Julien Azelart – THE BEST START EVER in 1.18 Hardcore Minecraft! (#1)

Hello everyone and welcome to minecraft hardcore  episode 1 in the brand new 1.18 caves and cliffs   update in this hardcore series i have a few big  goals for myself the first being getting better at   building every episode i’ll be challenging myself  to build something new that i’ve never done before  

Okay can you guys let me record please as i was  saying in every episode i’m gonna challenge myself   to build something brand new that i’ve never  built before to hopefully become a better builder   okay here we are in the world creation menu and  let’s get this world made hardcore season one  

And hardcore mode let’s go now i haven’t had the  chance to play the new update yet in survival so   this is all new to me and wow this is so different  looking already we have a huge stony peak over  

Here and this nice little valley it looks like i  think i like this okay let’s kick this series off   by doing what you do in every minecraft survival  world and that’s chopping down the first tree  

Why is this taking so long there we go okay the  first wood is acquired and let’s make ourselves   our first crafting table which i will be leaving  right here signifying that this is where our first   tree was chopped making the first wooden pickaxe  of the world and let’s go ahead and find some  

Stone so we can upgrade to some better tools real  quick looks like we have stone and coal right here   which is quite nice oh my gosh a zombie already  come on it’s not even nighttime oh i’m on fire  

No i’m i’m actually gonna die wow please oh  my gosh wow okay zombie let’s make ourselves   a sword real quick even though it’s just wooden  it’ll be better than using a pickaxe okay it died   okay wow what a way to start off the series  okay the first stone tools have been acquired  

And we are getting an upgrade now let’s  mine a little bit of this coal so i can   hopefully find some iron and i want to make a  shield because if we encounter any skeletons   it’ll be bad news for us on four hearts hello  coal it looks like it’s pretty big too now i  

Think i saw some exposed iron earlier so i’m  gonna head over to there and get that mind   up and look over here we have some exposed iron  which is amazing oh and it looks like it’s quite  

A bit too nice thank you minecraft 1.18 for having  easily accessible iron wow and there’s more over   there and over there okay it looks like we might  be getting full iron stuff right from the start oh whoa oh my gosh wow is  that a lush cave emeralds wait  

This is amazing after admiring the view  i went on a bit of a mining rampage to   get some more iron from this mountain  making sure to mine every vein i saw and just like that we have 45 raw iron it looks  like this series is somewhat turning itself around  

We had a rough start almost dying to a zombie but  now we have all this iron so we can make armor   and tools to help ourselves survive better and i  see some sheep up here wow okay this is perfect  

We have food and wool to make a bed so we can  survive the first night sorry and now we have   acquired the three wool that we need to make  our bed and survive the first night but before  

We continue my health is looking a little bit  low so i think we should stop here for a second   and smelt up our food and iron food iron nice  let’s go ahead and make the bed while we’re at it  

And i’m using a texture pack to give myself the  old bed textures because i think they look pretty   cool okay and we have acquired the first food  finally we can get ourselves off these low hearts  

Oh no oh no this is bad this is bad this is  bad and the sun is setting on the first day   i think i’m gonna take a little nap  right here as we watch the sun sets  

On our very first day in hardcore minecraft  and just like that the first day is over ooh   emeralds back to our iron to see how it’s smelting  along and i think i want to start finding myself a  

Place to settle down and call home this valley is  nice and all but it doesn’t have much of a view so   i think we’re gonna travel up this mountain  here and see what’s on the other side

Wow that’s a lot of iron day two full iron armor  this series is going great perfect oh while we’re   at it i see some bamboo i think i’m gonna go  mine that real quick just so we can have it as a

Hi how are ya resource okay there’s a creeper  hello what are you doing out here buddy boom   okay that iron axe really came in handy oh  i should craft a shield that would be very   very useful shield acquired hello bamboo  thank you you’ll become very useful for me  

Now the hunger situation is not looking so great  so i think i need to set out here and find myself   some more food oh food pigs chickens cows sheep  i think this is home guys now if i could just get  

Off this mountain without taking too much fall  damage that would be amazing hello water source   i think i’m going to steal this water and put it  in a bucket thank you let’s just flow down this  

Waterfall here this valley is so nice this is one  of the new biomes in the 1.18 update it’s called   the sparse jungle biome and i think it’s one of  my favorites we have this super green grass with  

Jungle trees but they’re more sparsely populated  so if you want to build on this biome it’s a lot   easier you don’t have to chop down as many trees  ooh melons hello i will definitely be using these  

I will spare you for now chickens oh an egg  hello oh that chicken scared me i thought it   was a creeper or something while i’m waiting  for my beef to cook up let’s get some seeds  

