Minecraft: A New Beginning – 1.16 Survival Let’s play | Ep 1

Hey guys what’s up J wispier and welcome to episode one of the minecraft a 1.16 survival let’s play it’s been a while since I’ve done a survival let’s play so it feels really good to be back in another one and I’m super excited to start this especially in an update as

Great as 1.16 this is adding so much stuff to minecraft specifically in the nether and I think it’s gonna make for a really awesome let’s play so let’s get right into it so just like we start out any classic survival let’s play and we have to punch

Some trees now I’m not sure what I’m gonna accomplish in this episode of 100% yet I’ll probably just do a starter house build a little bit of mining and stuff like that but I have lots of stuff planned later in this series especially a lot of tutorials I think this series

Is going to be very tutorial heavy showing you guys how to make a lot of farms in afk and auto stuff like that involving redstone because that’s really what I want to do I think that’s fun but I also have some build projects for later on now if you have watched any of

My other survival Let’s Plays which are by far the most popular on my series either 1.14 or 1.15 I’ve gotten I’ve gotten a little bit of backlash from some people the people that are mad because I’ve never gotten super far in a survival let’s play but that’s usually because I just mess

Up my worlds with snapshots or something like that but I’m gonna make sure with this world that I make backups I keep it safe because we aren’t actually on at this stable version of 1.16 yet we are on 20 W 16 a which at the time I’m recording this is the most recent

Snapshot and they just added a lot of really cool stuff they just added Pigman bastions and you know the new pig pig steppe music disc which i think is really cool but I’m sure there’s definitely more to come in this update and it will update the world as the

Snapshots come out so I think that’ll be really exciting but anyways I got some wood let’s try to get a view of our surroundings and see what’s around here so we start in a normal forest looks like we have a birch forest over there what oh god what’s in this direction I

Want to see so it looks like we have a Plains biome okay is it just a Plains biome what else do we have oh I see some I see some dark oak in the distance so let’s head over there I want to try to get some dark oak I think that’ll be a

Good building block for maybe building a starter house okay so yeah we have a dark oak forest that’s really good we also have lots of sheep around here so after I get probably a stone sword I’ll start to take them out oh we have a mine right

There perfect for us we have some horses looks like we’re doing good anything interesting over here is it just looks like it’s just a normal Plains biome but that’s still cool that’s always really good for building wait hold on I’m actually confused what is this what oh

Okay see I always make a snapshot video every week but I didn’t make one on the newest snapshot but I did read I remember reading that there’s broken portal remnants or something like that I think that’s what it’s called and so I think this is what that is I mean it

Looks like it looks like a nether portal this is crazy so wait right Oh God right near our spawn we have crying obsidian we have obsidian we almost have a full nether portal I could probably break this obsidian with a diamond pickaxe make it we have a gold block okay um the

Only thing I was confused about is I thought these only spawned in the nether but I guess Mojang just really wants to get people into the nether fest to experience this update so they’re in the overworld what’s in oh okay a fire charge another piece of obsidian some

Gold a clock and a golden shovel with efficiency – that’s insane let’s try to get here I’m gonna actually I’m gonna take this chest we can use it let’s come back here in a little bit I want to try to a break that gold block because that’s definitely gonna come in handy I

Think it’ll be really cool if maybe I can get some apples and then with that make it Golden Apple because if we can get a golden apple right off the bed that’d be pretty OPI definitely be really excited for that also before I get too far in the episode I also want

To mention as with any survival let’s play I do I obviously have my own plans but if you guys obviously have any ideas you know any builds you want me to do any farms you want me to deal with just anything you want me to do in a survival

World let me know or if I do something and you think you can critique a build or a farm make it better make it more efficient let me know cuz I’m always down to a communicate with other people and see what they have to do I’m not

Because I like to make farms but it seems like it’s gonna be whoa oh we have lots of animals okay we’re we’re pretty sad let’s take out some of these chickens get some chickens hopefully we can go back in there and cook it up in a little bit I’ll come back here

Alright let’s also take out the Sheep I want to try to get some wool so we can get a bed and hopefully skip our first night that be I think that’d be pretty pong if we could do it I ate a little beef so we can sprint now come on take

You out one more sheep come on we have one piece of wool so far so we’re doing alright ok we have to come on one more sheep drop it for us and we have another cave right over we have lots of caves this is a great spawn I’m gonna put the

Seed in the description in case any of you guys want to play along with me or follow along or anything like that because it seems like we have a lot around this spawn there we go we got the wool we need before we go any farther into the cave let’s get everything we

