G’day folks it’s cortezerino and today we’re going to be building my japanese courtyard base now this is a proper base it is completely spawn proof within the walls we’ve got enchanting rooms we’ve got villager trading and pens for animals but uh most of all the most important thing It looks pretty and by the end of this tutorial we will have marked out the entire boundary wall and built the gardens up the front so let’s get started to begin with you’re going to want to build a big rectangle that is 49 blocks by 77 and when you’re figuring out whereabouts You’re gonna place this in your world the front gate is going to be right about here and then you’ve got two back gates up the end and those are optional you could actually leave one or two of them out if you really wanted to and you’re going to be building This rectangle out of quartz bricks and quartz blocks so the pattern is we have three bricks and then a quartz block and that just continues all the way around so the way i’ve done it if you come to the front right hand corner you can put a quartz block There and then skip three and keep placing them all the way around there and at the corner it’s the same thing so one two three bricks and then a quartz block so once you’ve done that we’re going to add a second layer and this time the quartz blocks are going to be going There so on top of the middle of the three bricks and then they’ll just have three bricks in between and you just keep doing that all the way around okay next we’re gonna grab some red terracotta and just on top of our quartz we’re gonna run a long line of it All the way around our wall and then we’re gonna have an extra one poking up in the corners three dark oak fences and then another block and just continue that pattern all the way around the entire building and then we’re going to put a little wall In there so come along to the front wall and counting these blocks we’re going to start in the corner we’re going to go one two three and four and in line with the fourth one we’re just going to put a little doorway there so we can get in and out So now we’re gonna put in this wall so we’re just going to leave a one two three four five six seven eight nine block gap and i’m punching holes in my wall and once you’ve got your nine block gap we’re going to put in our wall right there so just two layers Of quartz starting with the quartz block right there and just continuing that pattern okay so now i want you to come all the way down to the very back wall i’m going to grab some blackstone bricks and then looking at these terracottas poking up we’re going to skip one two And then on the third we’re gonna place a blackstone brick on top with another one poking out toward the outside of the wall and we’re gonna do the same over here so not counting the corner one we’re gonna go one two three and then stick one out to the side Now the one directly on top of the fence we’re gonna add a blackstone brick slab on top and then in the corners we’re gonna put a brick there and one brick in toward the middle same thing up this end and then right on top of our wall we’re going to grab Some warped blanks and just run this all the way along to the other side and now we’re going to put in some stripped darker clogs so i’ve put it in on that side over there we’re going to do the same thing over here so on the blackstone brick That is closest toward the center we’re going to go one two three four five six logs and then get the stripped dark oak wood with the bark ending and we’ll put that on the end so placed seven logs in total and now i want you to grab some Blackstone brick slabs and we’re going to run a long line of them all the way along like this and just every now and then mix in the polished slab like that for a bit of extra detail so we’re going to start right here in the corner and we’re going to finish in the Same spot and then just like we did with the black stone mixing in the random block here and there grab some dark prismarine and just mix a few of them into our warped planks so now we’re going to place some buttons to stop the mobs from spawning so wherever you can on the Blackstone place a blackstone button wherever you can on the walked wood place a warped button okay so we are done with the back wall for the time being so don’t change anything there but what we’re going to do now is put the roof on the rest of our wall so this is Pretty easy we’ve just got a black stone brick directly above our fence with black stone brick slabs on each side and once again mixing in the occasional bit of polished black stone and what you do is where it connects right here you just put your bricks All the way along like so we’ll put the slabs on this side and then on this side we’re just going to finish the slabs where it meets the wood but go ahead and continue that all the way around until we get to that side okay so you should be looking something like this With the roof running all the way around so now come along to this small wall we’ve got inside and i want you to run a line of red terracotta all the way along and then we’re going to do the same thing with the fences so where it joins Here we’re going to start with one two three dark oak fences and then your block and then just keep placing three fences and your red terracotta all right so we’re going to walk inside this front door we made and come along to the right hand side and we’re looking at these Blocks of terracotta that are sticking up in the air so we’re going to skip the first one and then in line with the second one we’re going to grab quartz bricks and go one two and then the third one will be a quartz block And then on top of that just go one two three quartz bricks now continuing along we’re gonna skip the next terracotta but on the next one we’re going to do that again so two bricks and then a block and then one two three bricks on top and we’ll do this one more Time but this time we’re gonna skip three of these terracotta blocks so one two three and then on the fourth we’re going to do that same pattern again so we’ve made those three little walls on the other