but yeah I main I mainly did this because I really loved uh L the tramps um the mansion that they lived in well okay so if it’s so funny so that is actually not a mansion that home is actually a well you all probably already know this but that home is okay Iron Golem IR no Iron Golem we don’t do that don’t push your uh your buddy anyways um that was not actually a mansion that was actually like like every middle class home basically but the difference is and the reason why I assume it’s a mansion is because the Victorian architecture now we associate the Victorian architecture as like Mansions basically you know but at a time those those Victorian architectures were used for just middle class homes so so it’s so funny whenever I’m like that they have like a mansion they’re not it’s not a mansion it’s just a normal Victorian middle class house it just looks like a mansion because the architecture as modern people like me or at least I whenever I see oh hi villager whenever I see um the Victorian architecture I think of mansions even though I’m looking at a middle class house you know like today’s definition of a middle class home would probably not look like a Victorian home obviously I just I don’t know whenever I see a Victorian uh middle class house I’m like this is not a house this is a mansion and that’s just because I I’m my impression of a middle class house is bad anyways I was talking about H christianis H Christi Anderson I was talking about him and I was talking about the origin story of Frozen and originally the story was based on the Snow Queen but they changed it so so I think frozen was actually going to be made back in the old days like 1937 1940s 1950s the old days of Disney um and it was going to be called and it wasn’t going to be Frozen that was more modern it was going it was originally going to be based on the snow queen fairy tale that Frozen’s based on um and Frozen does have some similarity uh the finished project project product Frozen does have some similarities to this to the Snow Queen but there’s a lot of difference still though so basically the first difference um is um is the story is much different so so there is a sibling story but instead of it being two sisters it is a sister and a brother and the Snow Queen who is so at the time she was definitely so she she’s how to describe the Snow Queen she’s basically Maleficent and she is kind of like Anna oh wait is Anna the the older sister in Frozen anyways the older sister and Frozen the one that becomes the ones that seems Let It Go and the one and the one that uh becomes a snow queen or becomes the the else the the ice queen or whatever that basically she’s the snow queen was practically her but just an older version like a middle AG version of Elsa is the best way I can describe her and instead of her being related to a sister we know nothing about her she’s just a Snow Queen she’s just a Snow Queen that’s all you need to know she’s a Snow Queen and she uh one of the the old the younger brother makes fun of the snow queen and the snow Queen’s like hey I don’t like that I’m going to just uh poopa dupia right over there and you’re just going to have to deal with that um um and you’re going to have to just deal with that sorry knife I froed you I just ateed some chicken so I need to take that plate away after this but um anyway so anyways so if I stop saying anyways so my God TJ you cannot say so how many times you have said no so okay so oh my God I said it again so oh my God I can’t stop saying it okay okay okay [Music] so I I don’t know if that’s the actual story I’ve never read the Snow Queen story but I did watch the 1955 the 1957 excuse me snow queen animation film made in Russia and that was practically the story I think basically the sister comes and tells the Snow Queen to stop after lawn adventure to get over there and the snow Queen’s like okay I’ll I’ll bring you back but the Snow Queen wasn’t like abusive to the sun she was just kind of well she was kind of mentally abusive but she wasn’t like she wasn’t like super mentally abusive she was more like my like everything you loved everything you cherish is nothing but here in my frozen Palace is true life that’s basically what she was doing to the poor child so she wasn’t being like you must believe what I believe and if you don’t I will kill you she wasn’t like that she was just more like Everything You Loved Before is nothing compares to me so so that was the Snow Queen um and obviously Disney was going to do that but then uh they switched it I think God the I Frozen was took a long time to pre-release cuz originally the film was supposed to come out back in like the 30s but then they not the 30s I think around like Peter Pan so the ‘ 50s around the mid to late 50s but then something about the studio was getting too much money or something like that so then or not too much money uh started it was it was getting too expensive to make super big animation films by the late 50s it is so funny to me because you would think animation was very difficult back then and it is and it still is well actually it’s kind of I would say as someone that has done some animation I would say it it is a lot more easier now just because you have digital programs that can help you um it’s still hard don’t get me wrong definitely not saying it’s not hard it’s hard um but it’s not like it’s not like cuz back computers could basically do this so back in the old times you had to do the animation by and well I hate okay I hate when people say computer animation cuz it’s not really computer anim because some studios still do paper