What is going on guys it is killer drone and welcome to the minecraft farming guide this is a series where I show you how to collect a ton of materials inside of Minecraft by building really efficient and really effective farms today’s video we’re gonna be focusing on Slimes how they spawn and how to set up an effective slime farm inside of your own world so without further ado let’s go ahead and let’s get right into it so in order to set up an effective slime farm in your own world you’re first going to need to know how slimes Actually work you need to know how they spawn where they spawn and also how they interact with iron golems now if you already know all of this information then you can go ahead and skip to the time code that is on screen now in order To just see the farm design but if you need to know what slime Chuck’s are how slimes spawn and things like that I recommend watching the entire video so that your slime farm actually operates so in case it’s not already obvious what we have in front of us here is a slime Now slimes are kind of a special case inside of Minecraft because they don’t abide by these same spawning algorithm that’s something like a zombie a creeper or a skeleton would consider whenever they try to spawn in they actually look for low light levels so if a light level Is low enough they will spawn into the world slimes however don’t care about light level it doesn’t matter if an area is completely lit up or completely dark they still will try and spawn into the world as long as other criteria are met so what is the other criteria that slime Need in order for them to spawn well they can only spawn in two places in the world they can either spawn in swamp biomes on the surface which is a pretty good way to get some slime early on but not a good way if you’re wanting to Build a slime farm if you’re wanting to build a slime farm you’re going to want to find what is known as a slime chunk so what is a slime chunk well let’s actually break this down a little bit further first what is a chunk a chunk inside of Minecraft is a 16 Sixteen area in which the world is generated so if your own Minecraft Java Edition on the PC what you can do is hit f3 and G and it will bring up your chunk borders so as you can see here I just hit f3 and G on my keyboard and you can See this is the outline of the chunk that I am currently in this is a 16 by 16 area that a slime could potentially spawn in if this was a slime chunk now this area that I’m currently in is not a slime chunk but that area right over There is this is a slime chunk and as you can see because this area is lit up slimes are the only things that can spawn down there and also I’m gonna desert biomes so it looks like some rabbits can spawn down here as well because they have access to sunlight but Under normal circumstances this would be completely underground and the only thing that would be able to spawn down here would be the slimes themselves because it’s lit up so creepers skeletons and zombies could not spawn down here so how do you find these slime chunks well there’s a couple of ways That you can do it and the first way that I’m going to show you is going to require us to go into a world that is not super flat are you ladies and gents here we are in a normal Minecraft world and this is the legitimate way to find a Slime chunk inside of Minecraft I’m going to show you another way that is a bit more Chiti here in a minute but this is the legitimate way and it’s also a longer way to find your slime chunks so let’s go ahead and cover how to find a Slime chunk the legitimate way inside of Minecraft so the first thing that you want to do is go below Y level of 40 so as you can see here we are down on Y level 24 and that is because even whenever you are in a slime chunk slimes Will only spawn below wide level 40 so all we have to do is go inside of our caves light up a ton of area so that other mobs cannot spawn and that slimes are the only things that can spawn in this area then what we do is we just have a Waiting game we wait to see if any slime spawn in these areas and if they do we know that that chunk that they spawned in is a slime chunk now this can be a very very long method in order to find a slime chunk because slimes are not Exactly the easiest thing to spawn into the game especially if it’s kind of some rougher terrain so another way that you could do this is just clear out large areas clear out very large areas underground and then see if slimes spawn in that area if they do spawn in that Area that means that that area is a slime chunk and you can use f3 and G in order to show your chunk borders and see hey a slime just spawned in this area this area is a slime chunk and you can then clear that slime chunk out now this Is the long but legitimate way to find a slime Chuck let me go let me show you guys another way that is slightly cheating are you ladies and gents so here in the exact same world what we’re gonna do is first and foremost get our Seed for this world so in order to get a seed for the world all you’re going to do is type in slash seed just like so and it will output a string of numbers this is your world seed and it determines how the world generates Around you so what I’m going to do is I’m actually going to take this seed and plug it into a program that is going to show me where all of the slime chunks are so let me go ahead and load up that program and I will show you guys how to Use it okay ladies and gentlemen so now you should be seeing my desktop this program is called chunk base and you can get to it just by going to chunk base comm slash Apps slash slime binder I will also leave a link in the description down below if you want to Check it out but all you’re going to do in order to find your slime chunks is take your seed from the world that you just got and go ahead and paste it into