The crafter is a new utility block that is sure to change Minecraft forever since the beginning of Minecraft players like myself have been wanting a block in the game that will allow you to automate crafting and this block is Mojang’s answer to it meet the crafter you can Manually Place stuff in here like a crafting table and then power it with redstone in order for it to craft the item but of course that’s no fun because well you might as well just use a crafting table for it the way that this block differs from a crafting table is You’re able to load this thing in power or threadstone in order to make it craft the item that you want and the best of my knowledge this is able to craft everything that a crafting table can so if you’re wanting to craft some TNT then you could just place in your gunpowder Like so and place in your sand like so and then as soon as you power this you would get an item output of TNT although you would get the same output number as a crafting table so for example if you put iron ingot in here then you would Get nine nuggets out every single time that you powered this given that you have enough materials in order to make those nuggets this new block can either be filled with droppers or Hoppers and it can be filled from all six sides which include the top bottom and all of The four cardinal directions and yes that does also include the side that it actually dispenses the item out of now whether or not that’s a bug or a feature is yet to be seen but with it filling inside of the same side that it ejects the items it does have a practical use Because you can have items going into it like so and then have an item filter underneath it that way the item filter will only pull out the crafted item so for example a item filter for TNT underneath it gunpowder going in since the gunpowder does not fit the filter it Will not pull down through and the gunpowder will then go to the crafter once the crafter has crafted the TNT it would shoot it into this Hopper as long as there was an open spot for it which would then allow it to be pulled out of the hopper by a sorting system down Below now although this thing can be filled from all six sides keep in mind with a hopper you can only fill it from five sides because Hoppers will not flow up they will only flow sideways or down which means if you plan on filling this from the bottom you’re going to need a Dropper while we’re on the topic of this thing being filled this is going to feel like any other container in Minecraft working left to right and then once it’s done working left to right then it’s going to go down a column and go left to right again however this does have a Different characteristic as to where most containers would fill this slot all the way full until it is at Max stack size and then it would go to this and fill this one until it was at Max stack size so for gunpowder that’d be 64 it’s very important to know that this will Not fill like that the way that they have programmed this crafter to fill is it will fill one here one here one here one here one here one here one here one here one here and I think a good demonstration of that would be throwing in some Gunpowder in this Hopper Allowing it to fill and as you can see it’s going 1 2 3 and then 1 2 3 1 2 3 and basically making all of the stacks even now what were to happen if I were to take a Half Stack and place in the center here as you can see whenever it Fills it’s going to skip that stack until it gets up to 36 on all of them so it will fill the lowest stack first and then try to equalize everything inside of the crafter and then if we add some more gunpowder and we take this out then We’re just going to have it filling up inside of there until it’s all even and then it’s going to start equalizing and filling it all evenly so just remember it’s going to fill like any other container in Minecraft working left to right and then top to bottom now what Happens if you want to craft a specific shaped recipe instead of something that does not require a shape for example we’ll make a sword so we’re going to click these and this is going to enable only these slots to be filled and then it’s going to fill from this one and Then this one and then this one so in order to properly craft a diamond sword you would need to insert a diamond in here another diamond and then a stick in that order that way it would flow a diamond a diamond and a stick same goes For if you had a recipe here and it was a shaped recipe you would want to feed them in inside of the correct order so this would be item one item two item three item four item five and then if we do this and block off the rest of these It would be item one item two item three while dealing with the crafter just like a crafting table it’s really important to put the correct recipes in the correct spot in order to craft the shaped recipe now you’re probably wondering how the Crafter is crafted you’re going to need a crafting table a Dropper two bits of redstone and five pieces of iron which is pretty cheap and should make this readily available and you might be wondering if this block is so great why do we need the crafting table anymore and that’s where they get you although the crafter is set up like A crafting table if you try to actually pull items out of the output slot of this crafter you’re not able to and it has to be done by Redstone whereas if you did the same recipe over here inside of the crafting table like so then we Can pull all of these out whenever we’re crafting them I guess technically you could walk around with this and a lever but it will still be more inconvenient than just carrying a crafting table which is I think what Mojang intended that way the crafting table does not Become Nolan void now because I am currently on a Java snapshot this is a tile entity and tile entities on Java cannot be moved however I’m sure whenever they add this to bedrock Edition it will most likely be movable unless they decide to do some weird Parody stuff with it I guess we’ll just have to wait and see another really cool thing about this block is you can literally place this thing any direction that you want which is a function that I wish a bunch of other blocks had in Minecraft even on this one if you wanted To build up a little bit and then face it down like so you can have the output facing down or you can even have the output facing