Went into this uh we’re working with a Gamers Outreach so a wonderful charity we’re going to talk way more about it as we go along um but uh yeah welcome everybody so a few things to remember and I need you guys to help me with this okay all right

Is I can’t even do the math give my cat it’s uh so so like trans so uh each card is 3500 um for North America there is a little bit of extra cost to get to Europe and Australia um and this was a question I saw are

These cards going worldwide they are so these carts are are going to basically any hospital that accepts them and we are very excited because when I when I when I was trying to come up with like what we want to do for this event I wanted something that you could tangibly

See that your money went to that is helping somebody that money didn’t just disappear that money went to that cart it’s in that poor kid’s room that’s sick and needs a little something uh to get their mind off of being sick and you can see that and like hopefully we’re gonna

Get pictures maybe even get to go and visit the car maybe we’ll see that’s all up to the hospitals of course and their their discretion especially with Kobe um so uh yeah that is unbelievable that is so many cards we’re gonna be we’re gonna send these around the world I can’t wait to

See like a map right a map and we’re like these are all the carts around the world that we that we’ve donated to and kids will be able to play and there’ll be like a little little piece on the top of the cart that says hopefully like donated by the hermitcraft community

Which is amazing is it 11. all right let me let me show you a little surprise here let me show you a little surprise hold on oh we beat the goal we beat the goal guys we already hit 25 and we haven’t even started the stream yet we haven’t

Joy to kids that are very very sick in the hospital um and I think that’s a really really wonderful thing somebody’s spent half my life in a hospital I can relate instead of staring at the white wall watching the hand of the clock tick one tick at a time

Um so bring a little joy to kids in these situations is uh what we’re here for today and uh super excited because I I had a bunch of speeches planned but then we already beat the goal and it’s been a whole thing that I’m just thrown

Off now and so best way of introducing their Charities we’re very very much honored to have the founder and the director of the charity with us Zach I met Zach way back in my con 2016. um I was looking at the the schedule for that day and they were going to

Introduce the shulkers the end cities and the llamas and I was like oh this charity looks interesting and I bailed and went to that and I was like this is really cool and I was like someday we’re gonna do something for this charity and finally that day has come so uh Zach if

Uh if you have a minute um just maybe give us a little brief intro to the charity and and that’d be that’d be awesome yeah hey what’s up everybody how are you guys thanks for having me hello I mean thanks so much for organizing this broadcast uh you guys

Have barely started and I’m watching this meter this is insane yeah wow wow wow it hasn’t crashed yet this is so so incredible you guys are amazing yeah just a few quick words on Gamers Outreach um uh you know first off thanks again for inviting us this is

Awesome I do remember Minecon back in the day Ryan that’s such a yeah that panel with Nate uh you came by and then we met again at twitchcon uh we had the go-kart Prototype at the time how much has changed uh our organization focuses on making entertainment more accessible

Inside hospitals and we specifically do that through video games uh the main reason is I believe video games make play accessible at scale if we can give hospitals the tools to manage video game devices and video game content easily it can provide all the kids and families

That are receiving care with access to activities at the same time you know regardless of age and you know sometimes physical circumstance um you know simply put uh I’m in my 30s now if I was in the hospital I’m well I’m not in the hospital I want to play

Video games if I was in the hospital I would definitely want to play video games and 10 year olds have just as much fun on the Xbox as we do so yeah we’re super focused on basically building a world where one day we’ll all look back and ask ourselves remember when hospitals didn’t

Have video games that’s sort of the objective and uh We’ve made some great progress I mean since uh I guess since Minecon 2016 um I think we were probably less than 20 hospitals I’d have to go back and look but we were not very we were not in a

Ton of hospitals we were just really Gamers Arch was just kind of starting to grow a bit more now we’re in about 370 Healthcare facilities uh primarily in the US we’re starting to thank you yeah it’s awesome and honestly a lot of those the result of you guys

Um The Gaming Community coming together producing streams like this helping make an impact in hospitals that are in their their areas I mean the fact is you know we have a small International presence but I think this broadcast you guys are doing today is going to help reach a lot

