This view right here remember this view because by the end of the episode it’s going to be entirely different and no not just because more trees literally grew right as i was doing the intro because we’re going to put a building how’s it going elites it’s Me your boy waddles and welcome back to the minecraft guide i’m excited for today today is the day where i can say at the end of the video that i am no longer homeless technically we’re homeless right now still but it’s okay not for long today we’re Going to build our starter house so today’s episode is going to be the first episode of this series that is all about building we’re going to run through all of the things that i go through usually in my head when i’m making a build both on camera and off camera If you enjoyed today’s episode do me a big favor and hit that like button today’s like goal is going to be 15 000 likes we need 15k of you or one person with that many accounts hit the like button also today i want to see your best Build tip down in the comments below tell me something that i don’t know so today let’s just jump right into things building building in minecraft is a gigantic thing just like with farming the name of the game doesn’t say it but this game is all about building uh okay give me a Break uh we gotta start somewhere okay okay building in minecraft gets even better when you’re good at it becoming good at building is actually a pretty easy thing too but sometimes the thought of building can be a little bit scary i mean seriously you don’t want to waste a Bunch of time on a build that doesn’t even look that good waste a bunch of materials just have to tear it all down to make the building process easier i like to split it up into a couple different steps every single build in minecraft starts with a vision before you build you need To know what you’re trying to build today we are trying to build a starter house i want the starter house to be the best starter house that i have ever built i also wanted to have a couple different roof lines a couple different angles that’s my vision how do you get that Vision though well you can find that vision from a couple different places the first place you could find your vision is of course inside of your head if you have some kind of idea then good go with that idea maybe draw that idea out on a piece of Paper or hop into a creative world and place a few blocks down just to kind of get the feel of things another great place to find inspiration is of course google images it would definitely help you build a castle if you could look at a picture of a castle So easy google castle take a look at the castle then try and build the castle if the build is really complex and you don’t think you’ll be able to get it right the first time in survival mode don’t sweat it go into a creative world and place blocks down start placing things down Be patient and eventually you’ll get the feel just right another great place to find inspiration for your minecraft builds is from uh wait for it minecraft videos like this one right here if you want to build something but you don’t exactly know how try looking it up on youtube and Watching some videos maybe watching somebody else build their version of whatever you’re trying to build will help give you some ideas so to start your build first you need to figure out actually what you’re trying to build get a vision back to our vision today we’re building a starter house Next we need to talk blocks this right here is a block pallet our block pallet is actually missing one block that block can be crafted with these bricks right here that’s right today we’re going to use bricks in our build that we’re going to try and make the bricks fit in And look good now this palette is not going to be the main palette of this world i have a couple pretty cool ideas with what i want to do later on in the series but today this will do but rewind what’s a palette well a palette is basically the colors Or in our case in this game the blocks that we’re going to use this right here is our block palette these are most of the blocks that i plan on using in the build today when picking out your block palette you definitely want to find blocks that are going to work well together How do you find those blocks well really think about the colors so these bricks for example there’s a little bit of gray in these bricks i think that gray will actually match pretty nicely with the cobblestone so this should work over here we have oak wood and down here We have spruce wood these are two wood types that go amazingly together it also helps the textures are identical over here we have white which actually kind of pulls out of the brick a little bit but it also doesn’t it also is just white white usually works pretty much anywhere Finally we have the spruce log and this form is going to stand out a lot that’s going to be intense this is the darkest block by far but in this form the striped version that’s going to blend in a whole lot more i think that’ll work well together Now figuring out your black palette can be a little bit tricky i highly recommend sliding into a creative world and taking a look at the inventory very conveniently inside of the creative inventory is every single block in minecraft scroll through the inventory take a look at the blocks if you already know what You’re trying to build so say a castle then you kind of have an idea as to what colors you want on the build probably at least if you’re trying to build a normal castle you’re probably going to want to look out for gray colored blocks start picking out The gray blocks and putting them into your hot bar place some of those gray blocks down and look at them what do you think about them do you think the basalt would be great on a castle or do you think stone bricks are going to be better pick some of your favorites Get rid of the ones that you don’t really want after that go back to the inventory and look for more blocks don’t