here and then hit find slimes and what it is going to do is show you the chunks Which a slime can spawn so as you can see if it is marked in green it will give you your coordinates down in this area here and tell you exactly what chunk these slimes will spawn in like I said this is kind of a cheating method But it does work if you’re kind of low on time also if you want to make a super farm by using something like this where there are five slime chunks all right next to each other you can do something like that with this program because Believe it or not a lot of slime chunks do spawn very close to one another so if you don’t mind cheating in your world this is an option for you but that is how to find slime chunks two ways one legitimate one Chiti you decide How you want to play but let’s go ahead and let’s jump back into our creative test world and let’s talk more about the farm itself so we are now back here in our creative test world where we know how slimes spawn into the game by using slime chunks or by using swamps now We’re not going to be covering swamps in this video at all because there’s really not an effective way to spawn slimes and control their environment enough in order to make a farm so we’re going to focus our build around using slime chunks for our farm so there’s a couple Of other things that we need to know about slimes and one of the main things that you need to know is that slimes will actually aggro on two iron golems meaning that they will try and attack iron golems if they can see them now how far away can slimes actually see An iron golem well as you can see here I actually have it laid out and slimes can see an iron golem from 15 blocks away from the iron golem so if I were to spawn a slime out here as you can see the slime doesn’t see the iron golem at All and just kind of wanders wherever he wants to go but if we spawn a slime anywhere in this green area like so he will immediately target the iron golem and start heading that way guys kind of small so he’s going to take a few minutes but if we do a bigger one As you can see they are all bolting over to that iron golem because they want to kill him so 15 blocks away is how far a slime will track an iron golem we’re gonna use this in order to clear out most of our pad for our slime chunk so Let’s actually get into building a slime farm now so in case I did not make this 100 percent clear before you start constructing your slime farm make sure that you light all of the areas surrounding your slime farm up you don’t want any areas for zombies creepers Skeletons anything like that to spawn in because they share the same hostile mob cap as those mobs so if there’s places for them to spawn then there’s less of a chance for your slime to spawn inside of your trap so make sure that you light up All caves make sure you light up the surface make sure you have no other place for mobs to spawn other than in your slime chunk okay so at this point in the video you should know how slimes spawn where slimes spawn and also how slimes interact with iron golems Now what we’re gonna do is piece all of that information together in order to make ourselves a slime farm so the first thing that you’re going to do is find yourself a slime chunk I’ve already done this here in this world and have also already cleared it out so the what You’re gonna do is find a slime chunk in your world and clear it out as well now you don’t have to clear it out all the way up to the surface I just did that here in this world so that it’s easier to see and follow along so the first Thing that you’re going to want to do inside of your slime form is come up with some spawning platforms you don’t just want one spawning platform at the bottom whenever you have all of this spawn table space all the way up to Y level 40 so what you’re going to want to Do is start at Y level 38 with your first spawning platform now the reason why level 38 is important as you can see here looking at block y is 38 the reason that this is important is because why 39 can still spawn slimes however why 40 cannot so as long as you Have one block above this spawning pad slimes should still be able to spawn but if you were to put your first platform on this level technically this is not a small table space for slimes so they would not spawn so this is just kind of a cheeky way to get one more spawning Platform out of your slime farm so my 38 you’re going to fill in this entire chunk all the way across and make yourself a spawning platform for these slimes once you are done filling in this level you’re going to go three blocks down and start another level and you’re Going to do this all the way down until you hit bedrock get as many spawning platforms as you need for your slime farm now there’s one other thing that I want to mention is this is an overkill slime farm I’m going to put in every single layer that I possibly can in this Tutorial but if you don’t need this many slime balls you can just come down to I don’t know say this area and just do a couple of spawning platforms like so it just kind of depends on how many slime balls you need this is for the insane People that want as many slime balls as they can out of a slime chunk but if you don’t need that many you can always just do a couple of spawning layers instead of this many so what I’m going to go ahead and do is I’m going to fill in all Of these spawning layers and then I’ll bring you guys back whenever we talk about lighting okay so since it is nighttime let’s go ahead and talk about the lighting pattern that you’re going to want to use for your slime platforms so what you want here is the most amount Of light that you can get into the farm in order to keep other mobs from spawning in here but you want as little translucent blocks as possible because slimes like other mobs cannot spawn on translucent blocks such as glow stone