Thank you so much that was uh literally perfect welcome back to the minecraft guide episode number 140. last episode we made a really good uh development really really good actually look at this right here enchanted pickaxe and not only enchanted pickaxe basically the best enchanted pickaxe possible oh okay okay well buddy calm Down i take it back not the best big ax possible but it does have fortune three which is really good in the last episode i also talked about wanting to change grim a little bit today we’re gonna do it and also we’re gonna add another new Build to this spot right here the trees are in the way though so i think that’s a good spot to start aha yep that should be good took out a couple trees most of the build is gonna sit right there but first amethyst i need amethyst for What we’re gonna do today we’re gonna need at least a couple stacks of amethyst right now not looking too good at all actually 33 blocks of amethyst plus 60 more 49. that’s better than i thought but still not very good today’s guide episode is all about farming amethyst and this one i’m going To go over pretty much every single possible way that you could think of to fire mammoths including the best possible way if you liked today’s video remember to leave a like and subscribe the geode ah the geode we’re back this is basically going to be our home today So the devs have actually built so many ways to farm amethyst into the game the first way is definitely the worst uh you could if you wanted to this is gonna be really painful uh you can actually break this up with your hand actually but you will only get two amethyst sharp Every single time not very good at all the next way a little bit better you could break this with like a normal pickaxe iron diamond nether right no enchantments and it gets better uh twice as good for amethyst shard every single time conveniently 4 am at the shard is Exactly what you need for an amethyst block not bad at all but at the same time it’s actually kind of terrible like like that’s really really bad enchantments specifically fortune amazing perfect perfection perfect so fortune pretty much the best 1.17 enchantment definitely carries over to amethyst as well fortunate will 100 Absolutely multiply the amount of amethysts you get especially if you have fortune 3. if you were to mine a fully grown amethyst cluster with a fortune 1 pickaxe you’d have a 1-3 chance to get 8 amethyst sharks average it out that’s going to equal about 5 shards per amethyst cluster Fortune 2 of course it gets even better with fortune 2 you’ll have a 50 chance to get four shards or a 25 chance to get eight or a 25 percent chance to get 12 shards 12 yeah let’s get it really really good no that’s gonna average out to seven shards Per am at this cluster with fortune two fortune three though the way to go if possible definitely wait to mine amethyst until you have fortune three because with a fortune three you’d have a twenty percent chance to get either eight amethyst shards uh 12 or 16 from a single cluster Average everything out on that one and you end up with an average of almost 9 am of the shards per cluster fortune 3 absolutely the way to go but physically mining these things on your own actually isn’t technically the only way to go there is another option over in a completely different test World check this out piston plates right there a power source and then an amethyst cluster if i power this piston uh break the cluster with it i actually end up with two amethyst shard it’s not the best at all nowhere near it actually but it is an option because of this Functionality it actually makes it possible to fully automatically mine amethyst cluster is it going to be easy uh no way no way it’s not going to be an easy or a clean process at all but it is technically possible this setup could end up looking like a couple different things but most likely You’ll be using pistons sticky pistons observers hoppers for collection maybe comparators other redstone and definitely some kind of water funnel at the bottom of the thing uh but it’s not gonna look clean like like at all a lot of people have actually ran tests on this stuff there are a ton of videos On youtube that you can check out for automatic amethyst farms uh like some of the ones you’re seeing here not this one there are a ton of designs out there for automatic amethyst shard farms but they’re messy and they require potentially a lot of materials a lot of materials that i Actually don’t even have in my survival world right now so these amethyst clusters grow on these buddy amateurs blocks keep in mind that you can’t move these blocks which is going to make farming these things even harder if you try and actually move these things uh they will break and once they Break they’re literally gone forever so you’re gonna have to just work with basically what you have here automatically farming amethyst is gonna require a lot of setup work too first you’re gonna have to go to your geode and clear out all of the other amethyst blocks all of the calcite And probably all the smooth basalt too you’re gonna have to get rid of all the blocks in the way then you’re gonna have to go and gather a bunch of materials for redstone things come back take a look at the blocks that you can actually use and hopefully set something up You’re gonna have to be really careful when you’re setting stuff up though because if you accidentally power something and break a block that’s a huge loss you’re gonna wanna have as many of these budding