Mojang Loses Second Fight To Kill 6b6t Anarchy Server

After DMCA takedown of the AnarchyMod bypass tool on September 17, the project is back online following a swift counter-notice. The blacklist has failed twice now and 6b6t keeps running.

For the second time this year Mojang has gone after 6b6t and come up empty. On September 17 Microsoft sent GitHub a DMCA notice claiming the AnarchyMod project infringed copyright. The entire repository was pulled offline the same day.

The 6b6t team responded with a counter-notice the next day, restoring the source code and download links. They credited assistance from the organizer behind lawsuit.gg. The mod that bypasses Minecraft’s server blacklist is once again publicly available.

Mojang blacklisted the server in July. When that did not kill it they went after the bypass software. Both moves failed. The server hit over 1,100 concurrent players during a recent dupe event and shows no sign of dying.

This is not a one-off grudge match. 6b6t has operated for years as an anarchy server with few rules and a large player base. After the initial blacklist in July the team quickly adapted, maintaining connectivity and growing despite the official block.

  • July 15 2026: 6b6t added to Minecraft server blacklist
  • September 17 2026: DMCA notice hits AnarchyMod GitHub repo
  • September 18 2026: Counter-notice succeeds, repo restored
  • Server continues running with active player counts in the hundreds to over a thousand

The blog post makes clear the team has no intention of shutting down or adding rules. Players can still join using the restored mod. Whether Mojang will escalate further remains to be seen, but so far the community side is winning the technical and legal rounds.

They got our GitHub repository removed. They did not shut down 6b6t.