up if you wish which is really cool that allows this to be a lot more versatile and I’m sure that these Will be used for different decorations as well such as walls and then there is also a cool texture on the top that would probably make a good wall or a good floor going over how this thing works we can untick all of our slots here and we can do a shaped recipe so TNT would be a good shaped recipe that a lot of people’s probably going to want to craft and as you can see since we have the stuff inside of there we can power that and it’s going to shoot out TNT which is wonderful however if we have something like a shapeless recipe Like a rocket or a power three rocket in this example then we can power this and get a rocket however as you can see it doesn’t matter how you organize all of this so if we power that we still get a rocket however if we were to put our Ingredients for the TNT in wrong just like a crafting table is not going to allow us to craft that so if we went around and turned that around like so you can see we get our TNT again and now it’s craftable now on the technical side something that’s really cool about the Crafter is whenever one of these slots are filled with a single item or more it’s going to Output a redstone signal so if we take one piece of paper and put in there we’re going to get one signal strength out and then if we place another one here we’re going to get Another signal strength out and then if you increase those Stacks it’s not going to change your signal strength at all because it only cares if there is a item inside of each specific spot so essentially one of these will be one signal strength each and it doesn’t Matter if there’s one item or 64 items in here each spot is only going to give out a maximum of one signal strength each which means this entire thing will put out a Max signal strength of nine if it’s totally filled and if you are wondering clicking on these in order to Filter out the items are going to count as that slot being filled so as you can see I have one item and two fold spots so that’s going to give us a signal strength of three now this block can either be soft powered or hard powered right now we are hard powering this Block which should soft power this dropper allowing it to fill this up so if we go ahead and hit this lever as you can see it’s going to start picking that and if we look in here you can see some of this is out and it has successfully Hard powered the block soft powering the dropper and filling it up so if you want to see what that looks like we can turn that on and as you can see it’s filling very quickly now on the topic of it filling very quickly you might notice on That dropper if you are ticking it very fast there is no cool down that I see on this thing and it FS very very quickly pretty much filling at the speed of whatever you’re ticking The Dropper at however if you are using Hoppers it is going to limit the speed to Hopper speed Which is 2 and 1/2 items per second so if we go ahead and fill this up as you can see we get the single Hopper speed in something that’s cool about the crafter is it can spit directly into a container such as a chest but not just Spit directly into a container it spits into the Container instantly so as you can see we have some ingots here which are going to break down nine iron nuggets there is nothing inside of the chest if we flick that very quickly and look in that chest we instantly have Nine inside of there no waiting around which means if we take this very very quickly then we have a whole lot more inside of this container and there is no waiting around for it so I think that just about covers everything that you need to know about the crafter again if You have any questions or comments drop them down inside of the comment section below and if you’re enjoying this video drop a like it helps out the channel thanks so in typical RS built fashion I’ve already been on here and tinkering and already designed a automatic crafting system that is small and Compact and will pretty much craft every single item that a crafter or crafting table can craft and as you can see it’s very very small and it’s only three blocks wide and a couple blocks tall and it probably doesn’t even need a tutorial for it as you can see there’s really no Blocks hidden we just have a comparator here facing this direction got some Redstone a repeater down there on a forti delay facing into a block underneath that crafter powering it and then underneath this block here we have a comparator facing this way so underneath both of these sticking up There’s a comparator facing that direction and then we just have Hoppers inside of a line working their way towards the chest with a crafter right there all of these Hoppers are facing towards that chest and then all of these droppers are facing towards that Hopper line which means we get a fully Automated crafter so it would be nice if we just had the ability to place in the items inside the specific order and then have these actually go into the hopper and then maintain that same order while going down to the crafter but with the way that The Hoppers work both on Java And Bedrock Edition they kind of mix up and scramble the items and then although you put them into the Hoppers inside of the correct order and they should stay inside of the correct order they end up scrambling up becoming a big mess and then finding their way into the crafter Inside of a very unspecific way which means if you fed all of these ingredients in here to make TNT and they were inside of here like they are gunpowder there sand there gunpowder there sand there and so forth it should fill it gunpowder sand gunpowder sand Just like you would think however if we go ahead and pull all of these out of here and then we go ahead and turn on the system by hitting that button that’s going to dispense some and then if we look at the crafter you can see that they are all discombobulated and this Has to do with the way that Hoppers transfer items what you’re going to want to do is preset your filter here so take this and you’re going to basically craft it like you would be crafting inside of a crafting table and you’re going to Leave it there this is going to act as a filter block that will only allow these items to go inside of here and no matter how many items you fill this thing will always have at least one of each item in