amethyst blocks as possible and yeah even losing one not good eventually you end up with a room that Looks nothing like what i have right here uh you put water at the bottom of it flowing towards one side kind of like a smaller farm or something it’ll move all of the amethyst shard over to that side of the room you put hoppers over there and everything gets picked up Oh yeah and you set up some kind of complex piston thing around these budding amethyst blocks to actually harvest the m of the shards you put that complex piston thing on some sort of timer uh kind of like this right here uh where we send items back and forth on Some kind of timer definitely not this fast but some kind of timer to power the pistons every once in a while and uh keep in mind if a piston powers on one of these ones that isn’t fully grown it’s just gone and you start over from scratch again And finally keep in mind with fortune 3 you have a potential to get a maximum of 16 amethyst shards from a single cluster that’s actually kind of insane with a piston you have the potential to get two every single time and it’s gonna be two amethyst shard hey I mean 16 versus two i mean i guess 100 chance to get you every time 20 chance to get 16. but when mine with a big axe your minimum every time is actually gonna be four so it just starts off better uh the designs are really nice and all Uh they just require a lot of work and to be honest i don’t think it’s worth it i don’t think it’s worth at all i think they’re kind of pointless so maybe don’t waste your time with it but if you want to there are a ton of Tutorials on youtube the designs are out there i’m sure they’re amazing and nothing against them i just think it makes more sense to mine it manually uh but mining this stuff manually requires patience time and patience so we’re gonna have to wait for this stuff to actually grow today also right now Not optimal at all a single block is gonna have six different sides we have one two uh three four on the other side five six budding amethyst yep a single minecraft block it also has six sides kind of exactly like what’s going on over here amethyst clusters can Actually grow on every single side of the budding amethyst block and at the same time too as long as there’s room i love this geode and its natural state pretty much not optimal at all if i want to speed this process up a little bit today which definitely then i’m Going to want to actually come in here and start digging out some of these other amethyst blocks now i’m going to be kind of selective with this process i don’t want to completely ruin the geode if we’re talking maximum efficiency though dig the entire geod out get rid of every Single block that isn’t budding amethyst so all of the budding amethyst is exposed and then you wait you know maybe i’m kind of crazy but i actually don’t mind it i actually don’t mind it i think i’ve gone mad from the amethyst i i don’t mind this look maybe we’ll just Leave it like this from a farm functionality standpoint this is like a million times better there are so many budding amethyst blocks that i found like hidden like back here completely buried would have never seen them before this thing is getting so much better and technically it’s still Like so far from maximum efficiency because we have the ceiling body game of this blocks i have budding amethyst box up there like this one every side of these butting blocks should be exposed all the way like completely i don’t know if i’m gonna do that exactly but honestly I might just leave the geode like this like it kind of ruined the clean aesthetic which i really loved i really did like it and i wanted to preserve it but it’s so much more functional like like this is gonna work so much better and look at this this is the big thing One stack two stacks sixteen more oh yeah and then four more from the name of the shard all right so we put that one over there to be fair this is what we started with like from mining it and then two more ammo this shard uh This is what i got from digging this thing out and 11 blocks of calcite this stuff is literally perfect yeah not bad not bad at all i i think i might leave the geode like this i think i might so i have noticed one thing though uh digging out the the amethyst blocks Insanely fast with the diamond pickaxe yeah yeah maybe not it would be really bad to misfire and break a budding amethyst block because of stuff mine’s so quick yeah there would be no going back instead to make sure everything goes smoothly and stays safe i’ve been mining out all of the amethyst Blocks with an iron pickaxe i think it’s a little bit better to be honest it’s a tiny bit slower but at the same time not that big of a deal uh and this is what i’ve come up with uh a completely demolished geode but there are so many budding amateurs Blocks that were completely in it like back here like all of those were hidden and look at this they’re growing already this is gonna go really quick i think this is the first time of me actually like paying attention to it and trying to survival test it But i don’t think amethyst grows as slow as pointy drip stone pointed stone was like really bad like it was painful this this shouldn’t be a problem so the target here is gonna be two stacks like additional stacks not including any of this of amethyst shards What i can do is count these ones because i mined those so there was three there and i can count the ones that were in here that i’ve already mined in total that’s gonna be eight stacks of