Hello everyone I’m animus J and welcome to another minecraft video today we are going to be going over item streams how to move items using water how to move them up move them down and move them around corners Center them all kinds of different things so first I’ll do a Little bit of a showcase on everything that I have going on here and then we’ll go over each thing in a little bit of detail so you can understand what’s actually happening so first thing I’m going to do is I’m gonna take half a stack of this another wort block and We’ll get things going so firstly you’ll see that we have the item spinning out at an incredibly fast rate and that is a super fast dispensing system that I have come up with so we have it coming around it’s going up we have it all collected Right here let me just slap this button right here to move it on in suck down water elevator here we are going up a water elevator and we’re gonna come down around and then lastly we’re gonna land right here in the composter bang boom BAM alright let’s get into all of this so First things first is how to build this super fast item dispenser and it is indeed super fast because building it in just the traditional way without the extra stuff that I’ve done to it will not go as fast and I can demonstrate that for you right here by putting into 32 netherwart straight into this hopper right here and you can hear how its kind of dud like that alright however if I put stuff into the top chest and utilize both of the hoppers you can see that it’s spitting out a whole lot faster twice as fast pretty much now that’s not Just because of the hoppers that it is partially because of the hoppers but it is also because of the way that I have the redstone ticking so in the lesson on how to comparators work I did go over a basic system of how item dispensers work and just to see how the base Level of one works it’s quite slow especially when compared to the one that I made and so how to build this super fast one is actually pretty easy it’s not very complicated at all so a first thing you’re gonna do is you’re going to grab a dropper and make sure that it is In fact a dropper and not a dispenser the reason for that if you don’t know the difference I’ll go ahead and show you right now is that a dropper will simply drop the item if it’s a dispenser though you can see that it actually shoots the arrow and obviously that’s Not ideal for keeping our arrows around all right so directly behind your dropper you are going to put a comparator now mind you I always use a gray wool I prefer to use gray wool in order to put any kind of redstone object on that way I know not to ever break That block because it has redstone on it be careful using wool though because if you have any kind of lava in your build it will catch on fire but I do recognize I do recommend having a unique block in order to identify what is redstone and What is not so you’re gonna put that comparator into a block and let me go ahead and take these arrows out you’re going to on either side have a redstone torch drop it down by two blocks and you’re going to put redstone make sure your redstone is illuminated then you’re Going to carry it out to a third block like so so it should be running right next to your dropper then what you’re gonna do is come around to the other side go ahead and break out this block and what you’re gonna do is put a redstone torch on the bottom block that Is underneath your dropper all the way down just like that and then one next to it so you should have your torch here and then no torch on that one and then for these two blocks that have redstone you should have redstone torches now what that’s going to do is create a Super fast clock that will cause burn out torches double burn out torches that will never stop and that’s what creates the super fan speed now in order to make this faster than what you saw right there what you need is you need a hopper going into the Side up or going into the top and then we have to feed both of those at the same time the best way to do that is add another hopper right here and then put a chest across the top doing that will feed both hoppers simultaneously because The speed of this is actually limited by the speed of the hopper the torches are able to spit things out of the dropper faster than the hopper is able to feed them so by having to hoppers feeding into one dropper you are able to spit them out even faster so let’s get into Every aspect of what’s going on here firstly after your item dropper what you’re gonna want to do is have it going directly into a water source and you want to make sure that you have a block of some sort directly above that water source otherwise your item dropper it Will sometimes split things in erratic ways that will cause it not to go in the direction that you necessarily want it to and then let’s talk about the ice I am using blue ice but in regards to the speed of the items both a blue ice and Packed ice will travel the items at the same speed from what I understand normal ice is just slightly slower than what blue ice and packed ice will give you however if you have a light source or you’re in a warm biome your ice will eventually melt whereas packed ice and Blue ice will not using a normal block like so will actually cause your items to not travel as fast as you can see and then a soul sand will slow your items down a whole lot and then from my understanding if you have ice underneath The sole sand it will slow it down even more so my recommendation is to use a packed ice because it is cheaper than blue ice but travels at the same very fast speed so as far as your item stream goes your water will travel for 8 blocks 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and 8 and then it will run out we need to be able to keep it going so what we need to do is we need to separate the next water source from the first one otherwise they will just merge like so and your items Get stuck in the middle rather than traveling the direction you want them to so you have a variety of options that you can use in order to do this you can use a trapdoor which is what I previously had and you can also use a Top half slab what that will do is allow the items to travel right underneath and then continue on if you’re in a bedrock addition you can use a button which I highly recommend because it only costs one single piece of wood in order to make buttons whereas other things like Signs cost more but they do work and your items will not get caught on the hitbox of the sign because it is a non collision item and you can also use pressure plates your items will flow right above it one saying with pressure plates is that it will activate redstone So if you have redstone in the area you can either use your item in order to trigger your redstone or otherwise you need to be careful because it may trigger it unintentionally one thing I do not recommend using is the scaffolding block although it does stop The water it will from time to time catch your items on the edge I’m not getting it to catch right now but during my testing I was able to get it to do it so then in going around the corner you can either allow your water stream to Travel around the corner like so and then just catch up the rest of it moving on accordingly or you can always just end your item stream just before the corner and then get another source water block to get it moving in the appropriate direction by having a corner In your item stream you will see that your item becomes