More International hospitals outside the US which is so cool so um I mean a lot because you’re already at what is it now since we’ve been talking 75 75 75. ladies and gentlemen okay it’s in the bag we are officially moving to 100 000 wow there we go

I had four incentives made for the stream thinking like yeah we’ll be fine I’m like I’m panicly making hundreds of thousand dollar goals over here like oh my God oh my God exactly thank you thank you so much for for coming out thank you so much for starting this this

Charity that you know brings a lot of Hope to kids in the hospitals like like I said as as somebody spent most of my life in the hospital staring at the white wall watching the hand tick is demoralizing and if you get like five seconds of some form of normalcy to me

That helps that that helps a ton and I’m sure that helps in the outcomes of the patients knowing that for like you know just a few minutes of normalcy can honestly be better than some pain medicines and um so yeah yeah thank you for starting thank you for joining us

And hopefully we can uh bring some more carts to the world one of the best things about this is we are bringing these internationally um so not just the United States not just Canada but Europe Australia it’s going to be awesome to see these carts all over the world so

So we have a games master here he goes by the name of Cafe where shall we go first all right so first one thing we’re gonna do we’re gonna go over to uh a massive incredible chaotic game called total chaos um so we actually have to leave this

Room any of the rooms we put everything in the barrel we just take it you won’t need you won’t need anything for this game hence uh you might want to keep just a smidge of food like just a couple bits of food yeah sweet oh yep some giga pies some gigaf

Grab a set of armor it should be protection for iron armor so there’s armor on the armor stands there’s additional armor in The Sparrows with the uh the frames on them right here sweet grab one set of armors 100K yeah perfect I’m just gonna mute them for a second I can’t I can’t fathom the amount of money that we just have raised with your generosity and you’re incredible but I can’t even speak incredible support um we have a bunch of stuff planned like Martin reading out the donations and

Herman’s senses if we hit milestones we blew by every possible Milestone that we could even have of fathomed at the start of the Stream all the things that we made like the incentives for goals all just got thrown out we’re still gonna do them obviously but

Oh this took a lot of planning and I’m just I’m very happy this is working out our sharpest lives toward yes uh a night vision potion and just a small bit of food yeah it’s spawn yeah you can you can grab the glowberries I recommend five glowberries instead of your traditional food so

Whatever your food is throw it out just just five of a cup just just five Justice that’s your spawn yeah oh oh okay all right all right I’m gonna focus on chaos okay emotional yeah you go up go up this uh scaffolding and stay near the middle of the Arena go

Ahead and drink your potion all right I’ll start the game this is a PVP game that where you battle to the death stay close to the center that’s all I’m gonna say no jumping all right ooh glass here we go I’m gonna I’m gonna get it started here we go

When the countdown starts uh you’ll hear it uh if you have your note blocks enabled make sure and turn your uh friendly sounds off too for the Minecraft oh really sounds okay hang on that sounds is off okay that’s where that sound comes from friendly creatures

Easy everybody else everybody else is going to the horse course uh now we might want to go I’m gonna go through the games first just to make sure that people know how to play like yes yes I’ll start with absolutely Tango so let’s go yeah let’s go to basala Sauce

There’s Rockets over here in the chest we’re gonna try and read out as many as possible of course but but this is so unbelievably amazing from the community around us and it just gives me so much hope like in this world so from us to all of you

A 2v2 game the idea is to kind of be the last team alive the bar back here is your health bar and when that goes to zero your team loses so as the game is going on from the sky is going to be dropping snowballs and basalt blocks you

Pick up the Snowballs you bring them back over here you throw them in the barrel and that will load up your ammunition bar which is this one over here as long as this bar has some lights lit up your TNT cannon on the other side will be launching TNT onto the other

Team’s platform making giant holes in their Basalt platform uh so now that snowballs that are falling down they are good for your team’s animation but if they fall through one of your holes uh it counts against your health it hurts your health so you wanna you wanna use

The basalt you’re getting to patch up the holes that uh that are being made by the other team’s TNT uh so in the back here as well you can you can configure your Canon and give it like high low medium trajectory or strong or weak power to hit various parts of the

