Minecraft 1.20 is updating a bunch about note blocks mob heads and player heads so in this video I’ll explain everything about these items the easiest mob school by far to get is the wither skeleton skull now the wither skeleton skull is dropped by 2.5 percent of wither Skeletons however the chance of this is increased by one percent her level of looting that you have on your sword but in Bedrock Edition it’s even better so per level of looting it’s actually a two percent better chance now looting goes to 3 which means that with a looting Three sword in Bedrock Edition you actually have an 8.5 or almost 1 in 10 chance of getting a wither skeleton skull from a wither skeleton and then in Java Edition with Looting 3 there is a 5.5 chance to get the Wither Skeleton school from the Wither Skeleton the Wither skeleton skull looks like this basically a darkened skeleton and you can also wear it on your head like a hat if you want just like this although there is no armor value to it it’s definitely a fun way of dress messing up with this school if you have them and of Course the main use for this is if you make a t-shape out of Soul Sand Soul soil or a mix of these and then put three of the Wither Skeleton skulls on top it will summon in the Wither boss which I talk about more in different videos then the next school is the Dragon head but obtaining this item actually has nothing to do with defeating the Ender Dragon although you do have to defeat it to get access to the outer end islands and of course in the outer end Islands there is the end cities that are actually fairly common And some in cities feature the end ship now the end ship does have the elytra on it but the elytra is not the item here that we’re actually looking for no just at the very front of the ships there is this dragon head floating there just be Aware you have to be careful to pick it up correctly but this is the dragon head which actually looks like sort of a dragon arm replacement when you’re holding it but if you put it on your head it is the full size of the dragon head and its mouth even moves when you Walk around with it now this item is only able to be obtained from the front of those and ships so be sure to grab them every single time you see an end ship in the end Dimension and there’s a couple other cool tricks you can do with this dragon head because although the Dragon head does move when you put it on your head and walk around you can also get it to move by powering with redstone so either directly by just placing it on any side of a redstone block like this you’ll see its mouth is moving there or Another cool trick is to put it on the side of a block and then power that block with the lever so you can have that Dragon head’s mouth be opening and closing and you can even stop it at a certain part of the cycle let’s say open Or if we want it to look a bit more scary maybe closed like this the next mob school is the skeleton school and you can get this two different ways but one of the ways is by finding them very rarely inside of the ancient cities now usually with most mob schools it Requires you to be super late game to actually get these items however with the skeleton school if you do happen to find an ancient city early and the skeleton skull inside of it it can be a really cool way of getting this head so be sure to look around the ancient Cities next time you’re raiding them to potentially get this great item however you can also get the skeleton skull in one other way and that is if it happens to become a thunderstorm and you can get a creeper next to a lightning rod or just throw a trident with channeling at The creeper and basically you can then get yourself a Charged Creeper enough a Charged Creeper explodes next to a skeleton and that explosion also kills the skeleton you’ll notice right down here that we have a skeleton skull and interestingly enough this method of getting the creeper that is charged to Be killing a skeleton actually also works with the Wither Skeleton that’s because if you can get that Charged Creeper to kill the Wither Skeleton it will also drop its wither skeleton skull however this is definitely not worth it generally as it’s usually much much easier to kill these with a looting Three sword in another Fortress and this can still be completed inside of survival if you’re wondering how to survive that Creeper explosion all you want to do is just like that creeper on fire then hold up your shield and you won’t take any damage but that creeper Will still kill the mobs that are right around you getting yourself more mob skulls also although funny enough this does not work with the skeleton skull which you would assume would be sort of like this the wither skeleton skull will give you the skull charge Banner pattern By simply placing a piece of paper in a wither skeleton skull in the crafting grid this pattern will let you put a skull and crossbone shape on any single banner that you’d like and of course that’s fully reusable as well and as a new feature that will be added in Minecraft 1.20 if a Charged Creeper happens to kill a piglin then one of those piglens can actually drop their head as you see right here we have the brand new piglin head item now this head is not just like your standard skulls there’s quite a bit more use to it so if You wear the pigland head it’s somewhat similar to the dragon skull in the sense that its ears actually move when you’re walking around with it which is definitely a nice little feature being added which makes this pigland skull much more realistic and this is probably also the most difficult skull to get if You think about it considering the fact that getting a Charged Creeper inside the Nether and then having that perfectly kill a piglin can definitely be quite difficult as of course with all the other schools finding a Charged Creeper next to a skeleton is pretty easy and the skull is also quite