aligned to whichever opposite side you’re turning in this case we turned to the right and so our item went up against the left side wall and that is important for the next thing over here as far as moving items up we Can use a bubble elevator column in order to do that all you need to do is stop your water one block before your column like I’ve done right here and then you have a source and one block down make your protective column going up at a water source at the top Make sure that you have water sources going all the way down and it will create your bubble column items in the bubble column will flow all the way up very rapidly and make sure that you have a roof over the top in order to prevent items from spitting up all over the Place because they will land in every random direction now coming over to here you can actually filter out items as they are traveling so in this case we are going to left align the items by turning to the right as I mentioned before and you can see that these Another wart blocks are just continuing on all the way to the end but if I throw this a scaffolding block in there you can see it disappeared when it got to this enter chest and that is because underneath this end chest I have a hopper that is full of scaffolding I Have another one over here that is full of ladders and what you can do is you can have item filters underneath these two hoppers in order to filter out certain items and either collect them or stop them from being collected the reason that this works is because the End chest is a smaller hitbox then what a full-size block is and the same with cake keep in mind if you’re going to do this though that you do need to use these items for the rest of the direction that you’re traveling for example if I were to replace this corner With a full piece of glass then what’s going to happen is when the items get to there they will get hung up on that block so if you’re going to use n chess or cake you have to use them for that entire wall otherwise your items will Get caught now coming around the corner right here I’m going to stop my items using iron bars and what that does is it prevents the items from traveling too far when they drop down using gravity if you’re just using a gravity drop of some kind rather than a downward water Elevator which we’re going to cover in just a second if I did not have this iron bar here what would happen is my items would drop down and they would shoot off in all kinds of crazy directions it would be completely random dependent on the speed having the iron bar here ensures that They only travel so far before falling down now what I have here is a collective area and this collective area allows items to build up into stacks before they move on I’ve put a piston here and I just have a button but you would want to probably hook this up to Some kind of a clock to fire every so often and the reason you might want to do this is if you are using an item stream in order to filter into some kind of a furnace array if you’re filtering into some kind of a furnace array you Wouldn’t want all of your items to come in individually because that would be a waste of fuel instead you would want them to come in in stacks but you can actually avoid having to do that in general if you build my smart minecart loading and unloading system now I’ve Paused it by placing it intentionally high up on the tracks but what this does is it loads up a minecart and the minecart will not move on until it is completely full it will sit in this docking bay until it is completely full once it is full it will send on and then Here is a unloading system that will unload it and it will not return the cart until it’s completely unloaded now you probably wouldn’t want to use both of these in the same system maybe you do but in any case if you want to check out the video on that there’s a video link Popping up in the top right hand corner right now so let’s go ahead and move on our items from here we’re going to go down a water stream using a magma block at the bottom similar to the upward items stream and what this is is just a Source block at the top make sure you’ve isolated your water sources just like usual and then down at the bottom you actually don’t need any kind of isolation you can just use the bottom water source in order to move the items on to the next Area as you can see right here let me go ahead and do that again with another warp block so you can actually see it there you go then we’re going into another word item elevator just to get it high up here so I can demonstrate a stair Block what a stair block will do is it will actually stop the block or the item rather from getting too far to being left aligned as we are doing before it’ll bump against that edge and it’ll be almost Center aligned before it moves on and that’s in case you need items to Be completely centered before doing something now that one didn’t do it because I am I threw it right in but if we start from down here so if I throw an item way back here and allow it to go in the water stream the way that it was Meant to you’ll see that as we come up we’re going to bump against that edge and it’s relatively centered from left to right then what I have here is another iron bar that’s going to Center it from front to back and what that enables us to do is drop our items Precisely into this composter so if I were to throw a ton of items into our system and just allow them to fire you’re gonna see that once they get to the end let me just get the sign out of the way here they will all fall into That composter if I did not have this iron bar here or if I wasn’t using the stair in order to Center them they would not fall into the composter they would fall all over the place some on the lips I’m not even in it and some of them Would fall into it let me move them on right here coming down shooting up they’re going to get centered by the stair block moving on centered by the rail and directly into the composter so in doing the stair block all you got to do is a place down A stair block and then waterlog it like so make sure that your stair block is one block down from your item stream so that your items fall into the little gap in this stair now another thing that you can do but it’s not as consistent in Order to group your items is use a cobweb so items that get sent in close proximity to each other but still a little bit spaced out will group to each other inside of the cobweb so even though those were all very spaced out if I even send another one right now before It gets all the way through the cobweb it will join up with the other items because it’s within the same block space so that is one way you can join items together however it’s still not extremely proficient in making large stacks of items one more thing I want to Cover is that if you have your item stream going into a cactus the cactus will delete your items for you it will remove them forever and so if you have already taken all of the things out of your item stream that you need to collect and you just need to get rid of All the extras say armor from a skeleton farm or rotten flesh from a zombie farm anything like that you can just put a cactus at the end of it and it will get rid of all of your extra items without getting a lot of fill up in your chest That you need to get rid of or a lot of lag from items just sitting there well that is it for this tutorial guys I hope that it helps you out and if you enjoyed it make sure to hit that like button if you haven’t
