Hello everybody my name is marlo and today i’m going to be showing you how to build this large mountain house which is perfect for a survival world as on the inside there is pretty much everything that you could need but also it retains that nice interior look It’s also going to be great for 1.17 the caves and cliffs update which at the current time of recording isn’t fully released yet but of course the mountain biome is getting a complete overhaul so if you’re looking to set up there this might just be the house for you As always with my tutorials here is a complete list of all of the items we are going to be using today and i’ve tried to lay it out in a somewhat organized manner so over on the left hand side here we have all of the dark oak Variants we’re going to be using just to the side of it we have all of these spruce and then at the top here the final wood type is going to be oak these 23 by the way are these strip toke logs that have the same texture on All six sides and you get them by crafting four of these together just below it here we have some bricks and white terracotta as the other main building blocks and then the miscellaneous building blocks on the line below it these five along here are also what we’re going to be needing to actually Create the house but the final ones in the chest here are just all of the blocks that are going to be going on the inside that don’t really provide any function but just make the interior look a little bit nicer so if you can’t grab your hands on any of this It’s not really that big a deal but if you can then that’s great and of course you’re going to need something to go in your item frames on display some flowers scale in your flower pots and on top of your grass and then also some armor to go on the Armor stand and then finally all of the blocks in the inventory down here is just everything that is going to be helpful in survival something that is worth mentioning real quick is you may need more or even less of the dark oak logs but it’s always just good to grab A little bit extra of everything you can see here in case you run out while building or lose some blocks in the process as far as location is concerned as long as you’re in a mountain biome and you have roughly an 11 by 14 area you really should be good it doesn’t Actually matter too much if you don’t have even terrain because the added bonus of this build is that it’s actually on stilts which is what we’re gonna place down to begin with so my house is gonna roughly be going in this area here and we can place down our first stilts Right here then leave a gap of one two three four five six seven eight nine and as you can see on the tenth block there we actually go up by a block but that doesn’t matter at all and then we’re gonna leave nine again just right there and then you guessed it We’re gonna have another nine gap which then lines up with the first pillar that we place down now we do want all of these to be an equal level so i’m just gonna have mine being three high still so that can be two blocks that can just be one This can be two and then that can be one so as you can see they’re all on the same level to begin with and then what we can do is just have some horizontal logs going all the way around connecting from one still to the next so that we eventually end up with Something like this now obviously if you want yours to be a bit taller then just have higher stilts but that is about as big as i want to go the next step is to bring each of these corner blocks up by one two three four and five more And once you’ve got that done we’re actually then going to grab our strip dark oak logs which is going to be the floor for the inside on the bottom level now this may seem a bit strange but it’s actually going to help us out just as a platform to stand on to help With building so it doesn’t really matter how you place all of this down you can have them all facing the same way but i think i’m gonna do something a bit different here and have the first row all facing this way and then change out and have them facing this way And then just repeat that pattern all the way to the other side Now what we can do is grab some spruce trap doors and actually come underneath the house here and on all of these horizontal pillars we’re just gonna have a spruce trap door underneath them so that you have this nice trim going all the way around on all four sides And now what we can do is start work on the deck out the front so we’re gonna grab our dark oak logs again and come to the front of the house and to one of the corner pillars here and leave a gap of two and then place another one here And just bring that all the way up until we reach wherever our horizontal logs are and then go up by one more so in my case i need four there but you might have more or even less and then of course you want to do the same On the other side so leave a gap of two this is actually going to be a very short one right here and only two pillars we may even want to just place a stone block in front there to make that look a little bit better and then we’re going to come to this Side leave another gap of two and then bring them up to the same level same again over here we’ll actually break that block and think in and do that instead and then what we’re gonna do is come to the top part of this block here and just fill all of this in With oak slabs going all the way around and just make sure you cover all of the blocks i’m doing here until you get something that looks like this on top of all of these pillows here we’re gonna have a dark oak slab and then we just want to