here which is going to hold all of your Item positions I would also highly recommend placing in all of your items inside of the specific crafting order as well that way they all find their way to this Hopper and are able to be sorted out without totally filling up this Hopper because you only have five spots Here so for example if you had a recipe that called for nine different ingredients and the ingredient that you needed to go in first was on the last dropper there then it would fill up all five of these slots with all the other items and then the ingredient that you Would need to go in first would be stuck back here in this Hopper and not be able to actually filter in here so I would highly recommend setting your pre- filter here for whatever you’re crafting and then place your items inside of the droppers inside of the correct orders so For this example we would have gunpowder in the first spot so that would be the first dropper and then the sand in the second spot which would be the second dropper gunpowder in the third which would be the third and so forth all the way down until you get to the end so After our pre- filter is set up and we have all of our ingredients inside of the C sequence inside of our droppers what are we going to do next well at that point we can go over here unpower this lever if it’s on which is going to Allow the machine to be turned on and then we can give it a quick pulse which is done by hitting this button whenever we do that that’s going to start crafting the items now one thing to note is you’ll see the lights on the back the Lights on the back is going to allow you to know that the crafter is actually being powered however whenever it successfully crafts something then it will show this animation to where this will go up and the front will go up and the top will be turning red as well and That’s going to let you know from a visual standpoint that the crafter has successfully crafted an item and put it inside of here as you can see we have 12 inside of here already so this thing is basically going to either craft until it runs out of materials or until you power This lever once you power this lever it’s going to stop the whole machine then it’s basically going to hold some items inside of here which is going to make it ready for next time so as soon as you unpower that lever again hit the button it’s going to craft these items Leaving one as a filter and then it’s going to request more items from the droppers repeating the cycle so how does this thing exactly work well we’re pretty much using an if logic and the way that we’re doing that is powering this at a specific time and powering the Droppers at a specific time so whenever you hit that pulse it’s going to then power all of these droppers dispensing your materials into this item stream it is then going to flow down here and begin filling into the crafter well as soon as it flows down through these Hoppers is going to have items in this specific Hopper here while they’re passing through through and that’s going to power this comparator which will then unpower the torch unpower this Redstone line which is directly powering the crafter underneath that part is not important because this block is not Activated by being unpowered it is activated by being powered so whenever the items are done flowing through here and all of your materials have now entered the crafter that will mean that this Hopper here is empty and as soon as that Hopper becomes empty is going to unpower that comparator since it no Longer has anything to read in that Hopper which will then allow this redstone torch to power powering that line which will then power the crafter so we are essentially saying whenever the items are done flowing through here and this becomes empty power the crafter which is perfect because that will mean Whenever that Hopper is empty that the crafter is full of materials and ready to be crafted so then the second part of the system is once that is powered it is going to directly spit out items into this Hopper and then we’re using the same signal logic if this Hopper has Items inside of it it’s going to power this comparator and whenever this comparator is powered is is going to power this Redstone line powering that block powering that repeater that block and then this Redstone line ultimately which will then tick all the droppers again repeating the cycle so it’s all Pretty much a big loop the nice thing about this circuit is whenever it tries to tick these droppers and there’s no more ingredients inside of these because you filled up all of these evenly with materials or at least you should have that will mean that there’s no items to Be dispensed which means that nothing will ever power this comparator because nothing will ever go inside of that Hopper which will then put the machine back inside of the idle State waiting for you to refill these and hit the button now this thing does not necessarily have to stay powered in Order for this machine to stay off you basically just need to break the cycle and the way that we’re doing that is just breaking the cycle using power so just like the button you can start the Machine by using this as well giving it a quick pulse and that’s going to start Crafting items again and as you can see we’re getting items that are being crafted inside of the large chest now and then if we go ahead and turn that off that’s going to stop the cycle and then after a few seconds we can briefly turn that off then that’s going to allow The machine to be in standby mode though it doesn’t really matter if you leave it inside of a powered state or an unpowered State as long as it’s not constantly crafting still and as mentioned the way that you’re going to stop it from crafting is just leaving This on a couple seconds which will break the cycle now if you go flicking that lever too much like I just did for demonstration purposes you might notice that you get too many items as placeholders in here so for this example we should have two in here instead of Three so we know as soon as we start this again is going to craft this first before dis ing more items so we want to bring this back down to two so the way that you can do that is just place a button here give it one single press Which will then craft what’s inside of there and now we’re back down to the placeholder of two and then whenever we go to start the