MCTechnomancer – Minecraft Mod Spotlight: ARS MAGICA! Create spells, fight bosses, and more!

Thank you hello everyone MC technomancer here with a mod review actually I thought um you know I thought I’d do something different for change and this is one of my favorite mods it’s not in my Survival series because I’m I couldn’t find it any version of this mod to work with 1.7.2

Anyway this is ours Magicka this is like one of my favorite mods and I’ve been um I’m messing around with it a little bit and there’s so much stuff in this mod this mod is like huge so I thought I would um not show you everything but show you

Like how to get started and stuff so basically the first thing I want to do make a book I hang on sorry about that anyway first thing you need to do make a book everyone knows how to make a book and so the cool thing is you have to

Find this which is um a really cool thing it’s called liquid ethereum and it it’s some pretty cool it spreads like lava I mean it acts like lava except it’s good it doesn’t set you on fire um and it spreads really slowly anyway so you put a book in an item frame near

Pool of this they spawn like naturally in the world and this happens look at that new and you get the um the thing and usually when you pick it up it says you have unlocked the secrets of the arcane but um in my case I’ve already I’ve already am I mean anyway

So this book will tell you everything you need to know about this this like say oh I want to know how to craft um a lectern you just look up here and it’s just right there all right so next thing you want to do is craft and Oculus Rift um not Oculus Rift

But anyway so that’s crafted using stone bricks three stone bricks like this glass too too cool and one blue topaz which is made by mining one of these five oars um this one right here blue topaz or um needs yeah excuse me a bit horse seven game mode s I am

That’s crime rate this is vintium blue topaz moonstone and Sunstone now um these three um here generate randomly generate in the world this one I think generates in the nether I think but moved in or you can only get at night sometimes at night meteors will fall

From the sky comets I don’t know but anyway in the and they’ll be made out of this stuff so it’s fairly rare to get I guess all right anyway so once you craft this Oculus um you can open it up and well there’s a whole bunch of stuff but

If you’re in survival it’ll be all grayed out and you’ll have to unlock it using these skill points here and you get those skill points by leveling when you level up um see that little three at the bottom of my screen that means I’m level three and you basically um

Use those to unlock all these spell shapes and components like and you’re thinking now oh my goodness there’s so many what do these do well I’ll show you anyway so the next thing you want to do is craft and inscription table and to do that you need three slabs of any type of

Wood two blocks of any type of wood a torch a feather and spell parchment which is crafted spell hang on and while I look this up oh yeah two sticks and paper so really easy kind of like you know scroll pattern I don’t know don’t do that anyways so when you um

Yeah it was doing a bit of stuff for that anyway so you’ll need to put in first get yeah so you’ll need to put in not a book and quill and you should know how to do that and basically you put in the book and quill and then you drag in the spell

Component so say I wanted to make magic Missile because you know everyone loves making Dungeons and Dragons stuff so first you put in projectile so it that’s a spell shape basically how what it looks like and stuff and then you put in what it does at the bottom so

Magic damage and call it magic Missile hi all right and this make spell icon button thing is only for creative mode and that basically just makes a spell anyway so once you have that you have to build this thing which is a crafting altar it’s a spill altar thing

And anyway you need one of these things a crafting altar which is made really simply ventium dust and stone this is really easy to get set up and a lectern which is three slabs of any type and one plank of any type and anyway you take your book and you

Put it on there and you can read it there and this will show you how to make um the spell so see for this you’ll need blank room ventium dust Arrow snowball purple moon lapis lazuli book stone sword and spell parchment and so the by the way the um compendium the

Arcan compendium tells you how to create this whole thing um it’s in the yeah crafting altar see it shows you exactly how to make it so pretty cool anyway so you’ll have to gather all those file components a blank Rune is just made by a whole bunch of cobblestone ruin a blank rune

Then you need ventium dust arrow in the snowball I’ve been ventium vests air row snowball and you start the process I’ll just start now by throwing thing in yeah and you know it works if you see these like little spiraling runes then you continue doing that and they explode in magical sparkles

All right so next thing you’ll need is purple room lapis was relying on a book not rube rune lapis and book there’s so many books all right Q Q and Q oh yeah and it also shows you what you’ll need on top of it so stone sword easy

I don’t know if you can use one with with like a whole bunch of damage with like damage values I don’t know and spell parchment always finishes the spell and so once you set that last one in it’ll make a sound and you’ll get an unnamed spell

And so if you name the book then it’ll go like that and that now you can choose an icon for it so you can like easily see oh this is my magic Missile this is my Fireball etc etc sold you said because that looks cool and then you just right click the cast

Of spell it’s pretty cool and um does quite a bit of damage actually I’m let’s get a willing volunteer no please please don’t hurt me yeah three damage oh it’s being sucked in by my dark energy thing no sheep yeah okay it does more damage if you’re higher level