So we can hopefully plant a little farm later  oh hello i’m so on edge this series it’s crazy   hardcore why why’d he do this to me why hardcore  minecraft is literally like the horror version of  

Minecraft let’s go check out that mountain it’s  so big whoa this valley is so cool now the big   question is where are we gonna set up our starter  house i think i found just the place if this is  

Flat up here we can build a little house which  would be perfect we would have a great view of   the mountain and the valley this is looking  promising let’s see the view how’s the view   okay the view is pretty amazing fire does that  mean lava wait is that a ruined portal wow ruined  

Portal in the middle of the jungle what do you  have for me okay well fortune 3 pickaxe wow it   is now day three and i want to get started  on building our starter house and just like  

That i have all the trees cleared out so let’s  get a little bit of an area marked out where   we’re gonna build our starter house and with the  sun setting on the third day i think i finally  

Was able to mark out a little bit of an outline of  where i want the house to be now there’s going to   be a little bit of an offshoot here that’s going  to have kind of a lookout area onto the mountains  

Over there and without talking too much let’s get  to sleep because i don’t want any mobs to spawn   and on my fourth day in this world i  finally got to work on the starter house   i’m not the best builder so this frame  may have taken me quite a while to do  

But that’s the point of this series to get  better at building so we gotta start somewhere   so i have run into an issue i realized that i  don’t want to build this house out of only oak  

So we’re gonna go over to the spruce forest over  here and chop down some spruce trees so we can   get a little bit better of a block palette but  i think i’m not sure i’m not sure how this bill  

Is going to turn out but i think some detailing  and other things will make it turn out somewhat   decent for our first slaughterhouse  hello bird would you like some seeds   okay now mr bird come with me why are you running  away hello spruce trees exactly what i need okay  

I think we have enough and we can see just the  little remnants of our starter house over there   hopefully it will be looking better here very  soon mlg water i’m insane okay and here we are   back at the starter house my spruce logs have  been acquired as well as some spruce saplings  

So we can keep getting spruce logs and without  further ado let’s cut to another build time lapse   for this build i wanted a two story house but it  was looking a bit too boxy so i decided to add a  

Small little area off to the side to break up the  big box shape i also messed up the roof about five   times so that was fun but i think it’s coming  together quite nicely okay so with the basic  

Outline of the house done there’s definitely  a lot of improvement to be done like i think   i want to add a little porch right here because  it looks definitely way too flat in the front and  

We’re gonna start working on the little greenhouse  area on the side but the roof looks kind of nice   i learned this new building technique where if  you rotate stairs it kind of looks like there’s  

Tiles missing in the roof kind of gives it that  weathered look and i think it looks kind of good   here i’m adding some details this roof thing  was quite hard to get it looking decent but   i actually like how it turned out i then turned  my attention to the greenhouse where i added  

Glass and an interesting roof design overall i  think it looks quite good attached to the house   we then spin around to the other side of the house  to see the floor-to-ceiling windows to give us a  

Great view of the mountain in front of the house  and on the sunset of day 11 that took a long time   we have the build almost entirely complete i think  it’s time for me to move in and i can get started  

On what’s coming next for the episode okay and  here we are upstairs in the house i’ve put in some   chests and i put in a little bed and i’m actually  gonna go ahead and craft myself a second bed  

Because if we’re ever out exploring it’s always  important to always have a bed that way we can   skip the night and not have to worry about mob  spawning i’m going to get my chest organized here  

And then it is time to start working on the next  thing that we have planned for this episode okay   this farm is pretty tiny i think it’s going to  be mostly aesthetic i saw in a flip video that he  

Likes to place the water in the corner away from  the farm and i realized that that’s a great idea   let’s get some wheat seeds planted up let’s go  find some animals and make a little bit of a farm  

Setup outside wow this view of the slaughterhouse  from above here it’s quite nice i like how   it turned out okay i think i want the farm to  be kind of over here and boom now some shears  

Thank you some carpet and a way in and out of the  farm awesome our first sheep hi buddy and the sun   setting through our beautiful window on day  14 wow it’s already been 14 days that’s crazy   let’s try to get these guys rounded up  okay the pears and the bats let’s go so  

Now that we have the animal farm somewhat  set up i want to get started on a larger   food farm because food is very important and  as you can see we only have oh wow creepers and  

Pillagers that’s not fun no please okay i’m gonna  lead you away from my house case you explode why   where did you come from boom and there’s pillagers  down there too hi friend would you like to perish so as i was saying before i was rudely  interrupted by these pillagers and creepers  

I’m gonna build a farm down here but first  we need water and wow that was convenient and   after using up an entire iron hole and having  to make a new one our farm is fully hoed out  

