Eidolon Mod Breakdown Ep. 9 Valhelsia 3 Minecraft Modpack

Hey guys and welcome back this is chosen arctic and today we are going to be making the dark lord happy that’s right we’re getting into a magic mod so i hope you guys are ready so i have done a little bit of work as you can see just kind of prepping for

Today’s video but the main thing we’re going to do is step away from the machines for a bit step away from the farms for a bit and we’re going to start a magic mod now i have played around with this mod in in uh other packs um this mod kind of just

Recently popped into uh into view so i don’t think it’s been around for all that long at least i’ve never really seen this mod before but it is called the adelian i’m going with the dillion mod um and it is a magic sorcery type mod uh very interesting in its book i love

The uh the book here it is a fantastic looking book um and it tells you everything you need to get started but of course i am going to take you on that journey of getting started uh at first i’m gonna need a little bit of an area to start

This mod and i’m thinking this area is going to be a good place for this and i’m going to build somewhat of a shrine sort of build it’s going to be a circular build that is going to use some cobblestone and it’s going to be more of a shrine

Sort of setup because this mod is going to require that type of thing so as i’m working on this shrine i want to randomly place blocks so i’m using an item called a trowel and it comes from the mod cork which is on obviously one of my favorite mods

Um but it allows me to sort of randomize the block placements um in my hotbar you can see it’s using the items in my hotbar and i’m slowly but surely getting this random pattern uh or such it’s not a pattern it’s just this random block placement

Um here that is going to be where our shrine resides as you can see it is quite a large area but i think it’s going to be necessary for some of the stuff that i want to get into in this this is going to require its own like shrine area

And it also has a brazer that allows you to do some interesting things let’s just uh let’s just say that so i’m trying to decorate this the best i can and these spikes are really really making this worthwhile like this is really going to sort of make this pop i think look at

That these adding these spikes to uh i guess you would call them um like braziers i think that’s what they’re called um and then i also have this right here the fiery glass blocks actually put out a lot of light um so this should be able to

Work fairly well by the way i decided to go with a 7×7 circle so this is a one two three four five six seven then i go to three then two then one if you wanna know how to build this circle um it’s not too bad it’s a seven circle

Is what i would call it or i guess you would count from here all the way to there and then get to what number it is i don’t actually know what it is um but i know that i started with uh with seven as you can see i have like broken down

Bits here i decided to to make this one look broken down and this one looked like it fell apart i think that’s going to make this area look so good oh i’m so excited to get into this mod so one of the things we definitely want to get started with

Before we start working on anything is going to be getting some of the metal that’s required for this mod um so as you can see there’s a brazier um and then this is going to require the pewter ingots and a block of coal but the pewter ingots is actually iron

And lead mixed together so it’s best to go ahead and get some of that we’re going to take iron and combine that with lead and that is going to get us these nuggets i’m gonna go ahead and make 32 for right now um these of course need to be smelted

Down so let’s go ahead and fire them and uh once those are ready we can actually get started with this mod um oh and by the way if you notice the swords over here well this mod has some good tools but i was looking at like what the highest damage tool

That is base damage in here and it’s actually the refined obsidian sword oddly enough that’s what i’ve seen has the highest damage because you can actually search attack damage by doing this and end up looking through here and you can go like for example this one has a base attack damage of 14.

If we search this as you can see it shows up in this list um so that’s just an interesting way that you can actually use jei to help find um high damage items if you want of course we still have a diamond sword that i’ve been using but

Hey the refined obsidian something to go for even though it’s going to require a bit of mechanism so why do we need this brazier like why do we need this thing and also uh or brazier why do we need this stuff like what are we going to be using this handstone for

For example um well if we take a look in our book we have some different sections here we have things that are called a natural phenomenon which talks about ores and things that we’re going to find as we go um and then we have rituals now rituals tells us that we need

This in order to do a successful ritual now what ritual would i want to do well there’s a couple of them uh this crystallization ritual is really nice you can see right here bone mill and some redstone dust on two of the braziers or two of the uh the hands

Uh with this catalyst will end up granting us a shard which is going to be used these shards are going to be uh used later on um that’s going to be used in recipes and that’s how we’re going to get it we actually need a mob to come into contact

While we run the ritual and it will kill it and give us some soul shards in their place that’s what i want to do um so soul shards how do i get a zombie or anything over here well luckily i have the quantum catcher so i am able to just

Plop down a zombie while this is running and it will it will give us a shard now later on there’s easier ways to farm shards but this is how you get started in this mod now um this is an item receptacle then we have the brazier and then we have later on different

