Whether you’re just starting out or on your thousandth run of soggy cave there’s a lot you need to know about Mojang’s top-down a RPG minecraft dungeons hello explorers it’s Kodiak here one half of the team behind Legion gaming and today I’m back with part two of everything I Wish I knew sooner about minecraft dungeons By now you’ve probably heard about the blacksmith that villager that sells you all sorts of weapons and armor but there has been a ton of confusion since day one about how he works I’ll admit I even got it wrong on occasion so now I’m setting the record straight so that no One ever heads back to camp unprepared the blacksmith sells players gear based on their current power level but that power level only registers when they leave a level and head back to camp once you’re at the camp changing your gear round does nothing to improve your chances at a higher gear from the Blacksmith so make sure before you leave any level that you wear the highest possible combination of gear it may seem like an unnecessary burden but it’ll give you the best possible chance to climb the power level ladder and reach the endgame I hate to say it but at some Point in your minecraft dungeons experience you’re going to need to speed run whether it be for loot or to track down secrets buried deep within a level the key to a good speedrunning set is the gear I personally run with the Ember robes but recently I found a set of Shadow Walker gear with double cooldown enchantments you can really make any set of armor work but there is a magic combination your goal should be to find gear with damage reduction and ideally two cooldown enchantments this will provide you with survivability and quicker access to your artifacts in Terms of those items you’ll want to use a combination of the boots of swiftness Ghost cloak and Death Cap mushroom I still get questions daily about where to find the ghost cloak so if you’re still struggling to track one down head to creepy crypt this is a secret Level unlocked in creeper woods and if you need help with that check out the video we already released on the channel with all your speed running gear acquired you’re ready to go and this is where you need to switch gears and start thinking about your ultimate goal speed Running is about making the most of your time getting in and getting out as efficiently as possible gear can only take you so far the rest is up to you the key is to time out your artifacts and avoid fighting at all costs if you have high enough cooldown reduction on Your gear you’ll most likely be able to rotate your artifacts without delay which gives you a permanent movement speed boost no matter what your goal is there is always a speedrunning solution so if you’ve resisted up until this point it may be time to change your tune and Right out for yourself if you’ve been following Legion gaming for any extended period of time you’re probably aware that we’ve covered a number of unique items throughout all those videos I tried to be as fair as possible when judging the value of a particular unique but the truth is some are just better Than others a RPGs always have a meta that is a combination of things in this case gear and enchantments that make it far better than anything else in the game before the jungle awakens DLC that meta was the fighters bindings with radiance whirling and critical hit if You had that item with those three enchants you could pretty much do anything in the game without fear of dying there are a number of offensive items that in my opinion are a cut above the rest they include the fighters bindings the whirlwind axe the lightning harp crossbow the growing staff the Nightmares bite the cursed axe and the harp crossbow now this is just my list there are plenty of other decent weapons but these are the ones that I found myself using throughout my adventures in terms of armor this one really comes down to personal preference everyone has different thresholds when it comes to Survivability versus mobility but if you did want my opinion I’d say the following where my top picks in terms of defensive gear the wither armor the stalwart armor and the splendid robes since day one I’ve seen people arguing about whether or not it’s important to dive deep into the endgame Before you start focusing on loot I understand that some people just want to play the game to have fun and that’s perfectly fine but the truth is you’re doing yourself no favors by wasting time in default or adventure mode at this time there is no way to increase the Power level of your gear which means you’ll end up salvaging things sooner rather than later minecraft dungeons doesn’t actually get harder in the higher difficulties sure there are some more enemies packed into rooms but other than that there isn’t anything special that separates default from Apocalypse it’s one of those dirty Secrets of the game that no one wants to talk about minecraft dungeons just isn’t that hard and because things virtually stay the same with each difficulty level your gear is really the only variable I don’t want anyone to think that pushing deeper into the game is required if You’re having fun playing on default then keep doing that but if you really want to make the most out of your minecraft dungeons experience and get to the point where you’re collecting gear that will stick with you for the long run focus on reaching apocalypse and getting to the hardest difficulty I Promise it’s not as challenging as you may think now this next trick is not going to shock anyone but the video is called wish I knew sooner which is why I’m including it today minecraft dungeons gives you access to two different Maps an overlay style map and a full map Which details how many chests and secrets are up for grabs but the challenge is the game doesn’t do a good job showing you how to get to each map respectively this is more of a problem on councils than anything else regardless of what system you play on to Access your overlay map simply tap your map button but if you want to see the full map pull down the map button for a second or two it’s a silly thing but one that we still get questions about all the time hopefully this video helped a few of you with your minecraft dungeons Adventures if you do have any questions feel free to leave them in the comment
