Okay everybody welcome back to learn with Minecraft education and today we’re jumping straight in to a world that I’ve created so that we can look at short boards and more specifically how we can use them to guide students around worlds that we’ve created or ask them to guide Us around worlds that they’ve created now believe it or not there’s no actual item go to inventory no actual item in Minecraft no such item as a chalk board so if we want to put chalk boards Up we need slates which will be the smallest ones posters we our poster and then the largest one for the biggest containing lots of information is a board there we are but we kind of using the catch-all term chalkboards for these because that’s kind of what they look like right let’s Escape from our inventory and head over to a non-player character our NPC over here and you can create NPCs in your world who talked about it in a previous video I’m so you feel free to Go back and take a look at that but for now let’s just have a chat with this one and see what this one’s got to say so this one’s called tour guide it says welcome to the maze to find your way to The exit follow the instructions on the chalkboard and what I’ve done here from our students is I’ve placed down a big chalkboard that explains what to do in the maze “welcome to the maze of doom to get Off the maze you will need to know the answers to some maths questions at each shortboard read the math statement if the statement is true turn left if the statement is false turn right if you know your stuff you might escape with your life” a little bit dramatic but it serves its purpose And this was created using a board so if I want a crate a board like this like what’s selected in the third inventory slot I can place that down type something inside and there it is and it’s There we can make it lockable so that people can’t edit it and change it but this is the one that we want to keep so we’ll leave that one there now as we move forward from here on in I’ve used Slates because they’re a little bit smaller I don’t take up lots of space in our maze so as you can see the first Junction we’ve got to got 10 plus 13 which is false so we’re going to go to the Right 14 1 16 correct turn to the left and the chalkboards are just really helpful for guiding students around your lesson so obviously doesn’t have to be maths it can be any kind of question It can be any subject that you like and it could just be a lesson where the weather students create a maze for a different class maybe you’ve got some older students and it creates a maze some Cross-curricular maze for some of the young students 3 times 5 is 9 no so let’s turn to the right very simple maze make away to the end and then finally we’ve used a poster at the end Well done you proved yourself worthy okay so we’ve made it to the end of the maze now little short lesson there on how to use chalkboards slates posters and boards just have it over to inventory Search those up and edit them and I knew you’ll go a lot further in creating those really interesting worlds for your students to explore okay more videos coming soon and thanks for tuning in you you Video Information