a Unique shape as you can see here it has sort of this rectangular and not really square shape to it definitely looking exactly like the pigland head and there’s even the more 3D snout and tusks coming out of the front with the ears on it and just like the dragon head if you Have this on a block that is then powered or you put it directly on top of a powered block like this its ears will also move with the ability to customize the ear positions by flicking the lever at certain times just be aware a pigland Head does not take the place of a gold helmet in having a piglet not get angry at you although I think it definitely should as it makes a lot more sense a random piece of gold armor being a better disguise for these piglens than literally having their own head on you So just do not try and trade with the piglens with a piglet head on also if a Charged Creeper happens to kill another creeper or even another Charged Creeper that will also make it drop a creeper head now the creeper head also has two uses to it outside of just being a Decorational item or an item that you can wear on your head although it does definitely make a good costume and those other two uses are both decorational the first one is if you’re making a firework and you want that firework to have a special shape add in a creeper head and Then you can get the creeper-shaped firework star but I will tell you a secret if you do not want to waste your creeper heads for whatever reason this actually works with any mob head or School inside of the entire game which is definitely a good thing because getting the Wither Skeleton skulls is Pretty easy getting the creeper skulls is incredibly difficult so next time you want to make a creeper-shaped firework just use a wither skeleton skull or whatever other mob school you have a lot of instead of having to use your valuable creeper schools and what this Looks like when it’s being shot off is a really cool firework with the shape of a creeper face and of course that can be green if you want it to be or something else but definitely a really cool thing to try out for your New Year’s firework Displays now the other use of the creeper head is if you combine it with a piece of paper in your hands or in a crafting table that gives you the creeper charge now the creeper charge put in a loom with a banner will give you a creeper-shaped pattern this Pattern although of course it seems kind of basic because how many Banners at the end of the day do you want to have look like a creeper what’s actually quite nice is you can use this with a lot of different layers to make some amazing looking Banner patterns and for the Final mob head inside of Minecraft is the zombie skull and the zombie head or the zombie skull does not have any additional uses to it outside of being a wearable item however it’s definitely still quite fun to get and because zombies aren’t that dangerous and are Easy to lead around it’s probably one of the easiest of these scores to get because it can honestly be fairly easy to have a cherished creeper blow up a zombie and these are great decorational items as well for Halloween or really anything you want that features zombies Maybe the entrance to a zombie mob XP farm however there’s some really important things you should know if you’re dealing with the mob skulls the first thing is the Charged Creeper inside of the Java edition of Minecraft will do something that actually makes these skulls much more difficult to get And that’s the fact that even if all of these mobs are killed by that Charged Creeper only one of those mobs will drop their heads so you see here all the piles of mob loot but just one lone zombie head that landed on the ground however the good news is although this Does make these super hard to get inside of Bedrock Edition it’s different let’s say we have a Charged Creeper here and we’ll surround it with a whole bunch of skeletons creepers wither skeletons some zombies now if we right click on this creeper what will happen every single One of those mobs will actually drop their schools so you can see here we have a large pile of Wither Skeleton skulls creeper skulls skeleton skulls zombie schools basically schools of every single type of mob that was there one school for each mob you can see they’re from just one Charged Creeper we Got ourselves 21 skulls so if you’re inside of Bedrock Edition definitely the best idea is to make somewhat of a trap to have the Charged Creeper in there maybe put it in a boat or give it a name tag than to try and get as many mobs as You can possibly fit into that space being sure not to have the mentally cram have that Central creeper explode and that will give you a very large collection of all these different heads and skulls and again unfortunately this does not work inside of java Edition and So these items are just by default much harder to get inside of that version now every single one of the mob heads or schools other than the dragon head and the wither skeleton skull have a really awesome feature which is it actually camouflages you against that mob type so Let’s say we’re wearing this creeper head and we happen to be nearby a creeper if we get close to that creeper you’ll notice here we can walk within its detection range and that creeper is still not following after us we can actually get fairly close to it without Any issue but if we take this head off you’ll notice the creeper instantly notices us and runs after us but then there’s the fact that if you’re approaching when you’re near the creeper you can get even closer so the detection range of this creeper will recroaching next to it is incredibly small you’ll Notice right here the creeper still is not noticing us because we’re crouching and have the other creepers go on not until we’re only a couple blocks away does the creeper then notice us and explode there’s another head related feature inside of Minecraft