Place some dark oak fences going in between these four gaps and now we can grab our oak stairs and actually place three upside down here just in between those pillars and out the front we’re going to have a regular stair and then bend the two round to the side now however Far you take down the staircase will really depend on how high your stilts are but we just want to kind of repeat that process all the way down until you reach wherever the ground level is not forgetting to have the upside down ones after each level so you get something That looks like this out the front now that we’ve got our deck in place we can start work on the main roof and we’re going to begin by doing the outline with our dark oak wood so come to the front of the house here and on The top part of both of these pillows have an upside down stair facing forwards with a regular one coming out of the side of it just like that and then pretty much we just want to have a regular stair with an upside down one and repeat that Pattern on both sides until they reach in the middle and then once you’ve got that all staircased up to the center our middle block here can be an upside down one just like that which you can then copy this round to the back of the house as well Once we have both of those in place we can then have a line of dark oak slabs going one over on each of the side by going all the way across from one peak to the other and then also while we’re up here we can just place a chain with a lantern Hanging down on both of the two sides here and then the two sides that we haven’t done we’re actually gonna just have a line of dark oak stairs going all the way across nothing really that fancy with it other than underneath each of them every other block we’re gonna have a Darko trapdoor which looks a little bit different for me this is a custom texture that i’ve made but yours will look virtually the same so we can do that around this side as well once you’ve got all of that done we can then go around to the left-hand side Of the build here and just do a little add-on to the roof that is going to be put in place soon so we’re gonna go from this block right here one two blocks and then put a temporary one here with a dark oak log above it and then go up by one Two more do the same on this side to leave a gap of two temporary block one two and three so we have this section in the middle that is three wide and then we just wanna make a miniature archway with an upside down stair here on both sides with a regular one coming Out the back and then just do what we’ve done for the front and the back of the build here and just staircase our way up until they meet in the middle eventually where we can have an upside down stair here so we should be looking like this for the moment We can then grab our dark oak slabs and just overhang it by one and add in a chain right there and then just very quickly bring the slabs all the way over and connect to this middle section right here what we then want to do is grab Our strip spruce logs here and once again have a temporary block underneath with just a line of four going all the way up on both of these two sides here and then come round to the front a spruce stair at the bottom a spruce there upside down At the top with two oak fences here so that right there is just a miniature window that is going to make this roof look a bit more interesting we can now go ahead and fill the rest of this in which some of you may be able to do Without any further instruction but just in case you need a helping hand here’s how to do it so grab your spruce stairs and on this bottom level here we’re just gonna have three going over until we’ve reached the dark oak logs and then do the same On the top level and now what we’re gonna do from each of these dark oak stairs on the bottom one we’re gonna go one two and then three across on the second one we’ll go one two three and four across and the top one is gonna be five All the way across to the slabs here and then what we can do on these stairs is just go one two and you can see it will connect to the corner block right there three on the next level and then four on the top level here And as you can see that is all filled in very nicely we’ll sort out that hole when we do the interior but we can then copy this round to the other side as Well so that right there is the left hand roof all done we can now swing round to the right hand side where we’re going to come up to this top level here on the slabs and go across one two three four and on the fifth one here Go out by one two three four in this direction on this far one we’re gonna have a lantern but on the one just behind it an upside down dark oak stair and we’re basically gonna make another one of these windows but a little bit smaller and in reverse per se we’re going Downwards instead of upwards but two stairs either side of the upside down one with two dark oak logs underneath that with a spruce button on those two blocks right there we can then have a spruce stair in the center and an oak trap door right there now we Can go about filling the rest of this in so on the bottom two lines here we’re just gonna have stairs going all the way across And then for the rest of the build we’re just gonna have a stair here and then more stairs going across and you can probably see where i’m going with this one because we’re virtually gonna do the same thing all the way around until we get up to The top level here so on this side we’re gonna have all of those stairs but until we reach this point we’re actually gonna curve them round and connect up with the dark oak one