it’s not computer animation what it is is they go to a program and they uh like for example I highly doubt any of the big studios use this program but if they do this is a great this is one of not the greatest sample but a good sample for someone that has not been in the studio but I I’m fiz this is how they do it so they use K let’s say they use cuz K is a paint program that I use um to draw and all that not very often but I’m I’m trying to draw more lately anyways they use those programs and uh people that use those programs now you can basically color and make the background and do basically everything in the program back in the old days you didn’t have that back then you had to do everything by hand you had to make the background by well you still do things by hand but basically you had to like cut the paper and like stick put it on layers top of layers of stuff you had to do everything physical everything had to be physical and it was probably a daunting Pro daunting process and a pain in the ass process too and and they had to scan every frame every frame and so yeah and for a while a lot of people particularly in America thought that anime was lazy now I’m not talking now I’m talking about back in like the’ 70s or stuff like that people thought that anime was lazy and that’s because Disney has done more frames like does do more animation frames than anime which is not always true because anime especially with like fight scenes they do a lot more frames which actually is like a really cool artistic choice but um but um but uh for a while people thought that anime was lazy because they don’t do they um how to put it um they don’t put a lot of well they do put a lot of it’s I can’t I’m afraid to say anything because I I I don’t think this is fair to say but basically Disney Animation did more animation uh than well okay not animation but um did more motion motion yes did more motion with the characters than anime anime usually just did like like just simple things like hand movements and all that but they weren’t like super Vance they were like two frames and and all that and the only time they do do a lot of movements and this is where I love anime um um animation anime animation well anime is basically animation in in Japan but why I like anime anime a lot is this is um for fight scenes or extra tense scenes they put a lot more motion into the animation which is like a really cool actually is honestly a really cool technique I love that that that’s that’s cool that is actually really cool that they do that but um anyways um um anyways um God TJ stop with the anyways so what was I trying to say oh yes um so they do that technique they do that technique uh or Disney does not do that technique Disney just does put every motion with every animation they try to make it as realistic as possible but the problem with that especially in today to day especially with 2D back then it cost a lot of money and it was a lot of work and it was a pain in the ass now it’s not as a pain in the ass because like I said digital can really help a lot of FS store fs and all that back then it was probably a pain in the ass so so no it’s yeah so I’m not saying that people that do the classic Disney Animation is bad absolutely not like if you like that go for it I’m just saying that in a consum or not consumer lover in a um for a budget film it was probably a pain in the ass but if you like that art style that’s totally fine or animation style that’s totally fine I’m definitely not judging I think that is also cool too I think all forms of Animation anime and all that are not lazy I think they’re all very amazing um I’m just saying that um that a lot of companies in Japan probably sticked with the technique but a lot of people in America were used to you know or used to seeing a lot more motion animation so um so I uh so a lot of American people or a lot of not a lot of American people obviously and when I say American people or not American um a lot of Western audiences I guess now a lot of Western audiences now like anime and I’m not saying I’m not saying Western audiences today I’m talking about like back in the 70s or the’80s or no I think by the’80s well older people probably still said this but especially the younger people anim anime I think was getting more popular by then but anyways so in the western places but anyways people thought that anime was lazy um particularly the people that worked well I don’t know for sure I’m probably spreading misinformation with this so do not believe me if I completely say this but it sounded like some critics did not like uh the anime style just because it was more lazier than the Disney style which was which just first of all art is Art never lazy anime is not lazy and second of all that’s how do you know you you have clearly never worked in the anime field or the animation field so shut up and also that’s it’s just not true I mean everything is hard cuz you still have to learn how to draw to do well you don’t have to learn to draw but if you want um but it there’s a lot of things that make anime difficult even when they don’t do a lot of motions with the animations there’s a lot of lot of things that make it not lazy and also I can’t help but feel like I can’t help but feel like the critics well critics are some critics are critical period so I yeah critics are just critical period so I can’t really judge or I can’t really blame critics anyways what was I talking about so wait what was I talking about so oh I was talking about Frozen God I’m so sorry everyone I keep on Switching subjects so Frozen uh Frozen was uh the