Need let’s get some stone tools and also start cooking up some of this food so that hopefully I can actually regenerate some hearts ok we got our furnace let’s start cooking some of that mutton we actually have a decent amount so that should be able to get us a lot of food I

Just want to get a full set of stone tools here usually I wait till I get iron but this world seems a little more dangerous than usual what different we run normal I don’t know I’m gonna leave it on Normal difficulty if you guys want me to

Put it on hard I will I don’t really care about difficulty that much I mean I’m sure I’ll still die all the time so I’m such a reckless minecraft player but I think it’ll still work out alright let’s get ourselves an axe though and a shovel and we should be pretty set

Alright sweet we also have some mutton here so we can regen but we have this little lava pool let’s block this up and see maybe there could be some iron or whatnot down here that’d be really cool if we could get ironed right off the BET

Oh I guess I didn’t to make a stone shovel I have a gold one I mean it won’t last that long but I mean hey it should break the dirt relatively fast cuz gold yeah gold is quick so in case we need to excavate an area for our starter house

I’m gonna keep this lets also let’s make a few torches before heading down there I want to I want to play it safe I heard rather be safe than sorry if I died my first episode that’d be very embarrassing I don’t want that to happen I’m sure I’m gonna die plenty in

The nether because we’re gonna be doing a lot of stuff in the nether obviously this is the nether update one thing specifically I want to do is to try to find a piggelin Bastion and turn it into our permanent survival base so put a nether portal in there so we can get in

And out but have the bastion be our actual base you know have our chests there stuff like that I think that’ll turn out really cool and I’m hoping that that’s a good idea again it’ll definitely be a pretty big project it’ll take a while Oh No okay good we’re good

I can take them out come on I honestly don’t care here actually blow up oh damn oh we got a music disc okay okay I’ll take that look at these you know I’m kind of I’m kind of a pvp god oh we got cat that’s one of my favorite

Music discs are we have an Enderman that’s fine you don’t just just go down there I’m gonna I don’t want to deal with you guys right now I’m heading back this is not safe enough I need to get some sort of armor going on before I can

Fight guys I mean I would like iron armor maybe I can get some leather armor I mean I know it’s not the best I don’t want to kill horses for leather armor because then people are just gonna just gonna yell at me but I don’t know

There’s got to be something I can do to protect myself or maybe make some sort of a mind cuz it’s almost it’s all it’s almost it’s almost nighttime so here let’s let’s settle down really fast maybe this cave are you safe is this cave safe for a little temporary Oh nope

Okay you’re not so oh my gosh this world is trying to kill oh okay good they’re fighting let’s let’s make our bed really fast and when it turns daytime hopefully they’ll burn up oh it’s not nighttime yet come on make it a nighttime make it nighttime keep fighting please let me sleep oh

There we go okay we’re good we’re good okay so it is morning now who we’re all set whoo that was that was intense I was so scared did they both die oh they must have killed each other okay I’m good with that I mean don’t take it we have a bed

Though so we should be fine I mean we have the risk of dying in caves but I think I think I can handle myself enough normally I play a little more aggressive in Minecraft like I would just go and fight them but since I have no armor whatsoever right now I really

Want to play it safe ideally obviously we would get no deaths in this world but if we get a few I’m fine with that okay you know what zombie justjust come on Skelton help me out take him down let’s regen really fast go back there we go come on yes there we go

Prost ret okay do we have any iron here at all what why I live where it’s 66 we might be too high up for iron to spawn we might have to travel a little deeper Caves getting sort of scary now I have a little more coal I don’t want to spend

All my coal on torches in case I need to make some more food but I like I guess I did we can get more coal it’s okay is there any iron down here please all yes okay one vain that’s all I’m asking for I’m good with that normally I would make

A pickaxe right off the bed but I think I don’t know let’s see how many I have I can make I have six I can make a sword and some boots or I could make like a pair of pants I think armor is my best bet right now it seems like I’m

Struggling a lot to fight against mobs so armor would definitely be my best bet especially since I don’t have a lot of food so let’s let’s head up here just where we’re safe smelt this up and make ourselves some pants okay we got our iron let’s cook up some chicken really

Fast also I don’t know what I was thinking I said let’s make some pants I can’t make pants I could make a help but then I couldn’t get a sword I really want iron sword I think that would help let’s just make an iron sword we have

Four left would it be worth it to make boots or should I just you know what we have the sword let’s just let’s just make a pickaxe with it that’ll be okay I’m not gonna use it yet I’ll wait till my my stone pickaxe dies plus we have to get the isn’t it

