[Applause] Hello everybody welcome to another snapshot video today we got the long-awaited version 19 w11a which completely changes the villager and village system bad news first at the moment it seems like that pretty much every villager-based contraption machine or farm you built in an earlier version will be broken because the System change is just massive everything pretty much changed the most groundbreaking change is that the concept of a village doesn’t exist anymore so no longer will doors be necessary to create a village since there is just no village at all anymore so no village center and also villagers won’t try to perform Towards villages this all doesn’t exist anymore everything is now based around the villager itself the villager also has now a day night cycle so at night they would go to sleep they would go to their bed in the morning they would go to their workstation and in the evening they would gather Around meeting points so usually a bell the villager profession is also no longer randomly selected at birth so we got a free job market now we got unemployed villagers for default texture which pick their profession based on workplaces so we got 13 different professions then we also got the nitwits And the unemployed villagers in total 15 villager types and yeah they picked their profession based on those work places uh we can quickly go through the list uh a fisherman has a workplace a barrel the shepherd has a loom fletcher fletching table the cleric a brewing stand the butcher has a smoker furnace As this workstation the laser worker a cauldron weaponsmith grindstone the armorer a blast furnace tool smith the smithing table librarian electan cartographer cartography table the mason which is a new villager type the stone cutter and the farmer the composter so i’m going to put in 13 villager now And you will see at a peak profession you can see it doesn’t take long i think this also works up to a certain distance where they would track their working stations and go towards them so i’m gonna put in how many do you have now seven more Seven okay and now then depending on the time of day they would gather around the workplaces or in the evening around the bell where they would spread gossip and at night you go to bed that’s why we have the beds here so right now you could see the villagers Working or should i say walk around aimlessly at their workstations okay this goes on until it’s evening so i’m gonna set the time to 9000 and then they would gather around the bell and share gossip which is really important for the iron golem spawning so i’m trekking this farmer village right now and As you can see here they have now spread some gossip so they spread golem gossip also if a player trades with them they also uh talk about that and this is yeah the important entry so they would spread gossip with each other and you can also see with whom they spread the gossip It is a bit complicated now we got two golem gossips so one villager talked to other villagers and we also get a certain value in total in order to spawn a golem a villager needs to talk with 10 other villagers so we need 10 of those golem gossip entries And then like before there’s a chance every tick is simply like a one in seven thousand chance that they would try to spawn a golem and all the villagers involved in spawning that golem would have their golem gossip value reduced by 100. the villagers also check if the ori is An existing iron golem so a pack of 10 villagers has a golem buddy which is called and yes it means now we have 15 villages means we can have one iron golem with 20 we could have two etc let’s also check if the yeah the villager we were tracking now has uh four Gossip entries so basically if you try to build an iron form you need to build up gossip before you can have the first iron golem spawning okay now it’s also getting nighttime and at that point the villagers would go to bed this is a bit bugged out You can see nobody’s really sleeping in a bed technically you can push them in at least some of them i think this this part is just not working properly right now okay now we pushed one in uh there we got a few sleeping villagers the others also supposed to sleep but i Think this just backed out at the moment doesn’t work properly yet okay it’s also a bit weird you can push them out while they’re in a bed uh for example if you get a fishing rod you can fish them out which is quite funny yeah then he would also fall down So this part is still a bit weird okay now we killed one then should have one work place freed up again so in the morning the villagers would get up again to stay around the sleeping side a little bit and i think at 1500 or 2000 they would go to work There we go not time two thousand to go back to the workplaces again and it’s pretty much all the day night cycle so they basically uh rotate between those three points of interest now let’s take a look at the trade system so the trade system is quite Dynamic now there will be a supply and demand mechanic also reputation will be important among those villagers so it also seems like the default trade also has the same value so here we got farmer uh the default value of to sell carrots by carrots would be 22. Uh but this got lowered down to 13 now this could be because i got a good reputation among villagers or supply or demand mechanic i think there’s another trader which i traded with earlier [Applause] yeah this one here already sold him a lot of carrots And now i would need to sell him 26 carats to get one emerald so it seems like the demand is really low on carrots with this one here well if the other one could yeah easily trade now okay then as you already saw there is a bar At the top you need to level the villages up in order to unlock new trades now on servers currently the trading system is broken so i could keep trading with them so for example i can see buy a lot of bread at once i think there’s a ton of xp so You can easily level them up on the server okay let’s do that now he’s a journeyman it’s by brett again and we could just keep doing this can i also get the particles around the villager indicates the level up now is an expert now we can buy cookies sell melons