Hey how’s it going everybody this is Ito and today guys it’s been a while since I did a tutorial but there was a lot of interest in this automatic potion brewing system I built recently so I’m going to show you how to build it block by block today and talk about a few Things with it this works with Minecraft versions one point seven nine and one point eight I tested it out and hopefully in the future as well we can only hope these are some of the things that you need to build it some building blocks basically and some stairs and Glass at this bottom row there’s a stick of a look around give you an idea of what we got to do here it’s got a built in item elevator an easy water bottle refilling station here it’s got an on-off switch it’s fully automatic it is also able to detect when it’s done Brewing so there’s no clocks or anything with it you got a selector panel for the different modifiers and it uses a cool trick with trailing nether warts to to work the way it does anyway let’s get into building it and then I’ll show you how it works afterwards alright guys so First off we’re going to build the faceplate to the thing and it’s 14 blocks wide so count that one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 there we go there’s going to be the on/off switch in the middle of this And then the brewing stand in the middle of this one make this go up four blocks though and count 6 2 3 4 5 6 connect it to the ground fill on the bottom that’s where the ingredients are going to go and then if you want to make it all nice and fancy You can build this up go up three stair stair stair like that use whatever building block you want quartz quartz is always a nice choice so for this kind of thing oh actually let’s do stair kind of frame in around it alright then this side you want a redstone lamp as an Indicator light when it runs out of water bottles make that go up and connect it to this good and then we are going to have for indicator lights in the middle of this levers below that some stairs for looks here and then some stairs here and here underneath these I Put a crafting table for making the glass bottles and also storage chests for holding the potions here okay so next we’re going to go around the back here and start hooking up those levers so let’s dig out underneath and we’re going to put a line of redstone underneath each of the levers this Redstone does not actually connect to anything it’s just to update these sticky pistons because they’re being powered diagonally and then we’re going to put blocks above those and then a block on each end here next let’s place our droppers which go one block above the lights make sure you use droppers Here don’t use dispensers dispensers we’ll just shoot the items all over the ground and you don’t want that then we’re going to put a hopper above this output chest for the brewing stands hold shift when you’re doing this by the way if you don’t know that that way you don’t Access inventory and then another hopper above that one more and then make a chain of hoppers going into that above these droppers which will carry the potion ingredients to the brewing stand okay now let’s set up some redstone for for these droppers basically a six wide thing the redstone goes like this and Then a bunch of repeaters oh I did that wrong actually goes like this you want a difference of one delay between each of these droppers okay so we’re going to stagger these that one’s at zero this one’s at one two three four and basically five on that last one so we need to Reason for that is because as having an issue where sometimes the potion ingredients were going out of order I even though this one’s in front of that one sometimes this one would shoot it’s its ingredient in the hopper and it would go to this hopper almost instantly before This one would even output its ingredient into that hopper so they would all get mixed up so I think having a delay of one fixes that issue or that glitch or whatever it is I’m not sure all right get some blocks here repeater dust and let’s see I just we got to have Our on/off switch out here as well let’s grab a lever okay I put a sign above that B so I wouldn’t get confused because it’s kind of reversed it goes what is it on and off so when it’s down it’s off okay so this part is really Important here we’re going to build the control system to the brewer above the brewing stand in this hopper we need to put some junk items that’s stacked in 64 I’m going to use cobblestone make sure it’s something that doesn’t that isn’t a brewing ingredient okay that’s that’s The main important thing and you need 22 items here make sure the first slot is free okay you can put whatever blocks you want beside the brewing stand so pick whatever looks good and then a comparator next to this this important hopper here this is going to send a Signal up to two blocks and then it’s going to go back down to this lower hopper this is what controls sending the bottles out when it’s done brewing get a repeater to pull the power and then a dust to the hopper there and then we’re going to have another branch off here Okay this is what goes to the potion ingredients and basically it connects like this and goes down the line to these droppers okay whenever it starts a new cycle so we’re just about done here we just need a way of filling the brewing stand with water bottles yet so Put a hopper into the side of it like that and then we’re going to have chests above this for storing the water bottles and this is how I did it but you can even do it however you want it’s really easy to add more storage if you want More especially with the type of item elevator we’re going to be building here so let’s let’s go over to the front and do that this is where I put it with this item elevator you need to use ice where I’m putting ice okay go over the front And then this needs to be a solid block not ice where the the back fence goes see let’s get some fences fences there you got to make sure this front fence does not connect here let’s get some glass does not connect to the blocks like this if we put glass there this one Doesn’t connect anything except this front fence this one you need to connect to something so make sure you use solid blocks where I put these and then it’s nice to use last just so you can see the items flowing through it and build up this plus sign however high you want it To be so with the way I did it I think I went up to just here yeah like this and then I used a pressure plate just to hold the water in place make sure it’s a stone one if you do this and I just deleted my water bucket the one thing I Needed all right put that there that’ll carry the water bottles into the hoppers here and the water bottle storage and then we need some water in the front like that and let’s try it out with a water bottle just to make sure it goes through you gotta throw it against the Side of the block like that there it goes goes into the hopper and into our our chests here flash it’ll go right into the brewing