Today’s how to build is on a minecraft iron golem if you like this video check out all my other minecraft videos with over 140 comments requesting it the iron golem is the most requested build ever i’m feeling slightly under the weather today so please excuse me if my voice is A little bit different than normal let’s get started building the tiniest scale so the key part in this model is this uh t connector piece so we’re gonna take this and two of these one by one plates with clips and connect it on and do one that way one that way We’re going to take two 1×1 plates in light gray and you’ll notice that i’m mixing old and new light gray here the iron golem has subtle variations of gray throughout so i thought it was okay to mix those grays then for the arms if you have them i’m using these hook Pieces so pirates have them one in light gray and then if you have it one in transparent green to represent the arm that’s covered in all the leaves and stuff if you don’t have those another piece that would work are these robot pinch pot arms they come in light gray so That’s another option for the arms and now your iron golem is ready to protect your villagers from zombies now let’s build the micro mob scale these are the pieces you’ll need for the micro mod scale iron golem start with a pair of short minifigure legs in light gray Then we’ll take a brick with a stud on one side in lime and place it on and one in light gray and place that on i should note that it’s hard to pull these bricks off it’s a very tight connection so be careful for the arms we’re going To take one of these 1 by 2 plates with a clip on the end stick on one side for the other arm we’re gonna take the same plate put some lime and green tiles on it that represents all the plant growth on the iron golem same as that lime headlight brick there Stick it on the side take a offset plate click it on the top for the head we’re going to do a dark gray plate with circle clip regular plate in light gray and a tile to top it off and there we have our iron golem another option for the arms is to use 1×3 tiles connect them on like that these work pretty well except that you have them all the way down the uh golem can’t really stand on lego ground the reason i chose this plate with the clip on the end is it’s slightly longer than A 1 by 2 plate but not quite one by three long so that’s able to fit on the arm here really well and not go all the way down but go a little bit up so i like that but uh the tiles work as well if you prefer that option tiles Now let’s build the minifig scale iron golem these are the pieces you’ll need for the legs and torso of the minifig scale iron golem take two bricks with studs on all four sides and a technic brick and connect them in a line like so then put some tiles and a plate On the top if you don’t have those pieces an alternative way to build this is with a 1 by 3 plate flip it upside down then take some 1 by 1 bricks with stud on one side this will have fewer connections but it’s the best approximation Of this that you can make without having uh travis bricks gonna connect one by three tile on the back here a 1 by 2 tile on the front put this aside for a second for the legs we’re going to take some 1 by 3 tiles and then fill them in with a 1 by 2 plate in light gray and a 1 by 1 plate in black build a second leg just like that one take a one by one brick with studs on two sides put a one by one tile on top and then connect the legs to that center piece and then connect the Upper torso to the legs now the last thing we’re going to do is cover this side of it with vines to take one of these foliage pieces and we’re going to cut off those two things so it looks like that so this is getting into lego modification So if you’re not comfortable with that i’ll show you an alternate way to do that but first let’s put this foliage piece on i’m gonna use some of these berries in lime and conveniently there’s these nice little holes here that we can stick them into So that is the build for the legs and torso an alternate option if you don’t want to modify your lego bricks take a 1 by 4 plate in green and then some of these uh lime 1 by 2 cheese grater pieces could use that as a sort of a similar Effect these are the pieces you’ll need for the arms and head of the minifig scale iron golem the right arm of the iron golem is simply a 1 by 4 plate and a 1 by 4 tile the left arm is going to be a 1 by 4 Plate and then we’re going to take one of these foliage pieces and we’re going to cut off all four of these side pieces making it basically a 1 by 4 weird looking plate piece but now you can stick a lime berry piece in there to get again the different coloration of the Ivy that grows on the iron golem that’s the other arm uh if you don’t want to modify your lego pieces just take a 1 by 4 plate and some alternating lime and green tiles for the head we’re gonna use one of my favorite pieces for the center of heads A one by one brick with studs on