feel bad about having to copy other build palettes if you like a build palette that somebody is using in a video or used on a different build Go ahead and copy it minecraft only has so many blocks after all now color is an interesting thing color is exciting but you want to be careful with it take a look at this build palette right here this in my opinion is a terrible build palette now of course beauty is in the Eye of the beholder maybe you love this build palette if that’s you good for you go for it but in my opinion this palette right here is way too colorful i mean we have purple down there then we have gray which isn’t really a problem but then we have red yellow pink Orange and then finally we have the crimson wood down here yeah that’s a lot of color when picking out a palette for your build at least a more basic one if this is your first build it’s definitely going to be a lot easier to stay away from a lot of Intense color maybe one or two colors but when you start getting too many colors the build is just gonna look a little bit crazy if you’re more of a beginner i highly recommend picking one strong color so in this bunch right here maybe we’ll use these two grays and maybe a little bit Of red we’ll get rid of all of those other colors and then boom we have this cool palette right here we could definitely make some kind of interesting castle out of these blocks we definitely would need more but this would be a decent start so build a palette pick some blocks that Look good together that you want to use on your build try and think about where you can use those blocks on your build for example cobblestone right here i’m thinking that the cobblestone will be on the roof and then oak logs or planks excuse me will Be on the walls maybe we could use these strips bruce logs right here as beams that could look good then maybe like a white accent up top a brick base and then maybe this for the roof as well basically think about where you want to see the blocks on your build Now after figuring out your palette it’s time to talk location of course you want to put your build somewhere we are going to put our build right in here i think like standing from this view a house right in there that would look so so good so our location Boom it’s done it’s settled after finding your location you need to get that location ready for building now today we’re going to do something interesting i’ve set up a 9×9 square right here this is going to be the base of our house we’re going to make the square a lot more interesting But it’s a starting point nine blocks along that way nine blocks along the other way now uh this location is good but it’s not exactly ready we have a lake right here that lake is 100 gonna be a problem now because i don’t have very much dirt Up here i do have more down on the strip mines but i don’t want to go down there but because i don’t have very much dirt right here i’m just gonna fill in the top layer of the lake and call it good we might end up adding a basement on This house and if i do that i’m gonna definitely run into some water if i run into the water obviously i’ll just pull it out but there we go this area is now a little bit more ready for our build i’ve got the vision i’ve got the pallet I’ve got the location and the location is now ready to be built on which means it’s time to build so like i said we’re gonna start with a basic nine by nine square i highly recommend that if you’re trying to make your build look interesting To not leave it as a square or a rectangle try doing something different so let’s start with this nine by nine square how could we make this more interesting well easy we could add more squares more squares good let’s go ahead and add another one right here i think this Could be an entrance and then maybe on this entrance we’ll have a double door so the doors will be right here now we have a square and another square that’s pretty cool but what if what if i told you we could add another square maybe on this side and I’m kind of just winging it here we could add let’s say like a square coming off of the middle maybe i don’t know what this could be for um yeah let’s try this out let’s try adding a random square over here now when figuring out your build just add things to it Make an outline on the ground like we did right there and then try putting shapes next to it think about it a little bit take a step back take a look at it if you like it go with it if not then change it but i actually think so Far this is this is actually okay entrance over here then we have the house and this will be like the main room it’ll be a smaller house then we have this thing over here don’t know what we could do with this but uh this corner this side is really really plain steel It’s definitely boxy what’s the least boxy thing in minecraft a circle we’re gonna definitely add a circle onto this build i think that would make it look really good so let’s see we go one two three four and then five we have the middle right there because that’s nine so let’s see Uh one two three and then we could do like a turn maybe um and then another three ah yes i think this will be a good circle size i’m not too sure but that’s okay because we’re pretty early on in the build if it doesn’t seem to Work out uh later on we can just change it so let’s dig this wall out now this is gonna go away we’re gonna have a circle on the back honestly no clue how we’re gonna make that work but we’re gonna have to try then over here we can take this out and Then over here we can take this out now if i’m being honest i really don’t have much of an idea as to what i’m going to use these extensions for quite yet but right now that’s okay all that i know is that the entrance is going to be on this side and It’s going to be right there that’s a solid start that’s all that we need i think i’m actually really happy with this shape so i think we should move on to actually the next step of building now after we make it daytime