Rituals that we can actually use that do a lot of different things like this one will let you swap time uh so if it’ll go from like night to sunny for example uh or from sunny tonight there’s all kinds of cool things you can do with time um ritual of purifying like

There’s there’s things that will keep mobs away the witch role of repelling things that’ll bring uh that’ll breed mobs and all kinds of stuff there’s pretty cool stuff you can do but i’m more interested in the items and bobbles and stuff that you can get so

Let’s go ahead and get started i don’t know if i can do this one during the day um i guess we can go ahead and try we needed redstone and bone mill right so bone mill there we go i have my redstone so let’s go ahead and set this up we’re

Going to place it right in the middle here uh for now and let’s go and get this we’ll place our stone hands they can be away i think i don’t think they have to be right next to this thing um and let’s go ahead and try this uh

They may have to be right next i don’t know so bone mill we have redstone here redstone here bone mill here and they may need to be next to each other let me try this again they may have to be right next to one another like this

And it might have to be night in order to activate this it’s probably gonna be night time nope i’m completely wrong altogether you have to light it with flint and steel i forgot about that okay so when it goes up place that there and that should kill the zombie

Just like that and as you can see we get ourselves some scholsar oh my gosh soul shards wow my speech is just going out the window um so yes we can do that over and over again to grant ourselves some of these shards now later on they’re gonna be used for different

Trinkets and things um but there’s something else i kind of want and need to get into and that is going to be i believe uh is it artif yeah artifice so the crucible is a big part of this mod and also getting into the magic workbench

All of this is going to be required in order to make things like the reaper scythe for example you can see this is going to require tattered cloth um and also the unholy symbol which uh we haven’t fully learned how to make the unholy symbol yet i don’t believe um that’s because

Technically there’s some stuff in here as you can see that we just don’t know yet um so how do we get started in learning like what what we need to do to get started well we technically need to give this book to a witch yes we actually have to throw

It on a witch and that’s how we’re gonna get started and unlock some new things in this book now luckily we do have the comforts mod in here so with the comforts mod installed we can actually skip a day and force it tonight believe it or not

So all we need is the hammock and go into comforts and grab ourself a rope and nail and all we got to do is have a little bit of a couple of logs and we can set this up outside i’m going to set it up right here um we need a

Three block gap three block or four block gap actually yeah we need four block gap i believe just like this and it needs to be at least too tall i’m gonna go ahead and cap it like this and then all you gotta do is put the rope and nails here and here

Make sure nothing’s in the way and then attach your hammock to it and we can actually sleep the day away until it is about dusk and uh that kind of pushes daytime forward so we can get to night faster now with it being night hopefully we can find a witch now it’s

Not always it’s not always the easiest thing to find is a witch um but i’m gonna try my best while avoiding all of the other mobs but i could while i’m here grab some mobs get some more shards because we’re definitely need as many shards as possible of course um

So grabbing these guys leading even leading zombies over here is going to be a good thing to do even though zombies are so slow but getting them over there i dug some holes so i can place them in holes pretty much staging them to be killed which

Is a good way to go early gone early on i think so when you get a couple of mobs in a hole of course do the same ritual just like this and they’re surely going to pop and uh give you some give you some soul shards look at that perfect and of course

Make sure to get yourself out of these holes i have spotted a witch but i have a creeper in the way so hopefully i can get over here to this witch and all i gotta do is toss this book at the witch and she’s gonna pick it up give it a gander

And go hey here’s you some new stuff and we just unlocked the wicked sign so we now have something that was unlocked in our book um and before that i mean if you think about it this is the only magical creature kind of that we have access to so that’s

Why we give it to a witch right um so we now unlocked the wicked sign now this is what we’re going to use to pray to the dark lord that’s right this mod is going to get dark real quick so here’s where things get a little weird

And it’s recommended to start this mod pretty early so um of course i fell in a hole uh let me go ahead and get out of here i really need to learn to fill my holes um okay so right here i want to build my altar so i

Went ahead and made some wooden altars just like this and what i’m going to need is a straw effigy this is what we’re going to use to get started first so my straw effigy is right there and then you can use some other things like tallow candles and things like that but

For right now this is going to work for me and we’re going to use this to pray to the dark lord that’s what this whole symbolage is so we do this three times and then we chant as you can see that just happened so did we learn anything new

No but as you can see the dark prayer performed the chant and it tells us a little bit of information further knowledge may be revealed to you so the more that we do this we can do this every night uh because if i was to do this again if you can watch

You hear that noise so nothing happened right um so we need to continue to do this and we are going to learn new things as we continue on um so this right here sort of unlocked the dark prayer and that’s basically it um now there are