machine again we can hit that and then it’s going to then start crafting again now what happens if we wanted to craft something that doesn’t Have nine items inside of it well we would go in here and then we can remove all this and then once all that’s removed let’s say we’re going to craft some Rockets so we’re going to preset our filter and you can put that because it’s a non shaped recipe you can put That any way that you would like although that does mess with my OCD so I do need to have that at least be even so we’ll go ahead and craft it like that and then we’re going to click all of the spots that we don’t need to use that way We’re only funneling items into these four spots and then because I’m on creative mode I have these droppers here that are pre-filled with items so I’m going to just replace the entire dropper you’re not going to remove the dropper you would then just refill these and Change out the materials so for this one we’re just going to need paper here and then gunpowder gunpowder and gunpowder and then we’re going to grab some empty droppers and place all of these droppers down which are empty so we have the gunpowder there that ends empty there Empty there so forth and then these other ones will be gunpowder gunpowder and paper now because I put them down on a powered block I probably have a bunch of stuff inside of here which is totally fine you can technically leave however many materials inside of here that you Want just keep in mind whatever materials that are left inside of here are a buffer and will not be crafted it will only craft one time for every cycle you just need enough room inside of here for an item to flow in so if you have 64 It’s going to lock off this spot and you’re not going to be able to have another item flow into here until it crafts which will then break the machine because then this Hopper behind it will never become empty so just to keep things simple you want at least one item Of each inside of here in order to make up your crafting recipe and to hold the spot but I would not let this go over for five items per stack that way you never have too many resources tied up and you don’t ever have a chance of Breaking the crafter and again if you’re using this thing properly and not replacing droppers like I just did with the lines powered you should never have any of these items building up inside of here so for example we have two here if we go ahead and turn that off whenever We turn that off it’s going to maintain the two items in there whenever we start it it’s going to deposit more items and then craft them and as you can see the smaller the recipe the faster this thing is actually going to crap because it doesn’t have to wait for these to Circulate the items so with making Rockets it is a lot faster now whenever you’re filling this thing you’re going to want to fill it like I said 1 2 3 4 I would highly recommend using the closer droppers to the crafter that way you don’t run into an empty one here or an Empty one here the reason being is we have four materials here and as long as a dropper has a item inside of it it’s going to be quiet however if we have a dropper that is empty then it is going to be loud and that’s that ticking that You hear so if you put all of your items on this side which we know that we have four here then we can go to this fifth one break this redstone dust and now it’s only going to power the ones that have items inside of it making this System totally quiet now this is an amazing automated crafter here it will craft pretty much everything that you can craft inside of a crafter or a crafting table and it is very easy simple and straightforward to build you can build this thing literally without a tutorial here however if you want Something that’s going to be a lot faster you are probably going to have to make some sacrifices one either being the size of it or two being the versatility of it I think what we’re going to be seeing a lot is probably something like this will be the gold Standard and this would be something that’s probably inside of somebody’s base that way they can readily change out the items if they want in order to craft a bunch of stuff in Bolt then they can just hit the button walk away and as long as the area is loaded it’s going to Craft all of your items for you however I think that we’re going to be seeing a lot of specific Contraptions too that are going to be very specific to the farm that they’re building so for example if you have a creeper Farm you’re probably going to want to build a Sugarcan Farm directly underneath it in order to have all of that gunpowder run down into a dropper for the crafter and then you’ll probably see a sugarcane farm that will then have the sugar canane go into a crafter to craft it into paper and then that paper will then Go into the primary crafter but with something that you’re going to be using a lot of like TNT or maybe Rockets you’re probably not going to want to sit there and wait for that thing to craft so you can do stuff like this however it Is very specific now this is going to be a level three rocket crafter level three is the rockets that I prefer to use use because they give you the most flight duration and it’s nice because the Rockets are not a shaped craftable recipe which means that they can all go Into this at any order so we essentially have a crafter inside of the middle that have five spots locked out with four spots open one for paper three for gunpowder and then we have four droppers pointing directly into that crafter those droppers are of course going to be gunpowder gunpowder gunpowder and then On the backside here we have paper and because the crafter does not currently have any kind of cool down and hopefully it will not in the future we can power this at a ridiculous amount of speed and as long as these have items in it it’s Going to be nice and quiet and as you can see we have a whole lot of rockets coming in very very very quickly but don’t worry guys it’s like a billy maze commercial but wait there’s more because you can reverse this on the other side because it’s flip-flo yes that is my new Word patent pending of course and then if we power both of these simultaneously like so and turn this on you’ll see that well both of these don’t work it’s broken that’s why it’s broken this is a perfect example example why you should set all of your pre-filters