reason why it was cancelled well and when I mean cancels not the other cancel when the project was cancelled uh uh it was around like I think they were planning to do it in the’ 70s uh again but the project was canceled again because basically big budget films basically Sleeping Beauty and leing the basically completely bankrupt Disney I think if I remember the history correctly I’m not completely sure and you can I would definitely recommend if anyone’s curious to look into this cuz do not believe my word cuz I do not remember this it’s been a long time but what I remember for the most part is a uh Sleeping Beauty definitely completely made Disney go completely cheap after that film because that production was such a big production and it was just a big deal but here’s another thing that noys me about the about the about the uh the American critics criticizing anime for being lazy because literally by the 70s it seemed like every Animation Studio looked looked God awful and before people were like well that was like that was like the technology back then no it wasn’t the technology it was the art style because Bas cuz in the’ 40s and the 50s before the 70s I’m talking about like Pinocchio and um many other films a lot of them looked more advanced than even the’ 70s films that was complete company companies going completely cheap were and what I mean by that is it just seemed and and I don’t hate the’ 70s art style absolutely not I I do love the Hannah barara art style and if you love it too then that’s great I’m I I’m glad that you like it too I I do like it but compare us to uh the’ 40s animation era and the um and the ’70s the Hanah Barbara era of Animation kind of looks like and I’m going to I’m sorry if I’m going to be mean here but it kind of looks like they use Sharpies the col the characters and it just looked really low budget compares to the 40s not to say Hannah barara is bad not at all I actually really do like the Hannah barara art style I really do I’m just saying that it’s just so interesting that like like literally the’ 40s was Fantasia and um many other films I can’t think of outside of Disney cuz it wasn’t just Disney that was making animation films there was a Japanese animation anime excuse me film that came out in 1941 that looked really beautiful and I can’t remember the name well it was in black and white but it was very beautiful though so you could still have Beauty in black and white obviously you guys know that I’m sorry anyways the point is this is you could tell that companies went really lowbudget and I know for a fact that Disney mainly the re the main reason why they put a lot I think the main thing that they were focusing on around that time and why their films first of all took more longer to be to get released because back in the’ 40s they like in the ‘ 50s they like released year uh films one year or two or literally when year after another film but by the but but the’ 70s like the the first animation film I forgot what was it called but the first film that came out in that decade was like 1970 then 1973 and then 1977 so basically there was a long Gap from the when the movies got out or came out so and and but and I think that’s because Disney around the’ 70s started making uh product toys like merchandise they were focusing their attention more on that than the animations films hence why a lot of people call the Disney era the dark era which is I don’t know not the dark era the bad era which is I don’t know if that’s kind of fair to say cuz some of those films are still good and people could still enjoy people I I enjoy the films from the 70s even though some of them are not always the best some of the Disney films I still enjoyed them so I don’t think it’s fair to say that all of them were bad and by the way it’s subjective all things are subjective one person might not like this film but another person might like this film or might another person might despise the Hanah Bara art style and another person might love the Hannah bar style and subjectiveness comes in everything to attraction to I don’t know um food food taste to everything because everyone has their own opinions so I don’t think it’s fair to I don’t know I don’t like my opinion this is I don’t like that people call the 70s era of Disney the bad era or the the the Press era or whatever they call it the the the downfall of Disney era or something like that I will say this though Disney was not doing super well by the 80s I think the Black Cauldron um which I actually really like that film by the way um even though the story is kind of um and that’s because they edit a lot of really important scenes out of the film overall I do like that film because it is um it just has a really cool art styles like it’s like Disney but Disney trying to be like a 1980s arcade game which hence it did came out in 1985 so of course it’s probably going to have that feel but it’s just such a cool it just it’s such a cool art style it’s it’s really cool not to mention I think the crater of Zelda uh was inspired by The Black Cauldron because because well who wouldn’t be I mean that was a very unique Disney film not only it was the film that well actually I think it came out that it wasn’t as bad as people said it was I think that was just a myth that people that the film the film definitely did almost brought to Disney to bankruptcy but it definitely did not it definitely was not as bad as people thought it said like people were making it out like it was like so bad that that um that the film is going to die or it’s so bad that that the film is the the film was like