side directly in line with these guys we are going to do The exact same thing like that so go ahead and do that for these two as well okay so now we’re going to build up the wall a little bit more and make a little sort of archway and the way to do that on all three of these is to put some Red terracotta on top like that and then just a line of red terracotta all the way along like so so do that for all three and now we’re going to start putting a roof on these so if we’re looking from the front here we’ve got this little box on the right Hand side what we’re going to do is just put a line of black stone bricks around our little square and of course as you’re doing that mix in the occasional polished one so you should be looking like that and what you do is where they join up here Just add an extra slab on top of that slab like so and we’ll do the same over here now that little box there has black stone but the rest of this we are going to be using our warped blanks so just run these along of course mixing in The occasional dark prismarine and when you get to the edges here do what we did before and just add an extra slab of black stone to connect it but go ahead and just using your warped blanks fill in the rest of this all right so we’ve placed A lot of roofing that needs to be spawn proofed so grab your buttons again and on top of every bit of black stone where you’re able to place a black stone button and do the same thing on top of every warped wood okay once your buttons are done come along to This room here in the front right hand corner and what we’re gonna do inside this room we’re just going to knock out these black stone brick slabs that are running around the side just like that now looking toward the back wall we’re going to grab polished black stone bricks and we’re Going to put them upside down across the wall and then looking toward the front we’re going to do the same thing here just upside down stairs and then we’re done with that little room so now what we’re going to do is grab our warped slabs and we’re going to be putting them Along the sides like this and just along here just continue with the warped slabs like so so go ahead run these all the way across i’m not mixing in the uh the dark prismarine at the moment but you should be doing that as you’re placing them And then on the insides here do the same thing just everywhere where we’ve got some of this warped wood just run our slabs all the way around including on top of these arches so when you’re done you should be looking like this guys so once again like we ran these slabs along there We’re also going to run them along the edge of that black stone and there’s the aerial view if you want to double check you’ve done it correctly so now we’re going to start putting in our gates now for the gates you’re going to need to bring up my japanese gate Tutorial and you’ll find that in the video description so just click on that and it will show you how to build these gates and in the description of that video there are some time stamps so you can find the gates quickly so the first one is gate number one so where we’ve marked Out our little front door here we’re just going to knock out the blocks on either side of that and just keep knocking them out all the way to the top like so and that’s where your gates gonna go so go to that tutorial and build gate number one and once you’ve done that Come to the inside here turn left into this big room and then we’re going to build gate number two right here so right in the middle of this wall knock out some blocks there and then knock out three on each side so one two three one two three and then just Remove that entire area and build gate number two okay so this is how you should be looking guys with gate number one right there and gate number two right here so now we’re going to build gate number three and we’re going to build it twice up the back Like this so to find the spots for it come all the way to the back wall here and what we’re going to do is just counting these bits of terracotta sticking up so starting in the corner one two three four and when we get to the fourth we’re just going to Knock out the area between the fourth one and the fifth one just like that and that is where gate number three goes in the exact same spot on the far wall knock out that as well so we’ve got matching gates on each side okay now that our gates are up you’re Going to go to another tutorial to build my meditation garden now in that tutorial i show how to build the walls but you can that bit completely because you’ve already built the walls and the walls in the tutorial are a little bit different to this one so I’ll put a link in the description for the meditation garden and i’ll link it to the part of the video where you’re going to start building so just build the interior and don’t worry about anything to do with the walls okay so once your garden’s in i want you to come to this Rectangular space in the middle here and we’re going to build a path and some bushes so what i want you to do is where we’ve got our gate here we’re just going to replace three blocks coming out here with stone and then turn the corner and run your stone All the way to the edge like so and the same on this side so that is how you should be looking and then just next to this doorway here we’re going to knock out all the blocks along here and replace them with stone as well okay now that’s done I want you to grab some spruce slabs and just on top of the stone where it turns the corner we’re going to place them like that and then we’re going to grab the campfires and looking from this direction we’ll put four there and then looking from this direction we’ll put two And then you can put them all out and do the exact same thing on that side and then for this long line it’s pretty easy it’s just campfires all the way along okay so now that’s done we’re going to add some hidden lighting and i’m using sea lens here but You could use jacqueline’s or anything you want you’re never going to see them so come along to this long line of campfires we’ve got here and on the block