I run pick to achievement I think that’s funny instead of ironic but I think we’re pretty safe instead of traveling deeper into mines I think we should try to find a place to settle down make a house I want to I want to go back to where that that portal thing was now

That we have the iron pick I can get that gold block which should be pretty nice and I also I’m gonna kill some of the chickens around here because I don’t really care about chickens um but I want to keep a lot of the other animals alive

So we can make some animal farms chickens are nice because I always make automatic cooked chicken farms in my Let’s Plays but I don’t know I feel like maybe I should do something different this let’s play cuz I’ve done it in literally every single survival world I’ve made where is that

Little portal I don’t remember where it is but I don’t know we’ll see what happens alright so here we are it looks like there’s lots of cool blocks around here I probably let’s actually take a few magma blocks in case we want to make some water elevators in the future I’ll

Probably come back here and mine this all out just because it looks kind of ugly or honestly we could make this our nether portal I’m not sure if you can make a portal out of crying obsidian and normal obsidian I thought it just had to be made out of normal obsidian but this

Might work so now what I’m gonna do is I’m just gonna spend a little bit of time gathering some wood and then hopefully we can make ourselves a pretty nice starter house okay so I was just trying to mind some dark oak wood but looks like we have a village here so I’m

Gonna I’m gonna raid this a little bit I mean maybe we can make our house near here I always make my house in villages I always transform villages that’s what I do in every let’s play so again I don’t know if I want to do the same

Thing I’ve been doing in the past or maybe I don’t know it’ll definitely be nice to have villagers nearby I was ringing the bells to see if we could possibly see if there were any eight fortresses nearby or strongholds rather but this is this is pretty cool there

Should hopefully be some chests that we can get some items so let’s see oh we have bread okay umm I’ll take the bread we need we need some sort of steady food source I can get all their hay blocks and oh okay good oh I can get their hay

Blocks and that’ll give us literally stacks and stacks of bread so that could be our food source for a while but I don’t know maybe maybe we can settle down in the village we have some peas too this is a nice place there’s also a huge ravine here with tons of iron let’s

Just get all the iron on the surface maybe you get ourselves some armor and then make a starter house because I was just gonna go right into making a starter house but you know I’m fine with this our inventory is also our inventory is really full we need to get some more

Room I collect a little bit of iron really fast so we can make some torches and smelt this iron but this is a great this honestly might be one of the best starts up at all oh I’ve had to a survival world I have found villages before that have given me some really

Good items in survival worlds but in terms of a survival world actually recorded for YouTube this is this is going pretty well I think this is a good sign for the series I think the series is gonna do well I think we will be be blessed by the

Minecraft gods so I’m feeling pretty confident let’s it’s almost nighttime who was guys if I could jump over that it’s almost nighttime I’m so dumb let’s see if we can find a place to sleep really faster just to skip the night smelt some iron and then we can

Get into our starter house so it seems like this village is relatively small I mean there were only a few houses we have a dog here let’s see if we can get a dog yes okay I just want to screenshot the little hearts yes we did it we got

Ourselves a dog if you guys have as always name suggestions for the dog let me know what I should name it if you’ve watched my previous Let’s Plays I usually always name my first dog Bjorn that’s just what I’ve named it but if you guys have other ideas for names let

Me know but let’s start let’s take over this house let’s start smelting and let’s sleep a little bit okay it’s morning I’m sorry I used your bed oh it looks like looks like a villager needs help let’s use our our dog powers also this is really nice because it looks

Like we have some cow farms already and why that’s nice is because we’ll need cow farms oh I’m sorry I’m sorry uh who needs some cow farms obviously for leather for an enchantment table but also it’ll be nice for food so I think we’re gonna do we’re gonna do pretty

Good for ourselves this pretty nice let’s grab this iron really fast we can definitely make a decent amount of armor so I’m really stoked about that but I think we should make our starter base somewhere around here I think it’ll look really nice and I think it’ll just be overall a good idea

Alright so let’s make some armor really fast to see how much iron 14 okay so definitely make a chest plate right off the bat we’ve got to do that and then let’s make her we could make a helmet let’s actually make hmm we have two left

Just for my starter house I’m gonna go with the classic Oakwood all by itself I’ll probably use some cobblestone or stone brick for the roof because that always looks really nice but definitely for a starter house I think Oakwood is the way to go I mean

The nice village in the background and what we’ll probably do in the future is eventually revamp this village make it look a little better you know what I mean I think that’s gonna be a great plan for this series so before we get started let’s just set up a little camp

