EPIC Minecraft Vault Hunters Stream 2: Spec Points, Food, Storage & More!

Things where once you figure it out you’re going to continue to figure out oh I could have done I should have done this mod instead of this mod oh there’s the this setting and this mod will make it a lot better than that setting

And um just I mean I know a lot of people don’t have the time so me saying I don’t have the time doesn’t uh doesn’t really mean a whole lot but my Hope was that somebody that’s like oh yeah I got time was going to hop on it

And do it I know you’re probably more in the camp of I don’t really have time but I’m going to figure it out anyway so I appreciate you um but yeah I mean ultimately that’s the um no like it’s we have a little it’s a little bit more into it than that Rachel

Because it’s not about like I If if you were to go through the very basics of hey I just want to start a Java server that has Vault Hunters mod on it that’s actually not very hard to do what’s what’s so different about Java versus Bedrock is

Java like their base server software you can mod not not the game the actual server software you can mod that very heavily um and then there’s a lot of things in game SLS server that you can mod that affect a lot of things with the performance of the game whereas um

Bedrock doesn’t have that right you can’t mod something really to to change the performance of The Game on Bedrock Edition you just kind of have the server settings and that’s it so there’s a a lot of different mods available that you can run on a Java

Server that will take it from not really running that great at its base like Baseline they don’t really run that good they probably run about the same as or worse than Bedrock Edition servers do but through all the modding you can do to the game SLS server you actually significantly can increase performance

And make it to where you can you can have a lot of people online playing and doing things at the same time and not really have any like lag based effects at all so basically we want to include all of those performance-enhancing mods on the server and then on the other side of

Things there’s a lot of administrative mods that you can use too ones that allow you to uh detect or backtrack and see if I don’t know like if there was a shop set up and somebody stole something from that shop well you could go back and see okay well what were the people

That took something from this shop and did this person like put like pay for the items that were in the shop or somebody like steals everything from somebody’s like uh chest in their base or something like you can figure out those things with certain mods in Java Edition um to make sure that

Everybody’s acting appropriately and then if they’re not you can like I think you have ways to like uh like roll the what is what do you call it um backtrack the server I know that’s not the right term it’s not coming to mind but to roll

Roll back to roll back the server I don’t even know you might even be able to only roll back like certain sections like certain chunks maybe I don’t know if that’s the thing I might be making that up um it’s that Mo it’s called plugins yeah whatever like

Yes and then and then you can figure out who did it you can fix the problem and you can ban the person that did the bad thing whereas of course Bedrock has none of that stuff so like I like that’s why like properly setting up a Java Edition

Server is hard the Baseline of making it work is easy the to get it to work properly for a large community is not easy it it takes a decent amount of knowledge to know what’s the right things to use and then how do you configure those things uh where’s my phone

At all I never use my number pad or my numbers to like do spells and stuff or to do to swap inventory I’ll probably use that for some things especially like abilities right it’ll kind of be like Diablo to me set it to C okay I see what you’re saying there Oh so look I can look at this see and then save hot bar bar activator corporea requests cycle trades so many things are bound to see I guess not a big deal okay so um we’re going to hop into running some vaults here in just a few moments

Really know if that’s a decent amount or not but it’s there okay let me do like one or two more things and then we’re going to do we’re going to do what you guys suggested with whatever the making of the farm thing is um but the couple things I want to do

First is I want to make what I can make two more Shuler boxes right so let’s make our two more Shuler boxes um do I have any other leftover wood anywhere um how to how combine them oh it’s probably got to be a regular chest right how do you do

M like when iscal was first showing Vault Hunters years ago I remember seeing something I think that’s about this um hold on I like I got to get some of his stuff out I have like so much congestion in my head like my ears like squeak when I blow my nose

Okay so you said I I know PDF said I need glass so we’re going to get some sand and I I like my little Beach area here this thing if I ever do anything with this area like actually it’s not going to involve whatever the heck this monstrosity

Is so we’ll we’ll rip it down underwater sand no we’ll get we’ll get it from right here and I know I’m not probably not going to need a ton but I’m sure we’ll need glass for something later so I’m just going to I’m just going to farm up

A lot of this uh sand on this top layer and then we’ll we’ll get two furnaces going and we’ll make uh two stacks of sand or two stacks of glass brick said let’s go he’s a brick Oh house you me any sand for the crystal at some point I don’t see you’re talking

Some wood slabs burn well I’ve heard that um that uh wood slabs aren’t as good on um on Java Edition is that true do slabs last longer on Bedrock than Java lava is the way to go like if I set up a lava farm that would 100% be true even just a basic

One like uh had like maybe four cauldrons going or something it’s better than grinding for coal is it is is am I that bad of a person to say I kind of like grinding for coal I mean it does get annoying to do over time but maybe that’s another one of the

Things we’ll do is maybe we’ll try to find some dripstone um sometime today and um we’ll just we’ll just get enough to to get like four cauldrons going and then that’ll be that’ll be enough to sustain us for a little while um but for this very second I’m

Usually like if you’re playing a a game a game like this right you’re playing a Diablo or something like all you have to do is the grind that’s it that’s the game is the grind which is fun like that’s the point of the the game it’s the that that that being the

Thing is fine but it means that all you do is the grind therefore you you finish the grind in like a sense in a way like relatively quickly and then the game’s kind of over right um you make a new character or something like that and that’s your

Replayability um with with this since it’s inside of a Minecraft world you have all of these Minecraft like things to do look at all these torches here um you have all these Minecraft like things to do to kind of support the fact that you want to go and do the vaults and it