Platform you want to spread it out and make as many holes as you can everywhere absolutely Bonkers this is so cool you’re on it well done and there is a crow’s nest here where you can uh check the other team and see where their holes are yeah

This one here starts the game correct yeah I’ll I’ll press that and stuff like that so don’t worry about that everybody who’s playing though make sure you sleep there’s a little side room there go in there and drop your stuff off and sleep in the bed all right so this is a chance

He will die initially this is Tango impulse uh Scar and pearl okay [Laughter] he had a prior commitment but he will said he will try to make it right here yeah all right Cub do you want to move to dunk tank over here you’re free to start over

Barrel you set your spawn you don’t have any arm or anything when you’re playing this um you take snowballs from here and you bounce these like this towards the targets on the other side oh my that’ll light up a lamp and you have to light up all the lamps

To win the game when that happens this is Cubs Brilliance when that happens these uh these blocks fall out from beneath you and you fall down to your death in the pit uh you play best of five so it’s a very quick game um and the first to five wins also the

Target on top that will dispense powdered snow to Blind your opponent temporarily uh that was cool yeah that’s basically it just get all the targets uh on the opposite side uh this game I think this is initially me sorry uh b-dub is green Zs and Doc

Once again where do you where do you stand you just destroyed himself on these concrete okay uh also the uh the buttons on the side these will will reset so yeah if there’s if there’s lights already on it should automatically reset but buttons on the side will reset it if it hasn’t happened

Fast good jumpers and believe it or not if you notice these white horses here uh the original horses were Brown and uh as I was breeding I come to find that the the uh brown horses had a recessive crate a recessive gene what Etho and some of them are fast and some are

Slow hey careful so you pick a saddle okay uh Cleo’s already done it you should appreciate horse more everybody our way over here everyone what does the guys do how many you pick a saddle pick your horse pick your leather armor diet a unique color and then you get a

Crossbow with 32 arrows and you use those arrows to shoot targets around the the racetrack uh to start the the thing you hit this button here and then you’ll hear it it doesn’t matter you go around four laps first to finish get to Point can’t even do what what are the targets

Like other other players okay here’s a fine example good question here’s a fine example of a Target okay right here so if you hit this behind will drop a potion that will benefit you in some way whether it be slowest mingling um uh fast leaping healing stuff like

That uh some of them there’s a Target just over here that has a swiftness Arrow you can shoot your horse with and stuff uh just keep an eye out for targets if you see him shoot him all right everybody these two have the same color armor what’s wrong with you guys Leos um

In like a sticky Zone where they’re slower to move so knock opponents into those bits grab as much scaffolding as you can and the player with the most at the end is the winner oh my gosh yeah I thought we also just got a 300gs everybody for half a million before the

Just in a dispensers so they’ll be shooting out the dispenser when the game is running they’re very easy to spot when the game okay is there eight though is there a way to know who wins or is this like a timed game or yeah so I

Um so from like personal life to like you know get everything done it is just it has been so much and to see just the just oh words that I can’t even express that you showed up as a community and you supported the charity and us I I’ll now obviously like this might

Sound I don’t know like it’s like oh of course you’re part of the community or whatever it’s like of course you would say it’s the best but I genuinely believe that the hermit Community is the best community in the gaming space and yeah that might be a little bit

Self-centered or bombastic or whatever but I genuinely believe that to my heart that the hermitcraft community is the best most positive and wonderful Community out there you you go above and beyond to support us when we try our Darkness to entertain you as best we can

But and then you guys show up like this for for us to help support a charity and and that just means that means so so so so very much and I hope you guys know how absolutely like from the bottom of our hearts how much we appreciate you guys

And how much you guys do for us and how hard we work to make sure you guys have fun videos and entertainment like so yeah just from the bottom of our heart like thank you like this week we we unfortunately three things collided on the same week so charity stream uh

Finishing the labyrinth in a secret project and all of that took place um all of that took place on one on one week and on top of that at one point like we got a call that we were under like prepare to evacuate orders we

