EPIC Deckbuilding in Minecraft Roguelike! 🎮

Ladies and gentlemen I have a bit of an interesting video for you today we are going to play the most Rog likey Rog like that you can play inside of vanilla Minecraft this is Decked Out 2 which is the sequel to decked out which is a Rog

Like mode in Minecraft that was created by uh the hermit crafter Tango Tech shout out to tango for creating this this was a massive Rog likee Dungeon Crawler that was created in Survival Minecraft in the most previous hermitcraft season if you don’t know what hermitcraft is uh it’s a a massive

Survival multiplayer server series that occurs on YouTube highly recommend um I’m a pretty major hermitcraft fan uh in fact I I kind of was inspired to do YouTube and base my commentary style off of a Hermit crafter uh b o 100 so it’s cool for me to be able to make a video

That is topical to both both my interest and my channel by playing a Rog likee Minecraft mode here’s how it works uh through this magical door right here uh we will get sent into a dungeon uh and that dungeon is going to hold a compass

That is going to point me to a location that I have to drop that compass into when I do that I’m going to get an artifact that gives me points that if I get that artifact out of the dungeon uh I can spend my points to get more cards

Into my deck uh so it’s a bit of an extraction game uh with a a Rog like twist in it uh because each run we’re going to get more cards to build into my deck and and this is my current deck and we have a couple of cards in Our Deck

Let me let me show you them here so we have a sneak that that currently blocks two Clank uh and what what Clank is is a mechanic in the game that makes the run harder on you the higher that your Clank goes uh and this will make more sense

Once we get into uh our first run here we have a treasure hunter that that gives you plus4 treasure this increases uh the chance for Treasure to drop inside of the dungeon and treasure can be coins they can be keys that are needed to reach the next floor uh or

They can be crowns which you can see I have some of here unfortunately crowns are are not going to be very useful since I’m just playing a single player uh Decked Out variant here um but typically in a multiplayer setting they’d be more useful uh and then we

Have a Moment of clarity which is basically a little bit of everything it blocks two Clank it gives me plus4 treasure uh but it also blocks to Hazard that’s that little red icon down there and Hazard is a mechanic that that closes off walls and doors uh that makes

It harder for you to Traverse through the dungeon so blocking that uh changes the ability for the dungeon to change around you uh and it also gives you plus two Embers which gives us a chance to actually get points uh that we would get by extracting the the artifact out of

The dungeon if you don’t know what’s going on I’ll have a link in the description uh to the full like video tutorial of how to play this um but I will I will kind of talk through it as we go uh I have watched a fair bit of

Decked out I have not played any decked out um so this is kind of my my first runs here so I don’t want to use this Moment of clarity uh those that are slay the Spire fans are going to recognize the a iial tag on this card uh that

Means that this is a onetime use uh we can put it into one run and use it but uh if it gets pulled and and called out while we play then we will not be able to use it past this run so I’m going to save it uh for maybe our second run

We’ll just go in with two cards we will know when they play uh and it will be it will be fine okay it’s going to be great it’s going to be great so we’ll put in a frozen Shard into this Barrel which will start the game okay we are now in use

And and the door is activating and in a second uh we will be launched into launched into the world of of deck out and into the dungeon now you may look at this and you may go Tyler this is not uh vanilla survival Minecraft it it really is uh there’s

Just some there’s some uh some data packs and resource packs that are used uh so it is still actually fully vanilla believe it or not so uh here’s your your difficulty I am using a a kind of modded version of this game um it’s it’s a mod

Pack it’s it’s still vanilla but it’s a a mod pack that helped to just kind of set up everything so that it worked it just had the the resource pack by default and things like that made it really easy to download uh they’ve made a couple tweaks to the game themselves

Uh I’m just going to play the the default mode here I’m going to play on easy easy to start out uh we can we can switch to medium hard deadly or even deep Frost I suppose in the future um but I’m I’m just going to do an easy run

For right now we’re going to place our deck on this lamp that is going to uh punch it into the game it’s Now setting up the game and and kind of taking my cards that are in my deck and preparing them to be used as we go down and then

Step three we ride the mine cart so get in and the game start so here’s our our compass and the compass points to where we need to drop off our artifact uh where that is I mean we we don’t know at the current moment we have to follow the