before doing Anything so we can get rid of that paper and for OCD purposes let’s just make this even just like so we’ll top that off and now nope let’s get the paper move that take two and now we have a ridiculous amount of rockets and then if You want that to go into the Container as well you can pretty much hyperfill this thing to where it gives you a stack uh roughly every second maybe second and a half or 2 seconds which is absolutely Bonkers so let’s hope that they don’t change anything and let’s hope that this Has the same functionality over on bedrock and this is pretty much after an immediate cut from me turning around to turn off the switch and then coming back this is pretty much after less than 30 seconds of crafting these which is absolutely Bonkers for any items that require four or five different Ingredients and does not require a shaped crafting recipe this is probably going to be an ideal design to craft stuff very quickly however unfortunately this is not going to work for any type of shaped recipe because all of the droppers are powered at the same in time Which makes for a very small and efficient simple circuit for all of your rocket needs now things do get a little more difficult whenever you are dealing with shaped recipes because these all need to be sent inside of the crafter inside of a specific order again you Could use a hopper line but then the hopper line is going to slow it down to one hopper speed because a item transferring system is only as fast as the slowest part of it and what I mean by that is if I put down a container Here and then I put down two Hoppers here this is going to be single Hopper speed so regardless if I put 1 million Hopper speed going into this Hopper it’s only going to go into this at one hopper speed which means it’s going to bottleneck the entire system down to one Hopper speed which is equal to 2 and 1/2 items per second which would also mean because this is getting 5 million Hopper speed input metaphorically of course this would quickly overflow because at one hopper speed it will not expedite the items fast enough hopefully that makes sense now you might be thinking That you can transfer the items into this at a much faster rate if you’re just using a dropper Tower like so and that is true that will allow it to be transferred into the crafter at much much higher speed than Hoppers however there’s a massive problem with this Design here and that is well we have all of our ingredients in here and as you can see each one of these ingredient droppers are going to only contain one item which is going to be that specific ingredient and then this one will have the gunpowder this one will have the Gunpowder and so forth which makes it perfect since all of these are filled up and it will only pull from the stacks and not an empty spot which means no matter how this thing ticks is always going to give you a piece of gunpowder due to the way droppers work if you are Unfamiliar they will randomly dispense items so it might dispense here might dispense here might dispense here might dispense here maybe here maybe here you get the idea the problem is is if you have a item inside of here or maybe two items inside of here that do not match Because this is dispensing and picking items randomly that means that you might get gunpowder or you might get paper so for the material feed droppers it is totally fine because there’s only one type of item inside of these so it will only ever dispense that particular item However whenever you make it into a dropper line yes you’re moving the items much much faster but because of that random characteristic it’s now going to have a multitude of different items inside of this dropper line and because it randomly dispenses you never know which one is going to be pushed to the Next dropper or pushed into the crafter and then you run into problems like this to where you no longer have paper which then breaks the crafter and will not allow it to make rockets now you can preset this like all the other ones however with these constantly cycling Items you’re eventually going to either end up with all gunpowder or all paper here which is then going to completely break the crafter so it’s just not going to be a reliable circuit so the other thing that I mentioned that people are going to probably want to build a ton of Is going to be TNT now I do have multiple different designs here and I’ve made multiple Fel designs too well I’m technically speaking all of these are Fel designs I think the one that I had the most luck with was this one over here and the problem that I had with This is that it was wasn’t quite keeping up with the output of the items so even though the output of the items on this one is turned down as you can see the sand is still losing its ability to really maintain it and even if I go down To a four tick delay you can see that we will eventually run out of the materials and then that’s going to eventually break it so essentially I’m having trouble getting all of the materials into the crafter fast enough without having to make the speed very slow and Then I think if the speed goes any slower then well we’re going to be pretty much even with what I made over there so that’s going to require a little bit more head scratching on my part and if I figure out any way to do It I’ll be sure to let you guys know here with that being said the multi crafter and the rocket crafter should work on both bedrock and Java Edition like I said I’m going to continue trying to get this pnt generator to work because I know that it’s going to be a Welld desired thing and I’m sure there’s a way to do it but I just have not quite figured it out yet if you enjoyed this video please drop a like down below it really helps the channel and if you **Works with Java / Bedrock /MCPE**
Unfortunately because this was recorded on Minecraft Java edition, there will not be a Structure pack download available in the description. However, It is simple enough to build that it really isnt needed. This Semi automatic crafter can craft any item that is able to be crafted by a crafting table/crafter block and will continue crafting reliably until the materials run out, or is turned off. The separate rocket crafter will also work in both versions of the game, and is very simple and easy to build. As always, if you have any questions then please drop them down below! 😀
