Hey guys it’s phoenix this is not a feature that was in 1816 nails quite a while ago it’s the biome blend radius this is a new option on the minecraft options file i know some people already made videos on this in particular of course and venom he jumped straight into it because our Content is share some similarities overlaps this is what happens when you set buy and blend radius to negative one i’m not going to go through any other value because i want you guys to try this out for yourselves and honestly it doesn’t really look so good once you Drop down to negative two three four five six or seven try negative one and this is what happens any block that relies on the rendering engine so blocks like leaves water grass they will go crazy you might want to get the seed because i spawned right here There are a bunch of icebergs right here this is a frozen ocean now this is really cool because this almost looks like this is an entirely different land now the transition is so drastic and highlighted now by this that it’s almost like it’s a completely different type of game now what’s going On here and i think what i should probably demonstrate is the the type of blocks which are affected by this these are the blocks which rely on the rendering engine so things that i get they get tinted right so leaves grass water i’m merely just accentuating this by Setting the value to negative one and of course minecraft can’t handle that so let me demonstrate what’s going on if i place a grass block here it looks like it’s in a jungle biome although it’s not now if i continue to place blocks along this axis just notice how The color yeah right there it’s smoothly transitioning until it hits the new biome and now it’s purple or pink now if i place it over here this is a glitch by the way the waters are water blocks are glitched right now notice how the transition just goes crazy it doesn’t work Because minecraft cannot calculate it similarly if i place a water block notice how one side is a lot darker than the other and you have this shrek type water right here which is hilarious right um so uh this is obviously accentuated here now i don’t know why Leaves uh dark blue and then suddenly green here i’m assuming it’s because the biome is uh changing no it’s not so leaves are seem to be an anomaly right here so you can explore this for yourselves you can see that the mathematical outline of the biomes are essentially what’s going on there’s no It’s not going to break this game will not break and if you set it to night time nothing’s going to change it’s simply that the buy and blend radius if i go to the video settings it’s not off it is at a negative number so if you go to a positive number It’s going to be smoothly transitioning if you go to a lower number it’s not going to smoothly transition so if you go lower than that things will get a little bit weird so the colors are almost psychedelic um anyway that’s my opinion so try this out for yourselves it just Looks really cool um in fact i’m going to go to negative 15 just to show you guys why i’m not going through the other values so let me change it to negative 15. i should also point out that if you try values as high as unknown 20 Your game might begin to crash so don’t do that um and just notice how the game just looks kind of normal at negative 15 and you can see it’s beginning to lag a little bit because biome rendering is is of course relying on the rendering engine and any value that minecraft cannot possibly Calculate or handle it will crash your game now i’ve tried it in stream it just doesn’t work so notice how everything just looks kind of bland it’s kind of kind of dry so anything like that isn’t worthwhile showcasing and now even the icebergs look normal Um so they also need to fix yeah you can see it’s starting to lag they also do need to fix the transition here i don’t think icebergs should be near beaches just doesn’t make sense anyway i digress thank you all for watching and thank you to sir bennett for showing me This and also you should watch ant veno’s video where he goes through all the transitions from the different values but he also concurs with my opinion i concur with him in that negative one is perhaps the more interesting uh value to to try so you guys can uh play minecraft Using that it’s only the blocks which uh get tinted in game that actually change and shift along each biome that will be affected by this otherwise every other block will look the same thank you for watching leave a like subscribe for more creative content take care You Video Information

Using negative values for the relatively new “biomeBlendRadius” results in dramatic biome transitions that make no sense. Try them out in Minecraft’s “options.txt” file!