Now it is time to plant with the only 20 seeds  that i have but this farm will be expanded in   the future let’s build a little path so i don’t  trample my crops coming in and out from the house   oh my god where are these creepers coming from ah

Please oh my gosh i didn’t have my shield on me  okay now does it look good maybe does it work good okay at least it works   maybe we should add some lanterns on the  side let’s get some fences and some lanterns

Okay there’s zombies underneath here i think  there’s a cave underneath my base that is making   all these creepers just like miraculously appear  and come to my base so now that we have the food   and animal situation somewhat taken care of i  think it’s time to go on a little exploration  

And find where those creepers are coming from i  think they’re coming okay so look there’s zombies   right here too so i think we’re getting close  yes okay that’s where they’re coming from we   have found the source oh i’m scared oh my  god there’s so many oh no i’m out of food  

Please oh oh my the creepers right there  it was hidden behind okay the caper is dead   and the zombie is dead that was way too stressful  okay there’s more creepers oh my gosh i like how  

Whenever a creeper blows up i just say please i’m  just begging the creeper to just spare me please   don’t kill me that’s what’s going through my  head okay let’s light this up hi friends ah okay  

Wow that was kind of scary we’re only on three  hearts so i think i might need to harvest a little   bit from the farm if you know what i mean so sorry  okay i’m scared three hearts on hardcore minecraft  

It’s terrifying let’s get this food cooked up as  soon as possible and then we can go back into the   caves and finish lighting it up after cooking up  my food and regenerating some health it was back  

To the cave to fight off a few more mobs and light  up the rest of it to protect my house i think it’s   time to go mining and explore the new caves in the  update now we have a cave down here that we can  

Explore this huge one right down here and i think  that maybe we’ll be able to find some diamonds   this cave is quite steep so i have to watch out  wow this cave is pretty nice diamonds wow that  

Was so easy wait we have a fortune 3 pickaxe above  i forgot wait can gold mine diamonds though a few   moments later okay i’m back from a quick research  trip and it looks like that is actually possible  

Now will the pickaxe work that is the question we  want to know and i guess we’re about to find out   no it doesn’t work no okay there’s more  diamonds here so we will mine these with  

An iron pickaxe this time so here we are at  y minus 59 which is the new best place to   mine for diamonds i’m gonna do a long strip  mine and see how many diamonds we can find so i just finished a long mining session  and it’s not because i ran out of pickaxes  

It’s because i ran out of torches and how many  diamonds do you think i got six diamonds yep   okay so what we’re gonna do is we’re actually  gonna go back to the surface get myself a shield  

So i can actually fight mobs in the caves then i’m  gonna go caving because that is a better idea than   what i’m doing right now okay wow that was a very  successful mining session the only thing that was  

Bad was that we only got six diamonds but i think  it was still great so we got our first potato when   we were down in the mines we killed a zombie  and it dropped one so that means i’m actually  

Gonna plant it indoors to make sure it’s extra  safe here we go our first potato of the world so now that i’m all geared up it’s time for  another mining adventure except this time   i’m actually not going strip mining because  clearly that is such a waste of time here i  

Am digging straight down carefully of course  and i’m hopefully going to find a case soon   looks like this cave is a dead  end unfortunately oh a spawner yo taking a quick screenshot nice okay oh   we have a mine shaft that is already promising  a minecart chest nice please diamonds  

Yay we found two diamonds amazing i then  continued my adventure into the mine shaft   coming across a few more diamonds when i found  another cave and we found some diamonds right here   two diamonds maybe four oh it’s a big vein finally  that brings the total up to 11. a bit more mining  

Went by and i decided to ascend to the surface  so i could make use of everything that i just got   and we can see the starter house coming  into view all the way over there with the  

Massive trees next to it that i haven’t cut down  yet and just as the sun is setting perfect timing   now we have 21 total diamonds i’m not sure what  i’m going to do with these yet but i think what’s  

Going to be very important for my survival is to  make a diamond chest plate and some diamond boots   because that is where you get the most amount  of damage i’m always taking fall damage and i’m  

Always getting shot and this gives you a lot of  armor and then the rest of our nine diamonds i   think i’m just gonna put them in here and then  decide what to do with them later because i  

Am very indecisive so what i think i’m going  to do is make a grindstone and then with that   grindstone i’m gonna disenchant one of the books  that we found in the mines i think frostwalker  

One is the worst out of all of them so we’ll  get rid of that now what i’m gonna do with this   we have a regular book we can go ahead and craft  ourselves a enchanting table and that just about  

Wraps it up for episode 1 of hardcore minecraft  that was about 28 days worth of play time which   is kind of insane in the next episode i’ll get  the enchanting table all set up and ready to go