behind them we’re going to dig three blocks deep i’m in a flat world that’s why you can see uh The bedrock there but then you can put a line of your light block all the way along and then just on top of that we’re going to put some green carpet and we’re just doing this so we’ll get the light from it but you will not be able to see it At all so right here where we’ve got the two dirt blocks under the wall we’re going to replace them with green terracotta and we will do the same thing up this end green terracotta in there and then just on the block underneath this grass block we’re going to run our terracotta all The way along like so and then just underneath our stone we will do the same thing here green terracotta and this is just so when we place our leaf blocks on top you don’t see anything nasty down there so now just on top of the carpet put in some Jungle leaves okay so once you’ve done that we’re going to do the same sort of thing in this space up here so i’ve done that one i’ll show you this one so just behind our campfires we’re going to be digging three blocks deep like that and then we’ll put Our light blocks down the bottom and you probably know what to do from here green carpet on top on the bits of dirt underneath the wall we’re going to put two green terracotta and then we’re going to replace those with green terracotta as well and same thing right here the dirt blocks underneath Our grass and then once you’ve done that put your jungle leaves on top now in all of these spaces what we’re gonna do is just add jungle leaves like so and the same over here and we’re just going to need a tiny bit more light in here to stop the mobs From spawning so right there i’m going to put a sealant in the ground with some light gray carpet on top and that won’t look so unusual once we put our path in so next we’re going to grab some polished diorite slabs and just put them along In between the two sides of our archway and then we’re going to start digging out some grass so starting right there we’re just going to remove all the grass inside of our path just like that guys so now to do your path we’re just going to randomly place A mixture of blocks so those blocks will be a polished diorite the smooth stone and just the occasional cobblestone and then once you’ve done that you can fill in everything in between with stone blocks now you could do this absolutely randomly if you like but if you want to copy mine Then you can just pause the video right here and copy that okay so now we’re going to turn our attention to this room just inside our front gate so you can see along the back wall there i’ve dug down three blocks deep and what we’re gonna do Is just do the same sort of bushes as we did before so all along here we’re going to now need to knock out two dirt blocks underneath our wall and we’ll put in our green terracotta and just because of the angle we’re going to be looking at this all the time You won’t need to knock out and replace the dirt underneath our grass right there so that’s all you need to do we’ll put our green carpet on top and then we’ll put jungle leaves on top of that and then another layer of jungle leaves right there now grab some jungle trapdoors and Placing them against the top of the leaf we’re just going to flick them down like so now turn to either side and look at our little archway here grab an acacia log and on each side of our little doorway we’re going to put the logs right there With flower pots on top dead bushes in the flowers and then above the dead bushes oak leaves so we’re doing some little bonsai trees there so turn toward the other side and do the exact same thing okay so just like we did in here we’re going to do another little path In here so first thing to do is we’ve got these lanterns sitting on walls underneath that one i’m going to put in some smooth stone underneath that one i’ll just put in a regular stone and then we’re going to start right here in the doorway just knock out Those blocks and then continue to knock out all the grass in here and for the path in this area we’re going to do the exact same path design that we did in there so you can do it completely randomly or you can just pause the video right here and copy Mine and you’ll also notice that one bit of gray carpet the light gray carpet right here will need another light block underneath okay so now we’re going to put some doors inside of all three of these little archways so come along to this room with the big gate in it Looking toward the meditation garden we’re going to put three upside down acacia stairs then two trapdoors on the bottom flick them up and then against the bottom of the stairs two trapdoors like so then grab an acacia door and you’ll have to come in here and place it from that side So it lines up just like that and you can leave that wide open if you like and then look toward the other archway and we’re gonna put three more acacia stairs right there this time i’m just going to put two doors in here so put your back to the quartz wall and Place your door same thing right here so they will always be open and then finally we’re going to put another one in here so come to the inside of the room this time looking from this direction we’ll place our three stairs and then we’ll do like we did the first time we’ll put Acacia trapdoors like that and then place the door from that direction okay so now we’re going to do this room in here and this is going to be the room for our mine shaft and a bit of storage so walk through the door and keep going all the way to this block Right here at the end and just knock all of them out and this is where we’re going to put our mine shaft so i’ll put a couple of ladders there and a trapdoor now we’ll knock out the blocks all around it i’ll put a smooth stone there and decide that side And stone on that side and you can replace a bit of the dirt in there if you want to as well but that is where our mine shaft is going to go so now just go ahead and look out all the grass and we’ll do our flooring And you can pause the video right here if you want to copy the way i’ve done it and