Buy suspicious two two types even let’s actually do that see if you get something good i’ll buy a bunch so it’s just too fast i am in creative mode the car needed help it’s probably a random uh suspicious stew and now it’s completely level up to a master level There’s actually something new you couldn’t get that before now i can buy a glistering melon from them and even golden carrots now let’s also see what that suspicious stew does um nothing right now seems like it’s broken you can already get a full list of the trades the villagers offer on the Minecraft wiki but let’s maybe go through the most interesting ones there’s also a new addition the cartographer is now able to sell you a globe pattern this was added to the game and this is apparently used for banners so let’s try this out i got a loom here let’s put in a banner Kind of a die and the globe pattern yeah as you can see this is supposed to be the earth in a cubic shape let’s put it down here yeah really nice there’s another interesting trait from the armorer weaponsmither toolsmith you can buy the bell which is important if You want to start your own village uh trading setup for me across right now 32 emeralds and interestingly from the armorer you can also buy all types of diamond gear again this wasn’t possible microsoft version 1 8 to 1.13 previously in one seven and before you were able to buy All the different types of diving gear and now again you’re able to do so and see if you can buy enchanted diamond leggings boots helmets and like before you can buy a chest plate also you see this diamond ribbon here this also indicates that this villager is a master armorer There we got an apprentice one i think he only has an iron ribbon here from a journeyman or higher toolsmith you can also now buy a diamond toe which wasn’t possible before and from an expert or higher you can also buy a diamond shovel now and as before you can buy a diamond Pickaxe and also a diamond x which is enchanted already okay then there’s another mechanic if you punch the villagers their trades will go up so he’s not mad at me previously it cost i had to give him four iron ingots and now you need to uh yeah alright give him six for one Emerald if i punch him again probably go up even further now you need eight already so you need to be careful that you don’t punch your villagers you want to trade with let’s also check out the new mason trades because a lot of materials just became renewable So you can sell clay but more interestingly you can buy bricks previously this was a non-renewable material now you can just buy it then you can sell stone buy stone bricks cell endocyte by polished thyroid you can even sell quartz so which i definitely don’t recommend uh and you can also buy Terracotta or glazed terracotta of course it’s a bit random from this one i can buy the green terracotta so probably to get more masons to cover every terracotta type in the end and also interestingly now you can buy quartz pillars which you can use to make quartz stairs and also quartz slabs later All of those changes to the villager trading system will also affect how your trading hall will look like in the end you probably will have more villages because of the limited supply and demand and instead of picking the best trade to get emeralds you probably want to sell a whole bunch of Items to the villagers for example if you look at the butcher you can no longer focus for example not only selling raw chicken you definitely want to sell raw chicken mutton dried kelp and sweet berry bush this definitely gives an incentive to build lots of different farms just to get as many Emeralds as possible per day there’s another feature i almost forgot to mention depending on the item you’re holding the villager will indicate the items you can trade for those items so right now the librarian is holding either a lantern chartered book or a compass or name tag it’s all the traits That i unlocked already if you would hold for example a paper indicates that he wants to trade that with an emerald so next topic iron forms one thing is for sure all the existing iron forms and ironform concepts will no longer work and they will probably be replaced by Putting a ton of villages in a one by one hole next to a bell so what happens now in the evening the villagers would spread their gossip once the gossip bliss has 10 entries there’s a chance that the iron golem would spawn like before in a 16 by 6 by 16 Yeah square around the villager so it’s no longer centered on a villager center or something like that it’s the village itself it’s the center point and then you just need to yeah get rid of the golems somehow you could either use water streams here we use a zombie in order to direct The iron golem into the drop shoot here as before the golem is killed by lava and items could be picked up here so there will be no more villager or village chaining to make super fast iron farms all probably depends now on the amount of villagers you put in a hole so Also those villagers don’t need to be employed they don’t need a bed they just need to get around the bell in the evening and spread gossip that’s it now if we’ve already done some testing what’s the ideal amount of villages uh in that cell currently we have 300 in there So if done some testing with 20 and 120 instead um we’re not quite sure what’s the ideal amount of villagers yet definitely 300 is a bit much service already lagging it seemed like what we can tell so far that having about 100 villagers in nacelle is quite good Uh in order to not get entity training of course we put some vines in there in order to prevent that what i’m not quite sure right now is the gossip system and especially those value entries so right now we’ve got a lot of entries of this Villager that has a minus 100. i’ve also already seen villagers with entries of minus 500 um i’m not sure if there’s maybe a mechanic that at some point the villager will no longer be able to spawn golems because of the entries on the negatives um so That’s what i’m not quite sure right now we’ll have to see about that but yeah so far i can definitely say the new iron forms are not really that interesting so compared with the old mechanics before