banned and Disney never showed it again because it was such a bad thing no it wasn’t that bad actually some critics really liked it back in 1985 they said that it was bring them back to the Snow White era and I think what they I think what they’re really saying which is really funny that they say it’s bringing them back to the Snow White era cuz that film definitely did not give me Snow White Vibes I think what they’re saying is is they started going back to bigger budget films cuz they really did cuz most of their films felt like short TV film made for TV animation films than actual feature films but the Black Cauldron kind of brought them back to the the so even though the films that came out before the Black Cauldron were feature link films they they acted and even looked like um made for TV films but um but the black colge room was like their like since Snow White it was their like very first time that they did a big really big budget film and that was like after 1959 so God 1959 till 1985 long time to wait but you know they did so but it it wasn’t super bad it was it was not that bad actually but by the by the 1980s technology advanced enough where people could make animation started getting a little bit easier not super easy not I when I say it’s easy I don’t mean like super easy like it’s like anyone can do it cuz any okay so anyone can do animation but but it requires a lot of skill and work obviously so not necessarily though that’s subjective too I mean in the end whatever you like to create if you want to make something as qu quality as Disney then yes you probably will have to work hard but really really art is Art so whatever you want to make and even if it looks bad to other people if you love it then good for you and I think we’re moving to that to the more Indie era and less of the professional era like the old times so make us Disney definitely didn’t have their own professional moments that’s for sure so anyways um or any company for that matter so if you like and and by the way I’m sorry if I’m being so mean to Disney um if you like Disney there’s nothing wrong with that if you like anime there’s nothing wrong with that too I love both um I will be I will say I’ve been going I’ve been watching a lot more anime lately just because I really just want to know um I really just want to enter in that world cuz most of my animation watches before were just Disney films really but now I’m entering into the anime world and I’m really excited um I’m really loving it I’m I’m really excited um to watch more cuz I don’t know I just it’s art style it’s a it’s from Japan and that’s that’s cool and it’s cool to learn other countries and what people are entertained um in other worlds and I’ve always liked watching foreign films it’s always cool cuz it’s always cool to see films from other places and what is you what is like their what what they do to change some things um like for example uh I notic this a lot in anime but they like take a lot of American ideas I guess or Styles especially with the mangas like for example with their superheroes like they instead of instead of making them exact well some of them did do but um some the thing I like about uh uh is they like took Captain America basically and made their own version and in the mangas but they use their but they put their own culture in it to to change it a little bit and I just I don’t know I like that I really like that like it’s like changing things still doing some similarities but changing some things to to fit your culture is just really cool to me I I find that really really cool actually so yeah but yeah I’m trying to enter to the anime World um I’ve just watched one but you know whatever I don’t want but to be fair I don’t watch very much shows though I don’t watch very much shows even live action and when I did watch a lot of DC animation it was really just Clips or certain moments where I liked the sound effects or something like that so I so to be fair I’m not really a show person but I have been watching the only anim me I’ve really been watching this JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure which I’ve been loving I’ve been loving lately but yeah so and I definitely recommend it if you want to watch it though you don’t have to everyone has their own right to watch whatever they want I just I recommend it cuz it is fun but only if you want oh my God I’m going to should I save the rooms for some other time or should I do the room should I get rid of the Christmas decorations in the other I don’t know I I’m talking nonsense I’m talking nonsense just do it now my Thun my thumb keeps on going why you keep on going to sleep what’s going on why why what have I done what have I done to deserve this by the way um uh what was I oh yes so Frozen so Frozen was supposed to come out in like the ‘ 50s or something like that but then um but then production was just too much and blah blah blah and yeah it was just too expensive and blah blah blah blah and so then by the 70s they were going to do it but then it was too expensive and blah blah blah and eventually the 2000s came and even and now that they were doing bigger at that point the Disney Renaissance which was like the early ’90s late 80s early ’90s was like going on so so they didn’t uh so they could obviously do a big production like frozen or the Snow Queen by that time so the 2000s it was originally the Frozen was supposed to come out in 2003 and they did change the story a little bit it was still very much like the original H christianis version of The Snow Queen story or frozen I should say but the version