again we’ll sort out this gap when we do the interior but we just wanna have a stair here And then one two and then three to connect up to the dark oaks there so that right there with the exception of a chimney which is what we’re gonna build now is the roof all done so to go about building this chimney we need to come to This corner spruce stair here and go in by one two and three blocks and then get rid of the two above it and the two to the left so that right there is going to be the position of our chimney which will be eventually connected to a fireplace when we do the interior But we’re gonna have two full brick blocks there with two behind it and now what we can do on this corner block bring it up by one and on the one just behind it bring it up by two and put a stair on top of both of those facing forwards towards this Little window and then all of these can be brought up by one two three and then four more blocks so it eventually looks like this where on top of those two blocks we can have two campfires and just surround them with spruce trap doors just to make a nice finishing topper To our chimney do make sure you place them actually on the campfire though so that they bend upwards instead of flicking down and that right there is now the roof all done now we can start work on all four of the sides and we’re going to begin here At the front of the house so what we want to do is start off with our dark oak logs coming to this top pillar point here and having them go horizontally all the way across from one side to the other we can then come to the very center here Where our doorway is going to go and have a log either side and just connect that to the horizontal beam going across the top we can then grab our dark oak slabs and have one two three on either side with a upside down dark oak stair on those two blocks just To cover up the transition from horizontal to vertical and then another slab in the center what we can then do is grab our white terracotta and have one block on the outside here two dark oak logs next to it and then three white terracotta just like so and then one Two three and four dark oak logs going all the way up on both of the sides leaving us with this middle section here to make a nice little window so spruce stair at the bottom spruce stair upside down at the top and then oak fences in the middle As i said in this middle section we are going to have our doorway but you may want to just go ahead and replace this dark oak log with an oak slab like so and then we can go ahead and place a spruce door at the back of that block Just makes a bit of a nicer transition i think and then what we can do is have an upside down spruce stair above it and actually come into the inside of the build and have your oak trap door flipped outwards so that it’s level with The face of the front of the house here and now what we can do is grab some grass blocks and if you don’t have soap touch to get grass blocks dirt or coarser it would be absolutely fine as long as you can place a flower on it You should be good but we’re going to cover it up with trapdoors just to make a nice little flower bed where of course we are going to need some flowers just one on each on either side is going to be fine for now next to those flowers we’re going to Have two spruce fences on either side with a stair just above it and a slab in the center we can then actually come inside for this next step which is where the floor comes in handy and we’re going to have one two three and four stripped oak logs on both of the two Sides and then we’re gonna make use of our oak log that has the same texture on all six sides so we can have that one there two glass panes and another stripped oak wood is the technical name for it so it looks like this from the inside And if i just quickly show you what it looks like if you were to use only stripped oak logs and maybe have them horizontally on the top and bottom i would say it just looks a little bit nicer doing it that way hence why i’m using this variant of the Wood but as you can see once you’ve got all that done and then we just want to make sure we add in our spruce fences and slabs and stairs on the top level that right there is the front of the house all done moving on around to the back of the Build here we’re going to do a very similar thing to what we have at the front and start off with a horizontal dark oak log beam going across from one side to the other we can then come to the bottom level here and leave a gap of one and then Have four dark oak logs same again on this side too and then we want to grab our dark oak slabs and have a slab then change to an upside down stair same again on this side and then just have flight five slabs in the center So it looks like this at the moment we can then once again copy the front and get our white terracotta and have one on either side two dark oak logs next to it and then three white terracotta and then once again four darko clogs leaving this gap in the Center where we’re gonna do a very similar thing so spruce stair at the bottom spruce there at the top but instead of oak fences we’re gonna have some oak trap doors just to change it up a little bit and then we’re also gonna place some spruce trap doors on these spots right here Just to make some shutters on the bottom section here on the one wide area we’re gonna have a stripped oak logs back by one block going all the way up on both of these two sides and on the five wide section once again back a single block on both Of the two sides here we’ll have four strip toke logs and then switch over to our stripped oak wood