Breaks up the Vault hunting portion of things and gives you like so much more additional to do outside of that um and I think that’s kind of like an interesting Dynamic um I I do think I think for what they’ve done with this thus far and it being a Um a mod for Minecraft and it being an alpha um I think what they’ve done so far is really good with this mod uh obviously like I have little like bits and pieces and ideas in my head that like I think can make it even better than it already is um a

Lot of those things would be about like lowering barrier of entry for people that want to get into into Vault Hunters that maybe aren’t into modded currently like myself I don’t know how many people that is but I think you would want a way to easily capture the vanilla player

Um while also not taking away any of the complexity of the mod I think it’s just more of like organizational thing you know what I mean like and and again my perspective is probably different than any other modded player right cuz I’m not really a modded player

Like I’m just I’m just this is my first I’ve played modded more yesterday and today than I’ve played any other time total combined in my six years of playing Minecraft but I guess what I mean by it is there’s like all sorts of Cool Tools and mods and things and

They’re organized good in a way for people that know how modded works and have been doing it for a while like the whole jei thing right but for a non modded player or or maybe even like just for like General organization like it’s not really that good and I don’t think this

Is a this is a fault of um The Vault Hunter team maybe it’s just more of a some of the some of the mods that are using in their mod pack and it’s just how modded is Right modded has been around for so long like what a lot of

These mods have been around for you know what 10 12 years or more right um and people are just accustomed to oh well this is how this mod was initially made like so this is just how it is or maybe somebody does a slightly upgraded version of it um so

They kind of keep things the same but like like if I if if if I had the ability let’s say I was in charge of a team and we and we were going to make a a ji type an inventory mod it it would not look like this where it’s just 155

Pages and you use a search search function like this is from from like a usability standpoint this is terrible I would have a bunch of different groups here I would have a blocks group I would like again like the the premise of how the Bedrock inventory system works is so

Good it just it could just be done better but like I would have a blocks a blocks button a slabs button uh like a stairs button or I would have like a blocks button and then you press the blocks button and you have solid blocks slabs stairs walls like Etc right I

Would have a button for like all sorts of different things like categories that would expand and it would just make it would it would make this so much better I would have a button to filter to things that you have versus things you don’t have I would I would have like a

Favorite button where like I could just say I could just have hit hit a button in here somewhere and then bam here’s just my list of favorites maybe that’s that is that what this is I don’t know it bookmark so that’s what this is that’s cool I like that um I would make

It to where I can just right click this or shift click it or something and if it’s in my inventory already it just insta crafts it I don’t want to have to click it and then hit the plus button like just little things little these are all little

Things that probably is like when it comes to programming making this stuff big things but like God you could open up you could open this up to be so much more user friendly for people and just um more convenient to use generally like type stairs yeah but like

Wife okay nope transmog table later okay um all right so quests looting in vaults is fun and there are a lot of exciting things to find gear stats like item quantity increases the amount of loot you find while item Rarity makes you find higher tier loot in addition to chests having loot

Killing mobs will yield Soul shards which can be used to purchase rare items on the black market however all of this loot can quickly become overwhelming and any good Hunter needs good loot organization Shuler boxes can go a long way in the beginning and their shells can be found inside wooden chest however

A pouch is a much better and more reliable way to collect your loot the first pouch of your journey is on us but we do recommend crafting more as you progress bigger pouches belts and backpacks can later be researched for knowledge uh pouches can be upgraded with upgrade cards to make them carry

More loot automatically uh uh carry more loot automatically pick up loot when you break a chest Avid excess Loot and even feed you the pouch itself can also be configured with a filter or left empty to fit any items to configure a filter open your pouch and browse to the

Backpack settings tab inside it the slot memory settings tab allows you to set a filter for your pouch to either Whit list or Black List certain content to go inside it these filters can also be saved and reapplied to other pouches later on we recommend you play around

With the settings until you understand the system oh my God completing this Quest will reward you with two basic upgrades which can both be installed in your pouch the pickup upgrade which will pick make the pouch automatically pick up items from the floor when a chest is

Broken or items are thrown out of it the void upgrade which can be configured to void delete any excess items that can’t fit in your pouch voiding items may sound weird it does but can be extremely useful to improve your early game looting these are expensive these are

Expensive to craft however so use the one from this Quest wisely Soul shards the items dropped from mobs are better to store in A Shard pouch The Shard pouch can only store Soul shards but an infinite amount of them as long as it is in your inventory

It can also be left in your inventory while purchasing things from the black market um without you having to manually count Soul shards it is a must have for any hunter craft A Shard pouch okay so Shard pouch it specifically has to be purple wool ender pearl girl two gold nuggets

Interesting increase the chance of a gear piece getting a legendary modifier that sounds good I think that’s what you told me to get right that sounds good unbreakable passively adds a chance of not losing durability on gear and tools when getting hit or using them that definitely sounds good for later because

Damage and does 120% strength says it increases your damage but it doesn’t say increases your weapon damage so is is strength increased in weapon damage which means that Javelin will F will will look at the combination of these two or is Javelin only looking at the weapon damage not weapon damage time

Strength higher strength you do more base damage weapon damage is added on top of that but Javelin so Javelin does javelin does we could probably do some testing on this Javin does 140% weapon damage of your weapon damage well my weapon damage is a definitive amount 8.5 right that’s my

Weapon damage so Javelin is going to do 120% of 8.5 so the formula sounds to me uh hold on so this sounds like the formula to me you have weapon damage plus strength equals Damage Done okay and then you have weapon damage Plus jav equals 120% damage it seems like there’s just
