By hinting to a long lost past, we hope that the archeology feature can inspire to lots of different player stories. For now archeology can be done in the desert inside the desert temples. To simulate and ‘minecraftify’ the precious and very slow-paced art of real world archeology, We have added a new brush tool and you can use it to brush the suspicious sand to reveal what’s hidden inside it. I think what I love most with archeology is that it it hints to that there is like an ancient history of the Minecraft world but we don’t know what it is, So it’s up to us players to tell that story of the ancient world. And I also love that it inspires to go out on an adventure to find a suspicious sand and the mysterious things hidden inside it. Archeology is coming to Bedrock Betas, Previews and Java Snapshots. Read more about how to try it out and send us your feedback on minecraft.net. You will find the link below in the description. Video Information