Had to pack up all of our stuff pack up jelly and luckily like we didn’t really feel like we were going to be in danger like we were we were like 11 12 miles from it but um we still had to like pack up just in

Case because if the Smoke’s bad then I can’t breathe and we have to go regardless even if we’re safe like in terms of from the house from the fire but like we had to do that um just dealing with so many things in my life insurance dropping my insurance

My insurance just dropped my network hospital this week but but just seeing that this actually went well just means so much to me because we worked so hard on this and just thank you so much this was a heck of a week and just to see that that this this worked I don’t

Know I mean it means a lot uh I’m tired I am I am tired um yeah thank you guys I don’t even know what else to say I just wanted to notice yeah thank you I’m just hanging here now apparently I was just hanging foreign I know I know like you know

Like the the charity itself like it’s hard to express like the absolute utter isolation of being in a hospital and you know the healthcare workers do have just a fantastic job of doing their absolute best they can to make you comfortable um but at the end of the day being in a

Hospital is not so much to be comfortable it’s it’s to get better um but when you’re in there you know it’s it’s incredibly isolating like you just feel like you’re just locked away um and that’s like 10 times worse for kids and being isolated like that

Um can have such a that can even you know hinder even the you know the healing process and stuff like that so having a kid be able to lose themselves in Minecraft for a few minutes and get away from the beeping the blood pressure cuff the the medicines the

Um you know the necessity like at your door all the time with people coming and going and just to lose yourself in like a game for a little while like I genuinely believe from above my heart that that will help just a small bit that that kid to get over a

Little bit better or to deal with or to manage what they’re going through um I was in the hospital once for it was like a week maybe it was like a week and then they came to me and they were like and they were like Okay so we’ve

Inserted this feeding tube in you and here’s the problem it doesn’t work and uh so what we’re gonna do is we need to order a part we need to order a part from um from Salt Lake City and I live I live in the Northwest this isn’t far this is

This is like one state two states over at best um and they’re like uh but you’re gonna have to stay in the hospital for eight days until this park gets delivered this is gonna be eight days until it got delivered I sat there staring at the wall for eight days because I couldn’t

Go home um because being in the hospital I had to have this part fixed and so like just the thought of like having something like this this is crazy and for like another time when when I was um when I was first sick it was 27

Um we went to it in pulmonary pulmonary appointment I was much worse breathing then I was actually much much sicker and the pulmonologist looked at me and she said I hate to say this but I need you to understand that I need to take you to the ICU

So at that time I told the story before at that time we had left the house so stressed because of everything that was going on my breathing was collapsing and the jelly sadly got outside and when she was brand new she was just a little kitten and

So jelly so jelly got out luckily our neighbor got her and you know we get there and you know the pulmonologist then says if if you will I I’d like to wheel you to the ICU and then so then that that day within within probably two hours I was tricked

Um out of out of recovery um and I was in the hospital for like three I think I was in the hospital for three weeks with pneumonia because I got pneumonia about three to four days after getting tricked um originally the ventilator was just supposed to be kind of like when I need

It and then it became permanent and eventually I was able to wean obviously that’s why I have that scarf um wean off of it took a lot of work had to travel all the way to bail um but anyway um when I was in that hospital and stuff

Like that that was like three weeks of never leaving a room so I envisioned being in your room right now think about like being in your bedroom and never leaving it for three weeks like the door’s always closed you can’t see out the window you just stare at the clock tick

So once I started feeling better on the last leg of it the nurses like they’re like Okay so here’s the deal we don’t we have a checkers game but I can’t guarantee tear you all the checkers are in the Box obviously this ICU you know they they’re

Not they’re not they’re not you know super super worried to make sure everybody’s entertained but um but just the thought of being able to do is a little something during that time I could tell you that it would have meant the world um and the TV didn’t work by the way it

Was it turned it on it was it was black and white with a slight yellowish blue hue on one corner and I was like it’s fine if you don’t if you don’t remember that’s the same trip when when I was really when I was actually vent dependent and I went home the ventilator

Died on the way home and my mom um Ambu bagged me all the way back to the emergency room and my Dad ran out of the car and he was like he ran into the ER and he’s like the better later died the better later died and then uh and then they’re like