Damn Compass to get there and there’s there’s a bunch of different places uh for us to drop it off if you’re wondering why uh an account just joined my single player game it’s so that this map Works um I’m not going to explain it

In in too much detail but uh the the map is is needed to kind of teach you what’s going on in the game you’ll see that I have my cards down there and in a second you’re going to hear our cards played out into uh into the

Dungeon just like that okay I saw the card little tick down there so it played our sneak right there uh and if you remember sneak gave us two Clank uh block so now the Clank block on the map has two things there and uh you’ll hear

When that get spent cuz it makes a little sound now there are ravagers in here which is what we are trying to escape he’s like he you you still coming for me brother don’t don’t don’t come for me oh he is he is close close okay I’m just going to sneak this

Way Hunter there’s my treasure hunter so you’re going to see the treasure pop up and now there’s a chance we’ll hear little dings if uh treasure gets drops so so theoretically two treasure got dropped somewhere in the dungeon right now um there’s the ravager he probably

Knows where I am or knows who I am is the better way to word it so all four of our treasure dropped but I I don’t I don’t see any and I didn’t hear any stum okay now we got stumbles so stumble that noise you just heard is is Clank getting

Blocked so two of our Clank got blocked it used our two Clank block here ‘s a little treasure um stumble is basically a card that adds to Clank and it’s it’s just used after you you spend all of your cards hello sir here come this way

All right come this way I go this way little little bit of treasure Little Treasure over here too okay okay we’re good we’re good now our Compass is pointing in a direction away from where I’m going so I should probably turn around uh but I’m going to

I’m going to do a little exploration show you the whole dungeon here now this is just the first floor of the dungeon um if we get a key we can put the key into here hey there’s an ember that’s good those are those are our points at

The end so we we like collecting those if we put a key in here it gives us access to uh the the second floor seek the key offer it to the kneeling man um but our artifact as we uh saw this is a level one artifact so this will be somewhere on this

Floor and we’ll just continue to to look around and and try to find it here’s the hazard in action this would typically be able to be walked through uh but the hazard has blocked this this exit for me so little little scary there is definitely there there’s a key up there

And I heard some treasure drop that was that little ding I don’t know where it dropped but somewhere our Compass is still pointing around we want we’ll want to find it I’m trying to sneak oh what the freak you’re in here hello goodbye I’m out peace out see you later okay our

Compass is still po it’s pointing to the right actually we’ll have to escape through there no treasure in here that’s fine we got a ravager down there can I just can I just run past you real quick and we got more stumbles being played oh it’s h where the heck okay we’re fine

Was it in here man hi buddy okay yeah come this way please here come come through come through are you stuck no no no no no no no come through come this way come this way okay I’m going to try to to go this way

And then I’m I’m going to do a little little drop and go I I think our location is inside of here I think I missed it when it uh when it went away are you yeah right over here right here not right here it might be below in

Here cuz there is a basement down here just check and make sure no mean Lads okay are you in here perhaps potentially right here you are okay beautiful so we have the shades of the dog this is our our artifact and now uh when you pick up your

Artifact it releases some more Clank into the dungeon and now I need to get the hell out okay uh and this is this is potentially the harder part cuz we we know this is blocked off by Hazard too uh we know that there is some mean mean Lads here in the starting

Area and I don’t remember where I left them so let’s be you’re right there okay let’s go this way I don’t think there’s a guy around here you’re just kind of stuck at the entrance that’s fine dude I think we’re we’re smooth sailing out of here hello

Friend I’m I’m free this door is open let’s take this door and then you go you go this way and then that’s the exit over there um I do just want to show you that this loops around as well so if need we can take this path there’s the entrance and

And here’s the exit so we’ve done it okay it’s a very very successful first run here um our shades of the dog so if we we take a look at them they have a nine right so this is the amount of these Embers that we are

Going to get uh by throwing that into there this is now a successful run we’re very happy we get our our Embers and then uh this is the shop right so the shop how this this functions is we can now spend our Embers on this absolutely terrifying man uh we can spend our

Embers on new cards right so we can buy uh another sneak in Our Deck you can have five of each of these cards so another sneak we can add a stability which blocks Hazard do another treasure hunter another Ember Seeker uh or a Moment of