and have three across the bottom three glass panes with three more on top for this six block window and then we’re just gonna have some more stripped oak wood going all the way Across the top here we can then switch over to our spruce fences and have four of them on each of the side here and then we’re gonna have a one two three grass blocks in the center cover them up with spruce trap doors have an upside down spruce stair on each Of the two sides so that it looks like this and then change over to our spruce fences and have two on top of each of these stairs here two stairs at the top upside down with three slabs in the center and of course we’re gonna need some Flowers to go on our flower bed so that right there is the back of the house all done we’re now going to come round to the right hand side the one with the chimney and we’re going to start off by coming to the very center here and having two Dark oak logs either side of that middle block we can then bring those up by three more coming all the way up to the dark oak stairs above and then we want a spruce stair upside down on this top block with one two three spruce trap doors flicked upwards like so What we then want to do is just make some windows on these two spots so we’re gonna have a stripped oak wood next to this log here two glass panes and then another strip took wood on top with three stripped oak logs just to the Side of it and then of course we can very quickly do the same thing over here and then finally one two three four oak logs so we should be looking like this instead of making these windows look completely identical we’re gonna ever so slightly change it up So over on the left hand window here at the top here we’re gonna have three spruce slabs going all the way across and then two spruce trap doors as some shutters on either side and then we’re just gonna have an oak stair upside down in the center And two oak slabs either side and just stick a lantern right there in front also that will provide some light to the inside which will be very helpful and what we can do for the right hand side over here is have a slab in the center with two upside down stairs either side Two spruce fences just below it with an oak stair here an oak stair here and then a slab in the center and then real quick instead of a lantern we can just put a flower pot there and for the final side round here we’re gonna start off by coming to this left Hand pillar and leaving a gap of one two three and on the fourth one we’re gonna have four dark oak logs going all the way up and then once again we need to make another one of our little windows so striptope logs on the side strip toke wood Two glass panes and then another stripped wood block right there this one is gonna be a little bigger and actually the same as what we have around the back so three stripped wood on the bottom three glass panes with another three on top like so and then some more stripped wood And then finally strip toke logs here on this final section so we should have a small window and then a slightly larger one as for detailing them we’re going to start off with the smaller section here and begin by placing an upside down oak stair at the bottom in the center and two Slabs either side this one can actually have a flower pot on top but we’re gonna have three slabs along the top spruce that is and then two spruce trap doors on either side here just as some more shutters and then the bigger section as i said is Completely the same to what we have around the back so we need our three wide flower bed that is covered up by spruce trap doors switch over to your spruce stairs and have two upside down facing outwards on either side then two spruce fences on top of both of those Two upside down spruce stairs and then three slabs in the center and of course we need to fill in our flower bed so that right there is the exterior of this build all done we’re now ready to head inside and do some work on the interior This house is going to have two floors an upstairs and a downstairs and thankfully we’ve already got our floor in for the first floor here but we need to add in the ceiling so what we’re gonna do next to this wooden trapdoor is just have two upside down oak stairs And then basically just fill in the rest of the ceiling with oak slabs and of course make sure you get all of the little gaps like this in between the stripped oak wood and now what we’re going to do is come to this corner right here so The side left of the doorway and knock out one two three four and five of those slabs i believe and then we can have two stairs here with two stairs upside down just behind it and then we’re gonna have one two and then three stairs here which you may Actually need to just place some temporary blocks for so just do something like that and then this can actually be replaced with an upside down stair and then just staircase all the way down until you reach the bottom so that you have something that looks like this which will nicely lead you up To the second floor where the first thing we’re gonna do is come to the block just above our oak trap doors here and have a line of horizontal dark oak logs going all the way across from one side to the other and then also connect them to this Little section right here just so we have that nice beam at the top of the ceiling now we are going to smooth all of this out using some stairs in a second but before we do that grab some strip spruce logs and on the block just above this stripped oak log here We’re gonna have a line of horizontal strip spruce all along the floor and then we can do the same over