Did you really have to kill my willing volunteer Dark Energy thing I’ll get to that later um so yeah basically it doesn’t do as much damage as I had hoped but um yeah okay so that’s cool that’s very cool now say you wanted to make a spell that you cast on yourself

There’s like self say like a heel spell so self and then search heal um heal and healing there’s a whole bunch of heal oh I need them uh book and quill there we go and now I have a heel spell and shift right clicking on the lectern

Gives you back the book so that you can keep it if say you lose your spell somehow anyway so while you’re reading this you might think oh my gosh 500 Essence where am I going to get that well that’s where this thing comes in this is an obelisk not a grass block

Um this is an obelisk and is crafted by chiseled stone bricks which actually have a recipe in this month in this mod it’s just for stone bricks of any type anyway chisel stone bricks Stone and ventium dust so again very simple and what you do is you right click on it

And you put in ventium dust and it’s not burning at the moment because um well you’ll see if you want to see how much essence you have in this you have you need a magic Tech Magic Magic deaf thing anyway so you right clicking and it

Shows you how much distance there is in there and oh my goodness it’s full because I was um experimenting anyway you can craft this by the way by um um it’s pretty simple gold nuggets and blue topaz and then you’ll need a crystal wrench there we go and this will

Put when you need it when you’re needed um put all the put the essence from here into your altar so all right anyway let’s put these away for now so you start out always the blank rune tossed in ETC you know I really like the spell making process in this mod

Oh yeah this month also has like a whole bunch of flowers that you can find in different biomes um the desert Nova the blue orchid the lake Bloom and what is that thing lesser Focus and okay good good good very good now right click on the crystal wrench and

Then you right click on the this thing very successful all right and after and so the Sparkles will disappear and then that thing will come up or whatever the next the next thing in your um recipe Green Room all right Q another Elm Elm that is life essence an egg

I’m sorry if this is a bit boring but this is how you make spells potion of healing potion of feeling there we go Q and spell parchment and there we go there’s your healing spell and let’s put like bad thing okay so now you have your healing spell

Which makes a cool particle effect and then heals you so let’s say I’m um let’s go up here oh my goodness and then that heals you so really cool um yeah okay so you’ll notice on these two other things these two other um magical thingies these are um what’s needed to um

Make dark and light energy this only makes neutral energy so yeah neutral Essence this makes dark Essence and the way it does that is this is this is the best part no I’m still in enable Okay anyway this is still in um yeah so this is very fun this is the

Best all right let’s grab an iron golem look at that Isn’t that cool they just you just spawn just um like move like any animal near it and it gets sucked in and it creates energy now this is full but basically I’m the more um hit points that something has

Um the more energy you’ll produce so for example a chicken would would not produce as much energy as yeah um an iron golem because they have of course different health and this is the light energy which basically just generates during the day and this is full because I’m

I’ve been at this for a while anyway it generates energy during the day pretty slowly but um it doesn’t explode or anything I think that has a chance of exploding I’m not sure and also standing near these will give you Mana regen which is very good it’ll just Regen all of your Mana

So there is a whole lot more stuff in this mod like seriously so much stuff I guess I can show you a few of the bosses but honestly there was so much stuff all right I can I’ll show you um a few of the bosses I guess

All right I have a few Guardians picked out and this thing which I think you’re going to like anyway let’s make a really super op spell so let’s get out of peaceful mode for one I just changed a piece because there are a million like a million um slimes

Oh my Yep this is the hell cow and why do I have yeah I don’t see why that was messed up all right hell cow moo moo the noises this guy’s making yeah that’s the hell cow not very exciting I guess um this is oh my goodness this is a life Guardian

And as you can see is very powerful and it spawns minions and it’s not taking any damage and that guy is on fire all right let’s kill this guy it’s getting healed okay yeah these guys are um these guys have bad news so none of none of these guys are actually getting hurt

Um this guy is just hitting me with his Blaze pattern okay this is a mess hang on um I just had to quickly get rid of those guys all right the water guarding is his first boss again um yep he’s very Squiddy anyway yeah he’s easier to take down but he but

Um the only way you can spawn him is in a watery biome and he will drown you when you’re fighting him and he drops and infinity orb which gives you a new skill point and these things these are so cool you put them in your um leg area

And they float around you and it looks really cool yep all right the next boss that I’m going to the last spot I’m going to show you is this guy because he looks pretty amazing I mean come on and this is doing hardly any damage all right this is gonna take a while

All right so this look how far I had to all right back to Peaceful options peaceful done anyway um this drops a red Infinity orb which gives you Red skill points basically there are three different types of skill points red blue and green they unlock different type of Spell components and

Shapes and stuff so you need to cost kill these bosses like a few times really anyway guys that’s um that’s all for now I there’s so much stuff in this mod and really um the only way I I could not explain it to you in an hour long video it but