torches anything like that so we want as Few of these in the farm as possible but as many as possible in order to keep things like skeletons and zombies from spawning in your farm so what we’re going to do is we’re going to come over to the corners here and count out by three blocks so one two three and then In the fourth block you are going to place a glow stone you’re gonna do this for all four corners so one two three and then your fourth block do this for all four and then we will move on to the next section one two three just like so As you can see a lot of the platform is now lit but it’s still not perfect because if we stand over here and hit f3 our block light is at seven which means that skeletons zombies creepers things like that can spawn you have to have a Block level of eight in order for other mobs to not be able to spawn so what we’re gonna do is we’re going to put some glowstone in the dark spots now there is a dark spot on that side of the farm that’s how the farm that’s out of The farm and this side of the farm what I’m going to do is I’m just going to pick a centralized block here and just throw a glowstone on each one of these side walls like so it doesn’t have to be completely centered it doesn’t really matter you just need to make sure that It’s fairly close that way there are no mobs spawning on the outside and then the last thing that you need to do is somewhere in the center place a glow stone down like so and now your platform is completely lit up so that no mobs can spawn on here That is not slimes if we go ahead and check this block over here that is your darkest block it is at block light level eight so it is just lit enough that other mobs won’t spawn but slimes will so that is absolutely perfect this is the glow stone pattern or sea lantern Pattern whatever you want to use you can even use jack-o’-lanterns if you want you’re going to want to do this that way only slimes can spawn in your farm also if you’re running low on glowstone blocks or any type of lighting blocks that you’re using for this farm you And technically use the light from the above layer to help you out on the next layer for lighting I don’t really like doing this just because I think that every layer should look identical but if you want to go around and check for the block light like this and see where the Block lights of seven are and place a glow stone in it you can do that but just for consistency’s sake i like to do all of my levels the exact same so one two three and just like so and keep them all exactly even this is more of a Personal preference thing but just remember you’re trying to keep as much glowstone in here and also as little glowstone in here so you got to find a nice balance technically I should probably just use the light that’s coming from here in order to do this Level but my OCD is not gonna let me do that okay so once you have all of your spawning platforms and what you’re gonna want to do is make a killing trench off to one side of the platforms now it doesn’t matter which side you do this on So I just decided on this side and I dug three blocks wide all the way down alongside my platforms and then once I got to the very bottom spawning platform here I dug two more blocks down and put down some magma blocks at the bottom what this does is whenever any of your Slimes fall off and split into the smaller slimes here at the bottom they will constantly take damage on these magma blocks thus leaving their slime balls down here for you to run a hopper minecart underneath all of these picking the slime balls up so the last thing That you need to do in order to make this farm super efficient is get an iron golem on every single one of these floors so basically what you’ll do is you’ll start at the bottom here and you’ll place down some blocks just like so place down some oak fences and then Place down an iron golem behind those oak fences just like so then you can push your iron golem forward just a bit like that and then add in a back wall back here to keep him nice and tight up against the front of his cage then your next layer will just come One above his head like so and this should be even with the very next boning platform this will be where you once again add in another iron golem and you’re gonna do this all the way up until you are out of spawning layers and your farm will then be done now let’s Talk about if you want to make this farm super ultra efficient because the iron golems only attract the mobs up to 15 blocks away if the mobs are on this side of the farm it may take a minute for them to come to about this point here for them to Realize an iron golems over there and come running to their death if you want this farm to be as efficient as possible what you would really want to do is add another set of iron golems on the other side that way the entire spawning platform is covered and they are Constantly jumping off and targeting one of the iron golems now my personal belief it’s not worth the iron in order to do this yes you’re giving up slight amounts of efficiency by not doing it but I really think that this farm is already way way way more efficient than Most minecraft players will need but if you happen to think that you need it all the way you’re literally going to do the exact same thing a three-wide trench with some iron golems stuck in a room back here by the way make sure that you light up this room with a Jack-o’-lantern or something that way nothing spawns in there and kills the iron golem but yeah that’s basically what you’re gonna want to do for the other side as well if you want ultra efficiency okay so the very last thing that you need to do for your slime farm Is add in a collection system underneath your magma block layer so what I’m gonna do is i’m going to take some powered rails just like so and run them down the full length of the slime