A little base really fast so we can kind of get our thoughts sorted we have that let’s make one more chest a double chest will be useful just to kind of keep out all of our items in for now this is a mean look at this we have a music disc

We have gold and iron we have a clock which we don’t even need but it’s still nice to have i’ll put our bed down just so we have it pigs pigs are something i will kill for food because all all animal forms have two purposes for example chickens give feathers and a

Chicken cows give beef and leather sheep give a wool and mutton but cows cows just give pork not nothing wrong with it but you know it’s just a food source so I can kill him I don’t really mind to making pig farms I doubt they’re gonna add any new

Use for pigs in the future besides turning into pig lines which I definitely don’t want happening in my world so we can place that down to have any coal yes I do okay sweet so let’s go around together a little bit more wood and then get started on our house okay

So for this house people always yell at me for making the same starter house design so I think I’m gonna try to switch it up a little bit I always make a very like l-shaped starter house and the reason for that is because a lot of people just make their starter houses

Boxes and I think that’s rather boring I like to do something a little more unique so that’s why I make it a little bit of an l-shape but you know I’ve done that in every episode so I’m trying to make this you know survival let’s play a

Little different than the ones I and everyone else has done in the past so I think I have an idea let’s let’s start out with a box let’s go one two three four five six seven eight nine I think that’s a pretty good size and then one

Two three four five six seven nine by seven working in those kind of dimensions are always good working in fives 7s and 9s always work really well for starters how selective locks like that and then in the front here we can have this little entrance to our house

So we can have this nice little roof shape we’ll have this triangle in the front and a triangle in the back and I think it’ll look really cool so after that what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna replace all of the corners oh let’s make another axe I’m just gonna say I’m gonna

Replace all the corners with logs so we’ll need a decent amount of logs we will also have to do a little bit of cobblestone mining before we finish this house simply because I would like to make the roof out of cobblestone or stone brick would probably look even

Better it just depends if I get enough coal to be able to smelt it so let’s do this I’m not sure if I want to do the front corners of the house as well that that’ll be a I don’t know I’ll have to debate that in my head for a little bit

But we’re gonna have this design and then pretty much on the sides I’m just gonna do this so we’ll leave a little area for some windows I like a lot of natural light in my house especially since I’m recording this on April 17th and yesterday April 16th minecraft

Released the new RT X shader whatever the heck it’s it’s in beta right now so it’s not it’s not fully released to the public but it looks really cool and so I’ll probably do maybe some time lapses or stuff like that just with that new r-tx shader ray tracing pack because I think

It looks absolutely magnificent and people are definitely going to be using it in their minecraft worlds to uh spruce things up a little bit for black didn’t mean to make that pun but well we’re not using spruce wood but you you get it you get it so this is pretty much

The design for the house let’s check it out looking pretty good so far I think I’ll raise it up one block taller let’s just place the door oh yes the gold shovel let’s make the floor really fast I’ll just make it out of oak wood I’m not unique oh yeah that that

Broke fast all right it’s fine here let’s just fill it in a little bit so we can place our door really fast let’s place it the other way dawg you can just you can just chill in here for now I don’t want you hurting okay I’m trying

To make it to sit down yeah I don’t want you hurting yourself you’re the only thing I have in this world oh wait can I let’s give him a little collar light gray it blends in but I like it alright so there we have that I’m gonna

Raise it up one more block I think it’ll look better I want it to be a little bit of a taller house and then we will make this little triangle in the front out of cobblestone or stone brick and then we will make the rest of the roof do the

Same all right so I’ve done a little bit of mining and I also extended the house on either side out one block so now it’s 11 blocks just because I thought it looked really nice to have a window right there so I got a lot of really

Nice items when I was mining I went through another pickaxe and X however I got 19 more iron ore so we should be able to get ourselves a full set of armor and also some more iron tools and I’m also out here smelting of some stone so what I’m gonna

Do is experiment with some different roof designs using stone brick and ultimately see what looks the best alright so anyways here is the house and overall I’m pretty proud of it as you can see I did the little triangle thing with the roof like I was talking about

But it looked kind of odd because there was just a bunch of oak wood right here so I decided to put a window and then complemented by putting trapdoors all the way around to give it some shape as I’ve done with all the windows as you can see and I also use

Some of my extra iron to make myself some lanterns which I think look really cool so I just put some fence posts in the front and then I also put some of the windows on the side made them this little upside down T shape and overall I

Think it looks really good I don’t think it’s the best starter house I’ve ever built but for a new world I think it looks pretty good let’s actually let’s take one of these bells I wonder if I can turn it into a doorbell I’ve done that with houses before not that it