on this side too and then at the front and the back we’re just gonna place these seven strip spruce logs down just to make this nice little rectangle Going all the way around the upstairs here next up grab your spruce stairs and spruce planks and face the side that has the staircase on so the first thing to do is come to the corner here and place in three spruce planks on either side And then just one two and three more on both of those so that right there smooths out a little bit and then we can do it even more with some spruce stairs so we got some upside down ones there as well as some ones just above it And then we’re just going to very simply having them uh face the log here just curve them round to the side and try not to fall down the staircase as you do this and go all the way down to the second floor but as you can see it should look like That and very quickly we can just do the same over on this side as well and if i just finish up here and take a step back you can see that it’s a lot smoother looking than what this side is which is what we’re going to work on now First things first we’re going to have a line of spruce planks just above our strip spruce logs and then we can go ahead and get rid of this brick block right here and then replace it with two spruce stairs and then just bring them all the way across we can also have some Upside down spruce stairs on those blocks right there and then very simply next to this oak trap door we’re gonna have two either side like so and then just make these spruce planks at the top and then last thing to do is just curve those around like so which nicely completes our ceiling Making it look a whole lot better than what it was before we shall return to the top level here right after we finish the first floor so what we’re gonna do to begin with is place down our enchanting setup so to begin with here we need six book Shelves along that wall right there and you need to pick one of these blocks to break it doesn’t really matter because they’re not going to be visible we just need 15 bookshelves in total so there’s 6 and then 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 and 15 Which will get us 30 levels on an enchanting table then we can have a chest here just make sure you’re holding shift there when you place it on the trapdoor otherwise it’s going to open like so so we can have a chest in the middle and then a grindstone and then an Anvil either side and finally just to make this look a little bit better have some spruce trap doors on top of those bookshelves under the staircase here we’re gonna make ourselves our smelting area that also has a little bit of extra storage so the first thing in The center of this window here we’re gonna have ourselves a chest and then just beside it two furnaces with a lantern on top of this one now if you’re placing all of the lanterns and lighting sources exactly where i am in this build you won’t have to worry about mob Spawning as eventually everything is gonna be above light level seven but now what we can do is just have a barrel next to the furnaces with another one up on this block right here you can fill that in if you want to but it’s not necessary as it’s hidden away Also put a spruce trap door on top of that block right there we’re then going to have a blast furnace with a smoker and another barrel in that spot right there with another trapdoor on top that right there is just a nice little corner to do some smelting and store some extra items Only a few more finishing details to go before we are done with the bottom floor here so we’re going to come around to the left hand side of our enchanting station and just make a little bit of a barrel stack and some extra storage in this gap so One facing upwards and one facing forwards and then just grab a spruce trap door and shove that on top like so so we’ve got some extra storage there if need be and then around the other side of the bookshelves we’re going to have a crafting table With a flower pot on top and then to the left of the doorway here we’re gonna have a spruce fence with a lantern just on top like so and then we’re gonna grab some spruce trap doors and make a couple of shelves here on the right hand side So we need to be facing this bottom block on the top here not on that spot right there we want it on the lower section and on that spot we can place an item frame with something inside i like to do a drip wire hook because it Kind of looks like a key for the front door and then because this is an item frame and an entity we can then place a trapdoor on the same block like so you wouldn’t be able to do that say if you had a flower pot here which is what we’re gonna have On that top level and that right there is the downstairs all done actually it’s not i forgot we have to add in a small little rug here so one block in front of this chest here leaving a gap we’re gonna have a gray carpet like that just diagonally and then switch over to Our cyan carpet and have two more like that just to fill in this open area as it felt a little bit empty but now what we’re gonna do is actually head up to the second level here and on this block just in front of our oak fences we’re gonna have a lantern And then coming over to where this oak trap door is we’re gonna have one chain with a lantern below it now what we’re gonna do is actually get rid of these five spruce logs here and this is why i say bring extra because sometimes you have to temporarily place it down And destroy it afterwards but this is where we’re gonna hide all of our crafting supplies so in the center we’re gonna have a stone cutter