A bunch of other stuff you can do while you work on things but as you can see it tells you here you can use alter lighting all of this stuff helps increase the power of learning um sides and chance it talks a little bit about the straw effigy later on we’ll

Unlock a better one same with our altars they also have alter skulls these all help so if you put skulls on there um and then herbs all of these things also help power up this altar right so really cool huh okay so that is just

A small amount of things that is in here um let’s go over the artifice because i think the crucible recipes and stuff are really really important so if you’re familiar with thumbcraft the uh the old school mod you might reminisce here with this crucible um so all you do

Is place a crucible on a heated block or have fire underneath it or something like that i love magma blocks because they don’t catch anything else on fire uh but you’re gonna need this and you’re probably gonna need yourself some sort of um infinite water source i think this works here

So if you place water here and water right in front technically you have water in front of this i guess actually i should probably move this not actually liking that there um anyways just having water nearby right that’s all you need just some water nearby i’m gonna go

Ahead and place it over here for right now and look you can even technically make it design look looking like the water is flowing if you really wanted to um so place that there perfect you can place it in here and it looks like this whole area kind of is flooded um so

Place water in here and then you’re going to notice it’s going to start to boil after a certain amount of time uh inside your book is going to tell you all kinds of stuff you can see the boiling’s happening you got the steam coming up

This book is going to tell you all about everything you can make and the main thing that we need to make right now is arcane gold but later on we need to make soul gems and it tells you very very distinctly how to do this all right so it’s got

Very specific rules so you can see right here you throw in two just to make a lesser soul gem you throw in two redstone two lapis then it’ll change color or should then you’re gonna throw in four shards and then you’re gonna stir once stir again and then finally it should change color

And then you’re going to throw in the nether quartz so let’s see that on something uh like arcane gold and i believe the arcane gold works on other things um so a lot of the recipes are like uh or dictionaried in for arcane gold which is kind of nice

Because this is a pretty easy recipe for arcane gold compared to the other ones um so this is redstone two redstone one soul shard and then two gold um so if we have that ready two redstone one shard um we can go ahead and pop that in

No problem right let’s double check and make sure that’s our list okay so two of those one of those actually i think and there’s as you can see it changed so yeah you can throw it in um i don’t think you can right click so you do have to throw it in

But if you leave it for too long oh no what happened it it’s gone it is gone so it just ate one of our soul shards right so that is the side effect of not being quick enough so you do want to make sure that you throw this in just like that

You have very you have a good amount of time once it changes colors and then as you can see we get ourselves some arcane gold which is super nice right so what can we use this arcane gold for well we can make ourselves a goblet and there’s several other things like

Inlays and things like that but i think what i want to do is i’m going to sleep through this day hopefully we can unlock the next sign because i really really i think we’re gonna need this uh this goblet you do need this goblin because basically what we’re

Gonna do is we are going to sacrifice a mob later on on this and we’re gonna need that goblet but we still have to unlock another sign here because as of right now we just we don’t have it so we need to spend a couple of nights and

Good thing we can kind of fast forward nights very easily by just sleeping through the day and then sleeping in the bed um and just running that ritual over and over again so this is the next night let’s go ahead and try it again do some chanting oh and it failed

I wonder why it failed this time i mean maybe we need to make some tallow candles maybe um so tallow candles are going to help us later on down the road and as you can see all we need to do to make tallow is just smelt rotten flesh and then we can make

Ourselves some candles hopefully as you can see right here this does help us with the power of two so if we have one of each so we have this candle and then we make a candle stick um we could potentially help and this also helps with capacity so

Don’t really know what capacity means but power power definitely means something to me so while i wait it is currently night time i want to go mob hunting there’s a few mobs that i actually need to kill so i went ahead and enchanted this sword with the house fire aspect vorpal 3

It just got 403 on it which is super nice sharpness 4 and raiders bane i’m assuming the raiders bane helps us with raids and stuff um but i’m more interested in some oh i’m not i wasn’t ready for this i probably need to make myself a shield

Yeah that’s probably a good idea since there’s little baby skeletons that i wasn’t prepared for oh right here is actually one of the mods mobs which is called a wrath and if we get lucky it’s going to drop a tattered cloth and i’m actually after that said tattered cloth um

I don’t know how lucky i will be on getting it by the way i might as well take advantage of this too look at this zombie raid oh got a baby zombie over here hey so finally this is like my third time doing this on a night we actually unlocked the blood sigil

Right here so we learned a little information about it as you can see um now i believe that we have to kill something next to it like a sheep or something like that um or a cow we can really kill i think an animal next to this and it’s going to fill up

Our little cauldron actually we probably just kill a chicken that’ll be super super easy to do um so if we kill a chicken near this goblet that’s over here this we should be able to unlock that there we go you can see it’s full of blood