you should know about and that is player heads and Custom heads now to get any single Java Edition player’s head all you need to do is use this command give at self where you can just put your username here Minecraft colon player underscore head and then use this bracket skull owner and then put their player name right Here in between these two quotation marks so for instance we could put right here I craftmc and we now have my Skin’s head which of course is this luxurious singular eyeball here and looking at the longing stair of this screen I reminds me that a lot of people who watch my Videos aren’t subscribed so if you want to subscribe to see more of this amazing head be sure to do that and turn on notifications that you never miss my uploads or live streams in the future but either way you can do this of course with any head you want so for instance We could replace this player name right here with something of like let’s say Minecraft’s Old owner Notch here you can see this is that head and you could even do this for your very own head so let’s say your username was cool creeper7 I have no idea if that’s a real username But I’m gonna assume it is if we put that in you can see yes indeed that is a real username and that person has a creeper school as their head and of course you can use that for a lot of great things because let’s say you put In the school name of Television this user actually has a TV as their head so you can use this to decorate but let’s say you want to do something a little bit more guaranteed that’s where custom heads come in now hands down the best resource for custom heads and Minecraft Is Minecraft Dash heads.com and I have talked about this website before but all you have to do if you want to access tons of custom heads on here just simply press the custom head button right here and you’ll be taken to a list of over 50 000 custom heads and let’s say we want this charging Vex head simply click on that scroll down here and they will give you the give command code and press the copy button right here get out of command block because this is a very long command then simply copy and paste That into the command block right click on this lever here and you will be given that head and of course once you have that you can save that in your saved hot bar here or you can just place it down and then do control and middle click to Get that head again and of course because there’s so many different player heads and custom heads to use this is really an awesome decorational opportunity especially since some Minecraft servers even have ways of getting these inside of survival but the big question is of course other than the Piglin heads what part of this is new in Minecraft 1.20 well the one thing is that the old default player head now has the new Steve texture with the beard the slightly darker face and also sort of smoother texture but as well as that with the zombie head creeper head piglet Head dragon head as well as the skeleton and Wither Skeleton skulls there is a really new cool ability with the Note Block item so if we get out some note blocks here normally what happens if we have something invalid on top of it is we right click on it and nothing plays We take that off of there and it’ll make some noises and of course the note block on Sand here is not the piano sound but over here we can get that and then when 1.20 comes out what will happen when you put a mob head on top of here is where It can get an absolutely awesome effect which is when we right click on this note block it’ll actually make one of the sounds of the zombie just like this or with the piglet head on top it uses one of the penguin sounds or with the Creeper head on top it uses one of the creeper ignite sounds I could definitely see this being used for hilarious pranks with the dragon some of the very loud dragon sounds and of course with the skeleton skull it uses some of the skeleton ambient noises or the same with The Wither Skeleton ambient noises now unfortunately with the Steve or player head there are no noises however something I think would be a great Easter egg is if the sound of right clicking on this would be the old Steve getting hurt sound however there is something really cool you can do with Player heads so if you have a player head on top of a note block and you add data to that with a particular song or music on it then when you right click on these note blocks it’ll play that song although of course I don’t have any data Added to this this could of course play anything I wanted within the game which is incredibly useful for map makers and also because note blocks are fully able to be activated with redstone circuitry just like this we could have a chain of these noises all being put off by the Redstone torch here so you could fully automate making these natural mob sounds in Survival Minecraft and of course the standard Note Block use is that whatever is below it not above it sets the sound that it has so for instance being on top of this log here we have this sound on The grass here we have this sound on the dirt there is this sound although not every material has its own custom sound but the default being the piano there you can still get some definitely very cool results like with the space sound here more or less what it is is the Right click button will change what tone it is and the left click button will make it so that that tone keeps being played and there’s a different color for every single tone as you can see with these cool note block verticals and one other thing is the Note Blocks will Actually send signals to a laze so let’s just say this Alay here is being trained to pick up dirt blocks and then we ring this note block next to it when it picks that up it’s going to bring it to this note block and not to us anyway that’s Everything about Minecraft’s recent head changes and note blocks and how these things work