all sides also known as a travis brick the color here doesn’t matter i’m using light gray just for consistency steak but it’s going to be pretty much all covered up so it won’t matter on the front here we’re going to do a one by One plate with clip on the top sticking out on top of that we’re gonna do a red one by one plate with circle clip won’t fully connect here but it’s gonna be close enough and put a one by one plate in light gray on the top here along the Three sides we’ll fill that in with one by two tiles in light gray just flush out the head a little bit for the eyes connect some black 1 by 1 round plates and for the nose we’ll take a 1 by 1 tile in dark gray stick it in the center Put on the right arm so i like to connect this hole into that peg there uh makes it go up a little bit you can also have it hang all the way down here uh depends on how it’s posed for the main position i like it here Sometimes when it’s out i’ll move it down that little peg put the other arm on and then connect the head and now you’ve got your minifig scale iron golem if you don’t like this head option uh here’s the best i could do with actual minifigure heads so take a technic half pin And stick it there and you can connect heads i like this robot head from the robot police from the lego movie the iron golem is kind of a robot and it’s got the big red eyes that the iron golem does uh and then this aviator cap i thought Uh topped it off well this was about the best i could do with the iron golem with minifigure heads and helmets if i had this helmet in silver which it exists in instead of um pearl dark gray that could also make a good head for this golem Here are some other head and helmet combinations i tried for the iron golem over here we’ve got the uh collectible minifigure uh series 1 i believe robot face coupled with an old school space helmet in light gray next to that we’ve got one of the star wars pirate characters with a silver helmet The other star wars alien pirate with a viking style helmet and over here a silver helmet that i shoved a one by one plate with tooth piece on trying to get the nose of the iron golem and now i can’t get that piece out of there So word to the wise be careful when experimenting with different types of lego connections now let’s move on to the three scale iron golem these are the pieces you need for the torso of the three scale iron golem start out with a two by four plate Then take some 1 by 2 technic bricks put one on each side next take a 1 by 1 plate with a open clip on the side put it here then take a corner plate and fill in the rest of that level for the next level take one of these one By one plates with clip put it going that way i ran out of corner plates here so instead i’m going to use a 1 by 2 with a 1 by 1 again i’m mixing old and new light gray this level take another one of these one by one plates with clips Going this way and then fill in again with some 1×2 and a 1 by 1. top off the whole thing with a 2 by 4 plate take some dark gray 1 by 2 grill pieces stick one on each side and fill out the center with a two by Two plate we’re actually going to have it going in this direction these are the pieces you’ll need for the head of the three scale iron golem start with two two by two plates stacked on top of each other then a 1 by 2 brick here then we’re going to do some red and Black one by one round plates two of that for the nose the best piece i could find was this 1×2 plate with the sort of uh 90 degree handle in dark gray that’s the reason that i built the head and the torso upside down was just for This one nose piece another option is the piece i used for the villager nose which is this 1×2 plate with click hinge uh that also works and then you wouldn’t have to build the whole thing upside down and then use some offset plates here at the bottom Now you can take the head and attach it to the torso one of the nice things about building this upside down is that that allows the offset plates to have the head lean forward of the torso like it does in the game these are the pieces you’ll need For the legs of the three scale iron golem for the waist start with this two by two plate take a one by one plate with clip on there and then either a corner plate or some one by twos and one by ones top that all off with a two by two offset plate Then on top of that do one by three plates tile in the center and on this leg we’re going to do two 1 by 1 bricks the other leg will start with a one by one plate with clip take a stack of two 1 by 1 plates Then we’re gonna use one of these one by one bricks with clip on it which i barely used for anything but finally came in handy on the top we’ll do a black plate and a dark gray tile for the foot and we’ll do the same thing on the other leg now And then connect this leg and now we can connect this to the bottom of the torso here these are the pieces you’ll need for the arms of the three scale iron golem take a one by one technic brick then three