Welcome everyone to a brand new series called piece by pizza please make it to the end there we go piece by Pizza everyone that was very loud but unlike this intro this is not going to be a very destructive series it’s actually going to be very constructive because I’m Going to be teaching you how to build piece by Pizza get it it’s the name of the series before you actually start building you need to decide where you’re going to build your well your building and this depends on a couple things it depends on what you’re building it Depends on what scenery you want and it depends on well other factors like if you’re playing on a multiplayer server how close do you want to be to other people is it a shopping districts what have you so example a I’m not going to build here Because it’s a crater that I just made and I don’t really want to build in a crater at least not yet so we’re gonna move somewhere else for now let’s say we want to move right here next to the crater but still kind of out of eyesight but you want to consider What kind of biome you want to be in how much terraforming you might be willing to do and don’t worry we’ll get into terraforming and stuff in the next few episodes but this is entirely your opinion whatever wherever you build is totally based on what you’re building if You think it would fit in well for example you can build a castle in many many different places you could build an underground castle for like some sort of underground Society you can build a castle just in the middle for planes as like a little nice A very peaceful Kingdom you can build a castle on top of a mountain and make it look like it’s a really sturdy hardened Fortress against Invaders wherever you end up building can actually influence the feel of the entire design whether that’s what you intended or not So you have to keep that in mind next you have to decide what you’re going to build and because I don’t really care what I build I have three of the most basic types of builds in this in this dropper and we get modern house all right so we’re going to be building A modern house that’s what I’ve decided after you’ve done that and you’ve decided what you want to build you have to figure out one of the most important things of any build actually if anything it might be the most important thing the shape of the build and if you’re thinking what Peach above This is just a block game everything is going to be made of Cubes well you’re wrong because despite this being a block game you can have way more intricate shapes than just a box house but just look at the general shape of these two buildings which one catches your eye more the square Or the many different squares melded into one and if you’re like most people it’s probably this one because the more interesting shapes you have in your build the more interesting the build is going to be it’s pretty simple now these are both very bad examples of modern houses because I just threw this Together in five minutes but as you can see the shape the extra Dimension and the shape of this one just gives it so much more character than this one because it’s hard to explain but it’s just it’s just more interesting for the eye to look at You can even take it down from a top-down perspective and since they’re very blocky colors it’s easier to see but shape is probably the most important thing you’re gonna have to pay attention to when you’re in the preliminary phases of your build when I’m in survival mode Or even creative I like to Mark things out with wool so let’s say I wanted to build a little castle so I’m going to have my initial area here and we’ll make it and make it about that big and let’s say I wanted a tower here And then I can just Mark how high that goes so we’ll make it go up here I want to have a little side area here that’s just kind of like a greenhouse so we can just do that that and that and then we’ll say that this one will have a second layer again Very gross and disgusting and I hate it but you get the idea you want to lay out what you’re doing with some kind of marker block that you’re not actually using in the build itself wool is a particular good one um and different colors can help you distinguish between what areas or which After you’ve determined shape the next thing you’re going to want to determine is to color palette now I’m kind of going to ignore modern houses because I’m very bad at modern houses in comparison to everything else I do at least so let’s talk about something I am familiar with Roman brick fortresses and If you’ve been watching my echocraft series which you should definitely do by the way subscribe so you can go watch those when those come out you’ll know that my megabase is in the style of a Roman Fortress in the mountaintops but that color palette isn’t like something That was just in the books right for me to use I had to I had to create that or at least get inspiration from other builds and look at this so some of them are white they’ve got like Grays and whites and you could go that route or You could do what I did and you can go with like the more Brown route and I took a creative Liberty and decided to make it a little bit more interesting and took some red from the Roman idea as well so I want Reds and Browns to be my main Color palette obviously they’re made of bricks so let’s get bricks oh here’s another one mud bricks that’s a nice brown color so we’ve got bricks and we’ve got mud bricks but unfortunately these two don’t work particularly well together as you can see they’re kind of clashing a little bit if you just do This like yeah I mean they work but it doesn’t really make sense there’s no they Clash they’re just one block next to another it doesn’t make a ton of sense but you still want to use both of these in the same color palette so let’s look for some other blocks that might work Um oh Granite might work let’s see here so granite mixes pretty well with both of these blocks it might be a good a good middle block Ed mud the derivative of mud so yeah you can see that nice transition there um let’s keep going further down the list And ooh drips down drips that might work let’s try drip Stone as well so there you go this is the color palette that I use for my Fortress you can see the kind of progression between the two there’s one little outlier here you just use these ones in moderation Now if I really wanted to go above and beyond I can add extra stuff I can add jungle planks since in it that looks better I could add uh Brown mushroom blocks that works pretty good A little bit too smooth for my taste so maybe I don’t Want to use that this is obviously wood so maybe I wouldn’t want to use that either really want to be special you can use rooted dirt that works well with the color palette you could do polished Granite you could do Mangrove that’s pretty dark so maybe Don’t use that but again you have tons of options and this works with every color scheme you have tons of options for things to use in your different color palettes and it doesn’t necessarily have to just make sense based on the material especially if it’s a bigger build it’s gonna blend In It’s Gonna it’s going to look right if you mix it with other blocks that look like they match but let’s stick with this because this is what I’ve used before so we’re gonna want a few different types of things to go with it so maybe I want a roof color And I want to try to keep the red so uh let’s go mangrove we’ve got Mangrove here make sure it kind of looks good with all these blocks yep Mangrove looks good with all of them um I want things for doors and supports and floors and windows so let’s get some Spruce here Yes Bruce Spruce goes really well for it so I need something for floors um if you want to go basic you can go something like cobblestone and I think I’ll leave the Cobblestone alone because it’s already varied enough but maybe maybe you don’t want to do That maybe you want to mix it with some some stone bricks on the edges which go pretty well together or maybe if you want to mix something else in with the stone bricks you mix in it makes an andesite like that and there you go now you’ve got a perfect palette Of blocks that you’re using all you need to do is find one or two base blocks find some stuff that matches that find stuff for the roof find stuff for accessories buying stuff for the floor you can do this in any order you’ll like and there you go now you’ve got a Palette that you can use so you’ve got your location you’ve got what you want to build you’ve got the shape that you want and you’ve got the color and you’ve got the palette of blocks that you want and those are the first preliminary steps to building wall in Minecraft next Episode we’ll talk about the basics of the of exterior building such as the order that you place your blocks in what what you build first and what you build last the details that you put on the outside to make it look better and depths the d word of building depth The all-important depth and if you want to become a better Builder piece by piece make sure to hit that subscribe button and if there’s already another episode out be sure to go check it out and if there’s not just wait a little bit I’ll be sure to have another one up Soon thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you in the next one bye Video Information