chunk right on where your magma blocks would be now once you come to the end here what You’re gonna want to do is take some regular rails in order to make the turn and then continue on with powered rails now you can supplement in some regular rails in between just make sure that your hopper minecart can get all the way around this loop and all the way back You don’t want this thing getting stuck underneath your magma blocks or else you’re gonna have a bad time trying to fix this thing later on so now what you’re going to want to do is just power up these powered rails so I’m going to remove some of these blocks I’m going to use some blocks of redstone you can use levers or whatever you need to in order to power this thing and then we’re going to add in some more blocks of redstone right down here like this this is going to allow for a hopper Minecart to go all the way down and collect all of the materials underneath where these magma blocks are so if we go ahead and give this a shove it should make it all the way around come back hit off that wall and bounce back coming back the other way And it should end up right here where we’re gonna have an unloader system set up that worked absolutely perfect let’s go ahead and work on the unloading system okay so the last thing that I’m going to add to this farm is going to be a hopper minecart unloader now for the Purposes of this tutorial I’m going to leave the output chest here at the bottom of the farm and you guys can decide what you want to do with the items after the farm is built so if you want to pipe the items up to the top Using an item elevator you can do that or if you want to leave them down here at the bottom you can do that as well so this chest right here is going to be your output you can do with the items what you will after the farm is built so The next thing that you want to do is pop a hopper into the side of that chest just like so and then get a powered rail and place it on top of that hopper the next thing that you want to do is get a slab just like so and place it even with That powered rail like that next what you’re gonna want to do is get a couple of stone blocks because we’re going to have to get a slanted detector rail right here so place down the detector rail then place a powered rail brake the powered rail and then place Down another block just like so now you have a slanted detector rail just like that and that will detect whenever the hopper minecart is here and has items in its inventory so next what we’re going to do is we are going to take a comparator signal out of the back of This block and into a block just like that that goes into a redstone torch on top of that redstone torch we are going to put a block with a redstone torch on the side of it and then across from that redstone torch we are going to place a Repeater going into another block with a redstone torch on the side of it now underneath that redstone torch you are going to grab a fence gate and place it right here as you can see that fence gate is open and that is because it is not detecting any top of hopper minecart In this area but if I go ahead and I set a hopper minecart on the track and give it a few items to pick up such as these slimeballs as you can see it’s going to go all the way around the track hit off the wall come back meanwhile it should be Collecting items and then whenever it gets here it will detect that there is items in the hopper minecart and they will be emptied out into here once the hopper minecart is completely empty it will continue on its way grabbing up more slime balls and then coming back here and unloading the last Thing that you need to do for this farm in order to finish it up is just place your magma blocks back down and this thing will be working a okay and you now have yourself a working slime farm so one last closing remark about this System is that if you ever want to turn off the hopper minecart from collecting materials because sometimes these hopper mine carts will break if you unload the chunks that they are in you can actually shut this farm off by coming to the side of this block here that has this torch on it Placing a lever and then just flipping the lever on even if the minecart is out there a minecart can pass through a fence gate this way but cannot go back through the other way so even if this thing is closed it can still come and park itself but it just will not release The minecart again until you release this lever so this is a basically a universal on/off switch for the farm so that’s really nice also if you do need to check out any of this form or any of this world you can go into the description of this video and I have Included a world download for you to check out so whenever I showcase a farm in a video that is not my own creation I like to give credit where credit is due so this original farm idea was by ill mango but his video is about two years Old at this point so I wanted to include this farm in the farming guide I do hope that you guys enjoyed an updated version as well as an explanation as to how slimes work in the first place but I do highly recommend you guys go and check Out el mango he’s putting out new updated material all the time with new farms on new updates for Minecraft so if you guys enjoy the technical side of Minecraft he’s one of the best creators on the platform to go and check out but anyway guys that’s going to be it for me Today I do hope that you enjoyed if you did be sure to leave a like on the video as well as if you new around here be sure to subscribe but anyway guys it’s gonna be it for me today I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in the next one Also if you have any other farms that you would like to see please let me know in the comment section down below and I will try and cover another farm here very soon on the channel Video Information
