In this video I’m going to tell you how to cross play on minecraft this will teach you everything you need to know about Minecraft cross platform plays so to begin with what versions of Minecraft can cross play any minecraft bedrock edition version can cross play this is Any version of the game which is just called minecraft and doesn’t have a subtitle so the versions of the game that can cross play are the Xbox one Nintendo switch ps4 Pocket Edition and Windows 10 now any of the versions to the game that does have a subtitle for example Minecraft gr edition or any of the old legacy might have come to additions such as the Xbox one edition Xbox 360 edition or ps3 edition can not cross play if you are trying to cross play on the Xbox one the ps4 and then tend to switch you need To make sure you are playing a new version of Minecraft on the Xbox and switch this will be a completely new game and it’s a wonder it’s just called minecraft on the PlayStation 4 you need to make sure you’re playing a new version of the game and not the one Under the auditions button if you are playing on a version of minecraft who can cross play then you need to make yourself a Microsoft account in order to cross play if you are on the Xbox one you already have a Microsoft account and you don’t need to create anything as the Xbox one uses Microsoft account so as long as you have an Xbox account that’s fine on the Xbox one however you will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription on the Xbox one on the other versions though you’ll just need a free Microsoft account I don’t need to pay for anything Once you’ve conveyed to your accounts you then need to link it now if you are on the Xbox one you already be logged into your account and it just uses your logged in Xbox accounts if you are on the Windows 10 or Pocket Edition you can simply sign into The account you just created however if you are on the PlayStation 4 or in ten DOS which version it’s a little bit more complicated now I don’t have a PlayStation 4 I don’t have minecraft on switch so I’m not a hundred percent sure how this works however I Believe you will get a message that pops up on the screen which will ask you to enter a code on a website and this will link your accounts together if you need to know more information about how to link your Microsoft account to your PlayStation or Nintendo accounts then go Ahead and google it as there will be some results on there that can help you better but it should be pretty self-explanatory and I believe it will come up with instructions when you first load up the game unfortunately if you are playing on PlayStation 4 you will need a PS Plus subscription Nintendo’s which you will need intend to switch online once you have successfully signed into your Microsoft account in Minecraft and linked your accounts if you need to for the platform you are playing on then you can go ahead and add people as friends in order to play with Them so the way you add people is using their Microsoft account name their minecraft name or the Xbox game attack it’s got several different names but you basically want to use their gamertag for this account so for their minecraft Microsoft or Xbox accounts if you are on The Xbox one you can’t just add people the same way you would add anybody on Xbox as it has inbuilt menus and you’re basically just adding another player’s Xbox game attack as this is what their Microsoft account is if you are on the PlayStation 4 of a Nintendo Stritch Version then you have several different options you can either invite people straight through the game itself by going into a world hitting the pause but I’m going to invite friends and then go to invite cross-play friends you can vent type in somebody’s gamertag or name And then you can add them as a friend and also invite them to your world or you can use the Xbox app or you can use the Xbox website or you can also use the Xbox application on Windows computers as well so once you have added somebody as A friend you then can go ahead and you can join any of their open worlds they can join your open worlds and you can invite that player to your world or receive invites from that player if you are in the Windows 10 or Pocket Edition You can do a similar method you can hit the pause button once you are in the game go to invite friends go to add friends and then you can type in the person’s account name now if you are going to be playing on any version of Minecraft cross-play apart from the Xbox One I would suggest you have the Xbox app on your mobile device you have the Xbox app on a Windows 2 content computer or you use the Xbox website because it’s a lot easier to be able to add people to be able to invite people and also you Can message people and use Xbox parties if you want to as well now if you are on the Xbox one you can also get the Xbox app if you want to but on the Xbox one they do have a pretty good system as they have the Xbox menus built into the System before you go ahead and cross play right now there are a couple of things you need to know first of all make sure that you’re all playing on the same latest update because if some of you are playing on an outdated version it might not allow for you to play Together also make sure that you add people through their Xbox gamer tag or with a Microsoft name don’t add them through the PlayStation account name or through Nintendo switch ID because this will not work you need to add people through V Microsoft account name for their minecraft name but they just committed Through the Microsoft account if you have any questions about how to cross play on minecraft or Minecraft cross play in general or you did me help in a struggling with this let me know in the comment section down
