This is a very basic first attempt at randomly switching between different terrain; mountains, hills, plains and sea. This is all generated using a custom terrain generator for the Spigot Minecraft server, written in Java.
You can probably see it’s inherently linear in how it can switch between different terrain. It has to transition through hills to get from plains to mountains, or through plains to get from sea to hills, so hills can never be next to the sea, nor mountains next to plains. Going to need improve on that.
My plan is to put the source code on github. However I need to spend a bit of time curating the source code before that happens.
Also I’m hoping to add commentary to videos in future, once I set up a means of recording.
