The Make Your Move update for the biggest Pokemon mod in Minecraft is live right now adding aggressive herd-leading Alphas, size scaling, new rideable mons and over a dozen fresh species from later generations.

If you play Cobblemon you can stop waiting. Version 1.8 Make Your Move is out now and it delivers on the long teased Alpha Pokemon mechanic along with a flood of new content that actually changes how you play.
Alphas Are Here And They Mean Business

Alpha Pokemon are larger, stronger, and more aggressive than normal spawns. They lead herds, always know a TM move, and adapt to counter your party. They spawn with special bait effects from Hopo Berries and come with a dedicated advancement and stat tracker for catching them. This is not cosmetic. It changes encounter design and gives trainers real strategic headaches in the overworld.
- Intrinsic size scaling on every Pokemon from 5 percent smaller to 5 percent bigger
- New rideable Pokemon including Crobat, Skarmory, Milotic, Archeops, Goodra, Drampa, Duraludon and Archaludon
- Dozens of new species across generations 3 through 8 such as Wurmple line, Skitty, Zangoose, Cherubi line, Audino, Rockruff and Lycanroc, Rolycoly line, Snom line and Applin line
- New catch_alpha_pokemon advancement trigger and totalAlphaCaptureCount stat
The Cobblemon team has been shipping consistent updates that keep the mod feeling alive in a way official Pokemon games rarely match. This one leans hard into the trainer fantasy with better herds, visible held items, improved cosmetics and the kind of mechanical depth competitive players have wanted for years.
The update is live on Modrinth and CurseForge for Fabric. Download it directly from the official site and watch the trailer for a proper look at the new models and behaviors. If you run a Cobblemon server the timing is perfect to reset or expand.