They’re like what and they start they run out there and they realize oh they’re like they thought maybe I wasn’t breathing but no my mom the superhero she is she was like she’s begging me he’s like it’s okay he’s big we got him we got him we got him we got him um

And uh yeah that was that that was that trip that was that trip uh word of the wise make sure you make sure if you’re if you’re a Healthcare company that provides equipment you gotta check the batteries man you gotta check the batteries you gotta check the batteries

Before you give a a thing like that to a patient oh my gosh oh my gosh yeah there’s there’s a million of these stories eventually as I said I was weaned from the from the from the vent uh it took a lot of work

We we my mom and my mom my dad and I we got in a car so we left Washington State so if you’re not familiar with the United States this geography that is on the West Coast and uh what we did was we we packed up the ventilator packed up the supplies

And we drove all the way to Minnesota where the Mayo Clinic is famous Hospital um and they they have something there I don’t know if they still have it or not but what they had there at the time was a a specific vent weaning clinic and their specialty was to

Um figure out the best way to get somebody off a ventilator and they were able to do it for me it’s a long story of like how I got vent dependent it was mostly because I just couldn’t regain the ability after being pneumonia for so long but eventually

With training and stuff like that I was able to more and more and more breathe off of it and luckily I’ve been off the ventilator like well I think I’ve been on it like eight times since then but but off of it in terms of like permanent permanentness huh

I don’t know I I I just appreciate you guys for this and like I said call me anything you want but we hermitcraft together all have the best community in the gaming space and I’ll wager to say the best community in all of all of YouTube and all of twitch and

Yeah I know that might be a little bombastic that might be a little self-centered but I I believe it from the bottom of my heart that we have the absolute best positive most amazing most compassionate most fun and funny and creative people anywhere there’s you

Guys treat us well and I I I really hope you know that we love you and we we think of you guys as the absolute best that’s right that’s why we that’s why we have such a great Community here but yeah if you guys have any q a

Questions if you want to know anything um anything else about the charity um how this is all going to work um so my microphone is literally falling off the wall um so so if you donated through tiltify um all of those donations go directly to the charity so no hermit has Hands-On

All right so just making sure you guys know this um so no Hermits have hands on the money that money went directly to tiltify tiltify is a charity aggregator that helps Charities like gamer Outreach um you know deal with the finances of the donations and then that money then

Goes to Gamers Outreach for them when they start constructing the carts I don’t know the timeline on the uh construction of the carts um so I will get that information to you as soon as I see it um so what they’re they’re saying is that uh

Um so how we’re going to ship these uh worldwide is they’re going to go on to like containers um you know like the big shipping containers they’re going to fill those up I forgot how they explained this but it was like cheaper to fill a container than send a signal unit you know

Shipping’s crazy uh I don’t know something like that anyway so there’s that um so yeah once again yeah no Hermits touched the money all the money goes directly that’s the only way I would ever do a charity thing is that if the money goes directly to the charity um traffic

So I’m trying to think it’s not it it’s it’s what you guys did today we just built mini games and got no sleep it’s you it’s you it’s you um one thing I asked the the charity and they they were excited and down for it

Was um we need to make a a map a world map so like a world map and then once we we figure out where all the carts are gonna go I wanna I wanna put little pins in all the spots that the carts are gonna go it’s like the first wave of

Like transparency to show you what we’ve done and where the money’s gonna go um so that’s that’s an important thing that I think because one of the things with this charity that that appealed to me was that when you donate you see you see where the money went if that makes sense you

See that the the money that you donated went to that cart that’s in that hospital room that that that’s that poor you know sick kid playing that game um it’s not just going into just a nebulous like so that’s that’s what’s nice about it and then if if hospitals allow

Um we may be able to go and deliver and or visit the carts and so you can kind of see us with it or you know at the very least if the hospital has like policy that you know visitors are just not not super great at the moment that’s

Totally cool they’re gonna send us photos of all the carts in the hospital so um so yeah that that is that’s really cool so the carts you know have two controllers they’ve got the Xboxes in there um they got the gaming monitor they got the equipment so you know