don’t build that night so we have the shape down Over there i think that shape is gonna be good if we have to change it later no biggie now let’s start working on the shell or the frame of the build that’s the next build step build step number two is all about starting to make your build actually look like a build Right now this looks like some sort of random block placement on the ground that’s not good now we’re going to want to grab blocks from our build palette and actually start putting them in where we want them in so i think i want a brick base on this build i think that Would look really really good right now i have some of my clay smelting up into bricks i should probably make another furnace though because i’m going to need a lot more bricks i’m thinking too high with bricks all the way around the outside of this build ah maybe maybe big maybe And minecraft building is all about experimentation trial and error you have to put things in and see if they look good if they don’t look good easy pull them out if they look perfect then leave them alone try adding other things and if those other things ruin it Then take those other things out building requires patience your build is probably not going to look good the first time you do it if it does well that’s kind of crazy that’s really good actually that means you’re probably a pretty good builder but if it doesn’t don’t sweat it it’s fine Trial and error and error and errors sometimes you’ll have to make a lot of mistakes until you get it right but once you get it right it feels good so i have brakes that need smelting there’s melting up over here but it’s gonna take time So i think we should move on to the next part of the build which is gonna be our logs so while i wait for the bricks to smelt up let’s talk framing what is it well framing is basically tracing the outline of your build framing is also a great way to Incorporate depth into your build depth is a huge part of every single minecraft build if you want your build to look good which you probably do the build needs to have stuff going on i mean picture this i built a flat minecraft box flat minecraft box Is flat flat minecraft box is also not interesting but flat minecraft box with some sides that pop out that’s getting spicy that’s getting a little bit better basically if you’re trying to make your minecraft build look good you want certain parts of it to pop Out and certain other parts of it to pop in so right here i’m adding a frame onto my house it’s a gigantic a very very nice this frame is definitely adding depth over here originally we had a flat brick wall now we have this frame that creates Of course you see that depth perfect it’s very important now i think i want this frame to go all the way along the bottom because down here we have brick then up here i want to have planks planks will look good up here but if i had planks go Right against the bricks it probably wouldn’t look very good i also know that i want my house to be pretty tall i think this frame is going to go this high now i think if i counted correctly this should be nine blocks i was kind of Talking while i was uh doing this but yeah i think that’s nine blocks that’s going to give our build a lot of height and make it feel pretty big pretty major and pretty strong at the same time so frame over there that’s good and then the frame is going to follow Out this way and then we’re actually going to switch it up a little bit so i want to have a front staircase on the build uh i think the staircase should probably be two blocks wide because we’re gonna have a two block wide doorway i’ll have the frame actually kind of Follow the staircase out here and go down into the ground it’s gonna look a little weird right now but once we actually get the staircase in i think it’ll all make sense and then i think under the staircase like over here we’ll do like trap doors or fences to Add a little bit more detail now uh over here we have another corner so we’re gonna want to put a frame right here i think i did it diagonally off of the side right is that what i did over here um yeah diagonally off of the side okay i think Yeah that’ll look good and then we’ll basically maybe turn it over this way and then have it go straight out uh just like on the other side right uh-huh uh-huh yep i think that’s it now today i am 100 winging the build i don’t know if this Is actually gonna work out like this i’m hoping it will because that will make my life a whole lot easier but if it looks bad we’ll just have to tear it down and change it all up but that’ll be okay now on this pop-up portion i’ve been Thinking i think i want this to be like a porch so i’m actually gonna take this outline away a little bit and actually try and make a porch in here so if we have a frame come out like that we could maybe go well we could go one or we could maybe Go two to give it a little bit more room on the porch and then this will go up and we’ll make like a separate little like roof light on this porch i think that’ll look good so then this is all frames um and then under here we’ll have It like open so we can walk here so the wall will actually continue right back in here that’ll just be a solid wall there’ll be openness under the porch i think that makes sense when building especially if you’re new to it it’s definitely best to focus on one part of The build at a time building could be exciting and it might seem like a good idea to do part of the build and then you get another cool idea and you want to jump over to that other part of the building and just do it really quick but Don’t do it take your time and give each piece of the build its own time if you feel like you’re gonna forget an idea make a sign label it on your build and come back to it later when you’re doing your framing on your build do all of your framing Then move on to the next step if you start jumping around from step to step to step things could get messy really fast and by messy i mean