How To Make Great Trees Using Axiom! | New Insane Minecraft Mod!

Hello and welcome back today I’m going to be showing you how to take your trees that look like this and turning them into trees that look like this this one just looks a little Blobby and kind of like a fungus it’s not very tree-like and this one looks a lot like

A tree almost like a bonsai tree I think it looks super cool could work in kind of fantasy worlds or other things like that and I’m going to be showing you how to build them like this using Axiom it’s a new mod that was recently released and

It’s a lot like world edit where you can build stuff using different commands and shapes but this one actually is more like blender where there’s an editor mode and you can make whatever you want so to start off making a tree that looks like this instead of like the one back here

We’re going to begin with the freehand draw tool and we want to use a really small radius like two and this will give us the more of slim bass here to go off of instead of the thick one because the main problem with trees when I build them is

The stem is just way too thick and it just doesn’t work right with the rest of the build so we’re going to start using a basic two size and we’re going to build up a simple base of a tree and I’m going to build another bonsai tree here now that

We have the basic shape of our tree that looks a lot like this one over here just with a couple nice zigzags we can use the smooth tool to smooth out the shape a little bit it’s important that you don’t hit the bottom of the tree with

The smooth tool because that will slim out the bottom of the tree and leave the rest of it thick and then it’ll look all kinds of weird so you want to do that separately from the rest of it with that all smoothed out we can start adding branches using once again the freehand

Draw tool but this time we’re going to use a radius of one and that’s important because we want the branches to be smaller on the tree just like they are over here than a main branch because if you have them the same size it just looks funky kind of like how this one

Ended up and these ones are slightly smaller but they’re still way too big so this is about half the size as the original stem and we’re going to start here at the top and work our way down so at the top here we want to split it off into three

Different sections so that it kind of looks like it’s branching off instead of just being one solid piece and you can do more than three or two I just prefer to do three and now we can just go all the way down adding branches and it’s really important to add a lot

Of branches because this one over here the bad one has only a few branches and it just looks kind of bland and like it doesn’t have enough shape whereas this one has all kinds of branches and it looks really full and it looks like it has an actual tree shape

So we’re going to add in a lot of them and the branches are very simple to add you just kind of build them off of the shape of the tree going in diagonals upward or in straight lines to the side but you don’t really want to go down the

Cherry tree because cherry tree branches don’t usually go down one more thing to note with the branches is you want them to be varying an angle and in size and it doesn’t matter exactly the shape of them yet because we’re just going to smooth these out once we make them all

And so like this one goes at a very steep angle and this one’s at a very shallow angle so we kind of want to vary it up like that so that the tree looks more natural I finished adding all those branches and I think that this is really

Coming together as a tree shape you can see all the different branches and this one actually has more than the last one because I think I could improve on it a little bit more from here to this one so I added a few more and now that we have

All those in place we’re just going to smooth them all out again with the smooth tool and this time instead of using a smoothness of two which is what it’s originally set to we’re going to use a smoothness of 1.5 and this will just cut away a lot less of the blocks

Because the smooth tool can end up cutting away quite a few blocks if you have the strength too high and we’re just going to hit every single one of the branches with this really quick and it should kind of form them to make the bases of them stronger and mesh into the

Tree a little bit better while also shaping the rest of the branch so that it looks more natural and less like a blob that’s just coming out of the tree you can see especially on this one how it brought the tree out to the branch so

It kind of flows into it like that and it doesn’t just stick off of it like it’s just not supposed to be part of the same build so I really like that with the smooth tool I didn’t know I would do that until I was trying this out and it

Works really nice for that now we can start to make this look like an actual tree instead of just a stone blob to do that you use the magic select tool and you select the entire tree that you have and it’s pretty simple because it’s all

Stone at this point so we can just select it click operations replace and go from Stone to Cherry Wood and we want to use the cherry wood that’s covered on all the sides not just the logs because we don’t want any of that other color showing

And here we go we got a tree shape made out of cherry wood and to deselect everything you just press enter it’s pretty simple nice little command now we can move on to adding the leaves which are just as simple as the stem there’s not much to them it’s just the rock tool

This time instead of the freehand draw tool and The Rock tool is slightly different from the freehand draw tool in that it doesn’t actually replace the blocks that you’re going over it just goes around them and again we want to use a really small radius because we’re

Not trying to make huge things right all at once we’re trying to build this off of each other so that it looks organic and we’re going to do this by simply dragging it across the area we’re trying to add to and The Rock tool actually just adds blocks it doesn’t make that

Whole blob right away so it’s really good for making these organic shapes and we want these leaves to be generally flat so I’m just going to build Off The Leaf like this going around and set up up and down one thing that really annoys me this mod is how it makes these

Pillars sometimes and then you just gotta undo what you did and redo it and I don’t really have a fix for that I wish I did but I hope they’ll fix it in the code sometime now that we have our first leaf made we can once again just

Use the smooth tool on it to give it a little bit flatter shape like that and what we’re actually going to do now is a little different we’re going to select the whole thing and copy it and now we’re going to repaste it on every single one of the

Leaves and to repaste it and press Ctrl and then space to hold you in place and press Ctrl V so it places it roughly where you want it otherwise you’ll place it on the ground and you’ll have to bring it all the way up which is less

Than ideal and while we’re pasting all these we want to do keep existing so that it does not remove any of the stem and then we can rotate it or do whatever as we see fit and I think that this looks pretty good right here I’m going to rotate it around a little

Bit but I think right there is pretty good so I’m going to paste that in by pressing enter and now I’m just going to add this Leaf to the rest of the tree we are getting closer to having a full tree that looks really nice but now all of

These leaves look exactly the same and that’s not what we want because then it doesn’t look organic at all it looks like I copy and pasted a whole bunch of times which is what I did but we don’t want it to look like that so now we’re

Going to take this smooth tool again which I know very repetitive but it’s a really nice tool so we’re gonna just smooth out all of the different leaves and this will give them all different shapes because it doesn’t smooth any of them out exactly the same and it should

Make them look really nice which is exactly what we want and you may want to hit a couple of them a couple different times just to really make it a different shape you want them to be connected with the other leaves around them because a normal tree kind

Of like bulks up in certain areas and it should look really nice once it’s smooth out all these now that all those are smoothed out there’s one last step to make them a little more leafy and that’s take the roughing tool which I know makes no sense after just using the

Smooth tool but the roughing tool will just give them all kinds of texture that makes them really look like leaves so if we could just hit as many of those as we can and really roughen them up and it’s okay if you hit the stem a little bit it

Just makes it look a little thorny but this really adds some nice texture to the leaves the tree is now real leafy really disorganized which is what we want because nature is not very organized and now we want to select all of the leaves with the magic select tool

So we just select them all and these are mostly in groups but there are a couple that I have to make sure I get now I have all of them so I can replace them with cherry leaves and just like that the tree’s done we

Have a full tree made out of cherry wood and Cherry leaves and I think this one looks even better than the last one it looks a lot more leafy a lot more full and I really like that and one thing I didn’t realize while I was first practicing with trees is that

Leaves should be flat I really thought that they should be bushy and very large but they just look so much better when they’re flat so now we have three different trees I really hope that this taught you a little bit about how to make trees in Minecraft and also how to