Clarity with uh 10 m Embers I am going to take a an ember Seeker that way I mean the more Embers we have the more the more stuff we get and then there’s a bunch of cards right uh and there’s a chance that these pop up uh every time

That you play and there’s some rare cards and you can see that the Ember count goes like way up on each of these cuz it it starts to get starts to get a little bit chaotic and it’s a lot of fun now this mod that I’m I’m playing uh

They have actually finished those that are hermitcraft fans you probably know all of this already but um they have actually finished the forge which is some other mechanic to to this game so it costs 40 Embers to go into here I have no clue what that is and I’m sure

I’ll never see it um since this is very likely a one-off video showing you a a very cool uh Minecraft Rog Lake here but we have finished our run uh we will come down here and then probably get killed by this guy yep uh so I was slain by

Nothing I survived decked out and then we respawn back out here um I’m back inside of this room and then our Our Deck and our our rewards here so we we get our our shades of the dog we get our our Ember seeker and then in a second

Our Deck will be returned to us as well and then you can run again right and and do another run and we are going to do one more run here uh I want to play on I want to play on uh medium difficulty now and we’ll see if perhaps

They they launch me down to floor two and then I die um it would be cool to die it takes a second for the deck to return uh again this is it’s all vanilla Minecraft so all this stuff is getting processed down below it’s an absolutely incredible feat uh in in Survival

Minecraft and uh following the development of it was was wacky I mean there’s there’s so much going on to create this uh that it’s it’s just really cool it’s it’s really really cool I’ll do a cut I’ll wait for my deck to come back um and then we we’ll do

Another run okay we have our deck back and we have our our new card our Ember Seeker uh giving us the ability to drop plus two Embers or the chance to drop two Embers inside of the dungeon um we’re going to play on medium difficulty

So I’m going to use my My Moment of clarity as well which gives us a little bit of of everything and I think that that’s probably an intelligent thing to do uh so let’s let’s try let’s see there’s a chance that uh that medium difficulty takes us down to level two

Which would be uh terrifying I think because our deck is like nowhere near ready to be used on level two but I am I am a Rog likee gamer so I’m I’m fit for for doing things like this now I you may argue that I’m not a Minecraft gamer I

Would argue uh I’m also a Minecraft gamer since I’ve played a alarming amount of Minecraft in my day as well um let’s let’s switch to medium difficulty man and see see how things go so put you in goodbye and and the nice benefits of what this uh mod pack has done with uh

These it’s actually randomizing the location of the ravagers so each time they could be in a different spot typically I mean they’re going to be wherever you left them last so there’s there’s some strategy uh around that so it’s good it’s it’s a really good way to

Make this uh highly single player in in nature so I will note that this is a level one artifact so even on medium difficulty we’re still going to be on level one uh it’s just a higher chance that it’s a little deeper into level one uh than

Before so we will see uh who who knows maybe maybe I struggle this time around let’s go this way cuz we should be able to slip the right through here and you got to you got to sometimes take a pixie around and just make sure that there’s there’s no ravager just like chilling

Right there at the start right it doesn’t appear that that we have one right at the start but better to be safe than sorry right grab a little berries just in case I hear one to the left of me for sure hello buddy yep you’re right there okay that’s fine that’s fine

So I should be able to jump right past here if he saw me uh I’m already long gone brother so I I feel pretty good about that now nobody here you’re pushing me Compass is kind of I mean to be fair it’s kind of Straight Ahead there’s there’s a chance it’s it’s

Just like through here and that was pushing me to left okay so it’s probably I mean it’s it’s it’s it’s not here right it’s not here that that’s the part that we just care about is it definitely ain’t here so put me through um are you here hold on I’m

Checking it’s it it appears that it like I don’t know maybe maybe I’m maybe I’m going to go back a little bit okay there’s there’s my stumble all my cards did any of my cards Play Hold on I didn’t hear any of my cards play man

Maybe maybe I was just not paying an ounce of attention Okay this already blocked up we got a problem here man we got a problem okay let’s let’s go through let’s go through the cryp to get back I think I might have just like blocked myself entirely out of here which would