bad you could ruin your build accidentally now honestly i’m not 100 sure on what i’m gonna do with the framing over here So i think i’m gonna leave it there and then if i have to i can add a few blocks over there that should be fine now we’re moving over to the back side of the build now the back side of the build is definitely important but it is also the Least important side of the build i’m just not gonna really be over here from this side if you’re in a similar situation with the back of your build like you’re not gonna see it very much it is okay to slack a little bit more on the backside details But i still recommend putting at least a little bit of work into the backside especially if you’re on a server and you’re gonna have people like walking around your build looking at it critiquing it you want your whole build to look good also if you just slack out on the back Entirely it will always feel incomplete definitely a bad thing so here is the framing so far now it’s probably about time for me to go check on the bricks and swap more clay into the furnace but so far so good now this round part this is gonna be a little bit more tricky It’s difficult to do framing on these round parts if you’re trying to keep things relatively small which is exactly what i’m trying to do today here’s what i’m thinking i think on this round part we’re gonna start with our two brick base and then we’re actually gonna just Switch right over to cobblestone and mossy cobblestone in the detailing step that should maybe look okay and then we can put like a big window on it i think that’ll look good you see cobblestone and bricks they kind of blend into each other because of that middle part on the brick the mortar I think that’ll work big maybe though not too sure we might have to switch that up near the end of the build but it is also near the back of the build so it shouldn’t be the first thing that we see build life hack for you by default On java edition the middle mouse button is the grab button so let’s say i need a cobblestone fast i could look at it hit the middle mouse button and boom cobblestone in my hand bricks boom grass don’t have any in my inventory so it’s not going to work but i’m trying Same with this don’t have any in my inventory i’m trying but it’s not going to work if you have it in your inventory you can quick grab it with the middle mouse button that one is big useful when building but drum roll please because the bricks are now Done so boom good now we need to start getting the rest of the building the rest of the walls in so let’s start over here i said oak planks for the walls that’s definitely still the plan but i’m taking a look at this right here and honestly It almost feels a little too cramped do i like a seal or do i want to make it a little bit longer i’m looking at this and i think this needs to be a little bit wider so here’s the plan we’re actually going to already modify the build i think what we could Do is move the entrance bit over if we just move it over like one block this way then we’ll have a two wide window in there which will give it a lot more openness from the inside which is something that i want all right so i’ve shifted everything over One block this should probably be much better right oh right for sure that’s a whole lot more open that’s exactly what i’m going for so anyways back to the wood so on the front let’s say we have a two wide window which means along the side of the Window we can do more planks just like that next up we have this side on this side we’ll go up with planks and then do that and we’ll have a little window right there so we have like a bit of a corner window thing going on that’ll be cool Then over here we’re gonna have a bunch of cobblestone going all the way up and i also should take a break and eat now remember when i was saying depth is important well it’s also important up here we have a couple different shapes going on We could make all of the walls the same exact height that would technically work but would that be interesting no definitely not that wouldn’t be interesting so for now let’s make this round bit end right here i don’t know if we’re going to shorten it or make it taller But for now that’s a good stopping point now over to the back wall on the back wall i’m thinking pretty much the same thing as the front wall we’ll do planks and then make a gigantic window so let’s see uh we could do a three wide window That would be a big window let’s go with that for now three wide window now so far from the inside our build looks horrendous that’s fine that’s normal from the outside though the build doesn’t look too bad it definitely looks unfinished but not too bad which is a good thing today We’re caring about the outside of the build in the next episode we’ll be working on the inside over here we have an interestingly tiny area i’m thinking that we just fill this all the way in with planks right here we’re gonna have a porch which means we’re gonna need a door so We’re gonna need to leave a hole in the wall for that door we’ll go up and around just like that and then on top of that maybe we could maybe fit another small window in up here big maybe on that one though not too sure finally we have this wall Right here and then the front of the build now this wall is going to be identical to the other one we’ll have symmetry on this side of the build the side with the porch that’ll look nice then the front thing what do i want to do On the front oh that’s a tough question well we could definitely start with more planks more planks could be good so first let’s get some staircases and so we can kind of picture this a little bit better we have staircases going up just like that then in here we could do more bricks Just like that maybe right on top of the bricks we could just do planks uh well yeah yeah cause we have framing everywhere i didn’t even realize that duh of course we’re just gonna do planks like that maybe we go one more up uh the