So to start things off i realize that my microphone speaker is right next to the skulk sensor and you may be thinking shouldn’t the skulk sensor be picking up my sound we have to remember that the skulk sensor picks up vibrations and not necessarily all types of noise at this point in time But i’d like to welcome you and today i wanted to talk a bit about the warden in the skulk blocks and how they might possibly work as we do not know very much about them apart from the skulk sensor and like myself and many others we’re all very curious about these new Additions to the game and as many people have noted the warden and skulk blocks feel so original and thought out as do many of the features in the caves and cliffs update and one of these new additions to the game is the warden and i don’t think i’ve Ever been as excited and intrigued about a mob as i am about the warden as are many of you and while we’re all excited about the word in the skulk blocks i’m glad that the mojing team are taking their time to work on these features and design them So let’s start things off with the skulk blocks i wonder if the warden will use these to his advantage just like it uses the skulk sensor to find out your whereabouts and i’m not entirely sure if there are official names for these blocks but for the purposes of this video i’ll be Giving them names that could be similar to the actual locks so of course we have the skulk sensor and i’ll be calling the other blocks the sculpt growth sculpt block sculpt jaw and skulk stone so the first block we will be looking at will be the scope jaw And i actually haven’t heard many people talking about the skulk jaw i think the reason for this is because it blends in quite well next to the other skulk blocks therefore possibly going unnoticed i wonder if this could be intentional as the sculpt jaw might be a bit of a trap block just Like powder snow it almost appears like you could even fall into the skull jaw if you weren’t paying attention and i actually have seen a few people talking about how the skulk jaw might actually be some sort of trap block as we can see with this creeper here but Not to worry we’ll go ahead and take him out of the sculpture i also noticed that the skulk jaw is somewhat reminiscent of the warden’s chest i wonder if the glowing faces in the warden’s chest are mobs that have fallen into the sculpture it even looks like the warden could jump Out of the skulk after enough mobs have fallen into this gulk jaw i’d want to stay far away from a glowing skulk job if this was the case and if you were to fall into a sculpt jaw perhaps the way to make it release you would be to simply swing your sword at It a few times this could be quite tricky if you were to fall into one while the warden was chasing you going back to the idea that the warden might use the skull blocks to its advantage okay so while i was writing the script i was rewatching the warden clip from Minecraft live and i noticed something that definitely surprised me and it’s actually regarding the skulk jaw so i hadn’t really noticed before but the skulk jaw actually is in the warden clip as you can see here and here i was watching the clip to see If king b dogs actually stood on top of the skulk jaw at any point it looks like right here the skulk shot is right behind them and i actually couldn’t quite tell if king b dogs was right on it or not but i was a bit disappointed when i realized that it Might not function how i thought it would and this right here would be proving it as the proof is right here in the caves and closed video but then i saw this next part that i never picked up on and i actually had to do a double take when i realized what i Saw so king b dogs jumps back after shooting the warden and i spotted this right here those 10 pixels were not there a second ago as you can see here it’s not there and then suddenly here it appears as soon as king b dogs was getting closer and closer it appears That the not looking block as available seems to be some sort of source block for all of the other skull blocks it also looks like in stone underneath the skull and i’ve heard quite a few people talking about this idea as well and the sculpt blocks being very in Styled in design and possibly having something to do with the end is very cool i also really like the idea of the warden somehow guarding the stronghold and in portal but other than the skulk stone being some sort of source block i actually couldn’t think of very much else it could do But while writing the script for this video i had a bit of an interesting idea imagine if the warden could send signals to the skulk stone while it was chasing you and the warden would only send signals to the skulk stone when you were making contact with the skulk blocks or skull gross Or the warden would send signals to the skulk’s stone when you were about to make contact with the scope blocks or squeal gross and once the skulk stone received the signal from the warden suddenly the skulk would become much more difficult to walk on almost like walking through sludge Making you slower and giving the warden the advantage once again because of the skull blocks this also gives the skulk block and skull growth a unique functionality i’ve never said the word skulk so much in my life and also from the caves and cliffs video i noticed that the skulk stone even Seems to glow as you can see here and here i also didn’t realize but this block here looks different from the other skull blocks that we’ve already seen so i’m not sure if this is something different or not it’s got a bit of an ender chest look to it in my opinion Okay the warden one thing that i really like about the warden is that it seems you won’t be able to easily attack it just by hiding under a few blocks and hitting it over and over and you won’t be able to build up a few blocks to escape it and i’ve heard a Couple times that the warding gets faster the more that you attack it and from what mojing has said it really seems like the warden is a mob that will be very different from every other mobs in terms of how it behaves and i think that is fantastic that the Warden is going to be a mob that you’ll probably need to think twice about interacting with but what ways could the ward encounter our methods as we can see here our player is hiding under a block and let’s just say that the warden cannot get them But what if the warden could grow skulk underneath itself to get to you when itself cannot so the warden will use the skulk to try to trap you into a skulk jaw when it can’t reach you i also like the idea of the word in having some sort of ranged attack to Counter the players that build up a few blocks perhaps the warden could shoot a skulk projectile at the player making them fall off there have also been a few ideas that the warden might be able to break blocks to get to you but we wouldn’t want the warden to somehow grieve Something that we spent time building but as i mentioned i do think that mojang will find the right balance the warden should be a true challenge that is fun and it takes strategic thinking whenever you are around it i think that we are all expecting something like this as well mojing has Also mentioned that the warden is more of a mob that is meant to be avoided rather than attacked also with as fast as the warden is i wonder if we’ll be able to swim since there are now large local lakes in the caves because if it just kind of floats Towards you slowly when in the water unless it has a ranged attack we could just shoot with a boat same thing if we can slow it down with a bucket of water but if a player uses a bucket of water to try slowing the warden i think that Warden being able to quickly run through the water source as if it’s not being affected by it would be very cool but if the warden could swim imagine that not only could it find you in the caves but also in the cave lakes this would make both caves and cave Lakes places that the warden could roam and this would also make cave lakes where the warden is a lot less safe because of the time being there aren’t really any hostile mobs that spawn in them to my knowledge and skulk’s sensors can actually be waterlogged it seems like the reason This was added was to silence the noise that the skull sensor makes but what if all the skulk blocks could generate in the cave lakes near the warden as well i also tried placing lava around the skulk sensors in a creative world and at this time none of them caught on Fire and the warden and skulk seemed to be made out of the same thing so it might be immune to lava Video Information