Be pretty bad okay it would be pretty bad let’s go this way is it right here is it in here yeah dude how about right here no not feeling it am I crazy right here it is right here okay I got a a jar of Speedy

Slime seems Seems okay I mean an 11 is way better than than a nine that we had last time I suppose so that’s okay um now we we can cut our losses and leave right that that is okay we got a guy over there it’s completely fair game for

Us to to leave we got a guy down here we do okay here’s what we’re a hello hello hello I leave now oh I’m dead okay uh you got me you got me that’s fair um that’s completely Fair uh press this if you died inside the

Dungeon I did um and my okay my deck will come back now okay let dude let’s run it back we’ll run it back one more time um that’s that’s a tough death I wanted to go up and then jump down around him I I mainly just wanted to to explore a

Little bit more and try to get some more stuff um but that did not go according to plan I will see you in a couple seconds okay I think something was uh was buggy with the last run I never actually got back my my shulker um so I

I think something broke in inside of the dungeon um this mod pack is there’s there’s been some issues that I’ve seen with it um so I went and I just I just recreated Our Deck once more and I threw in that Moment of clarity CU I don’t

Think we had any cards that played on that previous run so something was truly super messed up so uh we’ll run it back uh I do think that my death was probably uh caused by me not caused by the game to be fair uh but we’ll we’ll run it

Back with our our full deck and that Moment of clarity and and see see what we can do here right try to get ourselves a a medium mode Victory if we can so give me a little little sleepy in my bed real quick and then uh let’s do it so medium difficulty

Place my shulker right there um I guess that I probably should not bring these crowns in so let’s just throw you you in there I just Reloaded The the save to be honest and then we’ll go okay and then we’ll just hope that I I

Get a compass here there it is oh freak me we’re going to level two okay well this this will this will be interesting to say the least so what changes now that I got to go to level two um the big thing is that I got to find a key man I

I got to find the key if I don’t find the key then it puts us in in real tough shape and and finding a key is going to be uh more or less pure luck uh because it’s it’s based on Treasure drops and I only have

One treasure card in my deck now I did just hear the treasure drop which is wild there’s no ravager here right now maybe that door just closed man okay our Ember Seeker played just looking around okay there was a a coin that dropped here that was the treasure we heard

We’re we want to wait for that treasure uh cart to be played because then that’s going to give us treasure dropping in the dungeon dude where the hell are the ravagers you got to work with me like a little bit here and at least show me

Where some of them are so that I’m not just completely jump scared in a second okay good treasure hunter has been played that cues up for Treasure now this is a pretty common treasure spot I think but we’ll we’ll hear the dings if treasure gets played ravagers are just they’re just

All all waiting for me inside of here I guess hi buddy you know what you look stuck right now I’m going to take advantage I’m going to run past you okay you are not happy with me I think that that’s completely fair game brother you you being not happy is best life okay

Our stumble got played a little early we still have uh I think the Moment of clarity Is Still Still In Our Deck right which will be pretty good when when that gets played give it give it 30 seconds and it’ll get played okay we’re just looking looking for Treasure Moment of clarity there’s

The Moment of clarity okay very good we blocked a little bit of clamp think right there that was the sound that you heard um I guess I’ll I’ll look downstairs there should be treasure somewhere right maybe it’s on the other side of the dungeon let let’s maybe go this way we’re looking

For a key looking for a key any Keys around there’s treasure spots up here give me a coin that’s not a key believe it or not how about over here that’s a coin not a key okay you’re you’re making me uh oh God don’t do that I’m I’m gonna kill myself on spikes

Man goodbye I’m going to go this way if you don’t mind oh he he’s just he’s just after me okay just loop around this way then still still got that’s walled off okay um I guess I’ll go through here I don’t actually know where I am right now if I’m honest with

Play and it was okay and it was leave go this way I’m an idiot perhaps there’s a key okay now we just got to make it back this has been a a master class so far for me for for my second ever run okay yeah that’s pretty fair

Honestly that’s pretty fair I mean one more can’t hurt right one what it’s just a it’s just a little quick one right one one one more attempt is not going to hurt anybody we we will be completely fine doing one one little attempt do another medium run although I suppose my

Deck is uh is actively worse because I don’t have that uh that Moment of clarity we’re we’re hoping I guess maybe for a we’re hoping for a level one medium right so that we we don’t go to level two although I’m sure that you probably