door would go like That and then we could do a roof line right there it’ll be a separate roof line which will look good then up here behind that roof we’re probably gonna need more wall so we’ll fill that in for now i don’t know if we’re gonna need all of That but with that i think we finished most of the shell of this build other than the roof and the roof oh boy the roof keeping it straight up here in minecraft roofs are tricky almost no matter what yeah they’re complex i haven’t played the game for so long And yep i still can’t do it uh well i can do it but it’s not fun the top of the build is the least favorite part of the build for me but it is still very important you can’t slack on it so uh for starters the more different roof lines the better Sometimes of course you don’t want to just put a bunch of random river blends on your build if you don’t have to but in our case we definitely need to you see you need the roof of your build to be in proportion to the rest of your Build if we put a roof from that side over to this side and had it go like diagonal up then that roof would probably end up going like all the way up to there which with this tall build it might work but it also wouldn’t look very interesting It could also end up being just way too tall which definitely isn’t a good thing because when we were setting this build up we incorporated a couple different shapes we can definitely incorporate a couple different roof lines the first one is gonna be right here over the entrance I think we’ll start with slabs on this one this will be a pretty basic roofline you’ve definitely seen this one before and probably done it too so we start with slabs then we place the staircase then we go over here place an upside down staircase another staircase and then on the front we’re Actually gonna do a staircase going uh let’s do it like this i was gonna do it the other way but we’ll go that way then over here same thing staircase uh staircase staircase and then finally staircase right there now to frame this roof i think what we’re gonna do Is we’re gonna do cobblestone staircases on the outside and then on the inside to spice it up we’re gonna do spruce staircases these through staircases will match the framing on our build and it’ll make our roof line a little bit more interesting now we definitely need to come back in Here and add some mossy uh cobblestone staircases in here that would look really good but for now this is a start at this point in the build we’re still just trying to get the shell of the build in so we can kind of see what the build is gonna look like So roof line number one check we definitely need a couple more blocks in here though so boom there we go this front piece is finished other than the front door now let’s go over to this interesting bit the a-frame part and make a really cool looking roofline Now um i don’t know what this roofline would be called i can never remember the name uh i think we want to start maybe over on this side because we have one roof right here and this other one needs to not touch it so let’s start with a slab Right there and then another slab right there that’s a pretty solid start after the slab we’ll go staircase then we’ll go back here and place another staircase now this is where things get interesting we’re going to do a solid block then we’re going to do a staircase Then we’re going to do another staircase just like that then we’re gonna do another solid block and another staircase finally staircase slab now we need to go over to the other side and get that in now where do i start uh do i start i think on um i think we start Right there i think on that layer at least that’s what we’ll try if it doesn’t line up we’ll fix it staircase right there backwards staircase block staircase another staircase right there then a block staircase finally one more and boom we line up perfect now this roof shape is an interesting One on the outside of this thing we’ll do the same thing with cobblestone stairs and then on the inside we’ll follow the roof line exactly but we’ll use spruce again so spruce right there more spruce and then yep we’ll repeat it all the way up and then more spruce on the top Now let’s get this stuff out of here and take a step back and look at the build and see what we think and i gotta cut that down that is tall um oh yes yes for sure that’s really interesting look at that shape that’s an interesting shape for sure Now the white wall is going to come in in that top bit we’ll put white wool in there to kind of cap it off that’ll look really really good so finally we have one more maybe two three more roof lens to put in these next ones are really easy That’s gonna be our most complex one we’ll start with this top roof line right here because i think this is gonna be an easy one what we’ll do is we’ll do a slab right there then we’ll jump on top of the slab and place one more going out we want our roof to Hang off of the build that’s a big one make sure your roof isn’t flat against your build that’ll look kind of weird but anyways we pop out like that and we’ll go diagonally up just like that turn the roof over this way and have the same exact thing Going downwards up here we’ll cap this off with slabs and then we’re going to need to make more slabs so i can’t really fully finish it but we’ll have slabs running over this way and this is going to be on the same layer of that roof do we like that that could be Interesting can we switch that up easily i don’t think so that could be interesting hmm let me think about that you know what i don’t think that’s actually going to be a problem i think that’s going to work out perfectly fine so i wasn’t able to finish This part of the roof quite yet i still need to cut down that tree but this is what we have now we have roof line number one roof line number two and roof line number three now these top two roof lines are actually on the exact same layer How i got around that how i made it look better is i