that um but then they were planning to release it again after it got cancelled in 2007 I think and that’s the 2000 version is the the Frozen version that we know today and what I mean by that is they changed the story so the 2003 version still had the Snow Queen but the difference with the 2003 version is is they still um kept the sister and the brother but I think they put more character development and had one of them related to The Snow Queen like had the powers kind of like Elsa or Anna I forgot which one it was sorry sorry it’s been a while um uh but yes but yes so God damn it I cannot think um sorry everyone I don’t know why I said God damn it I’m just tired of not thinking um um but yeah but the 2007 version is when they changed it to sisters and all that and that is the version that eventually came out in 2013 which is frozen so hello kitty cats and the one that I watched when I was very little and I didn’t actually I don’t hate Frozen it’s just definitely not my theme very much even back when I first watched it when I was really little and I don’t and I don’t hate Disney stories um cuz I or princess stories cuz there’s a lot of princess stories I really like I think I will say this I do like frozen probably more than most of the Disney Princesses films just because they put more character development in that one and and to be honest they kind of make the princesses a little more not the not the the one not the not the younger sister one the one without the magical powers but the but Anna they kind of made her a little morally gray a little bit just a little bit I felt that she was a little morly gray a little bit just a little bit or maybe she becomes more better in the second one I did not see the second one I have not seen the second one and I don’t know why but I’m just not really interested watching the second one I don’t like sequels period um I never besides Toy Story 2 but even Toy Stories 2 I had some issues with because it just doesn’t I’ve never really liked sequels I don’t like when franchises continue and before were like oh but you like TV shows that always continue yes and I don’t completely like that either I will be completely honest there’s sometimes where I’m like watching season one season 1 and I’m like what is this what is this so yeah so I don’t hate franchises continuing it’s just I probably I’m I’m a I’m the original and what I mean by I’m the original person is this I love the first like Feeny like the first act I guess of this franchise and I stick with that just because I I enjoy that the the first one I like the one I like the story that starts at all basically I don’t like the sequels I’m I’m a I’m a first person person excellent I’m sure everyone knew what exactly we were talking about TJ so so yeah so I don’t hate sequels definitely not there’s some sequels I like probably more uh I did like Gremlins 2 but the more I think about it I kind of like Gremlins 1 just because it’s honestly more relaxing and there’s a lot more character development Gremlins 2 is just like bang we’re going straight to the action very little character development besides small Snippets now before people before people criticize me Gremlins to Gremlins 1 didn’t have the best character development as much I will say there’s more character development in Gremlins 2 than Gremlins no Gremlins 1 than Gremlins 2 Gremlins 2 has very little character development besides occasional bits but to be honest that’s like just what ‘ 80s films were or ‘ 80s media was really there was very little character development in that era except very rare films that did do character development a lot more but it to be honest it felt like to be honest my opinion from someone that has watched not a lot of 80s films but I would say yeah I would say the I I have seen a lot of 8s like films It Feels Like Jesus Christ I thought I almost like squished you to death God oh okay I should not have wored cuz I used the carpet it wasn’t the red block okay good oh God that scared me um but as someone that has watched a lot of older films particularly ‘ 80s ones I can safely say that unless they were like high school dramas or not high school dramas High School films like 16 candles or or just very rare films or drama films they very rarely showed character development or it was very small Snippets it was like a little tiny like you got a little you got a little like um what do they call it um when you like go to to like a candy shop and you get free s samples you only got like s small samples of character development just little small ones little small twinklets but very little but very lot of it at least that’s what I feel and what I mean by character development is not like the whole like of course it’s still going to be character development when there’s like an action moment or very serious situations cuz then you see how this the character deals with serious situations and all that so of course there’s still character development but I’m talking more like what are they like every day basically not when there’s like someone about to murder them you know what I mean like everyday scenario like waking up or meeting a friend or going to lunch and like all that they don’t really they didn’t really do that back in the’80s and to be honest they still kind of don’t do that very much in any entertainment really I feel like it’s coming I think people are doing that a little bit more but not not as much as I think it can be done but yeah anyways whatever let’s open the book look at the maps well we don’t really have to look at the maps but all right then we will where the hell