amethyst shards condense them down into two stacks of blocks It sounds like a lot but i don’t think it’s gonna be that bad at all i got really lucky here like really really lucky the only thing better about this geode uh could be the positioning like if this were closer to the base so i could do Things at the base uh while this stuff is growing that would be amazing but it’s not like that but there are so many budding amethyst blocks here like it’s actually kind of crazy the next move isn’t going to be fun but i have to do it I’m going to have to wait around afk and this geod and just let these things grow oh yeah and by the way if i haven’t said yet uh you can’t really fortune the earlier stages doesn’t work at all you’re gonna need to wait for these Things to fully grow up like all the way uh then you can mine them but look at this here’s another one right there uh only four if i can get a string of like really lucky ones and get like a couple of 16s in a row this stick is going to go So quickly if i don’t i still think it’s going to go pretty fast there are so many budding amethyst blocks here have i said that yet so what i’m working on what i want to do next i can definitely use these blocks as long as i don’t put them back on the geo Don’t think i will but for our tests here uh only these ones count my plan is to literally just stand around by this yield like in the middle of the geode for a little while uh probably edit the part of the episode that you’ve watched so far And just wait i might clear out a little bit more of the geode but at the same time i’m in a pretty happy spot like there are a couple blocks that i’m seeing uh they could go like this one right here but yeah i’m pretty content with what I’ve cleared out so far if it gets painful i’ll come back and probably clear more out but i don’t anticipate this being bad at all if i could wait for a six-pointed drip stone i i could definitely see myself waiting for eight stacks of amethyst shard Uh yeah yeah yeah for sure and if this gets painful and this is only if it’s like really really bad but if i have to i could come back clear out a couple more blocks and then just go mine in the ravine over here there’s a ravine nearby i have Fortune three i can get a bunch of iron but i don’t think i’m gonna have to do that like honestly honestly i think i could just stand around and wait so time to wait geocheck i’m back i’m busy i i’ve been busy i’ve been editing for a while Check this out i kept track of the first three stacks that i got here stack number one was right here fit perfectly in this top row stack number two is in the middle row right there it actually goes a little bit over and then stack number three right here Is the bottom row uh what i’m seeing here is a lot of force but at the same time it hasn’t been bad at all so now i’m not really keeping track i’m just throwing things in a chest and uh watch this maybe i’ll get really lucky here I will mind that we’ll mine that uh we’ll mine this one over here well mine uh this one up here all over the place these things do grow pretty quickly and then if i can try and find everything look at that 36 amethyst yard right there like 36 like That’s crazy there’s even more over here yeah you know this goes like pretty quickly honestly point to drip stone mining i hate it it was miserable worst thing in my life ever but this oh man this is not bad at all i literally like like i just rake in the Profits so 64 and four more yeah i definitely clear out the g out a little bit and it’s so easy look there’s even more up there oh no this is so easy look at this i’m basically almost done here so that’s three stacks that’s four five This is going to be six i only need two more stacks and then i’m good over here i have all of these materials now i did clear out a little bit more but yeah for the most part the geode is pretty much the same as you saw it last time And it’s all just going really well like this is really really uh like painless like it’s pretty good i would definitely say though from experience here definitely absolutely clear out as many blocks as possible like expose as many sides of these things and maybe find something else to do in in The meantime because if i were standing around here uh just waiting and watching these yeah yeah then it would get really painful but because i have something else to do at the same time it’s not bad at all like i just come back every once in a while and check And there’s just even more amethyst for me look at this look at this i’m so amazed this is going so quick and i love it why would you ever automate this don’t don’t automate it don’t do it one of the trickiest parts here that i am finding though is um Getting around here because it could be kind of tricky to like climb these amethyst uh tickets are like hard to reach one so maybe in the future we clean this thing up and make it look like a little better easier to get around but at the same Time i mean it’s not the worst thing in the world it could be worse just a little bit more afk for me probably not very much longer and then we’ll be good so time to wait i have a confession uh it went well like really really well I didn’t talk longer than i thought uh what i ended up doing is i would stand here come back every once in a while check what was ready to go harvest was ready to go throw it all inside of a chest uh that chest right there and then i would do it again I would wait here eventually the enderman showed up uh yep that one right there made me really