one by one regular bricks stack those on top Do a one by one dark gray plate over here a light gray plate and tile on the other end and put in a technic pin that is the right arm for the left arm start with a one by one technic brick a dark gray plate with clip going this Way and a light gray plate with clip going that way connect the clips then do a brick and then a clip and a brick and a clip and then at the bottom here just a plate and a tile and then we’re going to connect this With a technic pin as well now we can connect the arms in putting on the right arm and the left arm and now it’s time to add all the plants that grow on top of the iron golem the two pieces i’m going to be using here are the carrot leaf piece And the uh green berry piece i got all these pieces in the bag end set and the green grocer set is where i got all of my berries and leaves from but they’re in some other sets there’ll be links in the descriptions to where you can find these so we’ll start off with A leaf piece going that way we’ll connect these berries into this clip and then bend them up like so do a leaf piece and this clip to a berry piece down here again bend it up that way if we want and then a leaf piece at the bottom on the side Start with a berry at the top bend it around towards the front leaf piece going down from there do a berry piece down here bend that up and a leaf piece at the bottom and then on the back we’ve also got room for a leaf piece here If you don’t have these leaf and berry pieces another option would be to place the clips differently and use dark green vine pieces um they could work as well as sort of the plant growth on the iron golem another thing is that for your mini-fig scale iron golem if you don’t want to Modify those pieces like i showed you you could place some clips on it and use leaf and berry pieces for the plant growth on it instead of those other options i showed you so there’s some different ways you can do plant growth depending on what plant pieces That you have for your iron golem so i wanted to show you another variation on the three scale iron golem this one looks very similar to the one we just finished building however while the head still is built facing down the feet are built the normal way so in the Middle i’ve reversed the direction of the bricks so i’m going to show you how to do that going back to the torso we’re going to take off a couple layers use a brick separator pull off the top layer and then this two by four layer And then on this layer we’re gonna put a one by two tile here and fill the rest in with plate so that’s a 1 by 4 and some one by ones or you could use some corner plates or some one by twos then we’re going to put these dark gray Grill plates back in place we’re gonna put this aside for a second now this is the tricky part here i’m gonna take a 1 by 2 plate with a handle like this and two of these one by one plates with clips connect those together I’m going to put a 1 by 2 tile here i’m gonna bend this down and rebuilding the other part of the waste gonna take a two by two plate one by one plate with clip and fill in with plate around it and now this is going to go on top here And this connects to the torso so you see we’ve replaced the waste and now it’s pointing down now we’re going to take the legs and i’m going to rebuild them so they’re standing up so this used to be 1 by 3 plate and going a different direction But now it’s a 1 by 3 plate the 1 by 1 plate and two 1 by 1 tiles and then the legs i flipped this is now a clip with two one by one plates below it one by one brick with clip and then a black and a dark gray plate At the bottom so that goes on this side and over here it’s just two gray bricks and the black and the dark gray plate so now we’ve rebuilt the legs so that it can stand on regular lego ground as opposed to sliding on top of it So it’s a little bit trickier and the midsection doesn’t look as good but it’s another way to build the iron golem one final note if you take off the end of the iron golem’s arm replace this plate with a plate with clip then you can take this uh flower bouquet piece And put it in his hand and then it can be holding a rose like it sometimes does in minecraft so that’s the minecraft iron golem thanks to everybody who commented asking to see this please send me your comments about what you want me to build next right now the minecraft blaze is winning Thanks for watching the video don’t forget to like this video subscribe to my gonna say um these are the pieces you need for the torso of the three scale thing put it there and i did that wrong i did that wrong no i didn’t um let me show you an alternate way that i built this Uh this was the first way i built it and then i realized it was kind of crazy iron golem on its side without any arms or iv on it yet that was a weird song to sing but i sang it anyway um you could use some of these leaf Pieces if you want on the micro mob scale version as well Video Information