to the side of it a crafting table and a loom and then a cartography table and a smithing table now obviously you can Switch this up the order doesn’t really matter it’s entirely up to you you can even replace some of them with say a brewing stand if you maybe use that more than the cartography table but that doesn’t look very good in my opinion so we’re going to go ahead and cover up With some spruce trap doors that way it’s nice and hidden and looks a little bit better but can also be easily accessed as you can see now we’re going to come to the single brick block here and build a fireplace that will connect to the chimney in theory at least it’s not actually Going to but we can pretend so underneath this brick block we’re going to have an upside down brick stair with two stairs either side of it like so and then two full blocks underneath we can then go ahead and get rid of one two and three blocks and replace it with Brick blocks and then at the back here also just put one more on top of this log we’re gonna place a campfire which will not spread fire and burn down the whole house if you had an actual fire block here yes it would hence why we’re using the campfire and then just In front we’re gonna have an iron bar and now come to this section that we’ve not long built we’re going to have a flower pot over here and then on this side we’re going to have some sea pickles which you can also replace with candles If you’re in 1.17 this is kind of what i always used to use as candles but now we’re getting actual candle blocks in 1.17 so i’d recommend that instead if that happens to be the version you’re playing in and then finally over here just beneath the lantern we’ll have two more flower pots Of course we are going to need a place to sleep in this house so just in front of this flower pot here is where we’re going to have our bed of course it can be any color that’s entirely up to you but we just want to Stick a spruce trap door on the end of it there just next to our fireplace here we’re actually going to have a jukebox which if you don’t want to spend a diamond on making it then you don’t have to maybe just stick a chest there instead But in front of it and above it i guess i should say we’re going to have an item frame with our favorite music disc inside cat so we can jam out to that if we want to but not right now so then what we’re going to do in front of our fireplace here Just leave a gap of one and then place a dark oak fence here with a pressure plate on top and then two stairs either side of it and then we’re just gonna place some dark oak signs on the side of those chairs which is what we’re making here a nice Little table and chair to go in front of the fireplace where you can sit and eat and be nice and toasty every good survival home of course needs an area for storage now admittedly we do have various barrels and chests scattered about downstairs but it would be nice to have a little area To have some bulk storage which is what we’re gonna do here so in the two corners we’re gonna have a double chest with a single one above it and then also have a single one in the center here and then one two three barrels on either side That right there should be plenty for the size house we have here and then what we can also do is just stick an armor stand here in the corner now if you don’t want it directly in the center of this block you can actually push it around with a water Bucket or a fishing rod but i’m just gonna leave it there for now as i’m happy with it so we got our armor stand there with our storage on this side the very final thing to do is just one block away from the bottom of this bed Have a grey carpet here with one beside it and then one diagonally and then just three signed carpet like so which then completes the upstairs meaning the house is all done but there are some more things that you can actually build so i said this house had pretty much Everything you could need in survival and whilst that’s partially true there are some things that you do need that wouldn’t particularly go very well on the inside of a building such as a small crop farm over here or maybe even some animal pens which is why i’ve just placed It ever so slightly to the side of the house so you can still access it nice and easily but it’s not on the inside taking up loads of room and looking very weird and also something else that is very important for survival that you don’t want anywhere near your house Is a nether portal hence why i’ve just shoved it into the mountain up here i’m gonna be releasing a world download of this build that is available for my youtube members and twitch subscribers and it’s also gonna include a couple of other builds alongside this one the previous two tutorials i have done On my channel are also going to be in this world so just in front of the big house we’ve built is a hobbit hole that we built last week there is a tutorial on my channel as i said if you want to know how to build this for yourself you can go back And check it out and there is also the small mountain house starter base that we built a couple of weeks ago which is kind of very similar to what we have over here except on a much smaller scale and is perfect for a starter house same deal with that one Tutorial on the channel if you’re interested so that everybody is gonna do it for the video here i really hope you did enjoy watching and it helped you out if you were looking for a build like this and that you enjoy your new mountain base if you’ve chosen to build it Thank you so much for watching and i’ll see you next time bye for now Video Information
