh control it Smooths it out or it’s quite sharp so we’ll have a nice smooth one deep slate in the off hand and we’ve got track going up into our portal and what I want to do is have a

Loop so I want to come come around the back of our of our system as well so I want to come around here and do the same thing got it that’s how we lay tracks now we’ve just got to lay a lot of them while you watch me lay a lot of

Yes I had to do the noises into The Nether Hub these tracks are just made with a slightly different recipe but I creative mode did all of this of course and we can then go all the way around to drop off our Sky Stone all right now to get to the lava thing

Look what I found while digging out cuz I’ve got to go round and round and round and down I found my first bit of ancient debris how exciting didn’t realize itd be debris all the way up here but that’s very pleasing right more track stuff uh

You’re going to go here I hope there yeah lovely right carrying on more to do all the tracks are in this might be a problem for trains I don’t know but the tracks are in let’s quickly go into spectator mode I can show you the tracks

Um this is our entrance so this track is our entrance or our way back to base I hope is the way the trains are going to run and we’ve got the track that you’ve seen already that come in I’ve now brought this track in and this track if

We go in the reverse Direction This is an absolute nightmare I I switched to creative to build this I must admit otherwise it was going to take me forever uh because I decided my lava pit was just going to be pretty much directly under my base under my portal

Here um which meant I just had to do a great big looping track so this is the way down is going to come from there and it goes down and then we’ve got one oh there’s a missing bit of track there fix that later um one way down and up um but

This goes all the way down and then it snakes through and this is where I started to get this bit alone was just a nightmare and this is where I got a bit kind of uh this is going to take me too long so I started cutting stuff out

Quickly and placing track I still had all of the resources on me and threw the resources away I haven’t cheated too badly um just I needed to get this done so we get this video out otherwise it wouldn’t have ever happened and you can

See it snakes its way all the way down I have no idea whether a train is actually going to be able to run on this or not we’re going to find that out later and it gets all the way down and then through this tunnel and ends up at our

Lava Port here where our lava is infinite lava is and then it will go back on up and go into the Home Place back up we go and you can see there’s the branch of the line is uh a bit further up as we go through this Gap

Here then the line will Branch as we go around this corner the line then branches and we go this way to return back to the base clever in it right now we got to figure out how to set stations up oh train stations how do we do them

Let’s have a quick look at the recipes and all of that sort of good stuff drain stations are made from smithing table with accompass the sturdy machine and the sturdy machine is the sturdy mechanisms with a train casing and I’m going to need uh the stone Sky Stone my

Home base my lava home base and the lava so that’s four so I need four sturdy machines can we do four sturdy machines we’ve got 14 of those four eights of 32 do we have 32 sturdy mechanism where’s the sturdy mechanisms gone I’ve already got two so actually I only need eight I

Only need 16 sturdy sturdy mechanism where are they gone they’re there we can aha we can make two train stations uh smithing table smithing table no no not yet we don’t need to do that yet we need to do crafting crafting table oh dear um we appear to have have lost our crafting

Table suspect I moved it when I did my base reorganization oh well um let’s pop you there crafting table we want you’re in the middle don’t think I’ve set these up on my autocrafting yet but we’ll probably have to that’s our sturdy machines oh they’re brass machines so I

Do need four rest of them you just that few more of them dirty machine excellent need to make two compai it’s Compass compai that’s Redstone and iron isn’t it you you Compass four in there four compasses you in there you in there and we get oh we

Get two per so that’s all right we didn’t need all of that good you can go away go away go back in there is that right y That’s all good how do these work I believe we place these where we want them where we want stations to be

So let’s just go back down here I want a station to go in the middle of this straight bit of track so you see you get this little arrow appearing in the track that’s where your station’s going to be um kind of want my station to be in the

Middle this is where the engine stopped so where I place this is where the engine stops so I kind of want the engine to stop at this end we’re going to go from left to right target track selected pop you down now we have bound this station to the Target and we can

Name this station we’re going to name this uh electron this is important to do because you set your schedules up electron to factory okay this is where we make the trains as well but we’re going to just select that right and now we’re going to go and do another one

It’s the lava storage station no fall damage really I’ve lost my bunny slippers that negate all fall damage how annoying is that right uh next station and I’m going to want this to come this way oh can’t remember let’s go in want this way the train is

Going got to work this out now so what I’m trying to work out is the direction that everything’s going to be traveling so trains don’t don’t crash into each other um and they’re going that way they’re going to go around there so this is the way in yeah this is the way in

They’ve got go all the way around so they’re actually going to go through the portal this way means we are going to go out this way okay so I want go to want here coming this way imagine the train is traveling to Sky Stone Factory it’s going to come through this way through

This portal and it’s going to go around that way so we want the station to be going this way from left to right again maybe that’s the consistency is it’s always going to be left to right I don’t know we’re going to find out uh left to right

Thank you very much pop you there and this is Sky stone three excellent and then go back to base Bas you are going this way which is correct that’s then to the portal this way then we’re going to go around this way and I want it to go down here we can

Go area oh didn’t really want to be up there that’s a little bit tedious isn’t it perfect um so it’s coming in on this track it will come down we want it to go here I guess hopefully we’ve got enough CH no I want to want you to here and

This is lava Factory excellent no idea whether this is all going to work but that is how you set stations up just about running out of time for this episode but I wanted to jump on my test world and yes it looks exactly the same

But genuinely this is a test world so I can have a play about with things I wanted to try out some schematics because hopefully you guys could make a train for me because I can load trains from schematics so there is a video uh link is in the description of how to use

The schematic table and how to make schematics and things like that it’s not my video uh but check it out it made sense to me when I started using it but it means I can effectively and I found some on the creat mod.com schematic section and I thought I’d give it a go

So this is tradon uh Creations I’m going to go for the Train Engine and I believe I just load it into my blank schematic my empty schematic paper and then when this is in my hand we can see look so that blue box is actually where it’s going to place so

I want to place it on this track I right click and it shows me the engine now if I was in survival mode I suspect I’d have have to get all of these resources which is what we’re going to do in survival now if I hold left all I can

Change its y value so I should just be able to uh left all to focus yeah I want to left all and then control and scroll I want to put it down one so it’s on my track and then if I hold down left all

Again and I click print and now I can just what did it say right click to confirm placement and there’s our there’s our train is that is the train actually going to work do you think where are the doors there’s one slight drawback to oh it’s in the back one

Slight draw back I was going to say but I I go forward backwards doesn’t look like it uh nation is Idle over so it’s not quite on the station but hey that’s what we’re going to do rather than me try and design my own trains we’re going