actually just raised that up one block so now they’re not so even looking and i think that solves the problem only thing that i’m still trying to decide should this continue one more block over pretty much just Straight into that one i’m almost leaning towards yes but i’m not entirely sure because it might make this roofline look a little bit weird i’m gonna have to try that one out now i need to cut down that tree then i need to go down to the branch mine and bring Cobblestone up here because i need to finish up this build i’m gonna copy that on this side and this time that roof will go all the way across to the back over here now in this section we’re going to have an interesting roof i’m thinking maybe Like a dome or something i might just throw that in but that’s what i’m thinking for most of the build up until this part i also need to dig these few blocks out because i 100 want this to stand away from the ground i don’t want it to look like it’s Sinking in i might even pull some of that dirt back just to make it really stand out but so far this is what we have i’m gonna go ahead and get the rest of the outside work done after i get the rest of the roof in We’ll be back because there is one more big step that we need to do okay so a build’s done but a little bit of a problem we have a patrol over here and one of the patrollers or two of them i guess are like locked onto me so i’m gonna Have to get rid of these guys real quick patrols are things that will spawn in your world after you’ve been in it for a while they’ll spawn around you so long as you aren’t near any villagers and they’ll wander past you sometimes they’ll wander right past you and you Won’t even know they won’t even stop but other times they’ll be annoying and kind of lock onto you eventually the patrols will despawn i don’t know where the banner guy went it probably carried on or despawned or something like that don’t know how long this patrol has been here but The build’s done this is what it looks like right now now keep in mind that we’re early game we’re working with uh not as many blacks as ideally i would like to but with that being said i would say that this build has turned out really really well this is probably my Best starter house ever i mean take a look at it i’m like crazy crazy happy with it i’m missing one block up there now that i look at it but yeah so first off the rooflines that’s kind of where we left off here’s what i did to fix up the rooflines I decided to make that one the fancy one pop out one more block that created some depth with this one but when i popped out the fancy one it was even with this lower one so i decided to pop this one out one more block as well Now because this one is so big and fancy i decided to go with two layers of cobblestone on the front i feel like that adds a lot of structure to this roux it also keeps the spruce wood pretty minimal in there and even with the framing which i think Looks nice over here i literally just pulled this out one like i lengthened it moved the cobblestone out looks good over there now on this side of the building which i actually haven’t seen quite yet this is what we have we have two roof lines very symmetrical and then we have This low porch covering i did forget a slab in there or no no i think i put a slab in the wrong spot not that big of a deal i’ll lower that down i have a slab roof line going up here which looks pretty cool over there i forgot some planks i gotta Fix that one up too now behind the build we have a very very simple look we have this roofline going straight across some basic framing right there a giant window still and then we have this cone thing now the kona roof this is interesting the cone roof Is very tall in proportion to the rest of this tower in fact it honestly might even be almost too tall but i think it works because it’s very very minimal on the build unless you’re looking at it from this side from this side you can see how Short the tower is and then how tall the roof is but from the front you don’t really notice it as much you see looking at it from the front because that back tower is so far away and because this front roof is kind of in the way It makes sense it looks fine if you have something like a tower on your building you’re trying to put a roof on it don’t worry so much about the height worry more about the shape now the shape of this roof back there is a little complex i have a three Wide section on the flat side then i have a two wide and a two wide they’re connected by the corner right there they share the same corner above that layer i have a three wide then a one then a three which is actually the exact tower shape if this Wall were to continue straight up it would be even with the second layer on that third layer everything connects flat side of three flat side of three and then on the middle in that middle corner that you can’t see the inside one there’s a couple more blocks the second To the last layer is pretty simple and then finally the last layer is just a single block each layer is two blocks tall if you’re trying to recreate it but this is what the build looks like now i am honestly really really happy with it now finally the last part of building The final step of building on any build is the detailing stuff the detailing step is a whole lot more random than the last few steps in the detailing step you’re really just trying to make your build come to life for example right here this doorway we Need a little bit more detail in there and to get the detail in there we’ll put some doors in there now honestly i don’t know if i’m gonna stick with the oak doors in there but for now it works next up check out this big flat area in here This works but we could spice it up a little bit more detail it more by adding a tiny window above the door just like that with a couple staircases now there’s a little bit more detail and that same texture is broken up another detail that i’ve actually Already thrown in is