nervous kind of ruined the afk session but i have a confession it went well uh yeah yeah yeah it went really well exceeded all expectations in fact it went twice as well As i thought if i counted right pretty sure i did 16 sex we’re looking at 16 stacks of aim of the shards right now ah that should be enough i really hope that that’s enough the one thing that i didn’t think to do is actually keep track of how long i was afk But it was a long time but to fully immerse you in today’s experience this is what it’s been like so i come back every once in a while i harvest this i harvest that uh there’s one over here ready to go oh that’s ready to go too I’ll harvest that oh there’s another one over here i’ll harvest that one uh looks like there’s a couple up here we’ll get that um nope just one no no that one is two okay not bad off to a solid start but there’s definitely more that one’s ready To go this one’s ready to go now moving around this thing does get a little bit tricky especially as these things start to fill in but once they get cleared out it gets a little bit easier now these things grow so quick like insanely fast it shouldn’t even be legal Honestly how easy this thing has been today i mean like i said i afk for a long time did take a while but the amount of effort that i have to put in compared to the amount of shards that i get out of this thing it shouldn’t be legal it literally Shouldn’t here’s a couple more that’s ready to go that’s ready to go this is ready to go back there so is that one right there and that one look at that that’s going crazy oh there’s one by the enderman two uh maybe a couple that’s too bad it’s so Easy it feels like game breaking almost like cheating like this is so easy to get so many amethyst shards look at that three more stacks and a half all right that looks pretty fun but that’s enough for you today sir i will uh see you later Yeah so the enderman kind of ruined the whole thing but uh big tip uh from doing this definitely give the budding amethyst blocks room to breathe the more sides that you open up the faster this is going to go i have kate a long time i also feel like I got pretty lucky with this geo that’s a really good geode but it’s so easy so i think that’s gonna be that for this geo oh no oh no i have so many shards that the other shards won’t fit in my inventory i guess it’s time to compact this stuff Down i think that’s going to be it for the geode today though now that we have all these amethyst blocks we could actually do the builds that i wanted to do that’s going to end up with three four five and four more stacks plus this and that plus all of the Amethysts that i took off of the geode ah that’s like nine stacks okay okay i guess eight stacks and seventeen more uh-huh that’s my bad there also was a thunderstorm while i was down there so hopefully not too much of the forest burn down looks pretty good over here Maybe there’s a skeleton horse that would be really cool but from what i found if you have time afk by a geode fortune 3 there’s no need to automate the thing that would be silly you wouldn’t get as many amethyst just afk fortune 3 all the way 100 Oh i completely forgot about these damages blocks here too yeah look at that nine stacks so amethyst is a really interesting block uh of course first we have the texture it’s a nice looking texture it might be a little hard to work with but i like it It’s a nice texture but the cool thing is of course when you hit it there’s the noise you walk on it ah there’s the noise it’s really faint but there’s the noise and then when you place it there’s the noise too it’s an amazing sounding block definitely great for a floor Really good for a ceiling maybe a roof too depending on how you do it and then other builds too now this is a special moment we have nine stacks of amethyst block it’s not every day that i could actually say that i think to commemorate this moment right Here we need to add a build this build i think would sit in this area over here if i raise the land up just a little bit uh like this it’s not gonna be the biggest thing in the world um yeah yeah yeah probably like this okay maybe a little bit more something Like that i’ll push it back if i have to and then the build so this is gonna be a simple build it’s gonna be a little bit big but not that big i think it’ll be like this shape right here this should probably be a pretty good shape Hopefully i can work with that and then it’s going to be kind of tall but at the same time it’s not really going to be very tall at all like four blocks right here uh three blocks right there that’ll look good i think three there uh three here same thing on the front It sounds beautiful it sounds beautiful building with ham of this box these things are so amazing now we have a lot of aim at this blocks but that doesn’t mean i can afford to lose any so if i drop any on the inside i’m gonna have to break my way back Inside that’s what i was just doing there yeah definitely can’t lose the aim of this blocks so this build is gonna be a pretty simple build uh what we’re gonna want to do is start like that we have a pretty solid base now now we can start going up and getting a little Bit more um interesting anytime i have a block that isn’t going to be c it can’t be amethyst i need to conserve these aim of this blocks i mean seriously i have a lot of amethyst blocks right now it’s it’s in a really good spot but if i just use them everywhere then I’m not gonna have a lot so while i set this build up and by the