especially with the complex village chaining which was definitely a lot more interesting the New ira firms are actually quite boring what seems to be broken right now is villager breeding so like before i gave the villagers carrots which they share between each other we get the love particles but i’ve never seen a baby villager so far so we’ve been waiting hours upon hours but it just Doesn’t happen um i’m also not quite sure if you need to provide additional beds you also tried that we also tried to provide additional workstations so that also doesn’t seem to be a factor for the villager breeding but seems like currently it’s just broken what’s also now possible is that you Would have hermit villagers that live on their own in a single house since they’re no longer bound to the village structure so now they would cycle between a workstation and a bed and maybe a meeting place but unfortunately it seems like no longer is working as villager harvesting crops So instead of doing that they just walk around their workplace i actually had to cover up those composters because they have a tendency to jump into the composters and stay in there um yeah so it seems like all the crop farms might no longer be working Because as you can see crops are ignored so my personal opinion to sum it up is that i’m a bit disappointed with the new villager system i was hoping the villages would become more lively exactly that for example at farmer village system where they would farm crops would Be spawned into other professions as well for example fishermen goes to for example a river and starts fishing the butcher would kill animals and become just more interactive right now what’s happening is that the villager will just cycle between points of interest and that’s pretty much it so you can’t Even tell much of difference between the old villages and the new ones because you only see is villagers wandering around yeah aimlessly pretty much now let’s also cover the rest of the snapshot so the smithing and the fletching table got a crafting recipe currently they don’t have any function So you can get the smithing table by having four planks into iron ingots like this and similarly you can get the the flashing table just by having to flint on top and as you can see right now you don’t have any functionality if you right click them but mulching said they’re gonna add Functionality later it’s probably going to be in 1 15 or later then we also got another change that i’m really excited about because i covered this topic on my channel a few weeks ago blocks blown up by tnt and tnt minecarts will now have a 100 drop chance so let’s check this out I’m gonna blow up the torch and a lot of sand around it so usually torch would be gone as you can see it dropped and additionally a lot of scent maybe let’s pick it up previously you could maybe hope for 15 or 20 cents and now we got almost 100 For one single piece of tnt this change is actually quite important not only for the technical players also for the casual players because tnt finally became a viable option for mining of course technical players are also really happy because tnt based blast chambers which you could Feed the output of your tree from a cobblestone farm into basically now an intended feature because we no longer need to rely on a bug in order to break our blocks all right next let’s go underground i just want to see yeah if it makes sense to use tnt in order For example to get iron or diamonds what i also need to know about tnt is that explosions would still destroy items even if the explosion happens in the same tick so if i ignite both those tnt blocks at the same time we won’t find the resin torch because it got blown up So viable strategy would be at using single explosions so you could do it like that an explosion here then the next one there always keep them yeah distance between the team blocks tnt spamming definitely won’t be a viable way to go mining but as you can see this is definitely a Ton of blocks you can get and maybe we could also make a flying machine based contraption in order to propel the tt forward so some kind of a tunnel bore this might actually be a viable way to get diamonds now then we also have a lot of bug fixes in This version so a lot of those fixes were focusing on death animation bugs for example you could do items as i’ve shown last week by killing a zombie in the same moment as it converts into a drowned mob then he would drop the items initially then your ground move would hold those items And yeah all of those bugs got fixed that also means you can no longer dupe items by using the end portal method and for example previously you were able to kill a sheep and then shear the death animation all of those bugs got now properly fixed We still need to do some testing but this change also might mean that some mob forms could be made faster because previously the death animation which existed for one tick after the mob was killed also counted towards the mob cap so mod forms that were limited by the Mob cap could become faster now if the death animation doesn’t count towards mob cap we still need to do some investigating if that’s actually the case and there’s another bug fix i’m really happy about the dark loot tables got finally fixed so if your dogs would now kill a wizard skeleton there Is a chance again that the wizard skeleton drops the skull and then we have another bug fix that might be interesting for a melon pumpkin farm melons and pumpkins are now able to grow underblocks which wasn’t yeah possible before and develop’s got a mel knot seats can also be placed against other Blocks this wasn’t possible before so you cannot aim at a seat blocker placed previously and place the next one this also works for example for nestle what now so this could mean we could make more efficient afk in other word forms scaffolding also got fixed again so You’re now able to bridge out again and the blocks would also drop down in the end the wandering trader and the trader yama will also no longer spawn when the game rule 2 morph spawning is set to false so those were in my opinion the most interesting gameplay features and bug Fixes in the snapshot version can also find the full