under the roof here i actually added some staircases in here to make sure this looks good on this area i actually went with slabs to make the roof feel nice and tall this is the front door after all we want a grand feel i did that same thing Under there with the spruce staircases up there now take a look at this window it looks good but it could look better how could we make it look better well easy we could turn it into an arch in minecraft how i play arches are king check this out staircase right there Block over here and then we put another staircase right there and we don’t have anything that looks correct but if we pull those out and swap them in for spruce slabs just like this boom we have created an arch right here and if we take a step back from this window We’re gonna see that window is actually now an arched window now from the inside it’s definitely not gonna be but from the outside boom arch right there window looks sweet not gonna lie now that window could get even more spicier if we were to add some sort of planter box outside of it Dirt gravel course dirt over here boom staying in the crafting table for another second trap doors now check this out we put a coarse dirt we put a coarser then we take these trap doors and close them on those coarse dirt blocks we have just created a planter box Next up we’re going to want to pick a flower or two from the ground and go up there and put the flowers inside of that planter box which we actually can’t see from inside because i’m very short this is going to have to do for now we’ll jump up plant them like That now these flowers are definitely not going to stay they’re a little too basic a little too plain but for now boom you kind of get the vision probably going to want to pick some better flowers for that though for sure just from those few things that we’ve Done to the front of the build though it’s already starting to look better another thing that we could do involves fences if we come in here and put some fences in there we’ll get a little bit more structure to our staircase now unfortunately we’re one fence short But that’s not that big of a deal because i’m actually crazy stocked up on oakwood my oak wood counts are doing fine right now boom another fence right there that’s a little bit more detail over there now when detailing a build you want to be careful You never ever ever want to over detail your build some people like to detail a build by spamming slabs all over it i personally don’t like to do that i feel like that looks really really bad avoid placing too many blocks empty spaces are absolutely okay sometimes Really when it comes to detailing it’s all about trial and error yet again you’re going to want to place things on your build and then take a step back see how those things look if you think they add to your build leave them if you think they make your build a Little too busy or stand out too much like those fences right there then go ahead and pull them out not that big of a deal another gigantic form of detailing comes in block variations mossy cobblestone it’s one of the best looking blocks in all of minecraft i will stand by that forever Mossy cobblestone could definitely make its way into the build to spice it up a little bit more so check out this front roof line right there it’s good but it’s a little repetitive especially when we have all of those other cobblestone roof lines if we swap some of these normal cobbles On staircases out for mossy cobblestone staircases things are going to level up pretty much instantly boom check it the entryway portion of the build looks a whole lot better why mossy cobblestone fences and lanterns lanterns are amazing for detailing as well detailing is something that is both crazy easy to do but also A little bit more complex because there are so many different things that you could do to your build to detail it to spice it up to make it look a little bit better detailing is something that we will be talking about throughout this entire series we’ll be doing it on every single Build that we put in this world to make the build come to life and we’ll be doing it even more in the next episode today’s episode was all about the outside of our house the next episode will be all about the inside and the surroundings This build is looking good so far but it definitely needs more work we’ll also be coming back and detailing the outside of our build a little bit more because i have a few other things in mind that we just don’t have time for today but that’s all we have time for today Ladies it’s time for the comment of the day today’s comment of the day is this one from blue soul how does he keep a lot of things in mind while talking uh that’s a really good question so when i make a video i have some notes some Like big points that i want to make like today i wanted to talk a little bit about arches and i wanted to outline the building process that i use all of those different steps uh but i also actually end up forgetting a lot of things what i’ll actually do Sometimes is if i forget something i’ll come back in a little later on and actually edit in another piece of commentary like when i’m editing the video the big thing for me remembering things here while commentating is really notes usually i have my iphone like propped up In front of me and a few notes on it or if i don’t have that i have my notebook next to me but that’s going to do it for episode 6 of the minecraft guide there is our starter house or at least the star 2 our starter house there was definitely a Lot of information in this episode and a lot of moves and there will be in the next episode but my biggest tip is definitely practice just keep at it and eventually you’ll get it today big shout out to my patrons skelly wampus robbie mcfly and badandi 925 thank you all so much for The support drop a like subscribe and i’ll see you in the next episode with the final touches for our starter house good bye everyone You Video Information
