So in the first one of these videos we did a survival starter house in the second one we did this massive tree house and for the third one we’re gonna make a nether portal so what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna do the exact same thing so we’re gonna start with a basic Nether portal bump up to an intermediate level and then finally expert here so I’ve currently got them all in the same world the survival starter house is over in that direction this is where the treehouse is and what I plan on doing is just coming over here Over here to this cliff edge because I feel like it’s a good spot to begin with now there’s so many different designs that you can do with a nether portal you can make a basic nether portal and then just kind of jazz it up you can make it On its own little platform and make it sort of like a dark portal from wow I’ve previously done that on my channel as well so you can check that out but what I plan on doing this time is I’m gonna do three different interpretations of it Embedded into the cliff face and so what I mean by that is literally putting it right up against the rock here right up against the cliff and hiding the frame of it so that it looks like it’s part of the cliff face so all we should have Here is a portal that looks pretty natural and it’s part of the rock face anyway I think this is a good area to start with so what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna clean things up a little bit with some world at it and then we’re gonna start off with the basic nether Portal before we get into that though I wanted to bring up a side note after looking into my video and channel analytics I noticed that a lot of people that watch my videos aren’t actually subscribed to the channel so if you’re not already subscribed to the channel and you’re watching this video then Please consider subscribing if you don’t like the content I produce then you can unsubscribe at any point it’s free you don’t have to do anything about it just unsubscribe anyway I’ve held your arm for long enough I think it’s time to make these nether pools Right so after a little while a building this is what I was able to come up with it’s nothing special but it’s actually quite aesthetically pleasing as well so to start off with I ended up doing a little bit of terrain editing and raising the land here to kind of make This pathway obviously you don’t need to do that but I was doing it for the intention of this build and the the next here up you can do it however you want it to it’s just a little extra thing that I added into it so anyway aside From that the first thing that we start with here is the pathway I just kind of scattered in some cobblestone and some mostly cobblestone and some slabs as well just to give it a bit of the variety in the pathway and along each side of it as well I’ve also just added In one of these walls with torch on top just to help lie up the path now as for the actual portal itself because this is the basic tier I wanted to keep it basic level so I intentionally use the default nether portal frame which is a five by Four or whatever is and even doing so because I’m able to hide it in the terrain you can see what I’ve done here I’ve just built up the stone around it added in some mossy and more cobblestone some more walls to look like stalactite sand stag mites and whatnot because I’ve Surrounded it with grass and done bone meal and whatnot as well it made it look very natural and it even though it’s embedded in the wall it looks like it’s been sat there for a long time it looks like it’s quite weathered and the thing that really does that obviously is the Mossy stone now obviously if we were to strip back some of this terrain there’s nothing that’s really going on here it’s just a basic nether pool but it’s the basic tier so I had to do something along those lines and I couldn’t just do I couldn’t just do the nether portal by Itself either way we’ve just the default nether portal design it still looks really good I think like embedded in this cliff face I think it looks natural as well it doesn’t look very out-there it looks like it was natural terrain I’ve basically just dug a hole in the Side of it put the nether portal in it and then added a few cobblestone and mossy cobblestone and that’s it that’s honestly that’s what I’ve done I mean aside from that there’s not a whole lot that we can really talk about it’s just a default nether Pole embedded in the Cliff face so obviously now we’re going to take this basic nether portal and we’re gonna upgrade it to the intermediate level Okay so now that the little time lapse is done that we are at the intermediate level of nether pour and so I’ve intentionally kept the same style as what was happening the basic version it’s just a bit bigger really so again the same thing I haven’t changed the Terrain really at all except for around there I’ve not done anything to the pathway here the pathway again is just mossy and regular cobblestone which is kind of scattered randomly around to make it look like it’s ruins that’s been kind of worn away over time from nature And whatnot as for the actual ball itself so what we had to do is we had to build the terrain out a little bit more so we could include this larger portal into the cliff face and have it not look weird so basically we made a bigger frame and it’s circular this time Obviously you can’t do that in survival but you can get around it by making a square one and then just hiding the corners a bit with the terrain that you’re covering out and so we’ve kind of done that already we just kept the circular nether poor design there’s Nothing stopping you from doing that and you can definitely do that I could literally change this right now make it square and just keep the terrain like this and it would look the same but aesthetically what is actually different here it’s got the same kind of thing going on We’ve got stalagmites and stalactites hanging down from the cliff around it covering up the frame and also kind of covering up the actual portal itself a little bit making a bit more secluded in the rock and then other than that we’ve got these leaves kind of drape Seng down From the cliff and around the base pretty much just making it look more weathered acting as like vines kind of dropping down