way what it is is totally unimportant right now don’t worry about it while i set this build up i’d like to talk a little bit about amethyst itself it’s a very nice block and i love how You farm the thing it’s super unique however i do have one big issue the issue isn’t with amethyst at all it’s pretty much perfect in my eyes it actually has to do with polished amethyst polished amethyst needs to be a thing i mean just imagine it think of all of the potential that That idea has right there polished amethyst a polished block just like granite but like amethyst with the purple oh it’s amazing you don’t even need to think anymore about it it’s it’s the idea it’s right there i really do i sincerely wish that somebody could explain to me why polish amethyst isn’t A thing but i don’t think it’s possible i don’t see a reason as to why polished amethyst isn’t a thing and i also even more importantly don’t see any reason at all as to why polish amethyst shouldn’t be a thing in 1.18 either the amethyst black as it is Is kind of fine i i think it’s good maybe it doesn’t need a stair or a slab version it would be cool but maybe not it’s like kind of breakable but once you polish it oh definitely it gets maybe a little bit cleaner a little bit easier to use than like normal block Pallets and then it gets a slab in the stair version and you could use this stuff to make like statues or yeah like statues or like statues yeah actually no that would be perfect like statues imagine a statue with polished amethyst it would get so easier to build And polish amethyst in general such a big opportunity it would make amethyst so much easier to work with than builds and i think it would be amazing so there’s a statue i’m not 100 sold yet on the shaping but i think it’s pretty good it’s more of a decoration anyways Maybe that tree should go i mean yeah i think that’s good okay so the other amethyst use is up there i have a lot of amethyst left like way more than i would have thought i need to turn that whole spruce roof that one right there Into amethyst blocks okay so this one is a little bit more of a risk i honestly don’t know how it’s gonna end up looking i hope it looks really really good i don’t know how it’s gonna end up looking though i haven’t really ever used amethyst in the build yet i think It’ll look good though like i mean the amethyst with the with the grimstone like that’s a good combination i think it should work now as long as i can be careful converting this roof over to amethyst is gonna be pretty easy all that i need to do is take a spruce Plank out replace a couple with amethyst and then i could just kind of repeat that process over and over and over again on the entire tower and hopefully i don’t regret it hopefully this just works out perfectly and it looks amazing as is with the amethyst blocks I’m really hoping here that that’s gonna be the case but i’m also insanely nervous now i also haven’t slept in like a long time in fact maybe the longest time that i haven’t ever slept in this world i’m gonna try and keep not sleeping maybe phantoms maybe actually not that i Think about this this is a really bad idea from up here uh but maybe phantoms will start spawning and then when the phantoms spawn i could take them out yeah yeah yeah yeah just like that i could no okay okay okay uh well yeah maybe a bad idea oh hold on the Amethyst kind of match the phantom though that’s kind of cool i mean it’s not that bad if i could just stand in like a safe corner like this spot right here yeah oh yeah okay okay now i’m gonna sleep i also feel like amethyst shouldn’t be a spawnable block like mob Just shouldn’t be able to spawn on it i don’t know why i just feel like it should be that way oh no oh no this is not good i love amethyst and i think it looks really cool it’s a very nice block but i don’t know if amanda should be up there Like i was looking at the whole build and i like the idea right i think i love the idea i really like amethyst i do however it’s gonna make the tower look really weird i think i don’t know i don’t know i might take it down and do something Else it’s time oh it’s finally time long overdue so long delayed oh no oh no do i really not have a feather i don’t have a feather well we’ll have to make a new book uh next time for today’s comment of the day we’re doing a subreddit update Me every time waddles talks about the orb exactly yes somebody gets it yes the orb so kind of like last episode this one’s getting a little bit long so we won’t have time to check out the orb today but but soon we’ll have to check out the Orbs soon so uh here’s what i came up with i returned the tower to its original form it looks so much better like that and i add fences this time the fences look a lot better there’s the statue over there i thought about maybe adding a couple more of those statues But i kind of wanted to put a different build right in there so i didn’t do it i think those statues right there could look cool maybe lining over here like i just built a couple over there but there’s also something else i wanted to put over there We’re adding today’s episode with a lot of amethyst blocks actually conveniently perfectly seven so the tower the great tower unfortunately no amethyst tower on the top i think it’s gonna look really weird but instead amethyst black ceiling it’s not as good as the floor where you can hear it but it’s the ceiling And then we have so many extra aim of this blocks for other builds which is good this room definitely needs like an end rod
