“The Orb of Dominance… A powerful magic… A sinister secret… A victimized villain. Long before that, you, the hero… You have pushed the piglins back further and further. One last base yet remains, it seems. The start of all of this. The Great Hog calls out. From the back, A figure emerges, older and more well mannered. They call upon the runts from the side, bringing forth a beacon core. A great magic is cast upon this artifact. Magic stemming from… Somewhere far beyond.” With the recent release of Minecraft Legends, a lot more of the history of the world of Minecraft, The Overworld mainly, has been revealed. The very nature of the Overworld is far more interesting than we may have first thought. There’s also been a lot of theories branching from the Broken God theory, alongside questions, so in this video, I wanted to take a small dive into answering your questions and diving deeper into your theories. If you enjoy the video, consider subscribing, it always helps the channel out. If you want me to cover more topics and questions, comment them below. The Seer. This character is one shrouded in mystery. We never battle them. We never even hear their name in-game. Yet, they are clearly of importance to the Great Hog and the piglins as a whole. The Seer seems to possibly be pulling the strings In a way, actively influencing the other legendary Ancient Piglins, a title which we’ll use to identify the Generals and the Great Hog, sending them to invade the Overworld, which seems familiar to another character we know, doesn’t it? In Minecraft Dungeons, the Orb of Dominance, Especially shown in the canon novel “The Rise of the Arch Illager”, is shown to be very manipulative of its user if they overstep their boundaries, basically using the Arch-Illager as its puppet, as it can’t materialize its form outside of its dimension of origin. The Seer’s relationship with the Orb is unknown. It may be similar to that of Archie, being an unwilling, unwitting servant forced into a position of power with no means to get out. It might not even be that. They may be working together more cooperatively with mutual goals. The power of the Seer seems a lot stronger than the other piglins. For example, the Beast is unphased by the player taking down their bases, instead focusing their attention elsewhere, dismissing and attacking those who interrupt their hunt, even attempting to crush one of their best type of warrior for accidentally bumping into Them. They lack patience and are as petulant as they are prideful. But the Seer is shown to actively change their course, screeching at them once their patience has run out. The Beast fears little, being the most dominant figure in the Horde of the Hunt. They are chaotic And stubborn. Yet the Seer, the smallest out of all of these fabled Ancient Piglins, directs them with such agitation and the Beast doesn’t show so much as a threat of violence. Not even the other piglin generals are willing to show disrespect to the Seer, Moving aside as they walk through. Within a Military hierarchy, the Generals usually answer to the Supreme Commander, which fits the Great Hog perfectly, but the Seer, even seeming higher than the generals, isn’t exactly above the Great Hog, so where do they fit in? The title of “Seer” is very interesting. This name has several definitions. One being “A person of supposed supernatural insight who sees visions of the future.” or “one that practices divination especially by concentrating on a glass or crystal globe.” While we don’t see Any sign of visions of the future, this almost exactly matches the description of the Seer with the Orb of Dominance. Divination is “the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or By the aid of supernatural powers.” Instead of looking into the future, the Seer may be a source of knowledge. We know they may also act as an advisor to the Great Hog. They even share a deal of mutual respect for one another, unlike many of the piglins, with the Seer Laughing alongside the Great Hog as he sets out for the Well of Fate. The Seer, with the supernatural (maybe show a screenshot of the definition of “supernatural?) power of the Orb of Dominance, also displays magical knowledge fitting for divination with the construction of the night beacon and the enchanting of The Great Hog’s throwing spear. In this way, they may also act as some kind of priest. Other than this, not much can be drawn from what we see of the Seer. Once the Great Hog is defeated, they remain in the Nether. Their fate left unclear. Perhaps sometime down the line, They may strike back once more in a later Legends expansion. Or perhaps, we may take the fight to the Nether. This next part is just a super rough speculation from my end, but imagine if Highblock Castle was the Seer’s main base, using the Orb of Dominance to create it out of stone instead of nether materials, through using the Orb to keep them alive rather than Nether spreading machines. Piglins who had survived the battle of the Well of Fate, were sent back to the Nether, giving them the chance to alert the Seer. This is A loose possibility, however. The ruins of Highblock Castle contain symbols chiseled into the stone like that of the plus shape seen in the fountains of villages and the wellhouses. Overworld imagery and not Nether. Nonetheless, we should keep our eyes out. Since the last video, there’s been some theorizing and talk, Playing around with the idea of a fourth Host, with many figuring it to be Ender. Let’s dissect this idea with some popular talking points. To start off simple, one point made is the amount of eyes each Host has. Action has one, Knowledge has two, and Foresight has four. Some believe there to be a missing link of sorts between Knowledge and Foresight, stating that the depiction of the Heart of Ender with its three eyes on its face may fill that in. In the opening cinematic, when Knowledge believes Foresight to be afraid of the situation regarding The piglin invasion, Foresight says “No, I’m just sad that it has come to this.” They all seemingly look far off somewhere else, potentially at a corner that someone would fill. Hosts also share a similarity with the Heart of Ender, as they become starry And translucent when outside of the Well of Fate, which some believe to provide a connection between them. They are even able to view the world from afar in a similar way to the Orb’s ability that Archie uses in the novel. The evidence for Ender being the fourth Host, Or there being a fourth Host at all, is few and far between, however. Many of the points presented here are based on loose possibilities and ‘what-ifs.’ The idea of the eyes having some sort of meaning here is rocky. More so when you consider the fact That the Heart of Ender has eyes throughout its body as well and that Eyes of Ender also exist and are also significant to consider if you’ve watched our last theory video. Foresight’s quote also is a bit too vague to make much of currently. Perhaps things may be clearer Later on as the universe of Minecraft expands with more books, games, and updates. But it really could refer to anything. Perhaps an imbalance in the cosmology in the Minecraft universe, the fact that creatures of another dimension have invaded theirs, or that their perfect, peaceful world May have to resort to some kind of violence. The similarity with the Orb’s ability to view the world in this magical way is interesting. But the difference here is that the Hosts can’t actually do that. They lack the ability. Instead, they must peer into the Well as we hear Foresight Say early on into these cutscenes of their visions “More images in the Well.” The Orb of Dominance can do that all on its own, however. The starry appearance of the Hosts is the most Convincing but even that is somehow muddied up by what we know of the End and even what we learn in Legends. The Hosts are fully viewable within the Well of Fate as they are. Outside, they become Starry, as mentioned before. This is very similar to the Heart of Ender when it unleashes its form outside of the End. The key difference, however, is where they draw their power. The Hosts turn translucent and sparkly when outside the Well, signifying that this is where They get their power. When the Well is being damaged, their voices struggle to maintain audibility when they communicate with you from far away. The fact that the Hosts become transparent and starry out of the Well also indicates that their power emerges from this place. The Heart of Ender’s, as stated by the Nameless One, “… comes from somewhere far beyond.” The End. And we see as it can finally materialize a physical from once it enters the dimension, and reforms its true physical body as it reaches the core of the dimension. These differences in The sources of their power heavily imply that the Hosts and the various fragments of Ender are of separate natures and origin. The power of just the Heart of Ender on its own is also far greater than the Hosts’. The Hosts are actually not as powerful as one may think Them to be portrayed, considering the events of Legends are an in-universe Villager tale and that they essentially functioned as their ‘gods’ of sorts. They do not have utter control over the cosmos and their abilities are limited. When constructing the world, they relied On machines such as the towers and the Firsts to assist them. They cannot magically shape the world to a major degree. At least, not as much as the Orb of Dominance can, let alone its perfect form as the Heart of Ender, let alone what implied power Ender may have. The Heart of Ender has the power to change and shift the world physically and cosmically, unlike what we see with the Hosts on their own. In the novel, the Orb’s power is used by Archie to rip metal from the Earth and magically shift it into the staff that we see him carry. Chapter Eleven: “A beam of light arched out from the Orb and exposed a vein of metal running through the floor in front of Archie. Blocks of iron and gold rose up from the ground and hovered there before him. A moment later, they began to spin around and around like a top. The blocks Whirled about, becoming taller and narrower until they melded into a tall straight pole with a small disc on its top.” It also summons food for him, from seemingly nothing. “He realized then that he was still starving. A moment. Just seconds later, A plate full of steaming hot food appeared on top of a nearby boulder at just about the height of a table. Another rock appeared next to it at the perfect level for Archie to sit on.” Later on, it does far more than that, altering the very cosmic relationship between the sun And undead, immunizing them from its effects. Even before that, it had changed the cosmos once more, forming the dark up above the Overworld as its powers were used to drain one of the suns and cast a starry night where it once brightened its side of the sky. Not even directly! It’s powers were Used to enhance something else, a beacon core. This magic could not be undone by the Hosts. Considering the power it has displayed in the Overworld alone and the fact that it may only be part of something much greater, it would seem very strange for Ender to be a Host with the vast power difference. Not even mentioning that the Heart’s perfect form is already much larger than the Hosts, on its own. The Hosts are not even referred to as gods, unlike what has been implied as you’ve seen previously with Ender. But rather the benevolent Caretakers of the Overworld. They act exactly as such, forming the world, and helping it to develop until it can sustain itself. They are even saddened at the fact that they are not needed towards the end of Legends. They might be cosmic beings on their own but they may also be below Something else just as the Heart may be… When regarding the cosmic principles of the Minecraft Universe, some have wondered what the role of respawning may have to play, if any at all. Well, the answer may astound some of you. Perhaps this is the most game changing Aspect of this universe we’ve yet encountered. The answer is… no. But not just a “no.” It is numerous ‘noes’ And it’s just that simple… right? Respawning would imply many things. That death is not permanent. That death is simply an inconvenience. But we know better. The Dead walk only because of magical forces, either unintentionally by the nature of the world or by the will of another. Otherwise, they remain lifeless. Even humans. In the desert temple, catacombs of sarcophagi litter the place. And they do have occupants, or most at least did. Even the Orb of Dominance, with its own ancient knowledge and influence understands the mortality of any. With Archie’s longing of revenge towards the one who forced him to leave the Squid Coast, the Orb says, “Even heroes such as those are no threat to you. Not individually. But they do not Work alone. When your forces band together, they can amass an overwhelming force. If we wish to defeat them, to remove them from the land once and for all, we need to find allies too. We need to form an army of our own.” In Minecraft, respawning is simply a product Of game mechanics. Even the methods of respawning, the bed and respawn anchor, give the death message “[Intentional Game Design]” when you are killed by their explosion. Respawning is not an in-universe occurrence and these death messages even elude to it. The respawn anchor, however, may hold something to it. One thing most do not consider is the fact that the respawn anchor is, in fact, a portal. It has that iconic swirl of the Nether portal, it makes distorted portal whooshing, and it has portal particles. The very idea of The respawn anchor is very interesting in not only its execution but its intent in that. In a tweet, the Art Director for Minecraft, Jappa, says, “Fun fact: the respawn anchor’s portal is in reverse and the particles go outwards instead of inwards like the nether portal, Indicating that you cannot go in, but only out!” Out from where? This is a question that cannot be answered currently but it implies the existence of perhaps another world outside those we know and assume to be.
