I’m going to show you how to make this mushroom house but not only that i’ve got seven other mushroom house designs in different styles to inspire you even further and there’s a link to the world download in the description so you can tour the mushroom houses up close But before we get into the video don’t forget to hit the subscribe button and if you want to see more videos like this please drop a comment below to build my little mushroom house i used white concrete for the base which is made up of sand gravel and white dye You can use other blocks for yours if you like but i really like the really clean smooth texture of the concrete and it’s a pretty easy block to acquire now when it comes to making the base you’ve got two options make it symmetrical or embrace the chaos I’ve chosen the ladder and started by marking out a roughly circular shape but to be honest i didn’t really plan out any of it i just made sure not to make any parts of the walls too straight and as i got up a little bit higher I reduced the width now the best thing about building in this way is that you can chop and change it whenever you need to especially when decorating the inside so if you want to push out part of the wall to fit in an extra chest then you can easily do that without Ruining the whole design if you’re struggling with building like this the best advice that i can give is just to be really random with the blocks and try not to worry about how wonky it’s looking because you can always adapt it once you’ve completed the whole build and if it’s Really really wonky well it’ll just add to the character while building symmetrically can be quite satisfying and somewhat easier i kind of prefer the chaotic evil alignment and i think it produces a much more unique mushroom house in the end one word of warning though if you’re Building this in survival make sure you light the area up learn from my mistakes we’ll rebuild [Laughter] we can rebuild wait oh [Laughter] so with that out of the way i set about rebuilding the whole front again before moving on to the top Now doing the top i made a bit of a mess of it i started by using the mushroom blocks because i wanted to use the fleshy side of them as the underside and to get that fleshy side you need to put two of the mushroom blocks together And then break one and that will reveal the fleshy side of course if you want to get rid of the fleshy color completely you’re going to have to just replace the entire block so i started by just building out on either side as far as i wanted it to be You might want to take a little bit of a step back just to see how big you actually want the top to be and then i decided to put a few more mushrooms just on the side just to add a little bit more character to it So you can see here i’m placing mushroom blocks on the underside and then removing them and it reveals that fleshy color i’m also adding birch wood planks now i normally wouldn’t build in that wood because it’s birch wood it’s almost as bad as acacia but I figured it was a really good color to use on the underside so i do eventually go back and replace the entire underside with birch planks and i put them in as slabs at different heights just to give it a little bit of texture and i think that even though it is Birchwood the result actually comes out pretty good but it’s up to you what blocks you want to use i just decided to go with the wood the floor on the inside at the top is going to be a little bit raised above the um the underside just because it was so Wonky but that was easy enough and i decided to use spruce wood and dark oak logs in a checkerboard pattern which i think turned out pretty good i’m pretty happy with how that looks you can of course put in any floor you like you could even use mushroom blocks as the floor It’s really up to you how you want to do it and then on the side i decided to put in a window just to give it a little bit of a cottage feel you could certainly add more than just one window but i just decided to have just the one The mushroom cap at the top is made with the red and white mushroom blocks which you can only obtain from fully grown mushrooms using silk touch enchantment and i think the axe is the best tool for this but i only have silk touch on my pickaxe which is why i was using that And you can also cut down the stalks in the same way and to make your mushroom house look more authentically like a mushroom you can use them to build up the base as well if you want you’ll just need to farm a lot of mushrooms and if you don’t want To use mushrooms at all then you could use red concrete or wool as a great alternative now since the base of the mushroom isn’t symmetrical then the domed cap obviously isn’t going to be either to build this up you just need to take a step back every now and again to make Sure that you’re building it up in roughly a rounded shape but again if it’s a little wonky it just adds to the character even though the mushroom blocks have white spots on them i decided to use some white glass blocks to make some larger spots And i really love how they also serve as windows i added in the wooden window frames to give it a bit of a cottage feel as well as a little welcome archway at the entrance with the bridge over the little pond and i use dark oak planks and stairs for This obviously this step is optional but i think it looks really super cute At first i put a ladder to move between the floors but i do later change that to a bubble column if you want to do this as well you might need to adjust the walls of your mushroom house in order to put that in but that’s where the chaotic build Method comes in handy because you can change it around to fit without worrying about messing up the symmetry And to decorate the inside it was fairly simple i decided to put my bed at the base just so it’s easiest to get to as well as a couple of chests with some of the most useful items in it and then i put some paintings on the Walls and just decorated it a little bit with some pots and plants for the second floor i decided this was going to be my storage room so i kept it really simple and just filled it with chests i also had someone come visit me so he’s now trapped in a boat I do need a name for him so if you’ve got any suggestions please drop a comment below and on the top floor i decided to put my enchantment set up up here and i’m going to put more plants and flowers up here just to make it a little bit more Natural feeling i think i’ll also put in a potion brewing stand but this bit obviously isn’t finished so make sure to follow my twitter and i’ll probably post updates on how the mushroom looks at the top here at the back of my mushroom i decided to build another one This one was going to be much smaller and i decided to use the brown mushroom sense of the roof just to give it a little bit of a change and inside it is my cow crusher this is where i farm food for myself and outside i’ve Also got a little crop farm so that i can feed the cows Yes Moving on to the creative world now i’m going to show you the seven mushroom houses that i’ve designed in different styles that you can come and have a look at yourself the link to the world download is in the description as well as some other information Now i’m not going to go through all of the details of how these were created because i did do them on live stream but i will link those live streams below so if you want you can see me create them in real time and if you decide to build some mushroom houses yourself Please tag me on social media i would love to see what you come up with so if you like this video please give me a thumbs up and consider subscribing so that i can continue to make videos like these Music by Epidemic Sound #mushroomhouses #minecraft #tutorial This is a Minecraft build tutorial, not a challenge video or lets play. I show you how to build a mushroom house like Captain Puffy from the Dream SMP, the one that Ponk destroyed just like the Community House was destroyed on the Dream SMP in Minecraft. If you like Captain Puffys mushroom house you will like this, I show you how to build a mushroom house with a world download of lots of other mushroom house builds.