Height so they can move it up and down for the for the bed and you know one thing with two looking at that cart is yeah it just looks like a cart but that card has to be designed to last if that makes sense think about like something that

That needs to be like in an industrial sense it needs to last it needs to it needs to be banged around needs to be hit needs to be thrown up on needs to you know in case of emergency that car just gets thrown out the wind out the

Door and still needs to survive for the next kid if that makes sense so those things are built like a rock a lot of time and energy went into those those carts um oh man it’s wild okay so I just got a message from one of the the charity people

Um it this is a rough uh guess this is a rough guess but we can we can say that we potentially funded 100 carts that’s a rough guess um obviously once you know donations come through once shipping costs are calculated if you’re familiar with shipping it’s insane

Um so yeah we’re looking at over a hundred carts being delivered to hospitals um and then that can provide 290 gaming sessions a year so like think about like every time a kid plays there’ll be like 290 000 times a year that a kid turns on that that console and starts playing so

290 000 times that that cart will be activated and a kid will be playing that that’s that’s insane so like think about this way like when these are delivered there’s most likely a chance that these carts are going to be played Seven Days Seven Days seven days a week 24 hours

There’s there’s some carton around the world and and I see us quite a quite a bit and I I feel it and this is what one reason I wanted to make sure we did it made sure we had an international charity was that um you know obviously

Everybody’s from around the world in the community we need to represent that everybody and and this this is great because we’re going to be able to bring this to all the continents that we live in bring them to our local hospitals but I just love the fact that like 290 000 game sessions

That’s that’s awesome and then of course what a guess is that it would be about a hundred cards I thought it would have been amazing if we got 10. if we got 10 cards I was like 10 cards would be so cool we got 90 more of them

Um inputs that you can use with your mouth your eyes um you know just portions of your your hands there’s even I’ve seen feet feet controllers there’s many things that can hook into this and allow anybody or at least at least as many people as possible to be able to maybe have a

Little bit of fun playing a game because think about right now if like one day you woke up and you have you know sadly you know God forbid you have some kind of ailment that takes your ability to play games again now that’s that’s a demoralizing thing that can be but

What’s beautiful about in today’s world is like there is thought towards people like that and that’s where the Xbox adaptive controller came from and there’s just so many little inputs they can use to give somebody the ability to play a game again so yeah that’s that’s the Adaptive

I’m like hey feeding tubes game station that’s already there I’m gonna tape you up and so it’s like it’s squeaking because it’s like there’s pressure in it content creators in general speaking I’ve had no time to fix it plus I lost all my doctors at all that’s fun that’s

Real talk of scars you know so I have to do it myself just scar surgery I can guarantee you in four hours you’re going to love the end process and you’re going to love what end result comes from here’s something here’s something that because you know those yellow gowns they

Wear put into words but it’s those yellow gowns super Eerie in the hospital when like everyone used to see is in yellow it was like a yellow mask so you never see like the face of a person Martin this is another reason why like I was passionate

About this because your mind can get crazy in a hospital donation I mean there’s hospital delirium but the gamer but I feel like it’s different like see him right there with those those gowns on everything that a child especially when they’re wearing like the mask all you see is everyone wearing

Yellow with a yellow mask you never see anyone’s face and especially if you’re in isolation it’s difficult and then that’s all you see really crazy it’s really scary brilliant so like I feel like in those scenarios if like a kid is able to play a game and

Like lose themselves from the world that they’re in like that um that’s really cool hello um because like personal experience of like being in those situations I don’t know what it is but it gets real crazy like your mind just sees everybody as yellow and faceless yellow people and if I feel

Like if you’re like hallucinating or having like a little bit of cognitive issues like depending on how you’re what’s going on like I feel like that could make you go a little crazy it did to me it did to me um but yeah it’s crazy yeah it’s it’s uh it’s it’s something

That uh it’s just one of the one of the many reasons why I think that when when you have an opportunity to escape that world of being trapped um when you’re trapped into that uh that space and you’ll be able to like do something else like it’s a huge benefit
