THE FINAL EPISODE – Minecraft Survival (#265)

November 30th that is the day the new minecraft update comes out so today in my survival world we’re gonna be preparing for the update if you’re like me and you have an existing world that you’re gonna update there are some things you could do that will save you

So much time so today let’s prepare together now funny enough the first thing i’m gonna mention isn’t exactly needed but it is still very helpful and that is new computer parts i say that half jokingly but i’m bringing this up because i just got a new processor for

Those of you who aren’t nerds out there what does that mean it means i have crispy fps like this world is almost six years old for the past three or four years i’ve had like low fps like 50 maybe 60 but now i’m in the hundreds so

Finally i can actually have 16 chunk render distance so aside from me being very happy about that there is a good tip about this in 1.18 there’s gonna be a lot more lag it may stink but think about there’s gonna be higher mountains lower caves just more stuff overall in

The game so that means more lag so for a good tip for you guys maybe when the update comes out you want to lower your distance for render down to like maybe 12 or 10 or put like your graphics on it fast instead of fancy so don’t do it yet

But just a heads up you might get a little more lag in the update but now let’s get to some more practical things like tools items and like really useful things that you can get for free unlike all these pc parts those were not free okay so first off let’s talk about

Pickaxes obviously you guys know you’re gonna want pickaxes to go mine in these giant new caves but there’s a more important reason why you want certain kinds of pickaxes you’re gonna want a fortune pick like the one i have right here because if you didn’t know copper

Can now drop more rock copper if you use a fortune pick i mean actually copper ore is going to drop more copper regardless but with a fortune pick you can get up to 15 pieces of rock copper with one break point being if you want to get more copper for cool builds and

Whatnot get a fortune pickaxe and additionally you might also want to get a silk touch pickaxe because you probably will run out of space if you’re getting stacks and stacks of rock copper that might be too much if you use a silk touch pick i can pick up all the ore and

Then fortune it back when i get home now lucky for me i have two pickaxes so i’m all set on that but i’m also gonna need to get a hoe hoes are the best way to break moss blocks and by the way in the new lush caves there’s gonna be a lot of

Moss so if you’re someone that likes building with moss and trust me i do a lot bring a hoe it could even be some like cheap iron hoe or diamond hoe just bring any kind of hoe and again i’m lucky i’m all set with that so far so

Good for me but here’s something i don’t have and that is certain kinds of lighting obviously these new caves are going to be gigantic so you’re going to want to bring a lot of torches so you know you can actually see down there but more importantly i’d recommend you bring

Night vision potions that way the entire cave will be lit up entirely but i don’t have any how do i make one i feel like it’s a golden carrot let’s let’s double check that got water balls i put in a netherwart i don’t brew potions often this should make an awkward potion

Oh yeah then golden carrot will this work again i don’t brew often so this is like new to me night vision all right we did it i am going to waste one because i want to test it out i haven’t used these things in survival forever oh yeah oh

Yeah this will be very handy in the new update i promise i would do anything to have like infinite night vision this is perfect like everything is just so bright and just saturated it looks amazing i’m gonna brew some more of these and i’ll put them in this chest

Over here this will be my night vision chest so i got some brewing to do i’ll be right back all right a few minutes later we got three we got six and math aside we have a good amount of potions for the update i think i could put like

Glossed on these things and make them longer right but i don’t care i have so many it’s fine i’m just lazy you should probably do the glowstone now next up i want to go to the end because there’s two really important things that i should get number one is obviously

Elytra but lucky for me i have some because in those big caves and new mountains you’re gonna want a new way to you know actually transport around but something i don’t have enough of is shulker boxes because i just feel like with all the new stuff and all the new

Blocks coming you’re gonna run out of inventory space pretty fast so by that sentiment i want to go get some more shulker boxes probably like three or four at least so we’re going end busting okay i’m a little bit nervous right now because every time i use one of those

End portal thingies i always almost die just gotta get an ender pearl or two okay i have my fireworks ready just in case things go wrong i go like that oh my god hit it am i in okay i’m in oh my god that’s always so scary okay so i

Don’t know which way i’ve gone probably that way so i’m gonna go this way and little pro tip for you guys if you didn’t know when you’re end busting put your render distance all the way up there’s like no lag in here and if you can see far away it’s very helpful okay

8 000 blocks later still nothing this is strange what am i doing wrong all right finally that took us 10 000 blocks to the tee now the question is are there shulkers here please tell me i haven’t been here before is it oh i hear them oh they hear

Curious why it’s because right now when you sleep the weather cycle resets so if you’re gonna get rain soon oh well there’s no more rain but in the new update it’s not gonna reset which means if there’s rain coming the rain will continue to show up even after you sleep

I hope that made sense but the points i’m trying to make here is you will get thunderstorms more often and potential lightning strikes that could burn down your buildings enter lightning rods these things attract lightning so if you put these in places where there’s no you know giant wooden building like over

