Hey everyone today we’re gonna have a look at how you can copy and paste a structure in minecraft education edition okay awesome so in regards to your structures inside minecraft we’ve been able to for a while to export them as 3d objects and then we Could kind of take them out of the world use them in powerpoint or take them to a 3d printer or 3d paint all of this really fun stuff but you’ve never been to kind of like build something and then like go well i want that again But i don’t want to start from scratch i just want to kind of like copy and paste and fortunately you can now which is really great so what we’re going to do today is we have this log house here and we’re going to put a second one So to do this we have to use something called the structure block so to get the structure block we go enter and then we go forward slash give and then at s for self and then we write structure block and there it is there so we hit enter and that will drop down Into your hot bar at the bottom there then what i want to do is i need to find one of the corners inside this space where it’s going to make this as easy as possible so if i just kind of pop down the structure block here you’ll kind of notice how This is the box framing that it’s trying to grab so it’s going here um from one direction to the other and it kind of helps to kind of pop it down first and to see where it’s going to sit so in regards to this build the best place to probably put this Will be over here in this corner so i want to grab that roof line so i’m going to roughly about here so i pop it down and it’s starting to form now you can see that these white lines aren’t capturing the entire build so we do need to make some adjustments to that So we open up our structure block there it is this is what it’s going to copy so far but i’m like well that’s not the right thing so we need to make some adjustments to our offsets and our sizings so if we look at here we’ve got This red line here red is the x so if i follow this along i think to myself well it’s obviously there’s more house to the left so that means that this number here needs to increase so if i put it to about 10 okay i can kind of feels like i’m almost there Okay but also what i want to do because i kind of like it to be very precise is see here where we have the structure block on the right hand side i don’t really want that and nor do i want the piece of land next to it so there’s two Blocks there i don’t want so i want to offset it by two so i dump it in and then so that’s nice and hard on that wall now i’m gonna leave that we might need that but it might adjust it in the end but we’ll wait and see so let’s do The next one i like to do the blue line here this is the z-axis so if i come down to my z here let’s work with similar numbers because it was relatively and i start to have a look okay i can see the front door there it’s Not looking too bad let’s do the y let’s bring that up 10 as well okay and that’s starting to make a little bit more sense so i can see from here it’s not looking too bad i’ve probably got this block here i can see um on the let’s spin it around this is The blue line so the um the zed so i’m going to get rid of that one so that tightens that up a little bit that’s starting to look better and then i can just kind of see that this fit this roof is missing a little bit Okay so we’re looking there at the um the red line okay so i might just bring that back one there we go and that looks pretty good i pretty much got the whole house in there perfectly the only thing i don’t like about this is i actually kind of don’t want this Grass level here at the bottom because i’m going to just sit it on the grass anyway so i don’t need to take that with me so what you’ll notice block here will default to negative one but it’s gonna change that to zero and that just grabs The house so that looks pretty good to me i’m not gonna worry about this one block at the top so what you then need to do is give it a name so here we’ve got to make sure mode we’re actually in safe it seems to default there now used to default to This one 3d export but just make sure you’re here on save and then we give it a name so i’m going to call it um log house there we go happy with that and then going to click save we don’t go expo go save and it’s Going to save it to the internal memory in the game exporting is more for when you want to take this from one world to another world and there’s a separate video up with the link in the description below on how you would do that so that’s all saved i’m going to jump Out okay and i want to put um another one of these houses maybe over here it’s kind of like maybe we’re building a little bit of a village and so you can always pause and kind of look and see if you’re happy with the boxings around each shape now as i come Over here to put this down it’s always good to note that the structure block maximum dimensions are 64 by 64 which means that you won’t be able to make those numbers go any bigger than that so i normally recommend that if you are intending to do this on a build that you Actually put the structure block down and fully expand it and then you know the space that you’re building in so let’s open up this guy there it is pretty standard five by five by five now we don’t change any of these numbers we go straight here and switch From save to load so we click on load and then you must write the same naming conventions that you use um from each one and you’ll know you’ve got it right because it picks it up and it knows that there is something that’s going to go there that’s going to fit Inside this dimensions here now you’ll see that it’s captured this grass which means it would technically put our build into that grass space and i don’t want that so i’m just going to go and change that to zero and now that’s going to sit directly on top of the grass And you could just go load from there but you can do the thing where you can rotate them so if we scroll down a little bit i can choose to rotate that 90 degrees and for this one i’m going to do it just to kind of show you how it Works but essentially you know in this case it’s necessary because i might want all my houses to be facing inwards to each other so they’re kind of basically like building like a little town square and so i can rotate that build click load and then there it is There so if i go back here we can see an exact replica of the same structure and this one here has been rotated 90 degrees inwards so that is how you can copy one structure um in the same world there is a separate video the link is in the Description of how you could actually take this structure and take it from this world and paste it in to another world anyway i hope you found that super useful and that you will find an opportunity to use it in your classrooms until next time i will see you then bye Video Information
