Are you always making simple minecraft houses like this and then punching out big holes in the wall because you don’t know how to put good details in so you just make huge glass pane windows like this and call it detail well if that’s the case then stick around because i’m going To be teaching you ways to add different types of detail whether you’re an okay detailer or you do what i just showed you this video can help you in some way so stick around and let’s get into the video welcome to the video guys i’m gonna try And make this intro nice and short and sweet because i really want to get into these detailing tricks and i promise you’ll come away from this video a better builder after this so i just want to match real quick guys if you haven’t subscribed yet go ahead And subscribe we do videos like this every week plus more so i think that’s enough let’s get into the detailing so the way this video is going to work guys is we are going to take this right here we’re going to transform it to have detail and good looking textures And all sorts of stuff with that so hopefully i can demonstrate things like adding detail to the build and the first thing i want to talk about is adding depth to make it detailed the first way we’re going to do that is we’re going to put some pillars So we’re going to put a pillar here we’re going to put one in the very middle and we’re going to put one on this end as well and as you can see along with the pillars i pushed the wall back just one block so it’s not in line with These pillars let’s add a little bit of texture to create detail and what you can do is especially on spruce you can toss in barrels on these pillars right here to create a little bit of extra depth what you can also do is right above that with some trapdoors for some even Better detailing and we could do this all the way around the whole pillar this middle one is going to be our entrance so we can knock this out right here and we can create our entrance and add some detail so what you want to do for an entrance Is make sure you have the exact spot where you want the door mapped out so say i want the door right you’re right below those stairs right there let’s replace this with something a little better like a barrel just like that nope not just like that let’s bring some fences down like this And then some stairs like that and that’s a great way to detail these and you could either do trapdoors like this or another example is you could put signs like that on it and do not write on the signs and what we’re going to do is let’s just come in here And put in our door and a great thing to do above doors like this is just toss in a trapdoor and there you go a nice detailed little entrance the next thing we’re going to do to add detail is pop in some pillars this way to separate the roof From the actual base of the buildings next what you want to do is kind of make it look a little more integrated so let’s put in some stairs right here to make it look like it’s being held up now let’s begin to tackle this wall and The first thing i want to do is put fence gates up here and we could either leave them like that or we could open them that’s up to you just a fancy little trick we could do there the next thing i want to do is add In a window so we’ll find the center here which i believe is that yes and let’s put some trapped doors down like right here with a slab in the middle and we’ll get some fences on the underside trapdoors holding it up just like that simple little window right there let’s Punch out the window and actually put in the glass as well just a little window design for you and then something to add detail over here is going to be a little bit of a potted plant we’ll use signs to go around the sides of this instead of trapdoors There we go we have some plants but it just doesn’t look finished yet the last thing i want to do is toss in just a few buttons right here for a little extra spruce color in it and the other thing you could do is put things under here but i think It looks fine the way it is so let’s move on to the second layer to start off this layer we’re going to put some trapdoors on either side of these pillars right there and then we’re going to come up to this spot right here we’re going To put two more trapdoors like this and then i want to kind of put in some stairs right here and we’re going to do some potted plants on these potted flowers and greenery and as you can see down here are all great ways to add detail Take this all in guys and use it in your builds just observe the next thing i want to do is add in a little bit of something funky here we need to put something there because it’s a little bit plain so what if we add in just some alternating slabs just like that Not really holding anything but in this middle one maybe we will put in some lighting we’ll use a lantern because we haven’t put too much lighting in i don’t want to overdo the amount of lighting we use but we could also put one down here if we really wanted to Now when detailing a roof like this i like to just take it in pieces and separate it up so the first thing i want to do is add in some stairs like this and then two here and then possibly a slab like that let’s put in a little bit of a Window here and then it stairs like this and a slab above and we can have a nice little window right here and then i’m just gonna put a slab there as detail to connect it finally we’re going to add in some buttons from below to tie that all together And there you go the side front facing part of a building all completely detailed and i hope a lot of those tips were helpful and the next thing i want to move on to is the roof and as you can see i simply copy and pasted this Over to here and obviously you could change it up it doesn’t have to be symmetrical perfectly but i like the way it looks so the first thing when we’re talking about the roof adding detail the easiest thing to do is stop using stairs if you’re using stairs all the way across All the way sometimes it can look good but i like to use blocks as much as i can we’re gonna use blocks like this the best way to add even more detail to this is to change the texture so if we take a block like this right here which is our green terracotta And we use other blocks to go with it we can make it look like it’s really detailed and as you can see just adding in a complementary color of lime terracotta we already have so much more detail the next thing we can add to roofs is this line going across the top just Like this even on top of that we can add more blocks such as fences or walls or anything like that that’ll add extra detail and what i like to do is do something like that but on the end ones make it a little more detailed for example we might take this and do That instead on these end ones to just make them a little bit different because they are the standout pieces as you can see i like the way that looks a lot another thing you can do with verbs is obviously add in windows and the way i Like to add in windows is just pop down a couple of blocks up down some stairs just like this and then a slab right over the top just like so and as you can see that ties the whole thing together but maybe we need an even bigger window Right here and with a big window you can see all we do is add pillars and a roof similar to how we would do the start of a house and then what we’re gonna do is actually take this and create the same color of the roof on Our window sill to make it look like really a big piece of roof sticking out as opposed to just a window and then we’ll also go through and add the texture as detail in the window and as you can see all i did was add in a stone wall behind it Put it in the same window that we used before a little lantern on top and then a slab right here just to kind of top it off and that could have been a sign a trapdoor or a button as well and now we have the roof coming all the Way through as instead of a window or like a secondary roof sticking all the way through the build now what we’re gonna have to do because this is a symmetrical build take what we have here and put it on this side and there we have it they have been Flipped onto this side and now we have a little bit of fixing up to do and as you can see what i chose to do is connect the two roofs together with one strip going through the middle now to add more detail this gaping hole right here has To be filled so we’re gonna put a wall here and possibly another window because this space is so small the plants and flowers might not work so what we can do instead is actually add a little bit of a balcony in right here something like that should work and then with these windows Now we can add in the pots and flowers right here perfect and now to add the final touch right here we can add some kind of keystone and you know the perfect one is the lodestone so perfect just like that we have some great detail and we can even add More detail around it to make it look a little better and perfect you can never go wrong with some signs and some buttons and hopefully this detailing has taught you a lot about how to detail these sides and everything and the final thing i want to do is add one last little tower On the top here just to show you how to add towers onto your roof for details first we start with a base block we decide where we want the tower to come out and what size it’s going to be and mine’s going to be a three by three just like so and it’s Going to come through like this so once it’s up to here we can just bring it all the way up like this and then once we can get past the roof we can just place things in and perfect a little tower now let’s talk about the detailing The detail this tower we can definitely put in some fences and some walls at the very top to give us a little spike right there and what we can also do is add in some slabs on some of these pieces right here you could use slabs or trap doors They both make it look pretty nice and something like that should help a lot finally let’s try and pop in a window over here and to integrate this into the rest of the build we’re just going to grab some stairs and put them right here possibly Put some slabs on either side and then we’ll do some potted plants right here so that it is the same as down here and there you have it guys the detailing is complete and the last thing you can do to add detail to a roof is put in Chimneys extra windows and maybe even more towers whatever your build looks like it all depends and speaking of if you have a build that you want help with go over to my discord channel and drop it in the channel for your builds and i will personally help you