Here you’re a lot safer or a top like a stone building like right there so i’m gonna take no risks here i’m gonna put these lightning rods far away from any kind of wooden structures i’m actually really scared about this because i have like a giant tree house that if it gets

Struck i’m going to cry and quit minecraft forever so yeah i really hope we don’t get too much lightning in fact i have so much wood in this kingdom this could be terrible for me maybe i shouldn’t be so happy about this after all but whatever not gonna fight change

Does that look weird yeah it’s fine okay now we’re gonna talk about music because if you didn’t know in the new update there’s gonna be a new music disc so number one make a jukebox i already got one so i’m good to go but you’re also

Gonna wanna make a music disc farm which by the way if you don’t know is really easy you’re just gonna want eight pistons two blocks so i’ll just use diuret i guess and then two pressure plates now in my opinion you wanna go out to like a nice open field where

There’s no lights no torches no nothing basically a spot where tons of mobs are gonna spawn i guess i’ll do mine right here on this little rock island what you’re gonna do is pick one block and put a pressure plate on top on the four blocks around that block you’re gonna

Put down pistons in the ground then two blocks above your pressure plate put down a building block so it’d be not this one but that one now you can break this and how it works is you kind of just saw it there if a mob goes inside

Of here it gets stuck so if you get a skeleton in one and a creeper in another when the skeleton shoots the creeper they drop a music disc so i’m gonna have this trap all ready for the update this looks good to me now time to wait and

To the next preparation similar to the music disc they’re also adding new songs that are in certain biomes so for example if you’re frogging in a meadow you’ll hear new music so my advice to you guys is get good at dancing you know what that calls for disco break if

You’re new here just go with it i can’t wait for the new update okay next up is a really cool tip involving geodes i want to give credit where credit is due i learned this off of a wattles video so waddle shout out to you i love that dude but basically

Geodes are going to be spawning lower in the ground and by geodes i mean those little amethyst balls that you find in caves so if you already have a world that you’re going to update like i do find a geode find one that’s close to the surface cause you can’t find those

Anymore in 1.18 now lucky for me i actually have an entire amethyst lab across the ocean ah right down here and here it is right here not too far at all from my house here’s the amethyst here’s the geode it’s actually kind of like a sciencey lab and fun fact this was my

Lot of time also side note for the first time in like two years i don’t have any food on me back the kingdom i have like every animal farm ever invented but now i got nothing so can i go hunting really fast any animals around here no okay oh

I see some fish i’m down so bad i’m spear fishing stop moving so hastily there we go now as i fly back home there’s one more really important tip that i should mention i don’t think i’m gonna do it i mean i’m not positive but

I don’t think so basically the tip is if you don’t want to travel far away to find the new chunks consider resetting your chunks again i might not do that and certainly not today but if you want to do it i made an old tutorial on it so

Yeah okay after planning out the build we’re gonna need a lot of quartz so we gotta go to the nether and go mining how about you but you better but you better oh my god all right we’re going back in water drankin neck cracked builds prepared let’s do this thing And after all that here is the finished product this is our bank and i think it came out pretty cool i wanted to keep that like rustic feel where it’s all like wooden but i also have like the white like bank color if i picture a

Bank i think of like white so i go inside of here and it’s all pristine white with arteller who’s also a dog so i couldn’t get a villager in here i promise i tried i tried so hard it just did not work but inside here we have two

Doors to our vaults mr teller can i go in here and now i walk inside and here is a vault room and yes it’s kind of small but i want it just to be a place to store my emerald blocks right now i only have like 13 so this is perfect but

In the future as i get richer and richer i’ll probably make a bigger and bigger vault and over here on this side we have another vault i’ll just put a few blocks in there sure wait as a matter of fact i might actually have more emerald blocks

In my vault because again this is the villagers bank but i have my own bank full of my own riches and i probably have emeralds in there so if i squeeze down over here i have my own special vault hello officer everything’s safe and secure in here nope are you okay

He’s not having a good day but anyways here’s my vault little passcode everyone please look away and boom we’re in and yes i have many emeralds in here i’m not gonna give the villagers all my emeralds because these are mine but i’ll give them a couple because i’m a nice guy and

I really wish i could have done the whole like redstone door thing here with like the passcode but realistically villagers aren’t gonna know how to use this so it’s kind of a waste and in my world it’s a really big deal to me that the villagers actually occupy the

Buildings in the kingdom because if not it just it’s kind of lonely and when i have the villagers in the buildings it makes it so much more fun so long story short i want them to actually go in the bank and like at least walk in it you

Know i just can’t wait for the day that minecraft allows villagers to like do more things like if they could let’s say open trap doors for a start or like press buttons or do kind of like what the copper golem was supposed to do but put it in all villagers like that would

Make my kingdom so much well for one more laggy but for two so much more immersive all the emerald blocks on the side of it looks so good i love that little detail i did all right hello teller how you doing you know me make a
