UNBELIEVABLE: Striders dominate Nether Boats in Minecraft

There is one day of each week that every minecraft player looks forward to and that day is today otherwise known as Wednesday otherwise known as snapshot day today Mojang released snapshot twenty w13 a and what can i say other than it is absolutely game-changing my name is system Z and who needed nether

With the addition of the nether vote or stridor a new mob found in the lava lakes of the nether at first glance these guys are a bit terrifying but after some time spent getting to know each other you’ll learn that these guys aren’t half bad I mean they certainly

Need a proper haircut but at the end of the day they’re only here to eat warped fungi speaking of which if you slap a saddle on these guys and craft a warped fungi on a stick you can believe it or not take a first-class trip across the

Lava seas of the nether that was a sentence I never thought I’d say now before we get into the meat and vegetables of this snapshot this is an all-around amazing feature why you may ask it has everything to do with how unique and original this mob is for weeks now

Ever since minecraft 1.16 snapshots began to roll out the community has been asking for a way to cross the lava seas through means of nether boat or enchantments like magma Walker and despite how popular these ideas were no one and I mean absolutely no one could have ever expected what would come next

The nether Strider is not only a new mob it’s a completely unique and original answer to the burning question of how players will travel through the nether and quite frankly it’s a reminder of all the reasons we love minecraft the developers never fail to find a way to

Surprise players and make the game all the more interesting that being said let’s hop into another portal and see if we can’t give these guys a haircut all right where are they at let me Adam I’ve got the shears ready to give him a haircut but but I don’t I don’t really

See any at the moment or at least there they are they’re out in the lava which as you could see for a player like me in survival mode it’s gonna be a little hard to get over there but fortunately worry not we’ve got ourselves a spawn

Egg so that we can see exactly what these guys look like and as you can see he is absolutely terrifying but also adorable at the same time I am incredibly confused okay you need to back up a little bit and it’s Karimi he’s got a frown and he also shivers

Whenever they are out of lava they are considered cold and frightened so they’re shivering now as you could see he’s kind of make it as a way over towards the lava there now in this case we can’t really use them okay wow that guy just okay what are uh why not sure

In order to actually use these guys we’re going to need a saddle I really needed him for testing but but I guess that’ll just have to do I’ve got another one here I just wanted to see what they dropped when killed but it’s okay it’s okay so let’s just go ahead and actually

Craft an item first as you could say I’ve got a fishing rod and a warped fungus whenever you combine them together you get a warped fungus on a stick now you’re actually going to need to use this in order to actually maneuver with the Strider but if we go

Ahead and place this guy down we can put a saddle on them go ahead and hop on top and move him using the warp fungus on a stick and the other guys back he came back so it’s kind of sad but we can you know go ahead to see what he drops I

Mean it’s a little sad but we have to and also see you know how many hits it takes I’ve got another ID sword to keep that in mind so they are decently strong so they drop strength so that’s pretty interesting but as you can see I am completely safe in survival mode with

Absolutely no effects I’m purely in survival mode going across the lava seas at the moment traveling through the nether now obviously a lot of people really wanted to other boats out of the game I actually think this is so much better I mean just the way the character is bobbing up and

Down is absolutely magnificent I love the way this turned out nobody could have ever expected anything like this now what I’m curious about is whether or not they’re actually floating or if they’re just walking on one block oh geez okay well yeah I forgot you know if

It actually touches me I’m gonna burn all right little guy let’s make our way back to land do a little bit more experimentation and just analyze the way this guy looks now as you could see the guy is pretty much still alive he isn’t going to attack me he’s not gonna run

Around and go die in lava I’m pretty sure these guys just D spawn but I’m assuming we can actually name them so if you’ve got a nearby lava lake you could probably keep them nearby in some sort of containment area with of course a nametag to keep them from B

Spawning but as you could see the guy absolutely loved work fungus on a stick so pretty much you can guide them around using this but they’re definitely a lot slower on land these guys are incredibly interesting but I mean look at their hair oh geez you know after having spent so much time

With those guys they’re really starting to grow on me now if only their hair would grow so who needs nether boats after all Striders weren’t the only feature added in the snapshot and it also wasn’t the only long requested feature added either in snapshot 20 w13 a waypoints were added

In the form of lodestones and apart from being an absolutely astonishing decorative block lodestones can be used with the compass to set a directional waypoint allowing you to never lose your discoveries and save your locations imagine that you’ve just found a very very nice place to build

But unfortunately you don’t have any of your building materials with you well you can actually create a waypoint so that you’ll never lose that location and this is probably one of my favorite features added in minecraft 1.16 as you can see taking chiseled stone bricks along with the nether right ingot

Actually creates a lodestone which in this case is essentially a waypoint whenever you place it not only is it an absolutely beautiful decoration you can actually take a compass right-click the lodestone and set it to that point so now you can actually see now which direction I go this compass will

Always point back to this lodestone now obviously in survival this is going to be a great way to set and save locations so that you never miss any area that you’re trying to save you’ll never lose your nether portal or your face there are so many really cool applications for

This but what if you have a whole bunch of compasses that’s gonna be a little bit harder to keep up with your waypoints well worry not my friend because you can actually name these waypoints as well so this is a really cool Beach as you can see we’re gonna

Save this location as a place to build you can use named compasses as well and they will keep their names so this is a great way to keep track of which compass goes to which and even better you can use a show cur box as well as an

Enderchest to always keep track of your waypoints so you can easily use a waypoint shulker chest and as you can see we’ve got the various different compasses in this show cur box so whenever you’re going anywhere you can just carry an inter jest with you and always have access to every important

Location now honestly this is an incredibly useful block for one type of player specifically and I fall into that category someone who always loses their nether portal this is a great way to keep track of your nether portal and never lose it again so now we can

Actually go down and travel with the Striders and cross the lava lakes and never lose our nether portal I think this is very important it’s very cool to finally have a cool way to do this in survival mode and honestly I’m very excited to see what other similar

Features will be added in minecraft 1.16 because so far every new feature has been somewhat game-changing these are features we’ve been asking for for a very long time just added in very unique and original ways and honestly the lodestone is even more useful than just being a simple utility it’s actually a

Very beautiful decorative block which as you could see has a lot of potential for example you could take a smithing table and make a really nice checkerboard floor pattern that you could not previously do before I think the top half of this block stands out in a very

Nice way alternatively you could build a cemetery and actually use this as a gravestone now that I think looks very nice especially if you get a seed pickle and make it look like a zombie arm is coming out and of course there’s also several different building methods that

You could use this block for for example combining it with polished basalt makes for a really nice pillar so as far as structure goes you can do all sorts of different floor patterns you can do the actual pillars of a build there are countless ways to use this block so let