Want to see what happens on level two so I guess we’re going to level two cuz we have now picked up a level two artifact um okay sure I mean let’s let’s let’s do it you you never know going to going to be going to be interesting to say the

Least so we’re we’re looking once more for a we’re looking for a key right so we need treasure drops I think there’s a there’s a shrier right here the the shrier uh is what gives you Clank so you you do want to like sneak around but I’m

Way too lazy and impatient to sneak around okay there’s the treasure hunter which is good you’re looking for dings now the dings mean that the treasure has dropped we’re looking for that treasure to drop a key for me once again it appears that all of the ravagers are in the back

Rooms so so that’s good okay that was Treasure maybe right here it’s a key brother okay that’s that’s huge that’s absolutely huge our sneak gets played that’s going to give us some Clank block can see that pop onto the map down there very good get a couple berries and if we’re lucky we’re just going to slip right in

Okay so dump the key into there that opens up the door um this is pointing me this way so you know what there’s two entrances to to level two so let’s let’s go down this one instead and hopefully uh have a little bit of luck here on level two

Okay okay now I’m like actively terrified it’s pointing me this way I don’t know level two very well at all um it’s a it’s a freaking maze to be honest is it just right here there’s no way right right here the he’s crazy the Horn of the goat it’s the

Horny Goat dude okay fantastic uh I am going to leave now I know that there there’s things to see for sure but my ass is out of here man 18 I we can buy all kinds of stuff with 18 man that that’s that’s possibly like three cards I think so I’m I’m out

Goodbye this is an amazing situation for me now I know that my my Ember Seeker there’s a chance that it dropped Embers on this floor somewhere am I am I going to Greed looking for it that was some more treasure dropping I could greed and and try to

Get a little bit more there’s a chance there’s a dude in this back room but this back room like always has treasure so I’m I’m gonna take a a little pixie a the greed pays off okay so that could be our Ember Seeker uh that spawn that you

Never really do know you never really do know now the important thing to remember is that uh Minecraft items despawn on the floor after 5 minutes so we do also have to kind of move quick right okay no no big furry boys around okay no big

Furry boys just going to take a quick peek there’s a little bit of loot in the corner there’s two furry boys down here hi friends okay don’t cut me off don’t cut me off I’m going this way we’re jumping through the door I’m out no furry boy

No okay absolute disaster to say the least puts me in a real tough spot I need him to to wander just like ever so slightly hi yeah you’re like right there okay okay let’s let’s see what we can do here let’s see what we can do I don’t have any confidence in running

Past this guy we would have to go to the far right through that little passage over there I mean it’s it’s just I’d argue that it’s just not likely maybe we can take them by surprise okay let’s try send it okay he he’s going to be right behind me

Brother right behind me send it get out there’s another guy here okay there’s another key up there we do not need that okay you’re you’re coming you’re a very mean lad I’m leaving now okay dude in all seriousness that went okay that went okay take this little shortcut I think

That all of them are on the right side right now there’s still a guy chasing me man there is a key down here I really don’t need these berries I need to go there’s a guy right there maybe or I’m going insane one of the two okay I’m starting

To see ravagers in my sleep so so that’s good um a coin right here coins are largely Irrelevant for me I’m out goodbye that door is blocked I’m out goodbye this door is open I’m out goodbye I’m I’m leaving now it’s time for me to go sayara see you later

Give me my win oh I don’t know what that was for I have no clue why I just got uh six Embers dumped on top of me from the ceiling but I guess I’m going to take it I promise you I’m playing single player there’s there’s nobody else on the server except

For the the cam account that is used for uh is used for keeping the map alive so I have 24 Embers in some weird planet I cannot afford this which is is plus one Hazard every 20 seconds every heartbeat grants me plus one but 24 Embers is crazy for me

Because we can do and I think this is exactly what I’m going to do I love the idea of continuing to get uh more Ember Seekers so give me that uh and then this allows me to do basically a a stability which will block two Hazard for me and then we can

Just take a Moment of clarity cuz I have some left over it’s a beautiful world it’s a three card run I mean we we love a three card run uh and then and then we’ll go and we’ll we’ll wrap up the wrap up the run here