stand cool I did forget one thing in the front we will want some item frames item frames or you could use signs whatever you want For keeping track of what what goes in these droppers I don’t like to have an item frame here actually this is the one you interact with a lot so I like to go redstone then glowstone then gunpowder and fermented spider I is the fourth modifier and then finally the trailing Nether warts cool and I believe we are oh no no no no that we are not done I forgot about the the indicator light and the lockdown system in case it runs out of water bottles so the way I did that put a block above comparator into this Chest if this runs out of water bottles we want to tell the thing to lock down to shut off so get that there redstone torch oops get a couple blocks down there and I must have had a block above that so didn’t connect and then oops I Think a repeater here actually this goes down lower I’m pretty sure I’m going off of memory now which is bad I can’t send a signal through glass so you got to put a block there and there and then another repeater here and I think goes like this Yes that goes to the lock so if this is powered this wire here the whole thing shuts down it’ll just finish the batch it’s working on oops put that there redstone dust and then a torch to the indicator light so when this is off it means there’s no water Bottles there all right let’s get this go to game-mode 0 and load it up that should turn the light on pretty quick make sure it’s going up going up the item elevator good and this turned on so it has water bottles they filled up here there’s one thing you need to do the Very first time you use this thing let’s go back to game mode one you need to have another word placed into the brewing stand so you got to do this manually the very first time the thing is if you do that it goes into these water bottles it makes awkward potions So you can put you can put potions in this the very first time if you want or else just put another word wait for it to convert and then put another one in alright and there we go so it is complete I’m going to load this up with some Ingredients and we’ll try it out okay so this first dropper here this is what we use to decide what potions were brewing what you do you take your main potion ingredients let’s say we were making a speed potion we would throw that in here then we choose whatever modifiers we Want like if we want to extend it we would add redstone splash potion gunpowder to your tube for for glowstone this would turn it into a slowness potion let’s do an extended one all right we got our awkward potions in here still those will go right into this Chest normally start it up so let’s turn it on and then we get fresh water bottles oh yeah we can see what the next ingredient is in here just sugar and then redstone to extend it and then finally a trailing nether wart which will be used to start the next batch Okay and we can stop it at any time it will finish up the batch it’s working on if we do but we’re free to switch out to a new ingredient if we want let’s say we want to make invisibility potions take that out and swap it I prefer this way You can also do it this way here though like if you want to have a spot for each of the ingredients go ahead you can do it with the setup as well there are currently nine different base ingredients to potions in the game so that would add eight extra slots to The width of this thing because that one’s using one and if we add if we have nine 9 minus 1 is 8 that makes the 13 different types of potions that give you effects in the game and you would basically do the wiring like this set All the main things to one and then stagger it like we did before so 2 3 4 5 6 ok and run redstone under each of the ones with a lever and have a piston and yeah that’ll work out just fine too if if you prefer it that way They both have advantages and disadvantages that one might be more convenience possibly but it’s also more expensive it’s bigger I like this one a lot more and that’s why I’m showing you how to build this one mainly now there’s just a few more things I wanted to tell You about this thing I had some people ask what happens if you run out of your main ingredient here and it you leave it running basically it does this it’ll convert it into awkward potions right the next ingredient is going to be redstone because that was one of the Modifiers we had or else if we had no modifiers it would be nether words and basically since there is no main ingredient it just stops it’ll get stuck so it’ll stop brewing which is good if you need to fix that you would probably want to turn this off and then just take This out of here and get it set to nether word again you throw this back in here if you want and let’s say we put our main ingredient back in put that in then you’re good to start it up again it’s all good I also had people ask what Happens if you run out of nether warts so we’ll show you that turn this on should restart just fine wait what wait a second what’s in here nothing’s in there I turned it oh it’s out of water bottles duh one sec okay so we have water bottles again but we still have no Nether word in the system so if we start it up it’ll use the one that’s in there and then next up we have the sugar and then redstone but there’s no nether word at the end of that let’s see what happens okay so the red stones in there It switched up to new water bottles made mundane potions with those and now sugar and it’s stuck so it kind of got a little messy but it’s not too bad because we can just turn the system off right take this out take this out we need nether works let’s put another work Back in the system so you’d load it up and then put one piece in here and you’re good to go to start out again so it’s not too hard to fix it if it gets jammed up there is one other cool thing I want to tell you about this if you Want you can give it like a set of tasks to do like if you want to brew several potions that have the same modifiers you can for example make three extended sugar potions or speed potions three extended strength potions three fire resistance yes you can add some regen in There you can do a bunch of potions at once if they have the same modifiers throw them all in there right and it will randomly do them but it will do them all which is pretty cool weather why does it always have to rain when I’m doing my tutorials which is never Alright anyway that is it for the brewing system I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial it’s been a while since I made one of these so hopefully I wasn’t terrible and you liked it anyway thanks for watching guys I hope you enjoyed see you again next time if I if there is A next time bye-bye Video Information

In this Minecraft tutorial, I show you how to build my fully automatic potion brewing lab. This design uses a trick of having netherwart added last so that it is able to detect when it is done brewing instead of using some sort of clock to predict when it is done.