you’ll notice right down the bottom of the screen i haven’t done much decoration in the floor that’s because that’s all going to be covered up anyway so just pay attention to where You can see the light gray carpet because that’s where we’re going to need to place some light sources now we’re going to put in our furnaces in a bit of storage so our mine shaft is just there look to the left and we’ll put two furnaces on each side like so Next to the furnaces we’ll do two lines of double chests then we’ll put a chest right there with an ender chest on top now looking toward the right i’ll put an anvil right there and above our mine shaft just gonna put an item frame with our fortune 3 pick Okay now we’re going to just add a little bit more decoration to our mine shaft so just on the side here i want you to place a dark oak fence right there and then coming up out of the fence we’re going to go one two three chain blocks Now just grab some temporary blocks we’ll place one above the chain another one on top of that and break the one below and we’ll just put two temporary blocks to the side and you can grab grind stones and looking up at the stone we’re going to place them like that and Then you can go ahead and break the stone and then whoops we’ll place a piece of chain connecting the two of them and then down below here we’ll go one two chains just like that so now we’re going to look over to this wall and we’re just going to add a bit More storage but we’re going to do it in an organic sort of way so right in this corner i’m just going to place two diamond door like so with a block of stone beside it now grab a barrel we’ll put one lying on its side against the stone and Then on this side we’ll go one two barrels straight up and then another barrel right there lying on its side now grab a chest we’ll put one on top of the stone there one right there in front of the diamond door and then we’ll put one looking sideways Okay in this corner over here we’re going to put a block of stone right in the corner with some coal ore beside it then we’ll put a barrel lying on its side and one facing straight up now for something different we’re going to try a minecart with a chest and we want him To be straight here so i’ll just put two bits of rail right there i’m gonna push him into this gap and no he went wonky i’ll push him a bit harder no this will take a few goes there we go and you can break the two rail and to Stop us from nudging that i’m gonna put a double chest in front now grab a composter we’ll place it right there i’m gonna make a wheelbarrow so on this side we’ll put some dark oak fence gates and open him up for the handles and then grab a grindstone And we’ll place it right there okay so that’s our interior all done now we’re going to put a roof on this thing so just looking from the front here come along to the side and what we’re going to do is not the button in the corner but these two right Here we’re going to knock them out and just put a temporary block there and put a blackstone brick slab to the side of it and then break the temporary block and replace it with a blackstone brick slab so we’ve got two slabs coming up on the angle and we’re going to skip Three buttons and then do the same right here so temporary block slab to the side and replace the block with a slab just like that now grab some brick stairs and if you hold shift you can place it on top of the button we’re going to put one there And one right there and in between them we’re going to put a black stone brick slab and then grab your stairs again and looking out toward the front we’re going to place the stair right on top now we’re going to do that again just over here so Where we’ve got those buttons so same thing here knock out those two buttons temporary block slab and replace it skip three buttons knock out those two temporary block slab and a slab right there hold shift and we will put our stair on that side stare on that side slab in between And then looking toward the back of the building we’ll put our stair right there now grab some warped slabs and against the bottom half of those stairs we’re going to run these all the way along just like so now in this gap in the middle just behind our buttons We’re going to go one two three oak fences with another one sticking up in the middle we’ll do the same here so behind our buttons one two three dark oak fences with an extra one in the middle and then come in here and we’ll put a chain hanging down just behind that fence With a lantern on top same up here chain with a lantern now just on each end of the fences here grab a warped plank block and we’re going to put it right there same on this side right next to the fence and it’s pretty easy from here we’re just going to fill In the roof with warped wood so starting against this bottom slab we placed place a warped slab and just run it all the way along of course mixing in just randomly your dark prismarine just like that now in between the two blocks we’re going to put slabs again so not Full blocks just slabs and we’re going to run them all the way along so now we’ve got a blackstone stair there so we’re going to grab the warped stairs and once again continue that all along until it connects so that’s one side go ahead and do it on this side so now You should be looking like this you’ve got the roof on our little room at the front so all you need to do at the end is just lay down your buttons so we don’t get any mobs spawning and on top of the black stone here we will put Our black stone buttons so go ahead and do that on each side and we’ll turn the shaders back on guys because that is it we are done for the first part of the japanese courtyard base tutorial so thanks for watching guys i know it was a little bit different today Sending you off to other tutorials to learn how to build certain parts of this but it does mean that we can get much more done when we are trying to build this tutorial otherwise this video would be an hour long it would be horrible but leave a like if you enjoyed The video guys cheers i’m cortez arena i’ll see you later Video Information