This is the next one so now i should be able to run this um and if we go here um and we take a look at our knowledge sacrificing an animal you can see this right here perform the chant and uh the goblets filled with animal blood sacrifices are highly valued in may

You only performed once a day so now we have two things that can be performed so it’s this this and this oh so i guess we have to wait till the next day maybe in order to be able to do this since we just unlocked this knowledge um but did that unlock

Anything else we have the soul enchanter i don’t know if that was there before inlays okay so we still are learning stuff oh i don’t think we’ve learned anything new yet by the way i did end up getting some uh some of this some of the wrath drops

Um the tattered cloth but nothing else so this recipe right here is making lesser soul shards it’s kind of it’s going to be kind of confusing to to a lot of you but uh i want to try and do this so two redstone two lapis it’s going to change

There we go and then one two three four and then one two turns on that and then toss that in and as you can see and you have to do it just like that it is difficult to time that just right you have to be pretty quick with it

Especially on those turns and if you miss those turns you will not get yourself a lesser soul gem so i am currently making up a potion of instant damage that is going to be required for something that i want to make which is this amulet um send

Sanguine i think it’s singuine um amulet this thing sounds really good it’s gonna basically store hearts for us and then when we take damage it’s basically like giving us extra hearts um so for this we need a potion of instant damage we’re also going to need a diamond and

We’re also going to need that lesser soul gem that we just made and we’re also going to need a little bit more stone because we are going to need more stone arms as you can see we need one two three four five six for the reagents

And uh yeah that’s going to and we also need a basic i’m kind of confused actually do we need the potion of harming to be tossed on us or do we throw the amulet now it doesn’t currently tell us that we need a necrotic focus but according to the way this

Looks and looking at the book it almost seems like we are going to need this it looks like a skull that’s hugging the item i’m pretty sure we’re gonna need a necronic focus like i am a hundred percent believing that that’s the case along with that

We of course need um six of the handstones and that should complete the ritual i’m hoping we can do this without unlocking that knowledge thanks to jei for kind of pushing this forward um that should be everything we need i think by the way while we’re out here we

Should probably go ahead and try that ritual again and let’s see if we can do it Oh soul sign we just unlocked that is this one soul sign okay and then this much unlocked oh it unlocked this right here the statue so what exactly is this all about so that unlocks knowledge here oh we ended up getting this the touch of darkness

So the dark lord has granted you the ability to touch certain items with dark power to perform the above chant while looking at certain dropped items um okay okay it says when cast on a pewter inlay the inlay will be transfigured take in the form of an unholy symbol

So when we cast on a inlay oh we should do that i hope doing all this stuff doesn’t you know like destroy our mind or anything like that would be not good Oh it’s kind of cool uh the good thing is is now that we know how to make this i can actually make the scythe and this right here harvest souls so that is gonna make things so much easier oh and we can actually craft this thing

Let’s make this bad boy i think it was like this with two sticks we have this in the top two soles and last but not least the tattered cloth or is those special sticks that i was looking at um this right here where did it go

Um no that’s oh the sticks are in a different configuration ah i had this almost completely in my memory oh just missing that one thing okay so bam reaper scythe oh this bad boy is going to be harvesting some souls today like let’s see if it works on these guys oh

It drops it yes oh this is definitely the way to go i wonder if we could like mass farm these souls from our our uh our farm we have in there that could be a thing so at this point i have almost everything ready to go you

Can see i have this item in here everything’s plotted where it should go the only thing it tells me is right here it says uh we need 20 hearts worth of living creatures 20 hearts so 20 hearts worth of living creatures um i guess we could do villagers

I have a bunch of villagers so if i place some villagers down in this hole like we should be able to do this i think so this is 20 hearts i’m going to assume it means this many right oh that knocked off some of the hearts

Um so i’m gonna grab another one just to be on the safe side there we go so just to make sure because technically that it counts 20 half hearts not 20 full hearts so if i place that in there that should work and now all i have to do is technically light this

And this ritual should work oh i hope that that works on this item oh this will be so cool if this works oh it did take it oh this is and we got it oh my gosh and so when we store this what it’s supposed to do is hold on to our hearts

While we’re at full health and basically just store hearts you can see there’s a heart there and you can see my hunger is still depleting i think is it regenting these hearts i think yeah there it is it’s regioning a heart level on here oh that’s so cool basically storing it

So i have extra hearts for later that is definitely worth this model loan it’s almost like an extra regeneration thing i’ll take it i’ll take it so there are still so many things left to do with this mod and we’re gonna be playing with it as we continue on