it’s the same thing that was happening in the tree as you can see over there basically if you want to make something look weathered in Minecraft You need to just add the mossy and the cracked Varian and some leaves to make it look like it’s been sat there for a long time and that nature is kind of taking it back you know but I think this is actually a really cool way of incorporating the nether pool into your World because look at how much cooler that looks embedded in the cliff face than it does if it was just standing freeform on this little this little plane of grass here it looks like it’s got a little bit of story behind it you know it’s embedded in the cliff face We’ve got this little pathway that leads up to it that’s really weathered it looks like some sort of ruins or something like that it just adds to the whole vibe of it and it really makes it look just ten times better honestly anyway obviously I love this kind of design just hiding it In the cliff face so we’re gonna do the same thing for the expert level but I’m gonna change it up a little bit so previously we’ve done these weathered kind of looks but for the expert here I wanted to try something a little bit more unique I haven’t done anything like This before so it should be interesting we’ll see how it turns out anyway enough of that let’s get onto the expert So we are done with the time lapse and as you can see in the distance we’ve got this gruesome looking portal so I’ve deliberately kept this one in the day time so I can show it off a little bit better but I’m gonna switch it to night Time in a minute anyway let’s talk about what we’ve got going on here so let’s start at the beginning the same as we’ve done with the other ones I basically did the same thing that I did with the other two I just made it a little bit longer So I dug the terrain back made the pathway longer but I scattered in the mossy and a cobblestone around with slabs to give it some variety and to give us some texture and that’s all that’s really going on there now as for the actual portal itself it’s a very Different look that we went for but I wanted to try something different and I think it looked pretty cool so the kind of aesthetic that I was going here for was something like the stranger things portals I don’t have you ever seen stranger things but in that show they’ve got these Portals that kind of link the upside-down and the regular world and so you can kind of push through it it doesn’t necessarily look exactly like this but I got inspired by the look which we’ll go into in a little bit so first things first what we did we built Up the terrain to make a much larger cliff face that we can add this portal in because I knew that it was going to be a much larger portal and so once that was done and I had an idea of the shape of the pool I wanted to go for like an Oval kind of portal something a bit more interesting but obviously I was doing it to kind of match the design of the stranger things portal as well and so obviously you saw me building at a time but I want to have a quick look inside As well so if I just flip through we can go onto the inside of the portal because I don’t want to actually go through the portal and this is kind of what we’ve got going on here I decided to dig out inside the cliff face and make a fake nether Now again I’ve done this previously in transformation builds and whatnot but I think it gives off such a good aesthetic and vibe it’s as if you’re looking into the portal you can see through it as to what you’re about to enter so the whole illusion is that you want to be able to Look through the portal from here panicky a glimpse of what’s to come so I’ve also included a few sheets of different stained glass between the nether portal that’s there and the fake neder on the other side obviously I don’t have to include this but I wanted To try adding this into it because what tends to happen when you add a multi layering of different colored glass is that it kind of makes a foggy and smoky effect happen and so it’s not quite as clear as it might be obviously if it Wasn’t there if I was to get rid of it it would look clear as daylight but the whole thing that I was kind of going for with the stranger things portal is it looks like there’s kind of a sheen between this world and that world and if You want to get into it then you’re gonna got a push through the barrier and break into that world and so as for the exterior side of the pool the whole idea obviously is the same thing with the stranger things portal is to make it look like the nether is seeping out into The overworld and so that’s kind of what we’ve got going on here we’ve got these tentacles and veins of the nether rack and the nether bricks kind of embossed into the cliff face and then my favorite part about the build honestly are these stringy bits of red nether brick that Kind of arc across each side of the portal it makes it look very like almost meaty and fleshy but it looks very cool and I’m kind of happy with how it turned out honestly it gives a very unique kind of look to it and it makes it look more Like the actual portal is alive and it’s kind of eating into the overworld and so then obviously to finish things off I just included these large pools of lava because why not to make things look more menacing and yeah and so yeah now that you’ve seen in the daytime this is what It looks like about night time and it does look menacing it looks really good honestly I’m actually really happy with how it turns out just look at it look at how evil that looks so as we walk up to it it is just the kind of thing that was talking about earlier It gets you very intrigued and makes you want to go through it even though it looks horrifying it gets you very intrigued and yeah you want to jump into it and obviously with these shaders on it makes them absolutely crazy like look at the lava it’s just so bright anyway I hope you Guys enjoyed this build and obviously if you did then let me know by liking the video and like I said at the beginning if you’re new around here and you’re not subscribed already then consider it see what happens stick around and obviously if you don’t like the concert that I’m making then You can unsubscribe anyway aside from all of that I will see you guys in the next video You Video Information
